It's so weird to me that seemingly a lot of people have blocked me - recently, I was blocked while writing a reply to my earlier comment, I had it all typed out and couldn't send it anymore. That was a bit frustrating to be honest.

To my knowledge, I have never posted anything hateful or negative about any character on OFMD (for the reason that I genuinely love them all). Even my post-finale posts were more confused and hurt than angry.

My blog is very obviously Izzy centric and Izzy positive though (but still based on canon I hope), and that is apparently enough for a lot of people to block me? I mean ok, maybe it's for the better, but I'd never block anyone for liking a character I don't like, or interpreting them differently.

Blocking an account who incessantly and actively hates my fave? Absolutely. But I don't think I've ever hated a character so much that I'd want to block out any positive discussion about them. I just don't get it.

(It's probably about Ed, isn't it.)

What led to this (orufrey comic, cw an uncomfortable/creepy scene)

#witch hat tag #orufrey #er.... i'm too tired to have anything to say..i worked several days on this.#wait.. didn't i say just recently here that i probably wouldn't ever depict 'what if alaira is qifrey's sort-of ex'. What's going on #i don't even remember deciding to draw this..it's all a blur..i'm not sure why i WOULD decide to draw delicate scenes in my head #that i wouldn't really want to share with anyone/discuss so why did i draw it...#some part of me really really wants to draw things that are more and more true to myself...#maybe because of my alienation with most romance/shipping/dynamics the rest of the world depicts.#orufrey really is perfectly suited to me - what i read in the text and what is in my head. well anyway #i am TIRED of drawing poses and angles and..maybe now i will actually take a break from drawing bc of the tediousness of Angles #btw it really is a 'stretch of time' . . . assuming witches graduate age 18-20 #well orufrey are canonically 30-ish. they've only had agott around for presumably about TWO years (?) bc she took the test age 10 #and it feels like oru moving in/unknown atelier acquisition/building (?) .. i guess that could be a year or so before agott at most #(she was the first disciple) so... ????????? What about the other 7 or so years ?!?!?!!?!?! Unemployed Brimhat Hatred era #that time is very nebulous. after qifrey went to the tower i feel like it's been implied he and oru drifted apart a little.#certainly they didn't live together at first... no way. that doesn't feel like how it is based on things oru has said about becoming Eye #idk. I'm tired now. i don't usually think of alaira as necessarily qifrey's ex and this being how things went in that 'sliver of time'.#i usually prefer the idea that they have their first kiss with each other in their 30s cause That's Just The Orufrey Lifestyle #just felt like making a more relatable alternative view of my own Cai Orufrey Canon one time. btw im a big monoshipper and it hurt a bit #let's leave it there. this is surely the most i've worked on a 'single' art - though now i realise just how much longer the fic took :')

Yall imagine Danny getting help from Batman and tells him about how hes on the run (it was a joke in passing smh) and how he has no home (it was ment to be funny man) then all of a sudden Bruce way shows up on a totally casual stroll in his neighbourhood. “Oh look a child who is in need laaa dee daa let me help you poor random child who I have no idea who you are.” As if Danny is an idiot. He isnt fooled in the slightest. He knows when something is up. Batman clearly is using Bruce Wayne to help kids off the street.

Danny is staying at Wayne manner and notices how no one really talks about the bats. Or tif they do Bruce gets this look then quickly changes the subject. Hes putting so much effort into it too. And at first Danny hardly noticed. Now it’s obvious theres a connection. At first he thought Bruce Wayne hated batman with how often he refused to comment or gave his kids a glare when they mentioned the big bad bat. But now it’s clearly something else. Danny got a chance to talk to the commissioner alone and then it clicked. Danny had asked whats Mr.Waynes beef with Batman and the commissioner seemed so confused. Quickly telling Danny about how the two have worked together. How Bruce has even helped the bat with information or a distraction from time to time. Why would Danny think that he hated him???

And BAM Danny had it. Bruce Wayne is dating THE Batman!!! Holy shit it makes so much sense. Danny would often find batgear around the house. Bruce probably got targeted a bunch and thats probably how they met.

Now hes trying so hard to be supported of his clearly closeted father figure. He also gets why it’s not public info too. Paints a huge target on Bruce. Plus his many many kids. Must be hard for them. What a crazy life they live. Jason would probably be so jealous of their literal fairytale romance.

Danny tells Bruce that he is supported by him and that his secret is safe until hes ready to tell anyone else. Bruce niw thinking Danny knows hes batman shows up no mask and Danny goes nuts. “You can’t out yourself in danger to protect him bruce!!! You are just some himbo man!!! He wouldnt want this!!!” Thinking Bruce is going to try and fight in Batmans place.

Then Danny walks up and places a hand on bruces should (he has to reach lmao shorty). “I will go. I will keep everyone safe. You can count in me” transforms snd flys off to defeat the big bad. Leaving a fully stunned and confused bruce.

I'm watching Berserk and I may or may not have hyped myself up to turn my vampire ocs into dark fantasy characters. mmaybe

#sketch tag #so uh. pepper is kind of a guts basically jdjgkckkc #they're both in an army and they butt heads a lot bc pepper is big and stronk but very impulsive and reckless #but there's no griffith situation or anything like that it's just that vince worries abt her #and he's way more restrained as a fighter and a strategist. maybe a commander or second in command #and just like in vtm he's very paranoid and afraid of change. so he worries abt her and is also unhappy in the army but too scared to leave #so he broods a lot and mopes around and gets on her ass abt her recklessness #and just like in vtm pepper is impulsive and has a lot of pent up frustration and she uses the battlefield to release all of it #sometimes overexerting herself and nearly getting herself killed #she also wants to leave bc she's not sure she believes in what they're fighting for anymore. but then she loses her coping mechanism #things change when they have an argument where he reveals he cares abt her sjfjjfkf YES very cliche I am thriving #and she's dismissive at first but after being alone for a bit his words start sinking in #and when they're on a battlefield again there's a moment where they have to retreat and she's about to absolutely not listen to that #but then she has a change of heart bc she remembers what he said + she cares abt him too so she doesn't want him to be hurt by her actions #neither by him getting worried nor trying to come to her aid and putting his life at risk #so she retreats #and he's very happy abt that he thanks her later for what she did #and then she's like yeah sure I guess I didn't die but also guess what. I'm bored #everything she wanted to release back there she just didn't. so she's still frustrated and especially bc she had to admit defeat #and she's an extremely proud person. she's irritated #and he's like aight. I'm gonna fight you then #and she's like what. and he's like yeah #so he picks up a sword and throws another one to her and there's a *sexual tension play-fight* hell yeah babey #I'm having sm fun w this au can you tell jejfjckckkc #eventually they do desert the army they're in bc things get worse and pepper decides she no longer wants to be a part of it #and in a fight or flight moment she pushes vincent to make a decision and he leaves with her #and like the story is only getting started there bc then there'll be some big misteries in the story they're gonna uncover #which. i personally think there was no need to make remarks about age

one thing that always makes me ???? about the pilot is john's motel room.

he left his photo of him and the boys, he left his journal which the cops got, he left his freaking jacket. literally did not take the clothes jacket off his back. which is.... ????

if the demons (i.e., azazel and co) were literally on his ass to the extent that he had to drop everything, like everything, and run, wouldn't he have maybe given a heads up to sam and dean that Danger Was Imminent? or was he so entirely confident that they wouldn't be targeted and that only he himself was in danger, so he actually did drop everything and run but felt fine not even leaving a voicemail?

(if he thought that, uhhhh, just looking at jess, over here, and not saying anything).

like i get the narrative reason and function, but with all that in mind, the in-universe explanation that i land on is pretty much that john deliberately made it look like he had to drop everything and run. that he was in imminent, immediately, life-threatening danger, and this charade was mostly for dean. the logic of which is just... wild.

today was real bad! well the morning was bad and the rest of the day was rendered unpleasant by a bruised tailbone. pharmacies are a functional institution that deliver your mail-ordered medication within the time frame the website says. i even got to scrub blood out of my bedroom carpet. still better than the time i was in a dorm bathroom and repeatedly faceplanted directly into the sharp-textured wall though. don't have epilepsy kids

#i didn't have a scratch on my leg when i woke up but i sure did when i woke up again a little later #wasn't really that bad a scratch but i guess even a shallow wound pressed against a carpet when fresh for like ten minutes leaves a stain #there was a little bit on the nearby wall too #anyway moving the lower half of my body hurts and i had to do a lot of walking today #but the day is done now! and i got my meds in person so this won't happen tomorrow #still i'm gonna complain about it

If anyone is interested, here's all the effects I added to my 'cursed doors' journal page:

slightly crumpled paper texture

Threw some of a slightly desaturated version of the paper color around on the page with a big texture-y paintbrush until the paper looked less uniform

Slightly shaded the drawing + darkened edges of the page with a watercolor brush

Stanford font (very easy to download, literally drag-and-drop)

For the bit of warmth bleeding out from the ink: [effect shown in image 2 below, image 1 there for comparison] In CSP, Select > Select color gamut, make sure it's referencing all layers, and then colorpick the color used for all the text and drawings. Then, Select > Expand selected area, and make the expansion width 5 px. Then, on a layer underneath all the text and drawings, use the fill tool, uncheck the "apply to connected pixels only" box, and then when you click inside one of the selected areas, it should fill in every single selected area on the page at once. I made the color orangey, and set the layer to overlay, but idk if that layer setting really made much of a difference.

deep sigh. so the thing abt the fnc finale is that the show understands what the issue is but the metaphors they use TRULY do not represent that. the decision to use a choose your own adventure to demonstrate the imbalance in the relationship, implying that simon was making actively selfish decisions instead of just passively being oblivious to how betty's decisions aren't healthy has done irreparable damage to the relationship analysis on both sides.

it also removes betty's agency because, as unhealthy as her behavior was, it was always UNDENIABLY her choice because she was so insanely ride or die. simon didn't make her do anything or made actively selfish decisions that hurt her, he just didn't realize this was bad until it went too far. so the choice metaphor here doesn't really work.

but also people going the opposite direction and saying the relationship had zero problems or betty was simply girlbossing or w/e isn't true because obviously her actions did hurt her and simon's inability to realize that (and his own self sacrifice complex making it hard to see the issue imo) is like... a real issue. but it doesn't make it Toxic or Not Love it's just... flawed and unhealthy love, and that could've been unpacked had the crown/apocalypse/etc. not happened
