Thinking about how, at the end of the day, at the fatal moment, the sunset of the Republic, it wasn’t Yoda, or Obi-Wan, or even the Chosen One himself standing in the way of Palpatine. It was Mace Windu.
Mace Windu, the inventor of Vaapad and Master of Form VII, the Jedi's strongest duelist, the only person to ever defeat Palpatine in combat. Mace Windu, Master of the Jedi Council and the youngest Master ever appointed to it, the revered leader of the Order. Mace Windu, who forgave even those who tried to kill him, who risked his life over and over again for his troops, who, after 3 years of desperate war, tried to negotiate with battle droids. Mace Windu, who knew the clones were created by the Sith and chose to trust them, who saw every Shatterpoint in the Republic, and loved it still, and fought for it until his last breath, until he was betrayed by Anakin, who he believed in and trusted despite everything.
Mace Windu, High General and hero of the Republic, the embodiment of the Light, the last and greatest champion of the Order, the best Jedi to ever live.

ngl im fucking terrified of how the fandom will act when the asian ccs get added and they are confronted with asian customs such as honorifics, asian cultural norms, and the language itself (ie words that are common in one language that sounds like a slur in another) and i know most of the fandom will be open and welcoming but idk im probably being way too pessimistic as someone who is asian and has seen the bs that people can spew esp regarding things like stereotypes

crazy form!yunho and wooyoung in their lil workshop, refining their tech and whatnot. enter: you, the super attractive computer tech genius who hongjoong may or may not have bribed into joining their cause. at first things are bumpy but soon enough wooyoung has you bent over one of the desks, papers and pencils strewn all over the place, while yunho is reclined leisurely and watching with a very obvious erection as he instructs woo on how to fuck you as he's waiting for some data to load <33

...okay this was supposed to be a tag rant on another post I was drafting, but this kind of makes a better point than what I was writing originally so let me try that again.
The thing about Edér Pillars Of Eternity and his theme of second chances is that not only that theme is everywhere for him (seriously. I did Not remember it being that present in his early dialogue but IT IS) but that his relationship with it changes over time.
At first, he's a worshipper of the god of second chances. Then, he is the one being offered a second chance, not by his god, but by a stranger who saves him from being hanged by literally just giving him something else to do with his life. Then, in Deadfire, he is the one delivering the Watcher's second chance, dragging them out of Caed Nua after it's been destroyed by Eothas. At that moment, he's closer to the embodiment of second chances than Eothas himself, which is kind of wild and exactly the kind of character arc I find fun, apparently.

i just think it’s so sick and twisted gortash canonically has abs. like him being hairy isn’t enough i also need him to be fat. it’s like when people make mods that smooth out his old ass face or whiten his yellow ass teeth, but it’s real. i need to see his muffin top more than i need to see anything else in this game.

omg... just sent my resignation of membership to the political party i've been a member of for more than 8 years. a third of my life. i've spent countless hours volunteering for them on the board of my hometown chapter and during election campaigns; some of my partymates are basically family. but the party on a national basis have been eerily silent on palestine. the national leader wrote a long bullshitty op-ed titled "the palestinians are suffering, the jews are suffering" in which she refused to take a stance and failed to distinguish between jews and zionists. and also spent more time condemning the crimes of hamas than the crimes of israel.
i have considered leaving the party many times over the years. the fact that they can't take a firm stance on a genocide makes it abundantly clear that i don't belong here. fucking sucks, man. im not sure where i go from here.

what are your thoughts on mota so far??
I’m enjoying watching the show as it airs and taking everything in! I definitely agree with people who say its tone is more like The Pacific over Band of Brothers since of course the camaraderie is a huge aspect, but the sense of distress and loss is more poignant. I think The Pacific’s strength is its focus on the psychological impact of war, I’m hoping they explore some of that with the guys who ended up POW since there are quite a few of them.
Also, I’m honestly kind of confused as to why we’re 5 episodes in and the Tuskegee Airmen haven’t been introduced yet? The trailers and posters made it seem like they’d have a bigger role, so I’m hoping the next few episodes will remedy that. Otherwise I’ll be pretty disappointed with that aspect.
To be honest, I’m probably going to hold off a little longer than March to write for it. I know myself by now, and I’m better off waiting for the initial hype to die down a bit (been there, done that, got burned out in like 3 months lol). Plus, think I’d need a rewatch or two to personally feel like I could do it justice. I just don’t wanna jump the gun, especially since so much happened in episodes 4 and 5.
