In terms of the theories you’ve brought up, that does make sense. After all, even accounting for the lack of a known different on time between their original time and ours, they are similar enough that perhaps that convergent evolution in similar but harsher versions of our world would occur. As for being prepared for what happened…given the kinds of residents who end up arriving, the folks here and I are very familiar with dealing with Pokémon who are scared and injured, especially if they end up being permanent residents and don’t end up taken in by a family who comes by. I’m actually thankful Hogan, Electro, and now Emir have adapted as well as they have to their new home for that reason.
I imagine with Lilith, the mess afterwards wasn’t as sticky, given the juice that Hogan had drank was from Sitrus berries, and the barrels were pierced as a result of that. We had to clean the shed before it could be repaired as well as both Hogan and Julien after the sudden bout of wrestling, and though Julien is very used to baths even with the fact he’s a fire-type, Hogan was clearly unsure of the soap we used out of unfamiliarity. Least they calmed down when he was given one of the rubber duckletts we keep for stressed out residents taking baths to use like a stress ball. They proceeded to claim that specific one as their personal rubber ducklett, amusingly enough, and always has it in hand when washing up.
As for Electro and Emir, besides both of them also being buddies with Auther and Volt thanks to the former’s physical therapy with them and also introducing the latter to them, while each of them were in recovery, they were as shy as you’d expect, especially considering that I’ve heard that Xurkitree tend to be very energetic and Koraidon are often not unlike young Rockruff in behavior, a trait I’ve noticed is shared with many Miraidon as well. Electro started opening up at Volt’s insistence, the Dracozolt in question basically beckoning their friend to play in the snow with some other buddies who live here, which somehow did wonders for helping Electro open up. I have a feeling this led to Electro wanting to befriend Emir, perhaps able to figure out the similar situation and wanting to be to Emir what Volt was to them. I’d say it worked well, given how before that point, Emir only really seemed to trust Cantante, likely due to her being the one to find them and let us know so we could free Emir and treat their injures, myself, presumably since I am Cantante’s trainer, and a few others, my colleagues who focus more on the medical side of our establishment.
I think it's at least an interesting framework for understanding why these Pokemon are the way they are, both with Ultra Beasts and Paradox Pokemon. While we can directly observe where Ultra Beasts come from with the help of Pokemon like Solgaleo, Lunala, and Necrozma, we can't do the same with Paradox Pokemon at this time - but we can still make a lot of inferences about what their homes are like just by their physiology and their links to present Pokemon. Gonna ramble more under a cut so I don't blow out anyone's dash.
For instance, my Iron Moth, Lilith, mostly survives off of sunlight, has powerful attacks, and has a tough exterior. This suggests it lives in a sunlight-rich environment, mostly ruling out the 'eternal clouds' theory someone was floating about the Paradoxes' future, and probably had serious predators or competed heavily with other Pokemon, which also explains the aggression. With Great Tusk, the past Paradox Pokemon we know the most about, we can guess similar things - it's an herbivore, but also a powerful attacker with a lot of aggression, meaning it probably faces a lot of danger in nature.
And yeah...the transit in time or space alone can be very frightening for Pokemon like that, and all that natural aggression doesn't make the landing any easier. It's very lucky that there are people and organizations like you and like my lab to intervene and prevent these Pokemon - and others - from coming to harm. It sounds like Hogan, Emir, and Electro got lucky with where they landed, and I really hope the same is true of Lilith.
And heh, thankfully Lillith's mess wasn't nearly as...sticky. It just flung papers everywhere and knocked over a few things, and got some Sludge Bomb splat on a wall. Not too hard to clean. It's interesting how Hogan took on those barrels, given how Buzzwole eat in the wild. And cleaning a Buzzwole must have been a funny experience! I always find it sweet how Pokemon like Ultra Beasts, Paradox Pokemon, and Legendaries or Mythicals in general are sometimes just the same as other Pokemon, doing things like picking favorite toys or comfort objects.
It's also wonderful how Pokemon care for and help each other! Seems like Volt did a lot to help Electro, and Electro did a lot to help Emir. Electro even paid forward how Volt was kind to it, which is so sweet...so many Pokemon are just wonderful to each other. I genuinely don't know what we'd do without Pokemon like that.
Also, I'd object to the comparison of Miraidon and Rockruff, but one of my colleagues is outside throwing a ball for the visiting 'Raidons and they're chasing after it like, well, little Rockruff. Lilith is staring intently. Arceus above, once things calm down I am going to try and catch one.

Oops (Final Rose x Pokemon)
Diana had heard about this particular fishing spot from a friend of hers, so she was determined to try it out. However, she only had enough time to pull out her fishing rod before a trainer hurried over to challenge her.
“I challenge you!”
Diana blinked. “Listen, kid, do you know who I am?” That wasn’t normally something she’d say, but then again, it wasn’t often that she got challenged by someone who had very clearly only just begun her journey.
The girl scowled. “I don’t care who you are! I’m going to win! Now, do you accept my challenge or not?”
Behind the girl, her friend, another girl, was frantically waving at her to call off her challenge. Diana’s lips twitched. She might have noticed Charizard and Tyranitar, both of whom were a little ways down the dock with their own fishing rods. It was difficult to mistake them for anyone else since Charizard had his goggles hanging around his neck, and Tyranitar was wearing one of his cowboy hats.
“Stop!” the girl’s friend hissed. “That’s Diana Yun-Farron!”
“Who?” the first girl huffed. “Look, I don’t care if you’re famous or something. I’m going to become the world champion!”
“Fine.” Diana shrugged, politely skipping over the fact that she was the current world champion. She was never going to get any fishing done if she didn’t deal with this. She reached for one of her poke balls. “How many pokemon do you have?”
“One.” The girl proudly called out her Squirtle.
“Right...” Diana was actually starting to feel bad now. “Look, did you actually just run straight here after getting your starter?”
“So what if I did?” The girl wrapped her arms around her pokemon. “Squirtle and I are already best buddies! There’s no way we’ll lose!”
Diana sighed and called out her pokemon. Dracozolt appeared, and the hybrid fossil pokemon looked around for a moment before focusing on the Squirtle. He titled his head to one side and nudged Diana with his tail.
“Zolt?” He had a hard time believing that she’d called him out to fight a Squirtle, of all things, never mind a Squirtle who clearly lacked any sort of fighting experience.
“Yeah, she insisted on battling, so... yeah.”
The Squirtle meanwhile was staring in horrified awe at Dracozolt. The girl, likewise, had fallen completely silent as she finally seemed to realise just how much trouble she was in.
“Please.” The girl’s friend hurried forward. “Maybe pretend that she didn’t challenge you?”
Diana gave the first girl a wry smile. “That okay with you?”
“...” The girl nodded slowly. “Yes. Yes, it is.”
“Heh.” Diana shrugged. “Since you’re here, why don’t you come with me. I’ve got some extra fishing rods you can borrow, and you can each try to catch some extra pokemon. The ones around here are supposed to be pretty low level, so you shouldn’t have too much trouble.”
The girls stayed for a couple of hours, catching their first additional pokemon each, before going on their way. Diana managed to hook a few pokemon, but she tossed them all back. They didn’t have that special spark she was looking for. As she was about to pack up, she was challenged again, but this time, by someone a bit more suitable.
“You’re Diana Yun-Farron.” The boy grinned. “My name is Ash Ketchum, and I’d like to challenge you.”
“Is that so?” Diana grinned back. “Cynthia mentioned you. She said you’re pretty good.”
Ash scratched the back of his head. “I’m okay, I guess. It’s not like I beat her or anything.”
“She’s the Sinnoh champion for a reason, Ash.” Diana waved Tyranitar and Charizard over. “So... what do you have in mind?”
“A full battle,” Ash said. “Six versus six.”
“Sure.” Diana nodded. “Averia had some good things to say about that Pikachu of yours too.”
Pikachu smiled. “Pika!”
“Yeah, my sister isn’t one for flattery. If she says you’re interesting, you’re interesting.” Diana smirked and called out her first pokemon. She’d go first to let Ash have a chance to counter pick. “I guess I’ll start off with... Aegislash.”

Poke Ball - If you have pokémon what kind of poke balls are they kept in?
Ordinary red/white balls with custom stickers of their names on 'em. I oughta decorate them more but I can't settle on a good way to do it.
Great Ball - Is there anything your pokémon are especially great at? Like tricks or moves?
Delphine's fave move is Play Rough, at least, I'm guessing it is since she uses it so often, and she's pretty good at it in my opinion. Meanwhile Nox's seems to be Power Gem? Also for the same reason.
Ultra Ball - How easy is it to bathe and groom your pokémon? What is needed to do so?
Usually the gals just clean themselves easily enough. They dislike getting dirty. Never needed to give either of 'em a bath.
Luxury Ball - What is one luxury you tend to take for granted or use to take for granted?
I used to tend to order DoorDash meals when I was too lazy to cook. And then one month I basically went broke because of my lack of self-control and sense. So, no more of that!
Heal Ball - Do you have any scars or injuries? How did you get them?
All the old cuts I got as a child from the multiple meowth my parents had growing up have healed and faded since then. Not all of those meowth liked children, y'know? And I was an annoying kid, always grabby-hands. Thankfully neither of my gals have ever seriously got me. Unrelated to pokemon, I got a fracture in one of my arms as a child when another kid pushed me off the monkey bars. Had to wear a cast.
Love Ball - Is there anyone you care deeply for? It can be romantic, platonic, or familial love.
My mom, for one. She wasn't perfect and still has her flaws to this day, but she loves me in the end and just wants me to be happy.
Friend Ball - Do you have any close friends? How did you meet them?
I don't really have any friends outside of my family, unfortunately. It's kind of lonely. One of the reasons I made this blog was so I could make new friends in the pokemon-owning community.
Repeat Ball - What is one thing that you could do over and over and never get tired of?
Eat! Sleep? Lol. I'm not very interesting. Well...if I could experience the feeling of winning a battle with your 'mon over and over again, that would probably be it. It's one of the few things in my life that make me feel like I know what I'm doing and I'm not a failure of a person. Which makes it suck even more when I lose.
Cherish Ball - What memory are you most fond of?
When Nox and Delphine were kittens, though Delphine was grown by the time Nox came into the picture. I hold those times near and dear to my heart.
Premier Ball - Are there any special events that you’re looking forward to in the future? If the event has already happened, what was it?
I plan to challenge a Unovan gym eventually! I just, uh, am indecisive...
Safari Ball - Have you been on any adventures? What were they?
Outside of New Tork? Not really. I've never left this city my whole life. I think I've got to change that...
Dusk Ball - Do you prefer the day or the night? Dawn or dusk?
I am a morning person.
Dream Ball - Do you have a dream? Or have you already achieved it?
I want to be a real, traveling pokemon trainer, I think. I've been stalling because I'm hesitant to give up everything I've gotten so far -- my job, my apartment. Being a professional trainer isn't easy, as far as I've observed...do you think I'm making up excuses? I'm not sure what I'm doing. All I know is sometime soon I need to try.
Heavy Ball - What is the biggest pokémon you own? What is the biggest Pokémon you are willing to own?
Both of my gals are averagely sized for Kantonian persian and both are about the same size as one another.
Strange Ball - What is the strangest thing you’ve seen or have heard about?
Why do scientists insist on making unethical hybrids like arctozolt and dracozolt? The poor things.
Park Ball - Do you take your pokémon out to fun places such as the park or the beach?
I take my 2 persian out to local parks as often as I can. Also on general walks.
Moon Ball - If you have pokémon that have evolved how did it happen? If they haven’t yet evolved do you or your pokémon ever plan on doing it?
If Nox and Delphine ever felt like they wanted to evolve before they did, they never let me know. I get the feeling neither of them expected to evolve either. For Delphine, it happened about half a year before Nox evolved. IIRC, meowth-Delphine was eating her daily dinner when suddenly she began to glow and change in shape. Nox, we were outside on a walk. I didn't expect any of it. They were both still pretty young, and to be honest they are still young now. Does this mean I'm a decent trainer? I hope so.
Quick Ball - Do you tend to take your time with things or do you have a ‘go go go’ attitude?
I am contradictory. Sometimes I have a go-go-go let's get this done right now kinda attitude, and then with other things I procrastinate badly.
Sports Ball - Have you participated in any competitions? Like pokémon contests or battle tournaments?
Not yet but we will. I am 26 and we've still got our whole life ahead of us. Don't remind me how some people start out at age 10 and still become champions...it makes me feel depressed about my progress.
Nest Ball - How old was your youngest pokémon when you got them?
Nox is the youngest, and she was practically a baby when I got her. Delphine was more of a teen.

Some quick pokemon fic featuring two of my ocs
Var gets a job.
~~
Sat impatiently in a fairly comfortable chair, Var watched the gymleader’s Dracozolt watch him out of the corner of his eye. After some, bad experiences, dragon-types weren’t really his thing, but the flying-type gymleaders hadn’t been taking apprentices and this was the next best thing.
He picked at the stitching of his pants.
“Morning,” Leader Marian said as she walked in the open door. Var jolted straight-backed, hands motionless in his lap, as she rounded her desk, patting the dual-type and chuckling under her breath. “I’m sorry I couldn’t give you the full tour myself, some trouble came up on the east end. Taher took care of you?”
‘He did, thank you,’ he signed with a nod and a smile. The veteran trainer and his Altaria had been incredibly welcoming, letting him know not only where everything in the building was, including his quarters, but also giving directions to restaurants and nice shops within walking distance. In fact everyone at the gym so far had welcomed him and his team with open arms.
“Good to hear. How do you like the place?”
‘I wasn’t expecting it to be so cozy.’ Once you got out of the public areas the whole place began to feel like walking through a family home. It would take some getting used to, and a while to feel like he wasn’t intruding, but his assigned bed had been the comfiest thing he’d ever laid on. The gymleader chuckled again with a smile.
“We try. Too many dragon gyms act like they need to toughen up their trainers, and life’s just too short for that.” Var nodded again. That’d been his second worry when he’d sent in his application, everything had told him to expect barebones and harsh training. Meeting Marian in person though, he wasn’t sure the heavyset woman in front of him could do harsh even if she’d wanted to.
That was probably an unwise thing to think about a dragon master.
“Your actual work will start next week,” she explained, “so you have time to settle in to get to know the area.” He appreciated the thought- again, the internet had told him to expect otherwise- and the way her smile widened made something nervous and excited twist in his gut. Opening a drawer, Marian pulled out a plain, pristine pokeball and set it between them. “In the meantime, you can get to know your first pokemon.”
A grin broke out across Var’s face. It was customary for a gymleader to provide pokemon of the proper type to their apprentices, as part of their duty to battle visiting trainers and also to help them learn about working with pokemon of the appropriate and other types. This, more than even his room, was the sign that he really truly was part of the gym now. That he really was living the dream. Nothing would outdo his Swellow in his heart, but this might come close.
He picked up the pokeball, trying hard to not seem like it was with a degree of reverence and not completely accomplishing it, and released an Applin. It peeped at him, bouncing in his lap, and Marian looked at him expectantly.
‘Grass dragon dual-type,’ he signed, ‘evolves into Flapple and Appletun.’ She nodded as he scooped it up and held it close.
“One of the easiest dragon-types to care for,” she said, “and the weaknesses and resistances don’t line up with what you’re used to. A good learning experience.” A grin split her face and she held out a hand to him. He shook it with a matching smile. “Welcome home, Var.”

If you did end up becoming the electric type gym leader, where would you prefer your gyms location was? And what Pokémon would be on your team?
Hmmm definitely southern Galar, I’m much more comfortable out here. Maybe Wedgehurst but maybe not. Maybe Crown Tundra territory?? I don’t know but down south for sure :)
As for pokémon, if we’re talking a team of six, I already have a pincurchin, toxel, and a boltund. So I would evolve my toxel to a toxtricity making a solid three members so the party. I’d also evolve my eevee into a jolteon, making four. Let’s say the last two are dracozolt and maybe a vikavolt?
Yeah I like that team (in no particular order): Pincurchin, Toxtricity, Boltund, Jolteon, Dracozolt, and Vikavolt :)

So I did an analysis of my “Catch ‘Em All” Pokemon Card Binder...
...in order to determine what cards I had and what cards I needed. The point of the “Catch ‘Em All” binder is to have at least 1 of every single Pokemon there is - not to complete sets or hunt holos or “ex”s or “EX”s or “GX”s or full arts or whatever. I just one one of all 893* Pokemon. (*there are 893 pokemon as of this writing.)
The thing is, I want the “original sets” for generations 1-3. That is to say, I don’t need ALL of EVERY set from gens 1-3, but I want the cards to be of the original sets. So for generation 1** that is: Base, Base 2, Fossil, and Jungle. For generation 2** that is: Neo Destiny, Neo Genesis, Neo Discovery, and Neo Revelations. For generation 3 that is the four sets in the e-series, and the 17 sets in the ex ruby and sapphire series.
(**I am also collecting the WoTC Black Star promos from gen 1, the Rocket set from gen 1, and the Southern Islands set from gen 2. These are in my collections binder, however, not my Catch ‘Em All binder. I will likely go on to collect the Gym Heroes and Gym Challenge sets after finishing Team Rocket and Southern Islands...WoTC Black Star Promos will take a while).
For generation 4 and onwards, there are WAY too many sets to be that specific.
Under the cut is my list/analysis of the cards that I need to complete my Catch ‘Em All binder. If you have any of the cards below and are willing to trade/sell for reasonable prices - usually 10-20% of TCGPlayer for more common cards or ebay recently sold for rarer cards...according to the reddit and forums I trade on - please, hit me up!
I already have all of the cards I need from generations 1 and 2. That is, one of each pokemon. And I actually have all of generation 1 fossil and jungle cards, plus a mixture of base and base 2. For generation 2, I don’t have all the cards from every set, and will probably pick up a few more here and there as I see them, but I’m no actively seeking. But I have every pokemon. INCLUDING THE STUPID UNOWN R THAT WAS ONLY A JAPANESE PROMO AND NEVER PRINTED LIKE THE OTHER UNOWNS.
So the actual list begins with generation 3. The “*” cards are ones I don’t have at all. The ones without “*” I have some version of, just not a version from a set that I want. So without further ado:
GENERATION 3:

I’m honestly not sure that there are cards for ALL of the gen8 pokemon yet...probably not Kubfu and Urshifu, and almost certainly not Zarude.
In addition to the cards I need above, I also have a “Collections” binder - which is for all those  “ex”s or “EX”s or “GX”s or full arts or rainbow rares or anything that is really cool. It also includes card series, such as those listed above (and some others!) as well as my Pikachu, Meowth, Eevee, Vulpix, Ninetales, and Umbreon card collections, as well as a third binder that is a reverse holo binder, where I put all the reverse holos I have (as long as I have a different one, either a second reverse holo or a non-holo, in my Catch ‘Em All binder).
I’m usually pretty willing to trade reverse holos, and there are definitely some cards in my collections binder that I am willing to trade as well.
You can view what I’m offering for trade HERE and HERE.
If you want to trade, let me know!

While we’re on the topic of pissing on Pokemon, did I ever mention how disappointed I was with Crown Tundra? And the DLC in general? I don’t think I ever wrote anything about it because CT was honestly that lackluster and failed to hold my attention for long, arguably doing even worse to interest me than Island of Armor.
I really can’t believe that this is the state of pokemon. Like I get it, the series has been in a general decline, but good god at least the games used to feel complete. I used to be able to spend $40 or in that range and get a COMPLETE pokemon experience: a good main playthrough, good interactions with my friends, and a good post-game for refining your pokemon or getting some secrets. $40. To even get close to that experience for Sword and Shield, you have to spend something like $100: that’s a full-price console game + a $30 DLC pack + paying for online subscription (which is necessary for accessing half of the DLC’s funnest features)... + Pokemon Bank/Home, assuming you wanted to transfer pokemon up or around or anything.
That’s absurd and honestly my whole opinion here is that, at best, being FUCKING generous here... at best, this DLC should’ve been free updates to the game. At least then I would think that I’ve now officially gotten a full $40 video game, nearly one year after its release. At least I would feel that way. I wouldn’t even feel bad that it cost me $60, I would still have negative shit to say but at least I could get lost in the luster of new graphics and uhh dynamax battles aaaaaaand uh Dracozolt. Dracozolt is worth the $20 upcharge. Everything else was garbage.
And I just... it gets LAUGHABLE when you consider all the huge flaws of the base game. I’m not gonna get into all that again but fucking god Sword and Shield WITH its DLC and INCLUDING online, that whole experience BARELY would make the quality of a $40 handheld game. I can’t fucking believe that this is the experience they shat out, it’s genuinely ruined my faith in the Pokemon franchise -- and hur hur I know some people are gonna be smug as fuck and say something like “haha you only JUST lost your faith haha.” but seriously, SERIOUSLY, everything up until now has at least been BEARABLE for me, the semi-casual Pokemon consumer. At least I was never losing out on over $50 over games that needed three more years to bake.
I think that’s just where I stand now, I really don’t think I can be assed to buy another Pokemon game unless it takes them six or more years to develop it. I simply cannot trust that they would produce a quality product with any less time. This bullshit schedule of theirs where they push out a mainline game every two or three goddamn years is ruining the games. XY was shaky, Sun and Moon had some issues, but dear god was Sword and Shield just literally incomplete, with the nerve to then charge you EXTRA for features that any previous game would have given you as post-game content. And these features aren’t even very good! They’re not implemented well! Both DLC packs are just as shitty as the main game! And I have to be charged to access online? Where some of the most fun content is locked behind? AND I have to use a fucking different app just to move my Pokemon around??? WHICH I ALSO HAVE TO PAY A SUBSCRIPTION FOR??? ... AND YOU DON’T EVEN HAVE ACCESS TO ALL THE PREVIOUS POKEMON YET?!?! AFTER A WHOLE YEAR AND TWO DLC UPDATES WORTH $30, WE STILL CAN’T EVEN TRANSFER UP ALL POKEMON.
BUT THANK GOD THEY INCLUDED A WHOLE PLOT FOR THE REGIS. DEFINITELY THE MOST INTERESTING POKEMON PEOPLE WANT TO GET THEIR HANDS ON.

(Gary anon) (Gonna get this out the way first; using Google Translate for this so I might be a bit off: Pokemon is apparently doing an art exhibition with some artist? So, anipoke is doing a collaborative short for it coming out in February. For a brief, brief moment in beginning, we can see Gary, Ritchie and Casey along with Misty, Togepi and Brock in the audience. Watching Ash battle said artist. Everyone's in their OS-style designs here, like if OS was reanimated.)
.
(Part 2) (You can find the preview on the JPN Pokemon Twitter [or their Youtube], not on anipoke [currently]) I remember a few speculated if Gary going to showcase the fossils or own at least one of them. Dracozolt is the only one I can see, if that happened. (Arctovish suffers from "can't walk on land, thus doomed to obscurity like Misty's Goldeen") But yeah, let him help Ash once please. (Seems a lot of people did. Didn't help when they popped up out of thin air randomly)
(Part 3) (It's fun to explore in a big world. I guess some are wanting more diversity in landscapes; or at least not starting in a grassland) This one's looking to be a 2-parter, the 2nd being the 100th episode for Journeys. Maybe Giga-Gengar vs. Giga-Grimmsnarl? (I actually wouldn't mind another solo adventure from her. I kinda expect one if Serena does come back) As for today's episode, the retirement part seems very legit{waiting for subs for 100% confirmation}. Not only that, but
(Part 4) Cassidy and Butch have separate lives now. (A fake-out in the episode still happens, as most expected. Won't spoil.) The Arceus arc? The Heatran conflict is solved, Brock takes off his shirt again and shows he's a beast(No Mega), Ash turns his hat, Dracovish is here, Cynthia has her Roserade, we finally get our Ash/Dawn High Touch and *the male protagonist of Arceus got to have an anime debut. (*The last one was Lucas; sorta comes full circle)
OH?? Very interesting!
Yeah I can see him with a Dracozolt. I'd like that.
Yeah, hopefully he'll get to help Ash in some way. I love the vibes they have in JN and I want to see more of that.
It was wild. Galar was such an Experience.
Yeah! Exploration is fun, I love playing BotW and Minecraft and just roaming aimlessly to see what I can find. I enjoy linear games of course, I've been playing Pokemon games (which are usually pretty linear) since I was five years old and loved it all the way, but every once in a while I find it a neat change of pace to play something I can get lost in. Lost my mind when I first got into Minecraft as a teenager.
Anyway. Should be fun!
Yeah, I really liked the two-parter where she went to Sinnoh and had her own little adventure and met Dawn! Very fun. And I think at one point I talked about how much I enjoyed the Galarian Ponyta episode too. Would love to see more like that, Chloe's great and I love her. It'll be fun if she meets Serena (and a way to have Serena return that won't feel instantly awkward considering. You Know).
Ah. I wonder if I should actually watch that one when I feel like making the effort to seek it out or just "watch" it secondhand via my friends posting about it.
Also just realized Butch making a reappearance means when the episode is dubbed, that's the fifth character voiced by Carter Cathcart who is... a semi-important character who speaks human language...? (cannot think of a prettier way to phrase that considering Meowth) to appear in Journeys. That man is doing so much, I have some Opinions about him but I really do respect the hustle and I won't deny he's talented.
All of that sounds so rad! Will have to check it out at some point.
Good for him! That's cute, that the last one was Lucas and then it's his (presumed) ancestor. I like that.
Also wow Legends Arceus is out today!!! I need to decide on a tag for my playthrough!! (And also what starter I want because I uh. Never fully nailed that down.)

Noted. That’s certainly an interesting set of parallels, and certainly makes more sense than a less discussed rumor I’ve heard of about Paradox Pokemon actually being creations of something located at the very bottom of the great crater of Paldea. I’m not even sure what led to that rumor, especially since as far as I’m aware, the legend believed to be down there as detailed in the two very old journals merely makes it seem to be linked to Paldea’s Terastral phenomenon, not unlike how an Eternatus was responsible for Galar’s Dynamax phenomenon and thus Gigantimax forms.
Also, you bringing up the Dangerous Legendary License reminds me of thankful I got that license not too long after the incident where the Buzzwole that’s now been under my care and living at the shelter/adoption center near the Crown Tundra of Galar I live at and help run showed up, broke into one of the food sheds, drank a few large barrels worth of berry juice, then got into a fight fight with my old Incineroar pal out of fright. Man, that was a roller coaster, though thankfully Julien, the previously mentioned Incineroar, was able to calm the Buzzwole, who is now often called Hogan for a reason I can’t recall but was decided upon after it was clear they weren’t leaving, down enough that we could sort things out.
As for the Koraidon and Xurkitree duo I’ve mentioned, each named Emir and Electro, it’s even more surprising they’ve each appeared in ways that would make it likely for them to be distrustful to anyone they don’t know well. Electro showed up in the slopes of Freezington, having fled from something after arriving. I’m not sure what, but I think the nearby caves had something they were scared of and fled, hurting themself in the process, but thankfully a bit of time and light physical therapy with my Corviknight Arthur and my Dracozolt Volt helped out with that, but even so they’ve been far friendlier and less prone to paranoia than I expected. As for Emir, they seem to have arrived in a space-time rift, not unlike the ones that have occasionally brought ancient Pokemon like Kelavor to the modern day, and flew around for a bit, but ended up tangled in old power lines and crashing in the shelter’s main and largest yard area, and mercifully found quick quickly by another recent new resident in the Skeledirge I ended up taking in as a Fuecoco a few weeks backed and have named Cantante. Back to Emir, they needed a few days to recover from that, though thankfully with no major wounds. That’s when Electro came in to say hello in a sense, and though it was clearly quite awkward at first, by the time Emir was clear for physical activity, they immediately did a climbing race.
Now then, I’d anything else interesting happens, I’ll be sure to let you know.
Honestly, that theory about something at the bottom of the Crater may hold some weight - there have been reports of Paradox Pokemon in the crater since well before the time machine at the base was operational, and oddly accurate depictions of them have been found in journals and magazines. This indicates that, somehow, the Paradox Pokemon pulled in by the time machine weren't the first to arrive.
Meddling from a Dialga or Celebi is the main suspect, but some Pokemon down there that we don't know much about - mentioned in the same oddly accurate sources - could be the culprit, especially given that it seems that the time machine was powered by Terastal energy. Expeditions down there have been proposed to try and go past the lab and see what it is, but that's on hold until everything else calms down a little. I probably wouldn't be on the forefront of anything like that, but I'm fairly sure I can guess who would be.
Regarding the parallels, though…I think it's something like convergent evolution, if what we believe we know about Paradox Pokemon is true. They arose from similar circumstances - harsh environments, very different from here and now, brought here by humans - and that leads to similar traits, a bit like how Diglett and Wiglett look so similar. It's much less dramatic, but it seems to make a lot of sense.
Buzzwole is definitely under that license, as is Xurkitree despite their less...intense personality, so it's good that you have one! And it sounds like you got Hogan kind of the same way I did Lilith - a Pokemon broke in, freaked out, and got in a fight. The Berry Juice thing is kind of hilarious though.
It's wonderful that both those Pokemon have recovered well and are getting along! Just being summoned here from their home, and especially being hurt or scared right after, can have a lot of effect on a Pokemon's psyche. It seems like you're very well-equipped for this, which is incredibly lucky for these Pokemon!
