#I want Ranmaru to carry me in her arms too

These girls gave me a completely unexpected influx of inspiration, I have not felt such involvement in any work for a long time
Tumblr media
They got caught in the rain, so their hair is wet. Ichiko probably turned her leg, so Ranmaru carries her in her arms. Although, knowing Ranmaru, she can carry it just like that
Ranmaru is so strong, she constantly just grabs Ichiko in her arms and drags her somewhere, at this rate I will start collecting a collection of screenshots with these moments

Ranmaru, T is for Taste, 🥵
The flavor is spicy and sweet xD Might have gotten carried away on this one. No apologies! Approx 900 words of some spicy smutty deliciousness.
The evening was hot. A cloying, damp heat that made any clothing cling to the body and sweat pearl on the skin. Ranmaru lounged on the balcony, hoping to catch even a slight breeze. Night should bring relief, he thought.
Only the setting sun had brought only a lightless heat, a darkness that lay on him like a thick and heavy blanket. He considered stripping his kimono and just lying here on the polished wood in nothing but his skin.
“Umm, Ranmaru? Are you here?” The chatelaine’s voice called from the doorway of his room.
“Out here,” he called, a smile on his lips. An unexpected visit from his favorite person.
She came out with a tray in hand and gave him a look. "It's really not fair, you know. Having to date a guy that makes being sweaty and hot look good."
"I try to look good for you," he laughed, feeling a little self conscious. His beauty was a weapon he knew how to use, a shield to hide behind. "What's not fair, anyway? Have you looked in a mirror today?" He winked at her playfully.
She was wearing just a thin linen kimono, the sort one might wear under a heavier fabric. It clung to the rise of her breasts and the swell of her curves. Curls of hair stuck to the back and sides of her neck from sweat, and her cheeks were flushed from the heat. She was beautiful even if she didn't know it.
“I brought us some treats.” She sat down beside him with a little sigh and set the tray down. It was full of sliced fruits and little jellies. “They were supposed to go to Nobunaga’s diplomatic council meeting, but he said he wasn’t to be disturbed so . . .” Her mischievous grin said the rest.
“You naughty girl,” Ranmaru laughed. “You’ll get us both in trouble!” He reached for a jelly and popped it between his lips. It was tart and sweet, and a little cool on his tongue.
She picked up a bit of plum. “Nah, he won’t even notice.” She took a bite of the fruit, the sticky juice staining her lips and fingers.
“Let me have a taste,” Ranmaru caught her hand as she reached for another slice.
“Sure,” she laughed, and tried to pick up another piece, but he tugged her hand to him. “You have to let me go if you want me to get one for you!”
He grinned, enjoying her flustered confusion. She was so adorably naive sometimes, and it made him feel even more wicked. He closed his lips around the tip of her finger, suckling the juice from her skin.
The chatelaine gasped, but didn’t try to pull away.
Emboldened, Ranmaru’s tongue caressed her finger tip and then lapped at the skin of her finger. The plum juice was sweet, but it was the taste of her skin that made him bring each finger to his lips, and press his mouth to her palm. She tasted of fruit and the saltiness of sweat, and under that, a mild flavor that was just her - an amalgamation of her soap and perfume and lotion and skin.
She made a pleased, breathy moan as his lips closed over her pulse. “R-ranmaru! What if - if someone sees?”
He laughed, pulling her into his lap. “Only the stars can see us up here.” Ranmaru caught her mouth with his, nipping at her lips. His playful tongue teased her, and tasted her. The plum was vibrant, and the flavor of sake too.
The chatelaine kissed him back, enthusiastic with her affection.
Ranmaru broke the kiss to lean her back. The kimono was easy to untie, and he pushed the linen aside to bare her breasts. She was so beautiful. He could not help but marvel at the perfection of her in his arms. Perhaps there were more lovely women in this world, but none to his eyes. There was only her.
Her skin dimpled and her nipples hardened at the sudden exposure.
“They look like ripe little berries,” he grinned, his thumbs stroking the hardened little peaks. “I wonder what they taste like.”
“Like the rest of me, I imagine?” She tried to joke, but the catch in her breath gave away her desire. She arched as his lips closed over the nipple closest to him and gasped at the light scrape of his teeth as he toyed with it.
Ranmaru savored her, indulging his love for teasing with tiny nips and slow, languorous pulls. His fingers played gently down her abdomen, eliciting a wriggle in her hips. “You taste like heaven,” he told her, because it was how he felt. She was divine.
“Heaven?” She laughed softly. “You’re exaggerating.”
“I don’t exaggerate! How would you know, anyway? Did you ever taste yourself?” He flicked his tongue over her nipple, enjoying the sharp intake of breath the touch caused.
“N-no . . .”
Ranmaru grinned. “But . . . maybe you’re right. I should check.” He let the tip of his tongue draw little, tight circles around her areola. The skin flushed with heat, and she made a helpless little sound like a mew.
He switched to the other breast, pretending a thoughtful expression. “Mmm, I think the other one is a little sweeter.” His wandering hand traced the line of her thigh, brushing lightly against the soft thatch of hair between her legs while he spoke.
The chatelaine’s hips twitched and wriggled at the touch.
“Oh? What’s that? I should taste more of you?” He slipped her to the wood floor of the balcony and held himself above her, one knee between her legs, a hand braced beside her head.
She made a face, equal parts desire and embarrassment. “You’re teasing me!”
Ranmaru kissed her, letting his fingers slide down into that downy patch. He parted the slick cleft there, teasing out the pearl at its center. “Am I? Teasing?”
The strangled noise of pleasure and frustration was almost too good.
“I wonder,” he mused as he kissed down her neck and chest, “if the flavor is like a peach?” He licked and nipped down her belly, pausing as he regarded the sight of her spread open and sticky with desire. “I love peaches.”

My Pirate Lord and Our Life Ch. 31
Chapter 31
Motonari had been listening to the Oda forces in their conversation. He knew that they had figured out by his own actions that Ava was pregnant. He almost had to shake his head at himself. Never would he have guessed that he would have been the one to give them away. Apparently Ava had planted a few more of her flowers in his head.
"You have more news to share with us, Fireball?" Nobunaga had asked looking at Ava.
Ava turned to Motonari, a questioning look on her face. He smiled at her. "Should have known yer buddies would figure it out. We might as well tell 'em." He knew she was excited and wanted to share the news anyways.
"Tell us what?" Hideyoshi asked.
Well that one's gonna be in denial about it till the words come out of Ava's mouth. Motonari thought. And they have the nerve to call my flower girl naive.
Ava smiled as she looked around the room. "I'm pregnant." She announced.
Hideyoshi had just taken a drink of his sake at that point. Motonari watched with a barely concealed smirk as Hideyoshi choked on his sake and began to cough.
Mitsuhide and Keiji were reaching over and patting him on the back. "Boy, you sure get choked up with every piece of news that comes from Ava about her and Motonari huh?" Keiji asked.
"It really shouldn't be that surprising, Hideyoshi." Mitsuhide added. "You were at their wedding after all."
"That's wonderful news for you, Lady Ava!" Ranmaru exclaimed. "I mean aside from Motonari totally not deserving you or this happiness, but if you're happy then I'm happy for you."
"Many blessings to you and the child." Kennyo said. "Truly a joyous occasion."
"I am only saddened by the fact that it is not my child you carry, goddess." Shingen added.
"It's too bad you don't live in Azuchi anymore." Masamune said. "I bet you'll be adorable as you get farther along."
"Just imagining you waddling about the halls is an entertaining notion." Mitsuhide agreed.
"Well, now ya just gave me reason to not invite any of ya back here." Motonari said, wrapping an arm around Ava's waist and pulling her closer.
"You know they're saying that just to get a rise out of the both of us, right?" She asked him.
"Don't matter." Motonari replied. "Especially 'coz they're right. Yer gonna be adorable."
She blushed as she looked up at him. "You're just saying that..."
"No, I ain't. I ain't ever lyin' to ya again."
Ava smiled, knowing he really did mean what he was saying. He may still have been the God of Deceit when it came to the battlefield, but he wasn't with her. It was a vow he had made to her and to himself.
"We should have a toast!" Keiji exclaimed, pulling Motonari and Ava out of the little bubble they had found themselves in.
"No, no we shouldn't." Hideyoshi said, standing up. "This...this is unacceptable."
"Yer actin' like I've stolen m'lady's virtue or somethin'." Motonari remarked.
"You may as well have." Hideyoshi replied.
"I would have though after what ya walked in on when we was stayin' in Azuchi ya would have learned I ain't forced nothin' on her." Motonari quipped.
Hideyoshi stammered for a moment.
"So, that explains why he couldn't look at the two of them." Mitsuhide said with an amused smile.
Ava turned to Hideyoshi a mixture of hurt and anger in her eyes. "I thought you promised to stop this." She said, her tone angry though her voice quaking just a bit on the emotion.
"Ava...I..."
"This is a really happy occasion for me and Motonari. Is it too much to ask for all of the people I care about to share in that happiness?" She said to him. She was then looking over at Motonari. "And you, you're not innocent here either. Do you really have to egg him on?"
Motonari looked at his wife. He was speechless. He knew she wanted everyone to get along, but it was hard for him not to bite back when Hideyoshi got like this.
Ava let out a sigh and then she was getting up. "I'm tired." She said exiting the room.
"Shit." Motonari muttered.
"If I were all of you guys, I would leave her alone." Misa spoke up. "Just for a little while anyways."
The party continued for a while longer before both Motonari and Hideyoshi were exiting, presumably to go cool off and work on apologies to Ava. Once they were gone, Misa somehow found herself going to sit by Mitsuhide, Masamune, and Keiji. Being around this group had been a bit nerve-wracking until she saw the way they all seemed to cow to Ava's reprimand. Obviously most of these men cared about Ava and so she felt she could count them as good people for appreciating a person she loved so much.
"I am surprised you did not immediately chase after Ava." Mitsuhide said, eyeing Misa. "As well as you have chosen an interesting place to seat yourself."
"It's probably the sake." She answered.
"Or you're curious about something." Mitsuhide replied.
"You know, it's really creepy how you do that to everyone, Mitsuhide." Keiji said.
"He can't help himself." Masamune replied, moving closer to Misa.
Misa looked at him. She put a hand on his chest and pushed back. "Learn the definition of personal space, 'kay." She then turned back to Mitsuhide. "But you are right, I am curious about something."
"And you thought I was the best place to come for information?" Mitsuhide asked.
"Yeah, you seem slippery enough to know a lot." Misa answered.
Mitsuhide gave her smile. "Alright."
"What's the deal with all the animosity between Hideyoshi and Motonari?" Misa asked.
The three men laughed. Mitsuhide looked over his sake cup at Misa, amber eyes reading her every line of her face. "I take it Ava didn't give you the entire story of the beginning of her relationship with Motonari?"
"All she said was that it was an enemies to lovers thing." Misa answered.
Masamune was laughing. "She gave you the really short version then."
"Yeah, that is way too simple of a way to explain it." Keiji agreed.
"Hideyoshi's animosity towards Motonari comes from two factors, his extreme loyalty to Lord Nobunaga and his view of Ava as a younger sister." Mitsuhide began. He then told the take of how Motonari had posed as just a merchant and used Ava to infiltrate the Oda forces.
"He BOUGHT her?!" Misa exclaimed.
"Yes...after arranging for her to be at this auction in the first place." Mitsuhide said.
"All so he could appear a hero and get in good with us." Masamune said. "Can't say it wasn't a brilliant plan."
The three men continued their explanation. Misa's head was spinning by the end of it. Part of her was mad, but then she just had to laugh.
"W-why are you laughing?" Keiji asked.
Misa looked at the three men who were looking at her curiously. "Falling for someone who is completely broken and starts off as an ass to her...that's...it's just completely Ava. She has a talent for bringing anyone who tries to make her hate them...well for making them love her."
"You speak as if you have experience in that matter."Mitsuhide observed.
"Yeah." Though Misa did not elaborate more.
As the party in the main hall continued on, Motonari found his way outside. He looked out at the garden. His gaze flitted over the flowers, some night blooming ones catching his eye. In the earlier days of his relationship with Ava, he'd found her out here in the garden several times, looking out at the flowers.
"How is it I can still mess this up?" He muttered to himself. He raked a gloved hand through his hair in frustration. He recalled some of the movies he had watched with Ava in her time and thought of something that the guys in those movies did when they screwed up and pissed off their wives.
Motonari found himself walking out into the garden and picked a few of the flowers before turning and heading back inside. He went into the kitchen and whipped up some quick food and se it on a tray as well as placed the flowers in a small vase and set them on the tray.
Once he was satisfied with his arrangements, he made his way to the room he and Ava shared. He found her sitting out on the veranda, wrapped in the haori he'd given her. "Are ya still pissed at me?" He asked.
"Yes...no...maybe...I don't know." Ava answered, not turning to look back at him, though he could hear the tears in her voice.
His heart squeezed at hearing that strain in her voice and knowing that he had contributed to it. He walked over and sat down by her, putting the tray of food and flowers between them. "I'm...sorry that I didn't help the situation none."
Ava looked over at the tray seeing the food and the flowers. Her gaze then went to Motonari who definitely looked repentant. She then let out a sigh. "I'm not...really mad at you...I'm more hurt by Hideyoshi and just mad at the situation." She answered.
Motonari removed his gloves and placed a hand beneath her chin, coaxing her gaze up to meet his. "Still...me and my mouth...sometimes I don't help make things easier."
"Maybe I'm just hoping for too much." She replied.
"I'll started doin' better to try not to aggervate him more...at least when yer around."
Ava let out a small laugh at that. "I'm sorry I got so upset."
"Don't apologize." Motonari told her. "You know...the only reason I do that is because...well I'm jealous."
Ava raised a brow. "Of Hideyoshi?"
"Yeah, I don't care what he says, he don't think of ya as a little sister."
Ava couldn't help but to smile. "Is it that hard for you to believe?"
"Yeah, pretty sure he's lyin' to himself as much as he is to everyone else about it." Motonari admitted. "The reason I get like that with 'im...is 'cause I wanna remind him that yer mine."
Ava pushed the tray back so that it was no longer between them. She then climbed onto Motonari's lap, settling herself there, her legs wrapping around his waist as her arms wrapped around his neck.
"What're ya up to, flower girl?" He asked as he put his arms around her waist.
"Just reminding YOU that I am all yours." She answered with a smile. She was then pressing her lips to his.
Motonari grinned into the kiss as he pulled her closer. He felt her hips grind against the hard lump already forming in his pants. He groaned and then slid a hand up to cup her breast through her kimono. It wasn't long before he was picking her up and carrying her back into the bedroom and laying her down in their futon, where they spent the evening making up.
Sasuke, Shingen, Kenshin, and Yukimura...
After the party had ended, Sasuke had called a meeting of his friends together. "What is it you wanted to talk about, Sasuke?" Shingen asked.
"Your health Lord Shingen." Sasuke answered.
"I'm as healthy as a horse." Shingen remarked.
"Lord Shingen..." Yukimura said.
Shingen turned a fatherly smile to Yukimura. "Look, we have Kai back thanks to this new alliance and peace will be returning..."
"Lord Shingen, in the future I come from...medicine has advanced greatly. We have cures for many diseases..." Sasuke began.
"You think your future can cure him?" Yukimura asked.
Sasuke nodded. "Yes and in six months time there will be another wormhole opening up. Ava has more friends who will be coming to visit as there will be another wormhole six months after that that they can use to return home."
"You want to leave me again, Sasuke?" Kenshin asked.
"Just long enough to take Lord Shingen to the future to have his illness treated." Sasuke answered.
"Sasuke, I don't know about this." Shingen began to protest.
"If there's even a small chance, you have to try." Yukimura said. "What good is the future if you don't get to see it? What good is it if you don't get to be a part of it?"
Shingen saw the passion in his young vassal's eyes. He saw how much the others cared for him. He let out a sigh. "Alright."
Sasuke looked at Kenshin. "Do I have your permission, Lord Kenshin?"
Kenshin let out a sigh. "Fine." He then looked at Shingen. "But you had better not die in this future. You have to come back and make sure you die by my sword."
Shingen smiled. "Alright, though I would prefer to not die if I am going to this future to avoid death."

...i would like to request a part 2 of the Kennyo×Reader×Y!Nobunaga plz only if you want to I understand if you cant/dont want to I just loved it so much 😣💘❤
All For Her - Yandere!Nobunaga X Reader X Kennyo PT 2
PART 1, ALTERNATE ENDING
Not gonna lie to you, it was so hard to pick an ending for this. I enjoyed writing the conclusion to this work that I'm sad to see it end. Don't worry, I have many Yandere works I'm still working on!
Because you requested for a second part, I decided to make this a bit of a more hurt/comfort type since I wanted to give you some happiness in this work.
TW: Yandere, Self-Poisoning, Hurt/comfort
"How would you like to rule the world by my side?"
Those words…
Those words were your death sentence.
~○~
"Your death will surely be my greatest victory," Nobunaga cried, swinging his sword at the monk. "The people would find it heroic how I rescued my bride from the Ikko Ikki's leader―"
"You defiled her!" Kennyo roared, unsheathing his staff. He blocked the rampant parries of the Devil King. "And you think that's love."
~○~
"This will be the last time you hold her, Kennyo."
He roared, howling at the pain of the sword. Kennyo fell to the ground, the stab to his shoulder numbing all of his senses as the blade cuts deep into his flesh.
"Perhaps YN would cast you away if I scar your face once again… Oh… How adorable she'd look to you in horror with the new scars I give you," Nobunaga teased, his menacing tone only edging his sword. "Or, I should kill you right here, and your head should be my bride's present…"
"Not so fast, Nobunaga."
A uniform of dark blue came to view, and two twin shining katanas.
"Masamune… Should I consider this a betrayal or a duel?"
"Consider this your loss," Masamune confidently chided.
"Why... Why do you defend a demon One Eyed Dragon?!"
Masamune struggles against Nobunaga's sword, pushing him away and giving distance between them. "Abbot... I'm not defending you. I'm doing this for her," He said, smiling at the man who won his Kitten's heart. "I'll let her be happy with you. Anything, just anything away from the Oda. Now go."
"You'll be in my prayers, Date."
Kennyo hung onto Ranmaru, the swishing of swords and cries of confusion dying down as Ranmaru escorts him away from the battlefield.
Masamune heaves out, taking a large blow to his chest as the Devil King of the Sixth Heaven holds a sword to his neck.
"How would you like to lose the other eye for treason, Date Masamune?"
SHING
"Apologies Lord Nobunaga."
"You owe me one, Masamune."
Ieyasu and Mitsunari raised their swords at Nobunaga, blocking the oncoming attack from reaching Masamune's neck.
"Oi, Date Dragon, don't fall just yet…" Keiji said, holding onto Masamune, with Kojuro trying to stop the bleeding from Masamune's armour.
"I won't Keiji… Not until I see her happy…" He said, passing out from the fight.
~○~
"Kennyo!" You were frightened by the red stains on his kimono as Ranmaru brought him in from the battlefield. Before you confronted Kennyo, Sasuke bowed to you, joining up with his group.
"YN, I'm glad we meet again but I must go on with Kenshin's plan."
You bowed to both Sasuke and Ranmaru, appreciating their help.
You tried to wrap and dress his wound as quickly as you could, salvaging any amount of salve you could. Kennyo winced in pain, enduring it for now.
After dressing his wound, you couldn't stop shaking. He was weak at the moment, barely opening his eyes. You could feel his hand reach out to yours, and you brought it to your cheek.
"YN… I'm sorry I couldn't protect you…" He said, trembling under the thought of the battle.
"He… He did this to you…" You whispered, frightened of the thought of Nobunaga and the terror he brought on to the battlefield.
Kennyo tapped your palm once again, bringing you to listen to him. "The Date Dragon saved me, YN… For that I am grateful…" He coughed, pressing his hand down on his chest. You quickly cleaned up any saliva that seeped out, begging him to take rest.
Enough was enough, you thought.
You couldn’t afford anyone else to be hurt.
Be it your friends in the Oda; Masamune, Hideyoshi, Ieyasu…
Or be it your friends you met through Kennyo; Kenshin, Ranmaru, Yukimura…
You couldn't.
Not for your selfish reasons.
Once Kennyo had passed out, you kissed his temple, whispering your affections and apologies.
"My love… I'm sorry… Live for me, won't you?"
~○~
You ordered one of the guards to carry you on horseback as swiftly as the horse could to the battlefield. You clutched the napkin carefully, your eyes searching for the warlords.
Without hesitation, you jumped off the horse, running up to where Ieyasu and Mitsunari were holding off Nobunaga.
Ripping off your hood, you revealed yourself to the warlords. "NOBUNAGA! I CALL TRUCE!"
Nobunaga saw your face, and he blocked off his allies, reaching out to you.
"She said, she called for truce," Kenshin said, standing next to you and guarding you.
Once all the troops had returned, you allied yourself with the Uesugi-Takeda warlords as the warlords of the Oda alliance reluctantly sided with their commander.
Nobunaga spoke first, "Now, my Princess, did you call truce to willingly return to me?"
You firmly replied, casting away your anxious subconscious at the sound of his voice, "I'd be a fool."
"Instead," You spoke again. "Let the Uesugi-Takeda leave. Let me stay with them, in exchange for the Oda claiming this land and the resources here."
They did not word it, but Kenshin and Shingen stood by you with no rebuttals. Your heart stilled at their silent agreement and support.
Shingen added on, "Consider the Princess collateral for your war, Nobunaga. With her, the alliance has reason to believe you won't be a threat to us."
Nobunaga was unimpressed, reaching for his katana. "What half-assed words… There is no benefit to the Oda in this arrangement."
The other warlords of the Oda were dumbfounded. Hideyoshi spoke up, "My lord! This is considerably generous-"
"Do not cross me."
You shivered, remembering the cold tone of that voice. No, this was not the time to give in. You threatened the warlords, revealing the needle closer to your skin. "Let me go, or you will have nothing to live for, Oda Nobunaga."
Those manipulative eyes quickly looked in horror as you pricked yourself, the poison quickly drawing into your system.
"YN!" Sasuke cried out. Yoshimoto quickly caught you, but you stopped Yoshimoto from touching the wound.
"Suffer as I did, Nobunaga."
The Devil of the Sixth Heaven, in front of his vassals, fell to his knees.
"Ieyasu!" He roared. "Heal her!"
The Tokugawa lord did not budge an inch.
Ieyasu curtly responded. "Call off the war, then I'll do it."
"Too little too late, Nobunaga," Masamune said, sheathing his katana. "Your allies will abandon you if you go on with this war."
"Lord Nobunaga, no, Nobunaga," Hideyoshi claimed. "Return the admirable lord I served, not one who falls so easily."
Kenshin chipped in, "I will retreat my troops as well, Oda. You're not a worthy opponent now, so fight me once you've gained your honour."
The Uesugi-Takeda warlords stood behind you, as Yoshimoto clutched your poisoned body.
"Foolish girl, you knew this would finish him," Yoshimoto whispered, trying to discretely draw out the poison.
"It's done. The Oda will retreat."
The moment Nobunaga said those words, Ieyasu rushed to your side, immediately drawing out the poison from your blood. "Honestly, you're such an idiot after all this time," He scolded, a tear or two slipping down his cheek.
"And not one of you has changed," You said. "Ieyasu, everyone, thank you…"
All you saw was your dearest friends crying out for you as the world turned black.
~○~
Days later, you woke up in your room at Kenshin's place. Nothing but seeing Kennyo entered your mind, as you raced to his room.
"Kennyo!"
"YN?" He was well and up in his futon, being visited by the Uesugi-Takeda group.
You jumped into his arms, finally being able to feel his warmth.
"I heard what you did, my dear…" He said, sitting you on his lap. "Thank you."
You shook your head, "It was for you, for everything you'd granted to me. My freedom, my livelihood… and love," You said, looking up to your lover. "For that, Kennyo, may I marry you and can we stay together until our time ends?"
Kennyo himself was shocked, not expecting such words from you. He turned red, and unexpectedly the warlords still didn't leave the room.
"C'mon old friend! Your lovely lady proposed to you!" Shingen cheered on.
Sasuke and Yoshimoto nodded. "What a wholesome ending," Yoshimoto added on.
"Gosh, why do I have to witness th-"
Yukimura was quickly silenced by his lord and his best friend. Kenshin simply smiled, drinking his sake in response.
Kennyo hugged you, his tears soaking your kimono. "My love… I will. I will live for you and stay with you until our time ends."
"You swear on it?"
"Of course, it’s all for you."
~○~
"LN Kenta! Are you listening?!"
The boy slumped his head to the desk, reiterating the history lesson, "-And the leader Ikko Ikki was rumoured to have escaped the battlefield with Lady LN YN but no proof has ever been found except for a bear made by Lady LN left in Kennyo's temple…"
"Right!" The history teacher exclaimed. "Next test will be about Oda Nobunaga's married life, including the tale of Lady LN and all relating battles…"
Kenta shuffled out of the classroom, slinging his jacket over his shoulders and then and there, he saw his lover Mai waiting for him.
"You could've eaten on your own…"
She smiled at her boyfriend, leaning on his shoulder. "Well, food's better when you're around people you love!"
Unbeknownst to the couple's eyes, a stalking figure of the captain of the baseball team watched them, his gaze envious at LN Kenta.
"Oi! Oda-senpai!"
"Oda Nozaki! Hurry up!"
The dark haired boy shifted away from his hiding spot, putting on his cheerful façade in front of his kouhai and friends. "Guys! I'm here…"
"Sheesh… Took you long enough…"
"I bet Oda-senpai was staring at the Drama Club's tailor again… Katakura Mai-san right?"
Nozaki shushed his teasing kouhai, shoving their caps straight on. "Hey, don't waste your time on gossip. We've got a war to train for."
"It's just a friendly match Nozaki!"
As the group went ahead, Nozaki trailed behind, taking one more glance at his beloved Mai.
It's alright, my little fireball. This rivalry between me and Kenta…
It's all for you.

Chapter three: That’s What You Get
Series Masterlist•<previous•next>
—————
After explaining to his friends what he had just witnessed, Semi excused himself to get some water before he blew up. Semi knew how he could be when he became overwhelmed with his thoughts. He could bark and bite hard with whatever words came out of his mouth if he didn’t think rationally enough. But it’s not easy to suppress actions when trying to figure out your emotions.
“Hi, Semi,” you spoke in shock, not expecting to see him when he opened the door you were about to push.
“Hey,” he responded plainly.
“I have good news I wanted to share with-“
“I know, you and Tendou are together. Congrats,” Semi cut you off, walking past you and into the room full of people.
All you could do was watch his figure disappear into the crowd as you stood disappointed. “I was gonna tell you about my band,” you mumbled to no one before stepping out to get some water since you didn’t trust the punch bowl. When you came back inside you spent the majority of the time left with your new friends and gave them the news first instead. They were just as excited as you where when you first found out.
“We have some good news too!” Haruka spoke.
“We think we came up with the music to go along with one of the songs,” Yui said.
“Let’s put it together this weekend!” Izumi finished.
-
The following school day you decided to stop by some of your old teachers rooms in between classes and say your goodbye and thanks to them since it was the last week of school for the third years. While passing by the first years side of the building, you saw Goshiki and decided to greet him since you rarely had the opportunity to see him. “Goshiki, hi,” you smiled at him which resulted in him widening his eyes and stiffening when he realized you were in front of him.
“I- uh, hello y/n. I have to really go now you see and I uh... bye!” he exclaimed before gripping his bag and scurrying off.
“That’s odd,” you thought to yourself. In the times you’ve spoken to Goshiki he was always very interested in your conversations and got disappointed when either of you had to end it. He wasn’t even making eye contact with you throughout the whole thing. If anything, it seemed like he was terrified of you.
The next day you passed by the second year’s side. You were about to put your hand on the handle but before you could, the door was pushed from the other side. “Ow!” you exclaimed while rubbing the side of your head since the metal door hit you unexpectedly.
“Y/n! I’m so sorry!” Jiro exclaimed before using one hand to hold your shoulder and the other to help you soothe the pain. “Are you okay?”
“Honestly, not really. That hurt pretty bad, Jiro,” you told him with tears brimming your eyes. Guilt filled his heterochromatic eyes as he helped you. As he was apologizing for his actions he felt a glare on him. Looking up and past you, he saw his band leader with his eyes locked on him as he walked past with Ranmaru and Subaru. Tensing up, Jiro immediately excused himself from you and ran over to his band mates but you were too engrossed with the pain to notice who he ran off to.
That’s the second time someone you thought you were friends with completely brushed you off and it hurt. You weren’t the closest with them but at the end of the day it’s not fun being treated like a passerby. Could you be overthinking which made your emotions overreact? Maybe, but you didn’t wanna have your last possible interaction with anyone to be like that. You have a week left, who knows if you’ll see anyone again after graduating.
Deciding to skip visiting your second year teachers because of the pain you were in, you went to the practice room instead. When you arrived you could hear the girls voices as well as a males that sounded familiar.
“Shirabu? Why are you here?”
“Y/n, hey- what happened to your face?” Shirabu asked before putting down his bag when he noticed you holding onto your face. “Let me see, please.” You put your hands down and let him carefully examine your face. “Scale of one to ten, how bad does this hurt?”
“Six? It was a twelve when it first happened,” you responded, wincing when he gently touched your cheek and brow bone.
“Well good news, it’s nothing too bad, just a little bruised,” he stated turning to pick up his belongings. “I came here to talk with Haruka about some homework before heading to practice.”
“Y/n, what happened?” Haruka asked with her arms open to give you a hug. Yui and Izumi were there as well and walked over to place a hand on your shoulder for comfort.
“I went to go open a door to get into the second years building and Jiro got to it before I did so it accidentally hit me.”
“Did he at least apologize?” Izumi asked while rubbing your back.
“Yeah but then he ran off. We were just fine and then it was like he saw a ghost or something.”
“Stupid, Semi,” Shirabu muttered.
“What’s he got to do with it, bowl-cut?” Yui asked.
Shirabu ignored her insult and turned to you. “Semi told us to stop talking to you this morning at practice so we don’t mention anything about you to him. Since Jiro acted that way I assume he also told whoever else is in his band.”
You were speechless. You knew Semi like the back of your hand, something like this seems so out of character for him. “Are you being serious?” You weren’t close with Shirabu. You really just knew him as a brat because that’s what Semi would refer to him as so it’s not like you could fully trust him. But at the same time you couldn’t picture him as a liar.
“It’s true.”
Without any reason holding you back, you dropped your bag and turned to sprint to the room you knew your former friend would be in. The girls and Shirabu startled by your actions ran after you as well.
“Y/n, wait up!” Izumi yelled after you but it was no use, you just kept going.
“Where are you going?” Haruka asked.
Shirabu being in the lead of your band members was able to pick up on the direction you were going. “The gym!” He said before breaking off with the group to take a different path.
Haruka and Izumi stopped running, confused on if they should keep following you for him. “Girls let’s go, we gotta back her up.” Yui spoke as she passed the two.
“Right!” They responded before picking up the pace again in an attempt to catch up to you.
In all honesty you had no clue what you were gonna do when you saw him. You just know you wanted to give him a piece of your mind even if it meant disrupting the volleyball team’s practice. Right now, all you could see was red. You had no clue why he would do something like that and what his issue with you was for him to do something like this to you. You’ve never felt a rage towards him until now.
“Gotcha!” Shirabu announced when he finally caught up to you right outside of the gym. He wrapped his arms around your torso and held you tight.
“Get me go!” You yelled while squirming to get out of his grip.
“Y/n!” Izumi called out when they reached you.
“Shirabu, let me go!”
“No!”
“What is going on?” Ushijima asked when he opened gym doors, confused by the scene in front of him.
“Where the hell is he?” You asked.
“What are you doing here?” Semi asked as he approached the scene after hearing your voice.
“What the fuck is your problem?” You asked the former setter while the current one held your arms back.
“Don’t touch her, let her go,” Semi warned the second year before turning back to you. In Shirabu fashion, he complied but held his glare. “What do you mean what’s my fucking problem?”
“Why would you tell people to stop talking to me? I thought we could talk about our problems instead of doing stupid petty shit like this.”
“Then why the hell are you causing a scene in front of so many people instead of coming to me in private? Explain that?” Semi asked, tone getting louder with each word.
“You started it first! It’s one thing to keep our business between us but when you bring other people into it that’s just messed up!”
The more your volume increased, the more his patience was wearing thin. “Can you shut the fuck up and come talk about this after practice? You’re being such a bitch right now!”
“Oh my god, I can’t believe I ever fell for someone like you. You’re such an asshole Semi, ya know that?”
Semi froze at your confession but couldn’t let his pride lose. “Is that why you’re dating one of my best friends now, huh? You’re the one who started this mess.”
Now you’ve had enough. Without warning, you charged at him only to be stopped by your boyfriend. “Alrighty, I’ll take this. Time to go,” Tendou spoke as he threw you over his shoulder. “I’m skipping practice Wakatoshi! Tell the juniors I’ll see them tomorrow morning! Ladies, I’ll take care of her,” he spoke while walking away from the group to take you to your dorm.
Leaving the group dumbfounded all you could do was fall limp as Tendou carried you. Letting silent tears fall down your face, you looked at the ground.
“You can’t just go starting fights, ya know?” Tendou spoke softly.
“I know,” you mumbled. You sounded so broken. Semi and you were done. There’s no going back. Your friendship was completely destroyed after that fight and it didn’t help that you even let your true feelings slip. “I’m sorry I told him I liked him even though I’m with you.”
“It’s okay. I know you were heated in the moment. What he said also pissed me off a little. Can you unlock your door?” He told you as he placed you down. You turned to unlock the door and made your way to your bed as Tendou followed you. He pulled back the blanket and let you go in first before he joined you. Tendou laid on his side as you did the same, facing each other. “Wanna talk about it?” He asked while rubbing your back.
“No,” you told him, exhausted from the screaming match and the burn along your throat from it. “I hate yelling,” you told him as you buried your face into his neck.
“I know. Me too. Can I asked what happened to your face? I see you got a boo boo,” Tendou cooed, trying to make you laugh to which he succeeded.
“I got a door to the face.”
“That sounds like fun! I should get hit by one too so we match.”
The rest of the afternoon, Tendou spent it comforting you.
-
Semi spent it getting yelled at my Ranmaru and Subaru for being mean to you after Jiro told them about the door incident and the new school gossip.
“You goddamn idiot!” Subaru barked as he gripped Semi’s shirt collar.
“Why did you think that was a good idea?!” Ranmaru joined in on the scolding.
Semi just stood taking the heat from his band mates. He was tired and had his mind cloudy from your argument.
“Are you gonna fucking speak up or what?”
“I don’t know...” he mumbled.
“What?”
“I said I don’t know why! Now get the hell off me!” Semi yelled as he gripped Subaru’s wrist and yanked it off of him. Semi looked into his school mates eyes before looking at Jiro who was sitting on the couch, hugging his knees to his chest. “It’s not my fault he hit her in the face with a door,” Semi spat, making the underclass man raise his head.
Jiro furrowed his eyebrows before opening his mouth but Ranmaru wasn’t having it. “Don’t put the blame on him when you’re the one that threatened him. Apologize to him.”
“No. Why the hell would I? It’s his fault.”
Subaru and Ranmaru were about to grab Semi again but stopped when hearing the raven haired boy speak up. “I’m not the one that didn’t have the balls to tell them how they felt! She loved you, Semi! You’re the one that was too blind to notice and then decided to go off with some other girl instead of confessing to Y/n! You told us about how you were feeling and we told you what it was! We all know you liked her, the whole school knew! Even your date which is why she broke up with you at the dance! You were just too late to realize and now you’ve lost her. You have no one to blame but yourself for not talking to her earlier. That’s what you get!”
Jiro’s outburst left the older three boys stunned. They never would’ve expected him to speak up like he just did but that’s when they collectively agreed that they need to calm down.
“I’m sorry for yelling in your home, Ranmaru,” Jiro said while bowing his head in the process.
“Lift your head up, it’s okay. I’m sorry for yelling too.”
“Me three,” Subaru added on. They all looked at their leader, waiting for him to speak up.
“I’m sorry. Jiro, you’re right. I shouldn’t have directed my anger towards you when I’m just upset with myself. I am sincerely sorry.”
“It’s okay,” Jiro smiled. Semi smiled back and jumped on the couch next to him only to put his arm around him and use his other hand to mess with his hair. The guys laughed a bit with each other. Things felt the way they should.
“C’mon you guys, we’re at my parents place for practice and we have to head back to the dorms soon. Let’s play a couple songs,” Ranmaru stated.
-
The remainder of the week you and the girls spent it at the studio the record label provided so you could record your demo.
Semi spent it trying to find you to apologize directly. He knew your school schedule but you weren’t at any the locations you were supposed to be. He’s tried visiting your dorm, but you were never there and couldn’t come in the evening because of practice and the other things he had to finish up before graduating and everyone in the hallways would give him a glare. He even tried asking Shirabu about the practice room but he wouldn’t budge in giving out the information he knew.
“C’mon, pick up, pick up-“
“I’m sorry but the person you are trying to call is not available. At the tone, please leave a message or try calling again later.”
“No ring... that means... I’ve been blocked?”

Soo, can I please have Ieyasu, Ranmaru, Kennyo, Shingen, Kenshin, Mitsuhide, Mitsunari and Yuki (or just choose from them, I don't know how many is your limit 🥺💖) with chubby MC who is really insecure about it and somebody (maybe some maid or something?) tells her that she's fat and that she's not good enough for the warlords? 👉👈🥺💫💖 Thank chuu :3💖💫 (I would prefer drabble, but do whatever you're comfortable with! 💖💫)

Tumblr media
The world was unforgiving and the tongue cruel. You had known that even in the modern era where disgusted stares frequently followed you and harsh whispers were meant to be heard. 1582 was no different but you tried to be optimistic, believing that as long as you worked hard no one would dare to criticise you. How wrong you were.
The space was narrow as it was already and you felt a little clumsy while trying to move around alone. Add in another person and you had no idea what to do with your body, other than let yourself be poked and jabbed as the two of you tried to work around each other.
“Could stand to lose a little weight around that waist,” the maid had mildly commented in the end. Not really making clear to whom it was targeted, but seeing how slender she was compared to you, you were certain that it was aimed at you. A hot flash passed behind your eyes as you tried not to cry right here and then. Biting your lower lip you were quick to fake a smile before excusing yourself, rushing yourself away from the scene into privacy. It was there that he had found you...
Ieyasu
“Hey you,” the blond had gruffed, a little annoyed that he had to walk all over the castle to find you, only to find you idle in some dark corner. That annoyance was quickly dispersed when he saw your despondent form, the irritation of earlier replaced with worry as he squatted down next to you.
“What has you sulking this time?” he questions, but you give no response as you throw your arms over your knees, crawling even more into yourself both physically and mentally. A sight that the warlord couldn’t stand as he tugs at your arm.
“What happened?” Ieyasu’s stern voice sounds and you finally relent, allowing your arms to peel away from you as you face the man and repeat what had happened. By the end of the story his expression is placid, but you can see a fire burning behind his eyes as he brushes your hair.
“Silly, you are fine as you are. Who cares about the words of a dumb maid?” he scoffs, but you can hear the resentment he carries for the maid in question. It soon fades away as he softens at you, fingers trailing over your cheek.
“I think you look fine,” Ieyasu says and you know that coming from this man it meant ‘perfect’.
Ranmaru
“There you are!” Ranmaru’s boundless energy came to a skidding halt as he stopped next to you, expression faltering for a moment when he noted how upset you looked. Immediately the male sat down next to you as he leans over to peer at your face, his bubbly expression for once replaced with one of contemplation.
“What’s wrong?” he questions and you shift your face away, trying to morph away the sadness still lingering on your face as you suck in a breath. It was too late, however. The page had seen you upset and was not about to leave you alone until he got an answer. Thus you told him what the maid had said, trailing off a bit in the end as you wring your hands together.
“I know it is silly,” you breathe, but the male stops you as he places a hand over yours.
“Not at all!” Ranmaru exclaims, “but that maid sure is dumb for saying so. That is super shallow, but shows how she is all the more not worth your time!”
His eyes brighten up as he speaks, just as his voice pitches and you look up, facing a page from whom you could swear that he was emitting sparkles.
“Besides, I think you are the prettiest in the whoooooole world!” came his simple encouragement.
Kennyo
“You’re upset,” Kennyo spoke rather matter-of-factly when he found you in your little corner, but there was a tenderness in his voice as he knelt down next to you, a hand running over your back as he tried to comfort you in the way he knew. “Do you wish to speak of it?” he questions when he feels you shift and lean against him. You didn’t need much more encouragement to let it all out, explaining what the maid had said as the monk held you.
“We often hurt each other unconsciously, most often because there is something ugly within ourselves,” the man told you, a grim expression on his face as they contorted into something contemplative. “That doesn’t make what she said any more alright, but know that she spoke in spite, for you are more loved and more beautiful in heart than she ever shall be.”
The words are spoken hushed and in careful deliberation as he pulls you closer against you, stroking the back of your head with a gentle touch.
Shingen
With an information network like Shingen’s, and all around skill in conversation there was little that escapes Shingen’s attention, including the vile words directed at you from the maid.
“My goddess?” he approached you with those words, though you felt far from a goddess at the moment. Not that the warlord minded, he was determined to make you feel like one as he sat down behind you, only needing one arm to pull you into his chest.
“Hmm, who is this beauty in my arms?” he whispers, as he reaches for your face and lifts up your chin to look at him, “whose eyes sparkle so like the brightest stars in the sky?” he continues as fingers run across your cheek, “what fair divinity have I caught into my arms, treasured in my heart?”
His words earned a flush from you as you squirmed in Shingen’s hold, but the male was not about to let you go as he continued his ministrations.
“How I treasure the one sitting in my lap, the dearest one that I wish to keep warm.”
Kenshin
“Why are you hiding?” Kenshin’s smile had entered first before his words and his words before his realisation of your mood. He had come to seek you out, wanting to see your smile, but now that he saw you so desolate worry gripped his heart.
“Did something happen?” he frowns, hand already on his sword as he was ready to cut down whoever it was that put you in this state. You shake your head as you motion for him to sit down with you, your body turning towards him as you eye the man cautiously.
“You are so beautiful, so fair that I feel you might be unreal and I’m…”
You trail off and Kenshin’s expression falls further as he realises what it is that had upset you. Without hesitation he pulls you in, a pout on his lips as he forces you to look up and then he smiles at you. A little sad, but also in tenderness and in love as you can see yourself reflected in his mismatched eyes and how they behold you.
“Don’t say such silly things when I’m afraid that you’re the one whisked away by the wind.” It was rare for Kenshin to speak so poetically, but you knew that they were sincere and only meant for you. Blinking back at him Kenshin pulls you closer, arm wrapped firmly around your waist as he holds you.
”when I’m the one waking up in the morning fearing that you were just a dream.”
Mitsuhide
There was little that escaped Mitsuhide’s attention and that he made double-sure about all who dared to insult you. After that you had left the fox stepped out of the shadows, quick to corner that little maid in as he gave her an apt warning. He knew that you didn’t like him to step in for you, but Mitsuhide gladly abused his reputation if that meant shutting up unnecessary tongues wagging.
“Little mouse?” he smiled once he was done, finding you exactly where he had expected to find you sulking. How heartachingly adorable you were right then, but he hated to see you upset for any reason other than to his teases and as such the man was quick to go for your sides, tickling the spots you were most sensitive at in several ways of understanding.
“My dearest little one,” Mitsuhide speaks as you wriggle against him, giggles hiccuping up from you as you succumb to his teasing fingers. “That smile suits you much better,” he shares, as he has you lay your head on his lap.
“Don’t believe jealous tongues, or I will have to remind you again how beautiful you are to me,” the elusive warlord tells you, though the two of you know that even without the criticism Mitsuhide was more than willing to remind you every day how out-of-the-world you are to him.
Mitsunari
“Ah, here you are! I have been looking all over for you!” Sunny as ever Mitsunari had found you sulking in a corner, his smile quickly fading when he realised that there was something wrong with you. Mitsunari didn’t often grace emotions with his attention, but with you he wanted to make sure that there was only ever a smile on your face.
You blinked away the last of your tears as you shook your head, not wanting to saddle the man up with your insecurities. They were your own after all. But Mitsunari saw it differently as he knelt down next to you, his smile soft as he holds your hands.
“Don’t hide from me, that makes me sad,” he speaks to you, putting his feelings into words directly as he eyes you carefully, “will you tell me what took away that lovely smile of yours?” Natural as ever Mitsunari managed to be both innocent as well as seductive as he coaxed the truth out of you, his expression only falling for a split second before he pulled you in.
“They’re just jealous of your beautiful smile and character,” he informs you and when he says it you believe it.
Yukimura
“Geez, I have been looking all over for you!” Yukimura sounded annoyed when he finally found you, hand already on your shoulder as he was trying to catch your attention, “were you napping--”
He didn’t finish his sentence as he saw your face, eyes widening and mouth falling open as he immediately sat himself down next to you.
“Hey, what’s wrong? Did something happen?” he questions you, a light panic in his voice as he wonders if it was something inconsiderate he had said, or whether you were falling ill. Yukimura wasn’t the best at comforting people, he knew that, but he wanted to be there for you at least. Whatever it was that had upset you.
You let go of a deep sigh as you eye the male, your heart wanting to pour out, but your mind telling you that the young warlord wouldn’t understand. Whatever the case, when Yukimura’s hand brushed against your forehead to check for your temperature you turned away, spilling the words you had carefully kept inside as you told the story.
“Geez,” was his first response, a pout on his lips as he looks away in contemplation. “It is too bad that it was a maid, now I can’t punch her for you,” he says and you scoff at the thought of Yukimura hitting anyone for your sake.
“But,” he says and a hand reaches out to you as he ruffles your hair, a handsome smile spreading across his features as he pinches your cheek, “it is silly of you to worry. Not when you are so…”
And the blush that spread across Yukimura’s features when he realised what he was about to say is all you really need to feel better, a laugh rumbling from your chest as you lightly punch him on the arm.
“That’s more like it,” he tells you, glad to see you doing better.

ransara (platonic or not) with a starter u think would fit ?
It didn’t take long for Sara to notice that Ranmaru rarely smiled.
Even though they had been friends for a few months, he never let himself be vulnerable around her and seldom showed any emotion other than his usual dolefulness. Maybe it was his personality, or maybe he was going through something unknown to anyone else, but it would have been dishonest to say that it didn’t bother her. She did her best to include him whenever she could, like inviting him along when she hung out with Joe and Ryoko. She even went out of her way to include him in their conversations so he wouldn’t feel like a fourth wheel. But no matter what she did, he stayed as solemn as ever. Even Joe’s stupid jokes failed to have any effect. He’d grin halfheartedly, and sometimes chuckle under his breath, but he never really, truly laughed. And Sara was determined to change that. She knew what to do; Joe and her always messed around this way, and it always helped her feel closer to him. Perhaps this method would work on Ranmaru, too.
She waited until they were alone to act. The perfect situation arose when she invited him over one day for lunch. Her parents were out running an errand, so they had the house to themselves for a spell. After making lunch together they sat next to each other on the couch to eat.
“Hey, Ranmaru?” she piped up after finishing her plate.
He had just finished shoving another rice ball in his mouth, so it took him a second to respond.
“Hm? What’s up?”
“How come you never smile?”
He stared at her, looking a bit puzzled by her sudden question.
“Uh… I dunno… why do you ask?”
“It worries me. You seem so sad all the time.”
He shrugged as he took another bite of seasoned rice.
“I’m alright. I guess I’m just a naturally gloomy guy.”
“Maybe so, but I’d really like to hear you laugh for real one of these days.”
It was subtle, but she could’ve sworn he tensed up. His shoulders flinched ever so slightly, and he almost gagged on his food. This stirred her curiosity even more.
“Why…? It’s… it’s nothing special…”
“Don’t be so modest. I bet it’s really cute.”
When he was in between bites and not paying attention, Sara reached over to gently pinch his side. The reaction was instantaneous; he just about leapt into the air and squealed in an uncharacteristically high pitched voice. Sara couldn’t help but giggle; she never would have expected that out of such a serious guy.
“Was that a squeal I heard?” she asked with a smirk.
His eyes widened with shock when he realized what was about to go down.
“Hey… no!! Don’t come any closer!!”
But it was too late. Sara cornered him in an instant and left no room for escape. She climbed over his hips, pinning him down so all he could do was wiggle his upper body a little. He started babbling before she even touched him, pleading for mercy she wasn’t planning on giving.
“Please, no! Sara, I’m really… EEHEEHEEHEEHEE!! GAAAAAH!”
He cried out the moment her fingers started dancing over his belly. Although his shirt provided some protection, he was simply too ticklish for his own good. He practically howled when she spidered her nails up and down his sides, and even snorted when she began to poke into his ribs at random. Meanwhile, he scream-laughed as he swung his arms from side to side in a desperate attempt to fling her off, but his defenses were weak and after a few seconds he gave up. Consumed by helpless giggles, there wasn’t much else he could do at that point but laugh.
Sara grinned triumphantly as she tickled him, finding herself lost in the moment. For the first time, Ranmaru looked… happy. Sure, his laugh may have been forced, but seeing him finally let down his defenses gave her a lovely feeling she couldn’t quite describe. And as she suspected, his laugh was adorable. It was goofy, loud, and downright silly, which made it all the more endearing. Even his genuine smile was warm and wonderful, the complete opposite of his usual demeanor.
However, she didn’t want to take it too far, so after a couple minutes she stopped and gave him a chance to catch his breath. He kept giggling long after her hands left his body.
“What the hell… was that for…” he sputtered out in between gulps of air.
“Heh, sorry… I got a little carried away…”
He crossed his arms around his chest and curled into a ball, facing away from her. He must have been really embarrassed. Sara felt a little guilty for teasing him.
“I’m glad I got to hear it though,” she said softly.
“Hear… what?” He seemed to perk up at her comment.
“Hear your laugh, duh!”
He sat up and looked at her timidly, as if afraid to ask his next question.
“Did… did you like it?”
She nodded without hesitation.
“Of course. It’s really funny, but it’s nice.”
Ranmaru looked away as his blush deepened, his entire head becoming a comical shade of tomato red. Although he wasn’t facing her, Sara thought she saw a small smile break through.
She grinned triumphantly, happy that the two of them were able to grow a little closer that day.

Major insomnia and heartache in this chili’s tonight (this morning), so here we are with a quick little fic about two dum dums learning how to share heartache.(SFW, no major content warnings I can think of.)
next day edits: well, now that it’s not ass o’clock, i went back in and tidied this up and added a fair amount more!!  (much more satisfying ending instead of something so abrupt, haha.) doesn’t add any further content warnings, tho!
Maybe he shouldn’t have pushed her, he thought as she tensed and her demeanor changed entirely.
“I want to know,” he continued, resolutely.
“Everyone says that,” she spat. “And nobody actually does.”
“Why wouldn’t I?” Ranmaru barked. “You heard me out when I told you about everything. Were you lying all those times you listened? Pretending to care just long enough I get over myself and shut up and move on?!” He knew, in his heart of hearts, of course she wasn’t, but the way she said it insulted him so badly he could practically taste the bitterness.
She paused, looking to the side ruefully, shamefully. He had a feeling she’d struggle with eye contact this conversation, and he slouched his arms together, dropping back onto the couch with an irritated sigh, out of her line of sight.
“....No. Absolutely not. Look, this … is different.”
“How,” he growled. “You want to fucking talk about it. I tell you I’ll listen, it’s the least I owe you, and you say ‘no.’ You think I’m not gonna say ‘why’ after you shit all over my answer like that?”
She took a longer time than usual to find words, so just a few empty seconds where he waited, frustrated and somewhat furious at the disconnect.
“...You’re right that I shouldn’t have put it like that. That was shitty, and I’m sorry. But there’s...just...some kinds of life experiences that I’ve found nobody has any reason to learn to understand if it doesn’t happen to them. And...nobody’s prepared to deal with it -- meaningfully, anyways -- even secondhand.”
“Are you just looking for excuses to run away from--” He nearly hesitated over the words, realizing what they were almost a second too late, but marching forward with them anyway. “--trusting me?”
Another pause. “....I don’t know. I...can’t think of a time I’ve talked about it and….it hasn’t been taken from me.”
“What the hell does that mean?”
“It means....” She lingered long enough that Ranmaru worried, rousing himself a bit from staring blankly at the ceiling as he sprawled on the couch. She hadn’t moved from where she had been standing, but she looked at a far-off bare wall with nothing on it. “...that...the way people aren’t,” Another pause, as she searched for the word, “magically equipped with how to deal with it. It...turns me from a person into….anything else.”
“Like what.”
“An after-school lesson. Entertainment. A new toy. A pet. A messiah to burn later, if I’m being really dramatic and cynical. I don’t know, it depends on what flavor of asshole feels like coming out, and it’s never anything good.”
“Then tell them they’re being an asshole -- tell me I’m being an asshole -- and don’t quit until you get what you want out of them!”
“Look!” She finally lost that last twinge of polite restraint, of saying things more nicely than Ranmaru thought was worth bothering with. “What if I didn’t know how to do that, ‘cause how could I?! And what if I don’t want to have to fight every fucking time? What if I just want to be important enough to get it right on to begin with?! And-- don’t give me that shit about being so strong, you’ll survive the mistakes, blah blah -- fuck that! I’m tired of it! I’m not a crash-test dummy! So fucking crucify me for not buckling in to crash myself into who fuckin’ knows what just ‘cuz you got it in your head this is how you’ll repay this stupid friend debt you think you’re in -- you’re not! Just---” she grunted exasperatedly, her uncharacteristic stillness disappearing as she felt less cornered.
“I don’t care if you think I don’t owe you!” Ranmaru shot back. “I do! I want to even the score! If you did right by me, then I gotta do right by you! It’s how I do things, and I’m not about to just forget and let you keep diggin’ yourself into this hole--”  (this hole I know very well, Ranmaru thought) “-- where you get so hellbent on doin’ it on your own you cut down all your vision, ‘n your potential, ‘n all the ways you reach it, ‘cuz you keep having to re-invent the wheel just to take a step forward with all the shit you’re carrying!”
“Will you stop trying to quantify this!?”
“I’m not! I’m just tellin’ you what I think, and I’m right!” (I know I’m right because of y--)
“Okay! Maybe you are! About the hole thing -- not the whole thing, the -- the fuckin pit, not the whole-- ah, fuck it, you know what I mean! But I still think this debt system you keep putting basic acts of friendship into is dumb as shit!”
Ranmaru could already feel the point of this argument slipping away from them. “Are you gonna tell me what’s eating at you so bad or not?!”
She froze again. “---I’m. ….No. I’m not. I...my heart’s not ready, if things....go badly again.”
“Fine,” Ranmaru said, resolutely. He was hurt, in a small way, but he felt better that she was at least being truthful, and least acting out of her best interest, not some idiotic idea of useless martyrdom. H couldn’t fault her for protecting her heart. He, of all people, couldn’t possibly do that.
“...then I’ll work to be someone worthy of the trust you deserve,” he murmured, somewhat less resolutely.
The words just came out of him before he could think better of it, so Ranmaru hadn’t considered any reaction to expect. But stunned silence, then sniffling tears, that was probably the reaction he’d been least prepared to deal with.
“Oi-- don’t---” Ranmaru leapt to his feet, like he were a startled prey animal. “Don’t cry!”
“Don’t tell me what to do!” she huffed through a miserable, contorted, crying face. “Come here, you stupid bastard!” She came towards him with arms outstretched, only just enough warning for Ranmaru to open his own and receive the gesture, an awkward stalwartness to him as he stiffly supported her while the tears ran their course.
“I think it’s amazing how when you say shit like that,” she murmured, her arms tight around his chest. “I really do believe you mean it.”
“....’cause I do,” Ranmaru grumbled, realizing his face burned just a little as she squeezed tighter, and he felt just a little colder when she let go.
“...It’s not about you changing yourself, you know,” she continued, busying herself with cleaning up her tears and snot. “It’s not about you not being enough. You know that, right?”
“...I don’t care if it is. I’d want to do it. I know you don’t expect people to be anyone but who they are. Whatever change I’d have to make was one I should be working on, anyway.”
“Oh, god,” she sighed, stepping away to the nearest sink to wash her face, but there was a smile on her voice. “I really can’t underestimate how seriously you take everything.”
“I told you. I’m always serious about what I do,” he muttered, a little sourly, as the faucet ran.
“Charm point~!” she called from the bathroom in such a silly, mocking voice Ranmaru could hardly believe she’d been crying like she had just a bit ago.
“Shut up! Stop saying weird shit like Reiji!”
“Oh.” She came back with an ominous smile, a little at odds with her puffy eyes and smudged eyeliner. “Well, that’s how I know I really hit the nail on the head.”
“What’s so charming about taking things seriously,” he bristled. “It’s just what people should do!”
She laughed, so genuinely, so warmly, Ranmaru felt a twinge in his stomach. Maybe it was pride, maybe something else he didn’t want to unpack just yet.
“C’mere,” she said again, despite going right to him, wrapping her arms around his waist tightly before leaning back, hoisting him higher until his toes dragged against the floor. Ranmaru let it happen, feeling his weight shift onto hers as she growled into the effort of getting him into the air, even with his extra height on her. He complained about these kinds of hugs, once, but had since grown so used to them, there was something about them he could admit to liking.
“...Alright, alright. Put me down. Oi. Don’t swing me around, put me down!” The cats had gathered around, looking ready to pounce at his toes and pant legs as they waved through the air.
“Is big baby scared of heights,” she said with that facetious tone that always got him.
“Who said anything about that!? Put me down before the cats get on me -- like -- damn it, exactly like that!” One took a flying leap, batting at his legs until her claws her tangled into his pant leg. He could feel her grin into his shoulder as she obliged, slowly enough that the cats could get out of the way.
“It absolutely is what people should do,” she murmured, flopping back around him after he freed the the paw from its fabric prison (and his pants from any more catscratches). “You’ve just got the big stupid, stubborn heart to follow through with it. With literally everything you do.”
“...Tch.” Ranmaru wrapped his arms around her then while he felt his cheeks, the tips of his ears prick with heat. “Of course you’d make it about heart. It’s not, it’s about the ways souls burn when you give ‘em the right passion and drive....”
“Mmhmm,” she said, squeezing one last time before she released again. “Heart. It’s very rock of you.” She patted him on the back as she slipped out from his arms. “I’m gonna get myself a glass of water, you want one?”
“...Oi. It’s not --” He sighed. “Whatever. Yeah, I’ll take one,” he replied, stretching back over the couch.
She disappeared, and ice and water clinked into glasses. Ranmaru, for a stolen moment, rested his right hand over his chest, quietly lingering at how open and warm it felt beneath all the skin, muscle, and bone.
Even if she didn’t like the idea of it being a debt, Ranmaru swore to himself that he would’t let this sort of favor go unreturned. It was how he did things, after all.

Hey! Can you do all warlords reacting to mc be killed in front of them ? (Yeah not a happy request haha) ❤
oh boy oh boy, I most certainly can. Not a happy request indeed but I think the request we all needed. I found a poetic side in fact this is very poetic of myself in writing these too, so some angst coming right up! Motonori’s kinda broke me i’m becoming a slut for his angst.
I hope you enjoy, my chatelaine!
*** as of now, I will only be doing four of the warlords. This is a recent change that I have made after this was request was sent. I put the warlords through a randomizer to narrow down the four. Please understand why I am doing so. The rules of request have been updated for when they are open again.
REQUESTS ARE CURRENTLY CLOSED
Please enjoy, and leave me your feedback!  :)
Ieyasu, Ranmaru, Kennyo, and Motonari reacting to MC being killed in front of them
Ieyasu Tokugawa
He holds you in his arms.
For hours.
He sits there, talking to you, stroking your face and playing with your hair, in hopes you might respond,
but you never will again. Your eyes are glued open, and your body now stiff. Skin gray, lips purple, and it’s cruel that you died smiling,
Your last words being, “I’m never far from you.”
Little droplets of tears fell onto your face almost pitifully. Against your pale skin, they made harsh splats.
“Please,” he whispered. He rocked you back and forth. “Please, MC. Please.”
Hideyoshi kneeled before him, his head hung low. He didn’t know what he could say— your death will break everyone. At last, all he could bitterly muster was, “we cannot stay here.”
The moment he tried reach out, Ieyasu was shouting and clutching you to him. “Don’t touch her, she’s going to wake up—“
“No she’s not,” Hideyoshi snapped, his voice strangled. He let his head drop into his hands. He blamed himself for your death as much as Ieyasu was blaming himself, too, at this moment. “She’s not going to wake up. But we have to leave, we can’t stay here anymore.”
Ieyasu doesn’t budge.
“Ieyasu.
“She wouldn’t want you to throw away your life right now.”
He carried you back to camp. Amongst the men, some who knew you personally — how could they not, you were always so kind — there wasn’t a dry eye. Not a single one of them spoke that night. Their worlds had lost it’s brightest light.
The Tokugawa took victory to that battle. But Ieyasu lost more than he could ever imagine
Ranmaru Mori
He plead with the enemy to let you go. You were clutched in the arms of the brute, face turning white and lips an ugly, bruised purple as you struggled to breath against hold.
Ranmaru couldn’t fantom how this had happened but he was desperate, he’d do anything to get you back, and they knew that.
But the world is a cruel place. A bittersweet smile splayed on your face as the dagger was shoved deep into your bosom. A howl had escaped the young samurai as he tried to sprint towards you.
You fell to the ground, coughing on your own blood, trying to keep yourself from fully collapsing on the ground but with your failing vision and rapid loss of blood it was too hard.
As your lifeline began to fade and the last bits of strength faltered, you looked up at your lover who continued to sob your name.
“Please don’t cry,” you gasped. “It’s ok.”
He was left alone in a prison cell to hold your body and say his final goodbyes, as the enemy sent a letter to the Oda to use him as ransom.
Ranmaru smiled down at you as he stroked your hair, and allowed his tears to collect on your face;
he held you. “I’m so sorry.”
He managed to escape, but he left you there. You deserved a proper burial, which the Oda could grant you once they won. But he would not return with them.
Ranmaru ran away for the last time. He was never heard from again.
Kennyo
You were not killed in battle. You were not murdered. You were not targeted.
Your death was of no fault but your own,
and yet Kennyo was ripping himself to shreds, bawling his fists and screaming into your limp body.
He told you not to climb the trees.
“Tree’s are to be admired. Why won’t you sit in my lap instead?”
But you had to climb the tree, and he never would have really stopped you from doing so. He admired your courageousness and strength.
He should have caught you.
He should have been watching you instead of enjoying the serenity of the world around him, as if there wasn’t danger always lurking.
There was a loud thump and snap behind him. You fell from the tree.
And snapped your neck.
There were no last words for Kennyo to cling onto. Just bitter silence
You laid lifeless on the ground, and no mater what he tried to do in waking you, reviving you, oh god, please don’t leave me, he couldn’t do a thing. A tragic accident, indeed.
He buried you in a field of flowers. He sat at your grave and talked, and talked, and talked… to you, wondering if by miracle you might respond.
You never did.
There was no one to have revenge on for you death. Only the trees.
And so distraught with grief, he became one with fire, and he set the trees ablaze.
Motonari Mori
How do you react, to the only person you’ve ever, ever truly loved die right in front of you.
He watched horrified as the arrow pierced your heart, and you staggered backwards towards the edge of the ship. He couldn’t find his voice, or feel his body.
Your eyes, your gorgeous eyes always filled with life, but dark and forgone made contact with his.
For a split second, he saw something flicker. The last bit of light that will ever sparkle within you.
A look of anguish on your face, but you smiled even as blood trickled from your mouth.
And he scream, an ear-curling, terrifying scream as you fell backwards and off of the ship, crashing into the sea below.
You weren’t there when he ran to the edge. He could only image how you were crushed by the waves.
His men around him screamed for their captain’s help as the ambush continued on, but he couldn’t do a thing. He was frozen in spot, staring at the water below him.
He loved the sea. Now he hates the sea.
When was the last time he cried? The salty water was not that of the sea below, but his tears as they glided down his face.
What was he to do now that he lost you?
He turned around and watched as each of his men fell before him, each with the same anguished look you bared, but none that compared to the pain he felt when he saw yours.
At that moment, he pulled himself to sand on the ships edge as the screams died down. He could hear what could only be the leader of the other group of pirates that attacked him shouting for him.
He took one last look at his ship, and his men slain on the ground,
and he thought of the last thing you ever told him; “There is an ocean of waves we have yet to discover.” He held onto this words.
And jumped into the sea.

An Inexperienced Ghost Agent (unedited story from 2014)
Just to preface this, this is a fic I wrote way back ago when I was still a sophomore in highschool. This was probably like one of my first ever attempts at any type of story. So it's bad. Like, really bad. And it honestly does make me cringe, but it also makes me happy to see my level of writing be way above this. (Not that my current level is far from average lmao) Nothing explicit or bad in this. The worst is the awful like se/me u/ke relationships in typical BL fashion. The last portion is where it gets kinda bad too. Though it's more cringey than anything lmao. But again, happy to see myself move past those stereotypes that had been ingrained in my mind as a young gay still unsure of anything. I remember telling myself that I couldn't be gay cause I'm Mexican lol. Which is admittedly really sad, but like, that's growth there! Anyways, enough about my stupidity, this fic is from 2014 and about the now defunct gacha, Ayakashi Ghost Guild. This work is entirely unedited, so it doesn't even have an ending. I wanted to preserve its age by not altering it in any way. So yeah. I doubt this'll be enjoyable to anyone, but I hope at least someone gets some good laughs over how mediocre this is!
Edit: actually, there are some edits, but it's just me combining paragraphs and cutting off dialogue marked by a lack of a response aka "..." Cause this story actually exceeded the 250 paragraphs limit on Tumblr sbdksnksnslalansma
_______________
"Nnngh. That felt really good. How long was I asleep?"
"For a pretty long time. Trust me I was beside you the entire time." I turn to my right and see that Santa Claus is right beside me.
"Why are you on my bed?"
"Because you're so comfortable." Santa Claus said it so matter of factly.
"Please get off."
"No. I wanna lay down with you, so get used to it." Barely a second goes by and I hear an arrow wiz by.
"Leave Alex alone Santa Claus."
"You're just jealous that I can cuddle with him. Besides, you missed me."
"I never miss my mark. It was intentional."
"Just because you transmigrated doesn't mean that."
"Do you want to find out." Kyu raised his bow and pulled it back; ready to shoot it.
"Stop it you two! Let go of me Santa Claus, and put your coat back on; the Anniversary Event is already over." He's so pressed up to me that I can feel his chest on my back.
"I know it's over. That's why I took it off. I can also take off the rest of my clothes if you want me to." I can't stop the blush on my face. Kyu sees it and he scowls.
"One more remark like that and this arrow is going straight for your neck." Would Kyu really do it? I didn't want to find out.
"Stop it Kyu. And let go of me."
"Sheesh Alex no need to be rough. Of course I'm going to be rough to you later tonight." That last remarks makes me blush even more and before I can make a retort Mira steps in.
"I think it's time for me to step in before Kyu and Claus kill each other." Thank God Mira stepped in! I wouldn't doubt them killing each other either. Wait, she has chocolate on her cheek.
"Were you raiding the fridge for some pudding Mira?"
"Yes master. That's why I barely came." She puts her head down in slight embarrassment and shame. If she's eating some pudding then that means it's night.
"What time is it Mira?" Thankfully Kyu and Claus have finally shut up.
"It's 1:37 a.m."
"Screw it. I'm watching some anime with you Mira." Before Santa Claus can tighten his grip on me I quickly get off the bed and go into the living room.
"I'm going back to my room." Thankfully Kyu left which just leaves Santa Claus on my bed *sigh*.
"Thank god I have such a big house. They'd probably kill each other already if they lived any closer." Mira just laughs at me. When we finally arrive at the living room, Ranmaru is sitting there entranced by the TV. "Why is Ranmaru with you this late?"
"I'm not a kid anymore! Plus I wanted to see if you people correctly got how all of us looked in the Sengoku period. How do they know how we look? Technology sure has gotten far." It takes me awhile to understand everything he said. He's half right about not being a kid at least. When he transmigrated he grew up but he still acts like a kid.
"Wait, they're actually right on how all of you look!"
"Yeah look at me and the cartoon of me on the TV!" Oh my god they actually are.
"Is their depiction of Nobunaga right?"
"Especially him!" I take note of how he looks in case we ever run into him. Mira just sits on the couch laughing at Ranmaru's reaction.
I go into the kitchen feeling a bit peckish. "Do either of you want pudding." I know Mira wants one, so I grab her one on reflex.
"Yes please." They both reply unsurprisingly. Ranmaru being childish obviously would have a sweet tooth.
"Here you go you two." They simultaneously replied with a thank you and I sat down on the floor. A while passes and the show is finally over. Ranmaru and Mira are absolutely hooked on it but I'm just tired to the point I'm tempted to sleep on the floor. The front doorknob starts to shake and I quickly get up out of fear. Then I hear that a key is being inserted into it and then curiosity takes over. Who the hell is out this late. The door opens and I see that it's rat clan boss in his anniversary getup. I quickly go up to him all worried.
"What is it Alex?"
"Your jacket is covered in blood! What were you doing out so late?" I yell even though I didn't mean to. I hope I didn't wake anyone up.
"It's not my blood. Don't worry."
"That makes me all the more worried. What did you do?" While I'm no longer yelling I'm still somewhat raising my voice to him.
"Calm down don't get your panties in a knot. Come with me."
"Wait, what are you doing? Let me go!" He walks up to me and hoists me up to his shoulder and he carries me like a sack of flour. Since when did I start to get pushed around. I'm the ghost hunter here. I fought mostly everyone here and I beat everybody that I fought.
"Calm down. We're going to my room. You can sleep with me for tonight." Before Rat Clan Boss can react Ranmaru suddenly appears before us.
"Oh no he's not. Let him go Nezumi "
"Nezumi? The hell did you get that from; that's not my real name. "
"It means rat in Japanese you idiot. Now let go of Alex." Oh dear God. Ranmaru just drew his sword. This isn't good. Then they'll both fight. I need to stop to them.
"Stop it both of you! And Nezumi I'll come with you if you promise that you'll let me go with you whenever you leave so late.
"Fine I don't see a problem with that but you be careful when you come with me. Now let's go." He starts to walk towards his room. I turn around, embarrassed to see Ranmaru's and Mira's reaction.
"Don't worry. I'll take good care of him."
"Shut up already." Ranmaru is still confused about the situation but I hear Mira calling him over and then I hear whispering. What are they saying? I turn around towards them and they both give me a wink. I blush and turn back around regretting looking at them. Once we're out of sight Nezumi takes me off his shoulder and carries me bridal style.
"How cliche."
"Anything to woo you." He smirks at me. When we finally reach his room, he gently puts me on his bed.
"Get me the blanket, please."
"I thought we were going to have some fun before we go to sleep." Not this again.
"No. Now hand me the blanket."
"Fine. I was only teasing you." He drapes the blanket over me while he changes. I quickly turn around to face away from him.
"Don't care. Just go to sleep. *sigh* I'm tired. And if you sleep in the buff I'm leaving." The warmth from the blanket is making me even more tired.
"Calm down already. I don't. I need to be prepared if someone attacks me."
"What do you mean if someone attacks you?"
"It's out of habit. No need to worry. I feel more comfortable carrying it when I go to sleep."
I wonder what he means by 'it' until it finally clicks with me. "You better not carry a knife with you while you sleep."
"And what if I do." I slowly turn around to yell at him, but I stop when I see him wearing nothing except plain boxers. I quickly turn around out of embarrassment. It takes me a while for me to calm down, but when I do I'm absolutely annoyed.
"I don't want you stabbing me when I wake up!"
"I won't carry a knife then. Hold on a bit." He gets something from one of his shelves and grabs a bottle filled with liquid.
"Are you going to drug me!?"
"It's to clean my piercings so they don't get infected. Calm down already. And quit yelling."
"*yawn* Fine." I'm too tired for anything else so I start to get comfortable.
"Since you won't let me carry a knife while I sleep, how 'bout I hold you for tonight." He laid down on his bed with me and wrapped his arms around my chest. I can feel his bare chest against the light fabric of my shirt. His biceps are pressing into my arms.
"Let go of me! Stop it." I'm so tired that it sounds halfhearted.
"You know you sound cute when you're tired."
"Whatever. I'm going to kill you when I wake up."
"Goodnight." He tightens his grip on me even further. Maybe I should talk to Eisuke how to deal with this tomorrow. I'll look for him at the institute.
"Goodnight." Finding no way to get out I snuggle up to him.
"Someone's getting comfortable."
"Shut up. Now let me go to sleep."
"I wish we didn't have to go to sleep." I shiver from how softly he says it right into my ear. "This is a lot better than carrying a knife. Looks like I'll have to take you from your bed from now on."
"Don't. Now let me sleep I'm tired." I don't care at how whiny I sound; I want to go to sleep.
When I wake up in the morning I see Kyu and Pearce staring at me in Nezumi's arms.
"What?" Maybe I should ask Pearce how to contact Eisuke.
"Get up."
"Do you honestly think that if I could get up that I wouldn't." Does Pearce honestly think I'm that strong.
"Move his arms Kyu."
"Fine."
"Don't. He's a light sleeper. I'll wake him up myself. Just leave the room real quick. I'll be out in a bit."
"Let's go Kyu." Pearce forcefully drags Kyu along with him. At least he listens to me still.
"Thank you. Now get up you!" I start to flail my entire body to wake him up not caring about being nice. I did promise to kill him.
"Give me a kiss first."
"When I'm in hell. And what about Koko?"
"We're not going out. She's just popular with the henchmen. Now about that kiss."
"Never."
"Then I guess you're not leaving this bed." I hear movement behind the door and the sounds of struggling. Most likely Pearce stopping Kyu from barging into here.
"Fine." I give him a quick peck on the cheek. "Now let me go."
"I mean a kiss on the mouth. Now give it to me."
"You just said a kiss. You never said on the mouth!"
"Doesn't matter."
"I can't if you don't loosen your grip!" He completely lets go and before I can risk quickly running away he speaks.
"If you even try to leave before you give me a kiss you're going to be in my arms all day."
I get up to give him a kiss and when my face is right in front of his he puts his hand on the back of my head and he brings my head down to his and he forcefully kisses me. I close my lips so he can't put his tongue inside my mouth but he doesn't get the tip so he bites my lips with his teeth and I open my mouth out of reflex and that's enough time for him to slide his tongue into my mouth. Once he's done I can barely breath from the lack of oxygen and the heat rising to my face. Yet he doesn't stop there, he brings his lips down to my neck and he bites down. HARD. His sharp teeth pierce my skin. I whimper from the pain and I realize Pearce and Kyu are outside the door.
"Pearce help!" He quickly barges through the door and he notices what Nezumi is doing to me. He rushes to the bed and he forces Nezumi off of me.
"What the hell do you think you're doing!?" The way Nezumi says it is pretty scary. He quickly stands up to punch Pearce but I put both of my hands on his arm to stop him before his fist and Pearce's face make contact.
He turns back at me surprised and when he sees that I have tears in my eyes and I'm slightly bleeding where he bit me on my neck. He embraces me in a hug. I don't even want to give him a hug so he knows that I don't forgive him.
"I'm sorry for hurting you."
"Just let me go please."
"Again I'm sorry." Thankfully Ne- no rat clan boss let me go. As I leave the room with Pearce I turn around to see that he's sitting on the bed silently crying. I quickly run to his side and give him a hug.
"I forgive you. Just don't do it again please."
"Okay I'm sorry." He grabs a handkerchief and starts to clean my tears and then proceeds to clean my blood. "Sorry if it hurts." He hugs me one more time and tells me to do whatever I was going to do.
"Goodbye Nezumi. See ya later. Let's go Pearce. " I wait until we're both out of Nezumi's range of hearing before I talk to Pearce. "Where did Kyu go?"
"He went to go get his bow and arrow." Right after he says that Kyu comes to us running.
"Darn you and your large house master. I got lost again." He sees my neck. "What's wrong with your neck."
"Kyu. Leave our master alone. Let's go Alex." Pearce drags me by my hand and exit out the front door.
"Tell everyone I'll be gone for awhile. Okay Kyu." I close the door and I turn to Pearce. "Thank you. Do you know how to contact Eisuke."
"We need to go to the institute. He's always there at this time of day."
"Let's go then." We quietly walk together to the institute and when we enter I walk up to the receptionist desk. "Excuse me Mrs. I'd like to speak with Eisuke. Is he currently here ?"
"My such manners, and cute as well. No wonder you went with him Pearce. Yes he is here. He is currently in his room. Pearce should know where it is."
"Thank you mam. Have a nice day." How embarrassing! I turn to Pearce and see that he's smirking at me. I turn my head around not noticing the way he frowns when I do. He stands in front of me and he leads the way. When we finally reach Eisuke's room he motions for me to knock. I do so and I hear Eisuke loudly speak.
"Coming." When Eisuke sees that it's me he's surprised. "What are you doing here?"
"We want you to know that we're going out." What the hell is wrong with Pearce!
"Wait what!" Eisuke looks at me wide-eyed.
"Ignore him. I need some advice from you."
"I'll be out in a sec. Come on in." He opens the door further and both Pearce and I enter his small apartment. I sit on the couch and I glare at Pearce. He smirks at me again and he wraps his arm around my waist.
"What are you doing!? Let go of me Pearce."
"You didn't seem to mind when Rat Clan Boss did this to you." The fact that he knows embarrasses me. Oh god Kyu was there too!
"That was different. Nezumi and Ranmaru were going to fight. I had to stop it somehow." I turn away, embarrassed. "Just not a way I preferred."
"Liar."
"Shut up." I face forward again, ignoring the fact that Pearce still has his arm around my waist. Damn his height.
Eisuke, appararently, starts to choke on air at what Pearce said. It takes awhile for him to calm down. Aaaaand he's even more annoyed. Perfect.
"And how am I supposed to help you."
"Do you know a way to control them."
"If this has to do with sex I'm done."
"No it isn't! I just need to keep them under control! How do you keep your Daemons under control."
"I'm not an idiot like you. I honestly don't know what to do. It's your fault." Eisuke has a small grin and he's trying to wipe it off his face.
"Quit smiling or I'll-" I get interrupted by a knock on the door. Eisuke gets up to get it. Pearce and I turn around to see who it is.
"Is Alex here?" All three of us are shocked at who it is. Pearce slightly loosens his grip on my waist; seeing my chance I quickly get up and run behind Barbatos, clinging on to him for dear life.
"No wonder they get aroused." Eisuke turned around after saying that.
"I never said they do!"
"I could make the connection. Especially with the way you're groping him."
"I'm not groping him!"
"I don't mind him groping me. But only because it's Alex."
"Shut up!" I quickly unwrap my hands from Barbatos. "Why are you here." I quickly try to divert the conversation from what just happened. He's amused by the conversation.
"Gargoyle is frantically looking for you. He should be on top of the building by now."
"I'll go right now. Eisuke, how do I reach the rooftop?"
"The daemon can show you himself."
"I don't think- "
"I know how to reach it. That's how I got in."
"Let's go then. Come on Pearce." Pearce silently gets up of the couch and stands beside me. Before he can wrap his arm around my waist, Barbatos wraps his arm around me. Knowing it'll annoy Eisuke further I save it for later. "Bye Eisuke. Thank you."
"I hope you know that this is all your fault."
"I know. Thanks." He closes the door, but not before giving a small chuckle. Once the door is fully closed I yell at Barbatos. "Stop it!"
"I'm just enjoying myself. Being with you that is."
"This is all just a game to you isn't it."
"Maybe." He smirks at me. Once we arrive at the rooftop, Barbatos lets go of me. Less than ten seconds pass by when Gargoyle tackles me to the ground.
"Get off of me Gargoyle." While he can barely talk, he's been getting better at speaking in something other than growls.
"Sorry."
"That's good! You're getting better now. You said it without stuttering!" I raise my hand to pat his head, but he grabs it before I can. In an instant he grabs me in his arms and he jumps off the roof. "Were going to die! What's wrong with you!" I scream all the way until he starts to flap his wings at the very last second. He slowly lands on the ground.
"Y-you okay?" What did my screaming suggest! That I was having the life of my time?! "
"No! That was scary! I'm traumatized because of you!"
"Tra-tra-mu-ti-tized?" While he was able to say it, almost, correctly. I'm too scared, annoyed, and angry to congratulate him.
"Let's just go home." I don't even want to touch the ground. I stay in his arms clinging on to him. As he slowly walks back to my house, I can feel that people are staring at us. Thankfully nobody can notice Gargoyle's wings or horns because they haven't been attacked by a daemon. As he's walking, we get knocked to the ground.
"Watch were you're going you- Oh hey Alex." Great. It's Dora. Just who I wanted to see.
I slowly start to catch my surroundings. Once I do, I see that I'm right on top of Gargoyle. When we make eye contact he gives me a wide grin and brings me down to him. People are starting to gather around now. "Let go of me." He slowly does so. Damn my head hurts from all this. I quickly get up and when I can properly do so he puts his arm around my waist. Why does everyone have to do this?! While the crowd is dispersing, some of them give us disapproving glares. Dora on the other hand.....
"What a couple of idiots." Dora on the other hand laughs at us. Seeing a chance to ask for her help I quickly ask her before she runs off to wherever she was going.
"Hey Dora? Do you know-" I get interrupted by Gargoyle poking my thigh. I instinctively ball my hand and punch him in the shoulder. He ignores it and points behind me. To where Dora is currently running to. So much for that. "Let's go get ice cream. It's almost time to eat but whatever." Gargoyle reluctantly nods his head. He walks behind me this time. Once we reach the place, I order the both of us vanilla ice cream. We sit on the chairs provided outside the place and eat it quietly and peacefully, that is until Barbatos and Pearce find us.
"Enjoying some quality time with Gargoyle are you."
"Quit being such an idiot Barbatos."
"Can I have some ice cream."
"No. But Pearce can." I give him enough money to buy some ice cream.
"Then I'll just have to get some of yours."
"No way. You-" I get interrupted when Barbatos stupidly decides to shove my ice cream on my mouth. "What's your problem!" I reach to grab my napkin, but Barbatos grabs my wrist and kisses me. His grip is too strong to the point I can't even resist him. I start to have trouble breathing until Gargoyle yanks him off of me.
"Get soft him!" As much as I want to laugh at Gargoyle, I'm absolutely livid to the point where I just leave all three of them. I ignore their stares and everyone else who saw what happened.
Once I get back, I'm just relieved that I'm away from Barbatos. I decide to not eat dinner today. I'm way too tired. I enter my room unnoticed and change into my pajamas. I lie down on my bed trying to go to sleep early, until I notice Santa Claus is on my bed.
"So you've come to sleep with me huh. Normally I'd have to put you on the naughty list but I can make an exception for you."
"This is my bed. Go to your room. I'm tired and I want to go to sleep alone." I manage to get off the bed before he can get a hold on me.
"But don't you think that sleeping together is a whole lot better." He pats the part of the bed that I was just on in an attempt to make me go in. As tempted as I am to sleep in my bed I start to walk away.
"I'm going to the living room. Bye." I don't have the energy to deal with anything right now. Much less one of my daemons. I go to the living room and lie down on the couch. I try going to sleep but it's hard when it's cold and with no blanket.
"Good evening Alex. How are you today." Kill me now! Can't I be allowed to go to sleep!?
"Hey Ikutachi. I'm sorry but can we talk tomorrow; I'm really tired."
"Oh, I'm sorry. But why are you sleeping in the couch?" His concern is very nice but I'm tired. I know it's not his fault, so I try to calm myself.
"Santa Claus is in my room and because I don't want to deal with him right now I'm sleeping here for tonight."
"You can sleep in my bed tonight. I'll sleep on the floor."
"It's fine Ikutachi. I'll sleep here. Now can you please let me go to sleep. I'm sorry, but I'm really tired." Ikutachi looks sad, but he decides to leave. I feel terrible for saying that, but if he didn't leave in a bit I'd have probably snapped at him for no reason. Thankfully, without any other interruptions I fall asleep within minutes.
I start to wake up later when it gets hot. I feel a blanket over me. A lot of blankets. I'm starting to sweat. I sit up and see that the T.V. is on.
"Who turned on the T.V.?" Ugh I'm still tired from everything.
"It was Ranmaru."
"No it wasn't! It was Yukimura!"
"Stop yelling you idiot." God help me now. I can't deal with the two of them.
"Can you turn it off please?"
"Okay. Let's go." At least Ranmaru is understanding.
"Why should we?"
"Because Alex is trying to go to sleep and we should be polite."
"He should go to his room."
"Why aren't you sleeping in your bed master." It seems that what Yukimura said piqued Ranmaru's interest.
"Santa Claus is in my bed. That's why I'm out here." Ugh, I'm so sweaty. "I'm going to go take a shower." I take off all my blankets, and go into my room quietly. I quickly grab a change of clothes and a towel; I get out of my room and go to one of the bathrooms. I take a fast shower and I dry myself. I don't have enough time to put on all of my clothes, before the door is knocked down. Even though I have boxers on, I cover myself with my towel just in case. Hercules comes in, shirtless as usual, passes me, and throws up in the toilet. I run to the kitchen and run back bringing a bottle of water for Hercules.
"Thanks, but I'm not drunk. I ate some disgusting meat." He opens the bottle and drinks all of it within seconds. "Thanks again."
"Why were you eating so late?"
"I was hungry so I thought about eating something with protein. I walked into the kitchen and found some meat on a plate. Then this happened."
"You shouldn't eat meat that's just lying around. It could have bacteria or something."
"Now that I threw up, the bacteria should be gone. I took a bite of it a minute ago."
"Well you can't be to sure."
"Thanks again." His gaze suddenly goes down when he notices I'm almost naked. "Why are you only in boxers?"
"I just got out of the shower!" I grab my towel from the floor and cover myself. Despite how ridiculous I look, as long as he isn't staring it's better. His demeanor then takes a full 180.
"You know you shouldn't let anybody else see you like that." He cups my chin with his hand. When I try to back up, he uses his other hand to hold me. He doesn't even budge when I resist further. His grip is too tight to the point that it's suffocating. "Any sane person wouldn't be able to control themselves with you." His thumb catches on my lips for a second, before he tugs off my towel. "I know I can't." He presses our faces and he deeply kisses me. I pound my fists against his chest, push him away, and even try to escape. Whether he's purposefully ignoring me or I'm just that weak I don't know. "Come with me." He whispers into my ear and it makes me shiver from fear as to what will happen. He takes me to his room and he puts me on his bed.
"Wha-what are you doing?" I try to sound brave but instead it came out pathetically.
"You'll see." He lies down on top of me putting a lot of pressure. "What happened here." He points to where Nezumi bit me. His voice is really serious and he glares at me.
"Someone bit me." My voice barely comes out to the point even I strain to hear it.
"What happened. Tell me now." He's even more angry at me. His glare intensifies.
"Someone bit me." I'm absolutely terrified as to what's going to happen now.
"Who was it."
"···" The longer I remain silent his glare intensifies even further. He wraps his hands around my wrists.
"You belong to me now." He starts to nibble at my neck.
"Ah! Stop it." I uselessly try to move my neck around but it doesn't work.
"···" His nibbling soon turns into biting. At first it's a bit ticklish but then pain starts to spread around my neck when his biting becomes stronger.
"Stop. Please." I desperately struggle against him once more, but it's as futile as the other times.
"···" His biting starts to hurt even more now. Even when it was Nezumi it didn't hurt this bad. And it hurts even more because he's biting me multiple times. He finally removes his mouth from his neck, and he raises his head to face mine. He gives me a wide smirk. He removes his hand from my wrist and he harshly caresses my hickey. He brings his face down to my neck again and he bites at my hickey.
"Stop! That hurts." With my left arm finally free, I punch him in the face.
"What do you think you're doing!?" His voice is so harsh compared to how it was when we were first talking.
"That hurts! Please stop."
"I would. But I don't want to."
"I said stop it."
"No." He grabs my hands to make sure I won't stop him and he continues to bite my neck. Awhile passes before he stops, but at that point the pain is insufferable. I'm crying heavily from how sore my neck is. He once again cups my chin in his hand. "Don't cry. I just want people to know that you belong to me. They shouldn't take what isn't there's. Now let's go to sleep. Even I won't force you to do that until you're ready." It seems that he still has some sanity left but he still terrifies me.
"O-okay."
"Don't be scared." He wipes my tears away, and he tries to sooth me. It doesn't work and instead makes me more afraid of him at how his attitude changes quickly. "Remember when I saved you at Yggdrasil?"
"Yes"
"You were unconscious when I first met you. You're daemons were carrying you and I thought they were kidnapping you. I fought them and won. When they were tired I took you from them. "
"I know. When I woke up I was scared of you. But you treated me kindly and I trusted you. You didn't act like this back then."
"Don't be scared. I love you. Now let's go to sleep." I don't understand how he thinks love would include forcing yourself on that person, but I don't voice it knowing he'd get angry.
"Okay." He gets off of me; then he pulls me closer to him. "Can I change first please."
"You look so much better like this though. I know what will make you feel better." He gets up from the bed and I hear some rustling. Knowing that's he's undressing and not wanting to wait to see what would happen I immediately get up from the bed and make a beeline for the door. With my hand on the knob, Hercules grabs me from behind and covers my mouth as well. It somehow manages to be even more suffocating than before. He holds me tightly against him as he takes me back to his bed.
When we're finally on the bed he starts to cry. "Don't ever leave me again. I don't know what I would do if you left me." He's holding me extremely tight. I can't even move at all. Neither can I sleep from how afraid of him I am; at how quickly he changes emotions. My neck is in a ton of pain and I can't even do anything to ease it. Finally realizing the futility of it all, I start to cry. "What'd I say about crying? Cheer up. You shouldn't be sad now that we have each other. If you don't stop then I'll cry."
"What's wrong?" Does he honestly not know. "Please tell me. I can't just let you cry."
"···" It's creepy how fast he can go from crazy to loving. I need to get away from him as fast and as far as I can.
"If you don't want to talk about it now we can talk about it later." He brings me right next to him. I can feel him entirely, now that's he's only in boxers. "I just want you to know that I'll love you forever and I'll never leave your side. We'll always be with each other. Goodnight."
"I'm sorry." That's the last thing I hear before losing consciousness.
When I wake up, I notice that I'm back at Yggdrasil. I slowly stand up and notice that I'm near the top of Yggdrasil. I start to check my surroundings and seeing as how no one is here to stop me, I start to achingly run down Yggdrasil. When I go down a floor I see Hercules coming my way. I look around hoping to find a spot to hide, but I find nothing. Before I can go back where I was, Hercules spots me. He drops all of his stuff and he comes running up to me.
"What are you doing down here? Were you trying to escape? Do you not want to be with me?""Answer me!" He embraces me in a ridiculously tight hug and he looks about ready to break down.
"I was looking for you." I force myself to cry to make it more convincing. "I couldn't find you so I thought something had happened." Whether it was because i was convincing or because he's unstable, Hercules believes me.
"Don't worry. I'll never leave you alone." We go to where Hercules dropped everything and I help him carry the stuff. When we arrive to where I was earlier Hercules starts to set up camp.
"Why are we here?" Right now I need to not sound afraid of him.
"This is where my country is. You're going to live with me now. You're going to be my king."
"Wait what!" Just how insane is he? His face changes from happiness to confusion yet I can see a small trace of malice so I quickly change attitudes. "Won't people get upset at that though? The fact that first of all I'm not a bug and second of all I'm a guy?"
"If anyone tries to stop me, then I'll cut them down." He quickly embraces me in another hug. "I won't let anyone separate us. But right now hold on a minute. I still have to get the rest of your stuff. Stay here. Okay." His last sentence is said with such severity that if I disobey it then serious repercussions would happen.
"Okay."  Hercules starts running back down. Taking his warning seriously I patiently wait for him. A few minutes have passed when I hear some rustling from some bushes. I stay quiet, waiting to see what is causing it. The rustling dies down only for Yggdra Leaf to pop out.
"Yggdra Leaf!" I'm so happy to see someone that isn't Hercules.
"Alex? What are you doing here?"
"Hercules-" I stop when I hear footsteps once more. "He's coming! You have to hide!" Yggdra Leaf looks at me confused. "Just hide! Quickly!" Yggdra Leaf gives me one final look as she goes back into the bushes.
"Who were you talking to?" Despite Hercules saying it kindly, I know the hidden malice behind his question.
"No one. Why?" I put on an innocent face.
"Okay. Let's go." Hercules grabs everything and he starts to head for the bushes.
Why are we going there?"
"This is where my kingdom is." He kicks away the bushes and nothing is there! He presses a button and suddenly an elevator appears! "Come on." I slowly walk behind him when I hear some more rustling from some other bushes. Dread starts to slowly well up in me "Who's there!" Hercules drops everything and puts himself in front of me. He quickly unsheathes his sword and points it towards where the noise came from
"The person who will end your insignificant life. You cockroach. "

Yay! I'm so excited for this! Thank you for doing it. I think it's easier if I send these one at a time so you can keep track. I have a lot, but I'll only ask for 3 and then do an optional list.

Yoshimoto, H is for Heat, 😏
Ahaha I love Yoshimoto. This one is a bit spicy! Approx. 1000 words of love, beauty, and heat! 1K Follower Celebration Ikesen Edition!
Yoshimoto sat in the shade, where the spray from the garden fountain misted over his skin and the breeze carried the faint smell of summer flowers. The day was sweltering hot, so much that the air shimmered over paving stones and roof tops. Everything was at a standstill as workers and warlords alike wilted in the summer heat.
It was hard to convince himself to move, even to cool himself with a drink. But the prickling sweat on his skin made him restless and uncomfortable. There was no position, no place, that lessened the discomfort. Finally, he decided to go and walk along a shady forest path nearby, where the breeze was a little stronger and the air was cooled from the passage of a nearby stream. Likely, he would be as uncomfortable there as here, but at least it would be pretty.
He went alone, moving quietly along a narrow track of packed dirt. Birds sang from the branches above and flowers nodded with the gentle wind. It wasn’t cooler, really, but it felt nice to be nestled among such beauty.
The burbling splash of the creek grew louder as he neared a small footbridge that crossed it, though the water was still out of sight. Hidden from view by flowering bushes and thick greenery. Yoshimoto looked forward to seeing the glimmer of sunlight dancing on the water. He stepped out past the last tangle of brush, his gaze falling to the water with anticipation.
And he froze.
There was a woman there, in a deeper pool of water. Her back was to him - and what a lovely back it was. Her hair fell in damp curls across her skin. Water glistened in it like gems set against silk. Droplets gleamed across her back and the curve of her hip, lazily trickling down to join the stream again.
She turned to the side, and he caught sight of the rise of her breast. The pert nipple crowned with glistening damp.
He knew he should look away. Cough or call out to let her know she was spotted. That she wasn’t alone. But he couldn’t tear his eyes from her beauty nor find the breath to speak at all. The word breathtaking was bandied about, he thought, but this was the first time he’d felt it in truth. This woman took his breath away, stole it with her grace and allure.
Yoshimoto wanted to paint her. To capture this moment forever. This fey creature, too lovely for mortal eyes . . . was he cursed or blesses for seeing her?
He did not realize he was leaning toward her until he lost his balance. Arms wheeling, he fell into the rushing water below. Yoshimoto wasn’t sure if he cried out or not, but she did. A shout of surprise as she turned to see him go under. He caught a glimpse of her face, eyes wide, lips parted. He thought he could die happy from the sight.
The heavy silk of his robes pulled him down and for a moment, he struggled. Then he found his footing and stood. The water here was only waist deep, and Yoshimoto felt a little silly for his moment of panic.
The woman had her arms crossed over her chest and a look of mild amusement. “Yoshimoto! What are you doing out here?”
He felt his face heat with embarrassment. The beauty was none other than the chatelaine of Azuchi castle. “I . . . didn’t recognize you.”
“I expect most people wouldn’t from that end . . .” She shook her head ruefully. “I thought Ranmaru was keeping watch. He was supposed to warn me if anyone came down the path. I guess he didn’t see you.”
“I saw no one watching the path.” Yoshimoto wasn’t sure where he ought to lay his eyes. Her face, most likely, but they kept drifting down toward her breast, her belly, the gentle swell of her hip and thigh. Nudity usually had little effect on him, other than aesthetic appreciation, but seeing her like this . . . lush and glistening . . . he felt his mouth go dry.
“Eyes. Up here.” She gave an embarrassed laugh. “When you look at me like that, I think I know what it feels like to be konpeito.”
“Konpeito? No, I think not. Such a treat dissolves quickly on the tongue, forgotten a moment later. You are a banquet to be savored. Complex, alluring, unforgettable.”
Her cheeks flushed with heat and she looked away. “You shouldn’t say things like that. I’ll take them the wrong way.”
“I don’t know what way that would be. I mean every word. You are a work of art. I could make a study of you.” He took a step closer, not meaning to exactly, but wanting to be closer. His hands itched to touch her. His lips yearned to taste. Every part of him ached with unexpected need.
She laughed. “See? Things like that make me think of very un-intellectual activities. Less Monet and more dirty finger painting.”
“I have no idea what you’re talking about.” His voice was low and his throat felt almost too tight for words. “Could I . . . kiss you?”
“It’s not a good idea. I’m pretty sure it’s a very bad idea. Very very bad.” Despite her words, she closed the distance between them, the few steps that held him in check.
Yoshimoto gave a soft, choked laugh. “It probably is. And yet -”  He kissed her hungrily, his mouth hot and desperate. His tongue slipped between her lips, tasting her sweetness, the flavor of sake and plums and the taste that was just her. His hands slid around her body, pulling her flush against him.
She held onto his shoulders and kissed him back with just as much desire as he felt.
“We shouldn’t,” he breathed, as the kiss broke.
“We really shouldn’t,” she agreed, sliding the wet silk from his shoulders to bare his skin.
There would be consequences. And yet, all of that felt very far away as he lost himself to her tender kisses and the satin of her skin.

Title: Good Night
Pairing: Ranmaru Kurosaki x Ai Mikaze
Rating: General
Word Count: 1001
Type: Fluff
Notes: This was my gift to my Secret Santa buddy in @dokidoki-pepperoni-discord‘s Secret Santa this year. I don’t write canon x canon pairings very often so I was a bit nervous to go into this since I have a complex about wanting to get characterization perfect even though it’s essentially impossible. My buddy liked it and I’m very glad for that!! Thank you, buddy, for giving me a little confidence and a smile.
~*~*~*~*~
Ai pressed the tips of his fingers against the glass. The window of the flat he shared with the rest of Quartet Night should be freezing, given it was the middle of the night on top of it snowing. But he didn’t feel the cold, he couldn’t.
When going out, he had to appear that temperature affected him in some way, but the way he was designed… It didn’t matter what he wore, he was always a comfortable temperature. It always interested him when Reiji complained about it being too cold or too hot, as well as the one time he had tried to grab something out of the oven while neglecting to protect his hands. Reiji said it had burned terribly, but there wasn’t anything Ai could compare that feeling to.
“Why are you still up?” Ai blinked slowly, his charge growing too low to realize someone had walked up behind him until arms encircled his body.
He leaned back into Ranmaru’s chest. “I was waiting for you,” Ai murmured. His voice was quiet, it almost sounded like a glitch in his system was occurring.
Ranmaru sighed softly. “I told you not to; you need time to rest so you don’t end up passing out. It’s still going to be snowing tomorrow.” He worried about Ai, knowing snow did the same thing to him that rain did. The four had a wintery shoot during the day tomorrow.
“Don’t you need rest as well?” Ai turned his head to look at Ranmaru, his cyan eyes a bit dim.
“It’s not as important as yours.” Ranmaru replied quickly, cutting Ai off before he could retort with a soft peck on the lips.
Was this it? The only aspect of burning that Ai could imagine. Being close to the one he loved filled him with something he couldn’t really describe. The word ‘love’ sufficed, but even then, it didn’t feel like enough.
The soft sound of gentle kisses filled both of their ears, drawing them closer still. Ai had turned fully now, facing Ranmaru as they embraced each other. “We should go to bed.” Ranmaru brushed strands of hair away from Ai’s face, watching as his eyes seemed to grow dimmer as each second ticked by.
Ai raised his hand to put if over Ranmaru’s as it settled against his cheek, eyes widening as he felt slight abrasions on his skin. “What happened?” Ai pulled Ranmaru’s hand from his face, holding it in both of his as he inspected it.
“It w-“
“A cat.” Ai interrupted Ranmaru before he could finish his statement, which earned him a resigned nod from his partner. “This is going to get you in trouble someday.”
Ranmaru knew this well, the number of times he’d been told off by management about his carelessness. ‘What if it has a disease?’ they’d say, not understanding what it felt to be truly alone like the stray cats did. Especially in the wintertime like this. “I couldn’t just leave her there.” His brow furrowed, the contrast of his true eye color and his contact making him look angry. Although he wasn’t, just concerned about the furry friend he had carried to the vet. He had returned home far later than he had planned to, but to save a lonely soul, it was worth it.
Ai looked Ranmaru in the eyes. “I know, just be careful.”
Ranmaru opened his mouth to retort but Ai was quicker to the beat. “Please?”
“I will.” Ranmaru’s stubbornness couldn’t trump the look Ai gave him whenever he was being sincere. It was hard for Ai to process his own feelings, something Ranmaru understood far too well.
Ranmaru’s gaze softened when Ai leaned into him fully, his eyelids drooping. “We really should head to bed.” He murmured, lifting Ai into a bridal carry.
Typically, Ai would reject this treatment. But truth be told, he was getting closer and closer to going into sleep mode standing there by the window. “Hmmm…” Ai hummed, nuzzling into Ranmaru’s shoulder.
Ranmaru quietly carried Ai to their room, careful not to wake the other two members of the group because either of them would likely be loud if woken.
Once Ranmaru was at the side of his and Ai’s shared bed, he shifted his balance tactfully to one foot and scooted the blankets back with the foot that was in the air. He silently thanked whatever higher power there was that he didn’t fall over.
“Are you awake?” Ranmaru breathed softly as he lowered his partner onto their bed.
Ai didn’t respond. He really had used all his energy to wait up for Ranmaru. It was touching to Ranmaru that Ai would wait so long, but he didn’t want it to affect the inner mechanisms of Ai.
Ranmaru stepped away from the bed to change into pajamas, he’d rather just sleep in his underwear, if that… But it was freezing. He had a guess as to who had turned the heat down, but he didn’t want to think of the name. It wasn’t the time to get annoyed.
After he had changed, Ranmaru carefully got into bed, pulling the blankets snuggly over himself and Ai.
“Good night…” Ai breathed, his dim eyes opening briefly as he curled closer to Ranmaru, nuzzling into him much like the freezing cat had earlier in the night.
Ranmaru pressed his lips to Ai’s, lingering there until Ai faded back into sleep mode. “Good night.” Ranmaru murmured, gathering the smaller figure into his arms and holding him close.
He felt so lucky to have someone like this, in the cold, in the warm. Anytime. Anywhere. Ranmaru was so used to feeling like nobody was there for him… Ai had really changed his outlook for the better. And it was something he’d never give up.
They slept that night soundly, reveling in each other’s company in their physical forms and their dreams, awaiting the next wintry day to come… Where they could awaken together, recharged from the other’s closeness.

Plots and Pleasing Smiles
@umbralaperture I accepted this “abuse” of my prompt system because it’s a special occasion. I’m only joking of course. Not only did this sound like a challenge, how could I possibly refuse a request for your birthday? I kinda hope this works… Please excuse the shameless self-insert in this one I couldn’t not be there for your special day. x
**The rest of the prompts received for my Thank You Plan will be written and posted starting in August. This is an early reveal of one so I do not miss a birthday.**

Work had been hectic and that was putting it mildly. Everyone seemed to want something doing and it all had to have been done yesterday. She sighed at her desk looking again at the clock on the wall taunting her with the reminder of the low passage of time.
She thought back on the past week that had seen the rest of the household acting unusual. Hushed voices, whispered secrets and late-night trysts that she had been left out of. She had naturally received constant reassurance that none of it was anything to worry about but how could she not when all the men in her life seemed intent to keep things from her?
*Sigh*
“You know that is you up to 8 sighs per minute? Gonna have to start charging you on excessive exhaling soon.” A mirthful voice came from next to her and it was only then that she noticed the other woman standing next to her.
“Is it? Damn sorry I guess I’m just a little tired.” A thin smile pulled at the edges of her mouth as she looked up at the teasing blue eyes of her friend.
“No wonder.” How many jobs did you get stuck with today? This has to be enough work for 6 people right here.” Aerion reached out and absently flipped the corners on the document files stacked high on the desktop. Her voice had a joking tone but the wince she failed to hide in her expression told a different story. She’s worried about me.
“Probably but it's ok I can do it.” She straightened in her chair again, a new resolve emerging with her attempt to reassure her friend.
“Just because you can do it Naiya doesn’t mean you should.” Aerion declared whilst swooping in to swipe half a stack of the files.
“Hey!” Naiya made a grab for the stolen workload only to have it effortlessly removed from her reach.
“A job halved is one less job for you to do at the end of the day. I’ve nearly finished mine I can do at least this much.” Aerion smiled knowing her friend was in no fit state to really put up a fight.
“Did I ever tell you how much I love you?”
“Not since I brought you coffee earlier. Besides you really want to be throwing around dangerous proclamations like who you love when you have a harem at home?” The smile on her face was as vulpine as someone else’s Naiya knew all too well.
“Haha, must you call them that?” Feeling a blush heating up her face Naiya laughed wryly.
“What else would you like me to call them? Anyway, none of that matters as long as you’re all happy and no one is getting hurt.” Aerion shrugged and thankfully dropped her teasing.
“How supportive.”
“Meh. It’s who I am. Oh shit, that’s my phone!” Scuttling back to her desk to grab the call. Naiya let out a bark of laughter when Aerion had to juggle the files in her arm and the receiver to prevent dropping them. Earning her a small pout from her friend as they stuck their tongue out at her whilst talking in her official business voice.
---
The commute home was cursed. The weather that had been forecast as sun all day had turned into a downpour of rain from nowhere, and it naturally just had to wait to do that at the exact moment she was getting off the train for her short walk home. Dropping her bag on the chair in the hallway she peeled her coat off discovering it had done nothing to prevent her from getting soaked.
“Great.” She grimaced and pulled a little at the fabric sticking to her skin.
“Princess you’re home!” The delighted voice didn’t give her a chance to prepare herself for the hug attack. A pair of deceptively strong arms wrapped around her from behind, the smell of peaches tickling her nose.
“That looks like fun. May I join?” He was a little more reserved than Ranmaru but it was clear Mitsunari was no less happy to welcome her home.”
“Sure. Hi Honey.” She freed her arms from the embrace she was already in to hold them out for the second man to come to her. An invitation he happily accepted. She giggled suddenly remembering Ieyasu’s comment about it like being greeted by a couple of puppies.
“We’ve all been waiting for you. You’re soaked!” Ranmaru pulled away from her suddenly realising the state she was in and began giving her a concerned look from the top of her head to her toes.
“Well, it did rain.”
“Come inside quickly I’ll go grab a towel. Ranmaru would you?” Mitsunari slipped away leaving her arms and she shivered at the loss of warmth.
“On it.” Ranmaru stooped down to scoop her up into a princess style carry and began walking as if she weighed no more than a throw pillow.
“I can walk you know?”
“Yes, but this way I get to hug you and get you warm all at once. You not want me to Princess?” He constructed his face into one that looked like a wounded puppy. He knew she couldn’t say anything against those eyes.
“That look should be illegal how do you expect me to say no?”
“Ran, put her down over here.” Kennyo called out from the sofa looking up from a book he had rested on the arm. Depositing her gently next to the calming influence in the house Ranmaru vanished into the kitchen where what sounded like a small army was fighting.
“Now then Angel drink this.” A large hand and honeyed voice supplied a steaming cup of cocoa. She relaxed even more finally feeling like she was officially home and took a sip.
“God that’s sweet.”
“I tried to stop him putting in so much sugar but he insisted it was not sweet enough.” Yuki grumbled his complaint from his position by Sasuke. It looked like the pair were engrossed in watching something on the latter’s laptop. Another project for work, I guess?
“Sweets are good for reviving the soul Yuki.” Shingen’s serious reply earned him an eye roll from the younger man.
“And rotting your teeth.” Hideyoshi gave his own opinion to no one, in particular, making her giggle at the familiar warmth in the room.
“If he had no teeth would he stop with the stomach-turning pillow talk?” Kenshin enquired swirling his glass of wine.
“Come on Kenshin we all said we’d give it a rest for the night.” Yoshimoto shrugged in a non-committal display of preferring not to get involved in anything that could develop into a war in the living room. His reclined pose by the window made him look like a finely sculpted work of art.
“You all did that? What exactly is going on?”
“Nothing for you to worry about, little mouse.” She had no idea where he had sprung from but Mitsuhide gave her nose a small tap with his finger startling her. A soft white towel fell over her head, turning her world dark for a few moments until she put down her empty cup and moved it enough to give a small judging glare to the smirking kitsune.
“Mitsuhide you have all been saying that for a week. I know I was busy with work but if something is going on, I want to know about it.” Naiya pouted, suppressing the sigh she knew was there.
“Fireball.” Nobunaga entered the room handing a large plain box off to Hideyoshi before grabbing a glass of whiskey and taking a seat. What is going on tonight? Hideyoshi vanished into the kitchen, her eyes followed him before tracking back to Nobunaga. “Do you not trust us?” Nobu had that unreadable expression fixed on his face as he looked at her. The same one he used in a boardroom when listening to someone give a report.
“You know I do. I just don’t like being left out the loop.” She busied herself with the towel drying off her hair only to find it plucked from her hands by Hideyoshi who had taken over the task without asking.
“It’s true even at work she has to know everything.” Mitsuhide cast out his playful comment as he watched Hideyoshi take over his usual mothering role.
“Well, how do you expect me to do my job if I didn’t?”
“Fair point.”
“What smells so good anyway?” Naiya tried to turn her head to get a better view of the kitchen. Every time one of the others went in or out the door served as a kind of fan to waft the smell of gastric temptation around. The only issue was from the angle she was in, and the speed with which they were all moving she couldn’t even get a glimpse.
“Dinner. Masa is doing it. It was supposed to be a BBQ but then the heaven’s opened and quashed that plan.” Shingen filled her in with as much detail as he was willing to divulge. Hideyoshi had retreated after smoothing down her hair attempting to stop Nobu from eating whatever contraband he suddenly noticed he had. Mitsuhide was stifling a laugh that probably gave away the fact that he was the source of whatever breach of the “no candy before dinner” rule.
“Are you warm enough?” Kennyo asked after softly closing his book and putting an arm around her shoulders, giving her a small squeeze.
“Yes, thank you Kennyo dear.”
“Dinner is about to come out. Are you all gonna get your butts into the dining room?” Masa bounced out the kitchen a tea towel draped over one shoulder bashing a ladle against a pot lid to gain everyone’s attention.
“Eloquent as ever Masa.” Yoshimoto cracked a joke that had everyone laughing before rising from his seat.
“Hey man, my food speaks for itself.”
“It’s true and it has much better manners.” Ieyasu grumbled from by Masa’s elbow as they had both been in the kitchen.
“HEY! Just for that Yasu I’m putting one less strawberry on your desert.” Masa tried to make a grab for the fluffy-haired blonde and missed.
“See if I care.”
---
“Oh my god! What is all this?” She couldn’t quite get over it. When they all made it to the dining room nothing was as it was normally. The furniture was still there but it was now covered in finely crafted paper decorations and things that looked like glitter gems. Fairy lights and strings of lanterns had been draped around the space too.
“It was supposed to be a surprise BBQ dinner but when it rained, we had to set everything up in here instead.” Ieyasu explained.
“We wanted to have dinner under the moon with our brightest star.” Shingen took her hand placing a kiss on the back of it.
“More poetic claptrap.” Kenshin said brushing past into the room making for the drinks set up on the sideboard.
“You guys did all this?”
“Yes. Ranmaru and Mitsunari were in charge of helping Yoshimoto with the paper decorations. Kennyo went out with Hideyoshi and Shingen to gather the rest of the decorations. Masa dragged Ieyasu around the market for the food.” Sasuke began his break down of the day's events as if he was reciting something from one of his science reports.
“It was hell” Ieyasu muttered his ears turning a little red for some reason.
“Kenshin and Mitsuhide arranged all the drinks. And Yukimura and I were in charge of all the setting up. And the dismantling…”
“And the setting up... again.” Yuki added putting an arm around Sasuke’s shoulders a proud smile on his face.
“Haha, that all sounds like a hell of a lot of work. Was this what you were all being so secretive about?” Naiya looked around the room the many smiling faces of the people she loved and who loved her in return. “It’s wonderful but don’t you think it’s a little overly elaborate for dinner?”
“What do you mean?” The smiles from before were replaced by ones of varying confusion.
“Oh, dear it seems the Princess has forgotten.” Mitsunari gave a kind look as he empathised with her. What? What have I forgotten?
“I think you could be right.”
“Foods here come and get it!” Masa came in carrying the last of the large platters of food, the roast beef and chicken carved up beautifully in a mouth-watering display.
“Great I’m starving.” The last man to join in the gathering stood in the doorway making an over-exaggerated display out of stretching, his shirt untucking itself from his pants revealing just a hint of bare skin at his hips
“Hey, Motonari where did you just spring from?” Ranmaru gave a judgemental glare. In all the break down of things done today, it didn’t appear that the guy with a reputation as most hard to pin down when chores were being done had actually done anything to help today.
“Nowhere. I was sleeping. Ooo chicken!” With carefree abandon and completely ignoring anyone else’s opinions on the matter, Motonari grabbed a chicken leg from the platter as it was being set down and brought it up to his mouth taring a piece off it like a caveman.
“Hey don’t go taking it like that! Bloody Pirate.”
“Snooze you lose.”
“What is it I’m supposed to have forgotten?” Her words drew 13.5 sets of eyes back to her as she was guided into her seat at the table. Seriously what is so important?
“What tomorrow is Fireball.” Nobu took a cake from a different table carrying it over to put in front of her. The beautiful mirror glaze looked like a galaxy.
“Nobu is that?”
“I went into town myself on an errand and got this from your favourite bakery.”
“Oh my…” Her eyes fell on the scripture picked out in flowing fondant on the top.
You are our Sun in the daytime and Brightest Star in our night
The room was silent for a moment waiting for her blissfully happy smile to settle on her face before it was broken by a chorus of voices. How could I have forgotten this?
“1, 2, 3… Happy Birthday, Princess!”

Chapter 1 - Meeting Him [QuartetNight Ver.]
Chapter 2  →
Camus Cryszard
As a student of Saotome Music High, everyone is mostly expected to either categorise themselves in common stereotypes. You, however, were not one of those people.
The moment you entered the school and had to pick a course; your heart had already decided. You had a passion for music, but not for playing or composing, rather, conducting.
You were quite well-known in Saotome, after all you were the first female in the history of Saotome's conducting course. Due to this, you had developed an instinct to try harder and be more ambitious.
As a project to pitch to the principal to include you in Saotome's premier concert for scouters, you had to come up with a new arrangement.
Carrying your composing files, you enter your practice hall where your usual orchestra group waited for you to arrive. To your surprise, there was a person lecturing them.
The tall man had his locks in a low ponytail. As you stepped in, the orchestra looked at you. Noticing that they weren't paying attention to him anymore, the man looked at you as well.
"Another late member?" He harshly said.
You were taken aback, but smoothly replied. "I'm their conductor. I wasn't informed that anyone else would be observing today."
The faces of your orchestra members were relieved from whatever scolding this man gave them. "Please do tell what you were lecturing my orchestra about," You said to the man, arranging your pieces on your desk.
"I was simply asking your party here why they feel that the practice halls can also be for horseplay and loitering," he crosses his arms, giving you a blaming look.
You sighed. "Fukuda, did everyone finish their tasks before I got here?"
The orchestra leader nodded immediately, then silently sitting down as you and the odd long-haired man have your showdown.
You turn to the man. "Great. I don't see why they cannot relax if they finish their tasks, Mr..."
"Camus. However I believe that there is no time to relax when your proposal is soon, LN-san."
"If this misunderstanding is cleared up, you can sit near the desk and begin your observation Mr Camus," You prepare yourself at the podium.
"Very well LN."
The two of you glared at each other the whole practice as the orchestra awkwardly play the whole time.
Ai Mikaze
You had a meeting with Ai Mikaze, a popular idol of the group Quartet Night. You were going to talk to him about the new ending track for the new season of the anime you were starring in.
You were a popular voice actress with a boyish wild attitude despite some of the cutesy roles you took on. Your fans still loved you anyway, to which you are extremely grateful for. Most of your roles consist of characters from shounen animes, but you still had some other roles in fictional idol games and shoujo animes.
The song that was meant for the ending track was about the character you voiced as, the main protagonist. You had to get Ai Mikaze to understand the personality of your character and honour it through the ending. The first episode is going to be released in two weeks’ time, meaning you had no time to waste. You walked into the studio and asked for the number of the recording room. You pushed the door open and found the famous Ai Mikaze standing there, looking at what seems to be a script.
"Hey there, name's LN YN. Nice to meet you Mikaze-kun!" You enthusiastically chirped.
He didn't reply and just stared at you.
"Umm..."
"Are you sure you are LN-san?" He said.
"Yes, I am..." You answered, quite confused. "Anyway, let's get on with the script!"
Deciding to forget about that awkward situation, you took a seat.
"What do you think about your character?" He asked you, taking a seat as well.
"What?"
"What do you think about your character?"
"I heard you the first time..." You corrected. He started to look puzzled. "Well I think with the new arc going on she's going to have to face her past. That's in the song, right?"
He handed me a piece of paper. It was the lyrics pre-written. "What?! This doesn't sound like her at all! How could they disgrace my precious child like this?"
Ai continued to stare at you with wide eyes. "Um, sorry Ai. There must be a mistake in the song here. It wasn't supposed to be like this. Sorry for wasting your time."
"We could fix it together," He insisted.
"Huh?"
You two spent the rest of the week fixing the song together. It was later re-approved by the audio director who thanked both of you for doing so.
He's a little odd, you thought. He's still nice though.
Reiji Kotobuki
You were a paramedic in training. You were quite studious and serious most of the time, even outside of your job. Your senior today was hired for the rehearsal concert of the popular idol group, Quartet Night.
You and your senior were watching from the side lines. The group was practicing the choreography to Poison Kiss. You didn't know the members much, but their songs often came on the radio.
Crash!
One of the idols fell to the floor. Your senior decided that you should examine the guy as he observes you. You nodded, grabbing your kit and running to the fallen idol.
The idol was panting, clutching his ankle. You asked his bandmate, a silver haired man. "Can you get him to sit on a chair?" He nodded, seating his friend down.
You scrambled to take off his shoe and his sock. You took out one of the ice packs and supported his foot. Quickly compressing the ice, the male groaned and winced.
You looked up at the male. "Sir, you'll be fine. After this I will wrap your ankle and continue to compress. May I ask what your name is?"
He stared at you, in a daze. He looked like a puppy, almost rivalling your own puppy back at your apartment.
"Sir?"
"Umm... Kotobuki Reiji."
"Ok. Now listen here Kotobuki-san, I'm going to begin wrapping..."
You continued to talk; however Reiji did not listen. He was too busy staring at you and your beauty to pay attention.
When you looked at him... your e/c eyes caught him off guard. There was so much emotion in them... concern, worry, calmness... It was enchanting.
No wait, it didn't even start from there. When he was in pain, the sight of you running towards him made his heart race. To see someone as gorgeous as you race to him... it was like a movie when the princess leaps into the arms of her lover.
"KOTOBUKI-SAN!"
"AH YES PRINCESS!" Reiji yelled.
"Huh?"
Reiji turned redder than Otoya's hair. "U-Uh continue please Miss Paramedic."
"As I was saying, I don't think you can dance tonight. You can still sing though. I'm sorry Kotobuki-san." You apologised sincerely. You felt bad for him, as he was an idol after all.
"Don't be sorry to me Miss Prin- I mean, Paramedic," Reiji replied. "On another note, what's your name? I feel awkward calling you Miss Princ- Paramedic."
"LN YN," You said. "I must leave now. Your bandmates must want to talk to you, and I need to let you rest. Get well soon."
"Thank you," Reiji said as you walked back to your senior. "Miss Princess..." He whispered.
Ranmaru Kurosaki
[This starts when you were children]
"YN-chan!"
Your best friend Ranmaru called to you. You waddled your way to him in your polka dot f/c bathing suit. Ranmaru was rich kid that moved into the fancy villa for the holiday. When your father was delivering fish to the villa, you followed him and met Ranmaru. You two became quick friends.
Today you two were playing on the seaside.
"YN-chan..."
"Yea Mawu-chan?" You say, as you gather water with your pail.
"My mommy says that we're going to leave soon. I have to go back to school as well," He says, pouting as he grips his swim trunks.
"You can visit next howiday right Mawu-chan?" You said, hopeful.
"But... I WANT YN-CHAN WITH ME!" He cried. He grabbed your hand and brought you to his mother.
"What is it Ranmaru dear?" She said, looking at the adorable couple. Secretly, YN's mother and her ship you two.
"Mama! I don't wanna leave!" Ranmaru cries.
"Eh? Ranmaru, we already talkedー"
"NO!! NOT WITHOUT YN-CHAN!" He held onto you tighter, as to prove his point.
His mother didn't know what to do. Ranmaru continued to throw a tantrum.
"I DON'T WANNA! I WANNA GO WITH YN-CHAN! I DON'T, I DON'T!"
"Ranmaru! YN has to stay here. She has her whole family here. We can't take her with us..." His mother comforted him.
"It's okay!" You cried out. "Becawse Mawu-chan is gonna visit me evewy howiday!"
As the day ended, both of your fathers had force you two apart (or more like Ranmaru from you) and you said farewell.
On the day of Ranmaru's departure, you two were on the sand on the beach you two met.
Ranmaru was already crying to you, telling you about stupid adults that cannot bring you.
"Mawu-chan!"
"Huh?"
You gave him a shell bracelet. "Mawu-chan... I know that you're sad. I'm sad twoo. But my granny says that if I give you this shell bracelet then you'll never forget me. I made it with granny. See, I have one too!"
You showed him the bracelet and they were indeed matching. "Like Mawu, I'm gonna follow you somedway! Because Mawu's name means follow right? Meaning I have to follow you one dway!"
Ranmaru held the bracelet in his hand. "Y-YN-CHANNN!!"
The two of you cried together.
"I'll mwiss you," you yelled, as you waved at the limo and a wailing Ranmaru at the window.
Fast forward to today's time period, you were a popular athlete, a surfer to be exact. You were at one of the beaches for your nationals competition. Today was your relaxing day, but that definitely won't stop you from surfing.
Unbeknownst to you, Quartet Night was having a photoshoot on the exact same beach you were at. Ranmaru Kurosaki, your childhood friend, was complaining to their manager.
"C'mon! I'm already done! Why should I wait for Ai? He's not even facing the waves!"
"Fine Kurosaki-kun. You can go ahead and surf. I'll be watching."
"Woo-hoo!"
"How impudent," Camus remarked.
Coincidentally, you were also about to catch the waves. Ranmaru rode the wave first, and you caught up to him.
This guy is really good, you thought. As a challenge for yourself, you tried to catch up to him. You decided to try the risky route and overtake him from above. You glimpsed back and the male was shocked at what skill you had. You smirked at him and went ahead. You noticed the male try to catch up to you but failed however, until the wave was nearing an end.
You decided to surf and jump it from the top. The male followed suit, and the wipeout occurred.
"You're not too bad," you commented to the male, who just resurfaced. You were about to sit on your board and heave yourself until the male gasped.
He was staring at your bracelet. The one you gave Mawu a long time ago.
"Oh this? It’s a bracelet I gave a friend a... long... time..."
You stopped when the male across from you lifted up a necklace that had the same shells in the identical order to yours. That's when it hit you.
"MAWU?!"
"YN?!"
Ranmaru swam to you and lifted you up. "YN-chan! I can't believe it's you!" He puts you on your board. "This is so surreal..."
"I know. What are you up to here? Don't tell me you're a part of the surfing contest," You said.
"No, I'm here for a photoshoot," he said truthfully.
"You're with Quartet Night?" You said, shocked. "You didn't look like Mawu at all, y'know, because of the eyes."
"It's an aesthetic. But you? Are you a part of that contest?" You nodded.
"Professional surfer... Wow."
"Wow yourself Mr. Idol," You laughed.
"H-Hey! Don't tease me like that! Also don't call me Mawu! It's Ranmaru!"
"Then call me YN, Ranmaru. I missed you y'know?"
"Me too YN." He said smiling.
"LN!" Your manager screamed.
"KUROSAKI!" His manager screamed.
"That's my manager..." You two said in unison to each other.
"See you around, Ranmaru," you said, swimming to shore.
"You too, YN."

A Thing called Christmas Spirit Kakuriyo no Yadomeshi Fic
Ranmaru sighed, standing in front of the receptionist desk, tapping his free claw against the desk while holding Nobunaga in the other.
He looked around, "Is it that much trouble to be serviced properly in this inn?" he growled under his breath, his entourage behind him stiffening as Ougon-douji giggled.
"Settle down Ranmaru, I'm sure Master Ogre God has his hands full preparing everything for the big feast." Ranmaru's ears moved, lowering slightly in submission to his mistress, but nevertheless his ire was bubbling beneath the surface.
Just where was Ginji?
Finally, the spider ayakashi came rushing from upstairs, nearly tripping over the last step as he jumped behind the receptionist desk with a bright smile plastered on his face, "E-Excuse my tardiness! Welcome to Tenjin'ya and our Chris-" Akatsuki leaned down to stare at the back of his hand, reading the word Aoi had mentioned just this morning, "-Christmas feast!" he grinned, taking paintbrush in hand ready to jot down their room numbers.
Ranmaru's tail wagged tensely behind him, "You obnoxious spider, tell me where-"
He froze when Ougon-doji cleared her throat beside him, a calm, deceptively sweet smile on her face. Ranmaru straightened and softened his tone, "…I would like to speak with Ginji if that is alright…please." He was thankful his scarlet hair partially hid the embarrassed expression on his face.
Akatsuki blinked, gaze moving toward the kitchen, "He should be back at Moonflower helping Aoi cook and prepare everything for this evening. If you're ready to help, they will certainly appreciate it." He glanced down at Orio-ya's mistress, "With your permission, of course, lady Ougon-douji." Akatsuki bowed respectfully.
She smiled, "Yes, of course, I'm certain my fellow employees will gladly lend their help." She turned her head and nodded.
Hatori grinned widely and smacked his hand on Ranmaru's shoulder harshly, "Of course! It would be our pleasure!"
Tokihiko nearly cried, "My precious Shizuna!" he clutched at the scented bouquet of flowers he had purchased on their way here.
Ranmaru swallowed, "Very well."
With that, Akatsuki showed them to their rooms, assisted by a few room attendants, and Ranmaru discreetly cleared his throat beside Akatsuki, who was carrying Ougon-douji's bags while the ayakashi went to search for the Master, "Say sp- ah, Akatsuki…will any family members of your staff join this…feast?"
Conversations of the past few days flew around Akatsuki's memories, "Uh, yes as far as I remember. A few siblings of Matsu, Take and Ume will join us tonight. Shizuna's mother will come too and Sasuke's family will take a day off their duties to eat with us."
A wave of disappointment crashed over the komainu unexpectedly, "I see." He gazed off to the side.
Akatsuki jumped, "That's right! Suzuran's coming too!" the spider ayakashi's whole demeanor brightened, a fond, brotherly smile stretched his lips, "The master met her in the apparent realm a few weeks ago and asked her if she would come. I almost forgot! Thankfully I made her a gift beforehand." He sighed in relief.
Unbeknownst to the front desk manager, Ranmaru's entire being froze, his legs the only functioning part of him.
"Oi, we're here." Ranmaru nearly walked straight into a wall, thankfully snapping back to his senses to turn around at a surprised-looking Akatsuki, "Where…were you going?"
Ranmaru cleared his throat, trying to ignore Nobunaga's knowing barking in his arms, the dog was simply too perceptive, "Nowhere." With that, Ranmaru disappeared into his room and shut the door closed.
Hatori grinned like a fool, dragging along Hideyoshi, "H-hey, is this alright? We didn't even announce ourselves!" the monkey ayakashi had no idea just how often Hatori did this.
The tengu only laughed, "Don't worry, the little miss is fine with this! I've been here plenty of times!" dragging along his friend, Hatori entered Moonflower, following the sweet smell of sweets and baked goods.
Hideyoshi asked himself just how many times was 'plenty'.
Both Orio-ya employees froze at the entrance when they spotted not only Ginji and Aoi, but the master himself, standing particularly close to Aoi, his hands trying to mold dough as the human showed him how to form it correctly.
"…Uh…" Aoi and Odanna looked up, a bright smile immediately taking over the human, "Hatori! Hideyoshi!" she dropped her own dough back on the white surface of the kitchen desk and walked out from behind the kitchen counter, embracing both stunned ayakashi.
Hideyoshi instinctively backed away, "H-Hey!"
Aoi didn't seem to mind, she just smiled, "What brings you two here so soon? The feast won't start until tonight." Ginji smiled from his position at drying the clean dishes, already knowing why the duo reacted the way they did.
Hatori swallowed, "W-we thought to help out!" he scratched the back of his neck, quickly rolling up the sleeves of his haori, "Akatsuki said you had your hands full in the kitchen and we had some spare time!"
"Actually, I was dragged-" Hatori promptly smacked the younger male on the back, forcing him in a respectful bow, "I-It would be our pleasure to help."
Aoi smiled, "Great! We actually have a few things we could use help over, right master?" she turned her head to look at the ayakashi in question, who nodded in return, smiling just as brightly as she did.
Hatori glanced at the smiling fox, who rose an eyebrow at the nervous look the tengu had about him, "I-if you don't mind, I'll help out Ginji with whatever he's doing!"
Aoi shook her head, "That's okay, Ginji was about to make noodles for tonight, there's a lot to be made so he can use all the help he can get." She turned to face Hideyoshi, "Hmmm…. I don't really know what you could do in the kitchen Hideyoshi…" Aoi frowned, rubbing her chin to think.
She turned her head when she felt the master's hand settle on her shoulder, "Why not have him help Sasuke in picking out the fruits in the garden?" the monkey ayakashi warily looked at the tall ogre god, not believing he was standing right in front of him.
Realization dawned in Aoi's eyes, "That's right! I'm sure Sasuke could use a helping hand too, since we have so many." She bent down slightly to be more at eye level with Hideyoshi, "Would you mind helping Sasuke out? He should be outside, if you follow the dirt path up you should turn right and walk a little further ahead to reach the gardens."
Wordlessly, Hideyoshi nodded, spotting an empty basket settled on one of the empty tables, "I'll…take this." He nodded at the duo, before walking outside.
Odanna chuckled, "He seemed a bit nervous."
Aoi smiled, "I'm sure everyone else is too, we have a lot of work to do before we're anywhere near done. Come on master!" Aoi tugged on his sleeve, dragging the smiling ogre god along back to their work station, watched by a bewildered-looking tengu and a smug kitsune at the back.
They were intercepted by Ougon-douji however, settled in one of the high chairs right in front of the wheat-covered surface the dough was on.
Odanna smiled, "I thought you'd join us later." He nodded in her direction, she smiled.
"I've been looking for you, it seems you are preoccupied however." Her knowing eyes slid over to Aoi.
Aoi quickly sprung into action, straightening out her back, "Not at all!" she pushed a surprised Odanna towards Orio-ya's mistress innkeeper, "Don't let me stop you master, I can handle things on my own. Thank you for your help." Aoi smiled warmly up at him.
Odanna frowned, this wasn't quite what he had been expecting…
He glanced back at Ougon-douji, who hid a smile beneath her fan.
His frown deepened, "Are you sure Aoi? I'm sure Ougon-douji can-"
Aoi quickly shook her head, "Nonsense master! You shouldn't keep your guests waiting! Besides, I have Ginji and Hatori to help me run the kitchen." She grinned confidently and Ginji waved, feeling pity for the poor master. Hatori had his arms crossed, shaking his head.
Odanna sighed, shoulders slumping in defeat, "Alright…if you say so. I'll come later to check on you." Aoi nodded, shooing him off and waving at Ougon-douji as the two master innkeepers exited Moonflower.
She tried to ignore the sudden loneliness enveloping her, despite Ginji and Hatori's presence in the kitchen.
Odanna sighed, "You did this on purpose, didn't you?"
The smaller woman smiled innocently, "Whatever could you mean, dear Ogre God."
Odanna smirked, "Well, I suppose I should've expected one of your little games, it's been too long since you've had the opportunity to prank me, after all." He watched his attendants set up various, colorful decorations they'd purchased from the apparent realm, a fond smile stretching his lips.
The small zashiki-warashi hid a secretive smile behind her sleeve, "I apologize for taking you away from your lovely bride," she looked up at her old friend, "However, there's been an urgent matter I wanted to discuss with you."
The oni's brow rose in question, "Urgent matter?"
He led them toward a more secluded area of the inn to talk in private as Ougon-douji turned to him and bowed, "You've offered a great amount of help during the festival in our time of need, for that Orio-ya is in your debt." Her stance straightened regally and her eyes met those of her old friend, "And I've repaid it."
Odanna blinked, "…Repaid it?"
The small ayakashi nodded, "I believe you've met the thunder beast Raiju before."
Odanna's expression twisted in discomfort, hands tightening within his large sleeves. His answer was a wordless nod.
A small smile stretched the blonde's mouth, "It has come to my ears that he mistreated your ogre bride while under Orio-ya's protection, such behavior cannot go unpunished, you understand." Something changed in her eyes, something that made Odanna chuckle.
"Don't tell me you threw him into the sea to be swallowed by the Umi-bouzu?" it wouldn't be beneath her to do so, after all, tales of her rarely evoked wrath were just as terrifying as his.
She shook her head slowly, "No, he has enough work in keeping the impurities of the ocean at bay."
Odanna grew slightly concerned, "Now you've got my attention, just what did you do?"
She smiled.
In a land far, far away…
Ice cold water drenched the once nobleman to the bone and he shivered violently, another streak of fire zipping past his bare feet as a booming, commanding voice roared over his whimpers, "I said we need electricity! Do you think my poor village can afford to be without warm food and heat during winter!?"
Raiju panted, using his powers to charge the long wires attached to him, having seen these once in the Apparent realm from an old friend of his. They sucked his energy and transported it into the houses of the small village he was confided in.
His eyes narrowed, "That woman! How dare she trap me in such a filthy place! Once I escape I shall-"
SPLASH!
Fire streamed out of the fire ayakashi's nose, his red eyes flashing in rage as he held another bucket full of ice cold water threateningly over the thunder beast, "I said work!"
"Y-Yes!" Raiju screamed.
Tenjin'ya
Odanna stared at his friend for a moment, sighing, "Well, whatever it is you've done, thank you." He bowed briefly, "I do hope you didn't pull your punches."
Ougon-douji giggled behind her sleeve, "Believe me, the harsher the winter, the more severe his punishment." The ogre god didn't even want to know what sort of wicked punishment the mischievous ayakashi had thought of, he was just secretly glad the thunder beast suffered one way or another.
He guided his friend back in the direction of the kitchen, "Thank you for your act of kindness, however, should he have returned at some point, I would've taken care of him."
She smiled at the bloodthirstiness in his eyes, which was gone as quick as it came, "I'm sure you would have, ogre god."
The master innkeeper of Tenjin'ya smiled.
Oryo sighed for the umpteenth time that day, "I see you haven't changed a bit, little fire rat." She smirked playfully down at the pink haired girl, who pouted at the older woman.
"And I see Aoi's warmth didn't touch your ice cold heart one bit, snow witch!" Oryo pretended to be offended, threateningly raising her hand where her ice powers started to manifest.
"I see someone needs to cool off!" she butted heads with her former rival-turned good friend, both women growling.
"I see someone needs to thaw!" fire danced along Nene's palm, close to Oryo's glowing blue hand when Ranmaru suddenly appeared from around the corner and spotted the bickering pair.
"Nene, what did I tell you about behaving yourself?" he frowned disapprovingly at the small fire rat ayakashi, who immediately canceled her magic and bowed in apology before her master.
"My apologies, master Ranmaru." She bowed her head deep, until Oryo suddenly spoke up.
"Oh, lighten up big guy, it's me who started it in the first place." Oryo winked at her bewildered friend, who could only blink up at her. Oryo rested a hand on her hip, mustering the Hachiyo up and down with a smile, "Say, how comes you asked Akatsuki if his sister will be here tonight?" the snow womans smile was sweet, at least it looked like it.
The komainu bristled, walking past the two females, "Cant a fellow guest be curious of the participation of more guests? Since we will share an evening feast together." With that, the red haired man descended the stairs and walked in the direction of the kitchen, pointedly not looking at Akatsuki writing down something at his desk.
Oryo crossed her arms and smirked while Nene only looked on in confusion, "I don't get it, why are you looking so smug?"
The white haired ayakashi giggled behind her sleeve, "Oh nothing, you will learn once you're older." The remark didn't go unheard by the fire rat and almost immediately another verbal fight broke out.
"You mean as old as you ice queen?!"
"What did you call me you little spitfire?!"
Akatsuki sighed, flipping over a page to look at the guest list, "This will be a long night…"
A few hours later, just before the start of the festivities…
Akatsuki politely greeted the incoming guests, among them the noble couple Nuinoin and his wife Ritsuko, who smiled and bowed, heading for the kitchen where the festivities would partly take place.
The next guest made Akatsuki genuinely beam in happiness as he walked around the counter, "Suzuran!" the red haired ayakashi hugged his twin sister, who hugged him back just as tightly, smiling.
"Big brother!" she laughed in delight, breaking away from the hug to look at his face, "I missed you so much! I'm so glad the master invited me!"
Akatsuki grinned, "Of course! Don't be silly, why wouldn't he invite you? Besides, this party would be boring without you." He smiled and grabbed her bags, heading upstairs while she followed, "So tell me, how is it back there in the apparent realm? How's Shiro?"
A soft look crossed her beautiful features and Akatsuki was reminded of a nostalgic moment in their childhood where she always smiled so tenderly, his little sister, "He's doing well, I clean the grave regularly and the tree is in full bloom! There are many different people there, I even work in a small café and play for the customers there." She smiled, gesturing to her new kimono, "After all, I couldn't just come looking all worn out, right?" she winked and Akatsuki laughed, "How are you Akatsuki? How is it going in Tenjin'ya?"
The spider ayakashi smiled, making a turn into the corridor, "Fine, we're busy but it's good for business so I can't really complain." His eyes widened when the events of the past few months came flooding back, "Oh right! There's so much I gotta tell you! A lot of things happened since the last time you were here, you know."
Suzuran giggled seeing the almost excited expression on her grouchy brother's face, "I can't wait to hear all about it! Where's Aoi anyway? I hope the master is treating her as well as I think he does."
Akatsuki heaved a nervous sigh, "Oh, I think he treats her far better than you think…" he cleared his throat, opening one of the empty rooms and setting her bags inside.
Suzuran rose an eyebrow curiously, following her brother out of the guest room and back down the stairs, "I can't wait to meet everyone again! I hadn't seen the master and Aoi and the rest in so long." Suzuran spotted many unfamiliar faces entering Tenjin'ya, "Oh, will there be other guests too?"
Akatsuki nodded, "There sure will, friends of the master mostly and a few people Aoi has helped since she's living here." A grimace twisted his face, "People from Orio-ya are here too."
Suzuran frowned in concern, "You have this look on your face…as if you want to fight." She sighed, "Guess some things will never change, will they big brother?" she smiled at the way his cheeks flushed in embarrassment.
The siblings were just nearing the kitchen, the bustling commotion behind the door alerting them already of the atmosphere inside, it sounded lively and jovial, festive, just like the holiday they celebrated.
Akatsuki opened the door for his sister and the first thing they spotted was the master balancing a food tray in one hand and supporting Aoi's back with the other, she herself carrying a rather large, deep bowl filled with what Suzuran guessed was some type of snack for the main course.
Aoi spotted her before the master did and she beamed, "Suzuran! You're back!" the master tightened his grip on the woman when she moved too quickly, chuckling.
"Careful Aoi, you almost fell." He eased her onto her feet, making sure she had stability before setting the tray down in the middle of the large, long table they'd brought in from the chief chef's kitchen.
Suzuran could see the other guests chatting amongst themselves, some stopping their chatting in order to greet her and she waved and bowed, before returning Aoi's joyful hug, "I'm glad to be back Aoi!" she hugged the human woman tightly, breaking apart to bow deeply before the ogre god, "Master, it's good to see you again."
The master smiled and bowed as well, "It's good to see you too Suzuran, you look well." His expression softened, eyeing the glint in her eyes, a testament to how content she finally was.
"You look well too master, I trust you've been treating Aoi well, huh?" her eyes drifted between them, paying more attention to how close they stood together and how relaxed Aoi seemed now in the master's presence. The genuine, warm smile playing at the master's lips gave her several clues.
Aoi's voice faltered slightly, "D-don't be silly Suzuran, of course the master's been treating me well," she sent an arched brow the ogre's way, "However, he seems to be treated too well lately, master where are the cooked vegetables?" she planted her hands on her hips, despite their obvious height difference, she stared him down.
The ogre god scratched the back of his head, chuckling nervously, "Ah, it seems to be at the back." He grinned almost cheekily, "Well, I suppose even the husband can become idle in the presence of his radiant wife." Suzuran swore she saw the master wink, but Aoi's lack of a blush and almost natural transition in handling the kitchen made her think otherwise.
She leaned into her brother, "Brother, just what happened here?! Are they married already?!" her eyes shot back towards the two working in the kitchen, noticing how the master's gaze strayed to Aoi a few times.
Akatsuki heaved a deep sigh, "They might as well be…"
"Ah, miss Suzuran, I believe." The spider ayakashi turned at the sound of her name and stared up at the blue eyes of none other than the komainu she'd seen years ago.
"Oh, Lord Ranmaru, you're here too?" she smiled, not noticing her brother stiffening beside her.
The redhead bowed, "Yes, we were invited by the Master under Aoi's specific request." He smiled, trying to calm his slightly swishing tail, "And please you may call me Ranmaru."
Suzuran blushed, the action not going unnoticed by her overprotective brother, "Alright, that's enough, we still need to fix the kitchen!" Ranmaru's mood soured at the obnoxious spider ayakashi, while politely smiling down at Suzuran.
"Care to join me for some tea? It's delicious." Ranmaru motioned towards a stool he'd pulled out.
Akatsuki growled, "Hey! Don't ignore mpffuwah-!" Ranmaru's tail flicked at Akatsuki's face, his sister secretly amused at the action.
Suzuran smiled, giggling behind her sleeve as she followed the komainu towards the table, where the accountant and snow woman sat, appearing to be bickering.
"I told you I did not play with the tube kittens, snow witch!" Byakuya spat, eyes narrowing in warning at the amused woman sitting in front of him.
"And I told you my sources never lie, nyaa." Oryo laughed at the redness spreading over the accountant's face.
He muttered something under his breath, to which he harshly got kicked by said snow woman, who leaned over the table, angrily staring him down, "What was that, bookworm?!"
Byakuya was now standing as well and Ranmaru discreetly coughed into his fist, "…Why don't we go somewhere more quiet until the festivities begin?" he looked down softly at the spider ayakashi, who smiled back up at him.
"I'd love to." Ranmaru allowed a tiny smile to curl his lips, guiding the woman outside towards the beautiful willow tree that had grown rapidly over the course of a year, thanks to the fast growing beans the laboratory had developed.
Aoi watched the couple exit from the corner of her eye, the rhythmic motions of drying the dish in her hand never stopping until the master bumped shoulders with her lightly as he leaned over close to her, "It appears they get along well."
Aoi, either not noticing the closeness or not minding it, calmly whispered back close to the master's ear, "Mhm, I never would've thought they would. I mean…it's Ranmaru."
Odanna chuckled, "Quite true, though even a dog whose bark is fierce can hold a gentle heart." He looked down at Aoi, smiling sweetly.
Aoi smiled back, "I guess you're right, master."
Odanna looked at her for a little longer, clearing his throat, "Aoi, if you agree, I would like to ask you if you and I could-"
"Ho, what was that about my dear master? Don't tell me he abducted one of your employees?" right, they almost forgot about Hatori.
Aoi turned around, giggling, "I think she was a willing prisoner if that's what it was."
Hatori rose an eyebrow, "I see little missy here is getting bold. Whatever gave you the idea that Ranmaru of all people has a thing for Akatsuki's sister?" the tengu looked skeptical if anything, suspiciously looking out the open door, just so seeing the backs of his master and the young former geisha.
Aoi smiled, "You know, now that I think about it, they do look kind of cute together, right master?" Aoi looked at the ogre god, who heaved a long suffering sigh, "Huh? What's wrong?" she blinked.
Odanna immediately straightened, "Ah, nothing Aoi." He looked out the door, spotting the pair, "They do appear to be fond of one another, I wonder."
Aoi smiled, not noticing the defeated look the master had at being interrupted asking Aoi to dine with him, "Let's see what happens."
Hatori grinned, "See? Why not get involved missy? I bet it will be fun!"
Aoi and Odanna looked at each-other questioningly, before they both smiled.
