“america has no culture” and yet when americans visit other states or regions of america they get culture shock. when I was in college, my group of friends loved to compare dialects, religions, and cultural practices because we were from very different places (New York City, Vermont, Texas)
well we’re easily startled but like. I hate many things about living in this country most of which have to do with our evil government and history of extreme violence and oppression that we continue to this day. but the amount of cultural diversity in terms of regional and immigrant cultures (and where those intersect!) is like. easily the best part of being here

losing my mind over pricey lip balm being in percy’s bag in the new tlovm thing. am I just starved for vm content or is this actually the funniest thing on the planet. vex handles his finances and she’s letting him buy the good stuff? beeswax? besotted. to be fair she probably enjoys watching him put it on. the mental image of someone trying to say something to him while he’s mid lip balm application and he just holds up a finger and won’t let them speak until he’s finished. this is the most self destructive man ever conceived. he once jumped into a pool with a kettle full of sodium just to win a canonball contest. in tlovm he canonically shot a hole through his palm. but god forbid his lips be dry.

Probably going to rename Emma for symbolism…
Ziggy Lovett remains the same. Ziggy is derived from the vulture from the jungle book that was repurposed in some game and made evil. Lovett was chosen for its meaning of “wolf cub”, its similarity to the word “love”, and the famous bearer from Sweeney Todd. Both still fit him exceedingly well!

typically white people obsessed with saying “white people have no culture” every time they open their mouths and then in the next breath make sure to tell people “you’re not allowed to say you’re anything other than american because you weren’t born in another country.” are so fucking annoying. like. yeah. there is no collective “white culture”. there’s culture in the sub groups of american immigrants. if your ancestors aren’t english, you have a culture to connect with and learn about. most non-english immigrants came to america because they had to either to avoid death or for a better life in a rough time period of their home country’s history. mine came from germany to escape the holocaust and some didn’t make it. you’re allowed to learn about the culture you missed out on and connect with your family’s ancestry. as long as you’re being respectful, there’s literally nothing wrong with it.
(there might be closed practices you need to be invited/accepted into, but that falls under “being respectful” imo)
