So I'm cursed with the knowledge that the creators/wikipedia page/every single instance of media coverage of Blue Eye Samurai explicitly made Mizu canonically fEmALe and I hate this?? I've read the Jane Wu interview and everything and I understand where she's coming from and the show's worth watching and there's a lot of obvious talent and writing chops that went into making it but it also woulda been so much cooler and frankly more compelling if the creators weren't CIS like frfr how the hell are you going to put so much painfully, glaringly obvious queer/trans coding and transmasc trauma into quite literally every aspect of a focal character and then deny me trans Mizu with all these quotes about how "She's an unconventional woman suppressed by the oppressive patriarchy of her time"?? I don't care how reasonable this complaint is I'm fucking ANNOYED, this is a MAN and the world owes me this much

I've been cooking, folks. Grilling. Simmering. Boiling. Various other synonyms. About *JigZeni* of all things. My fixation ship just HAD to be a rarepair, didn't it?? I tried to condense pretty much all of my thoughts into one post and I might have gotten a *bit* carried away, oops. It's probably not THAT long, but still. I regret nothing.

- I imagine (in a general sense, headcanons aside, characters as base as can be) that if Lupin were to never make a move and continue with the coy "will we won't we" shit with Jigen and Zenigata, that they would get fed up to a point where they might attempt to seek solace with each other on a somewhat frequent basis.

It'd probably happen on accident at first; a chance meetup at a bar, the gang gets split up, Zeni has Jig cuffed in the back of a squad car just-another-day-of-the-week style, and one gets to talking while the other decides to humor for once. And I doubt either would be against chatting again after, and lord knows these two like their seedy bar trips, so why not let fate decide when?

- This can be to varying degrees of intimacy!! I love how all of the ships let you do that in some capacity, but JigZeni feels like one of the more flexible ones.

Whether it be as simple as complaining over drinks for a few hours or taking things a step further and heading back to some motel to "get it out of their systems" in "other" ways, ahem ahem.

Either way, they find that they enjoy the other's company and, to their abject horror, whatever weird friendship thing they've developed ends up turning into something genuine and (even worse) autonomous from Lupin.

Because what are they without him? What would they become?? They sure as hell don't know!! But hey, at least there's one other human being on this planet who GETS it.

- And I say that with relative confidence because I see Jigen and Zenigata being on the more (since a better word escapes me) *monogamous* side?? Like they put a lot of weight into a few singular relationships.

They have acquaintances, yes, but how many can they truly call a friend? How many can they trust, *beyond question*, to have their backs, to keep their secrets, to protect their lives, even?? Because trust is a big thing for these two!! Losing someone close hits them way harder than most, to a point where it's actively harmful and discourages them from pursuing anything concrete (also doesn't help that their luck with partners is absolute *shite* and things rarely ever end on a decent/ non-tragic note).

Jigen got SO lucky with Lupin. They ooze trust for each other, and the same goes for Goemon, too. And for a guy like Jigen, having not one but TWO whole-ass people he can depend on is absolutely WILD to him. They're all he needs, really. Zenigata still hasn't found something that concrete yet (on HIS side of the law, at least), and given the nature of the series and his role within it, there's an incredibly low likelihood he ever will.

But at least Jigen knows that pain. He's been there! He can relate! He can console! And Zenigata KNOWS it's legit because he's read, like, *so* many files about this guy. He's Lupin's not-that-much-better half ffs. Zenigata knows Jigen's Been Through It and the fact that Jigen even TRIES to relate despite his rough-ass persona really gets through to him in a way that no one else can.

- All of that baggage would bleed into why they're hesitant to blatantly pursue Lupin. Even though they know that Lupin CAN and WILL reciprocate (enthusiastically, even), Jigen and Zenigata, deep down, also know that he'd never be able to give "all of himself" to them like they are willing to for him.

Jigen is dissatisfied (probably even jealous) of Lupin and Fujiko's goings-on even though he knows it's a *consensual* sort of give-and-take, and you CANNOT tell me that Zenigata isn't the slightest bit jealous of Lupin's tight-knit camaraderie with his crew. "I could treat you so much better", "I wish I could have that attention all to myself" sorta vibes. Don't even get me STARTED on how the excluded party would feel about JigLup/ LuZeni, yeesh.

- Lupin loves them profoundly, no doubts there, but Lupin also loves *everyone*. Which basically turns into if they can't have all of *him*, then at least they can have all of *each other*, y'know??

Even if their friendship (or something more) lasting is impossible, at least they can pretend for a little while.

At least SOMEONE gets it, and that someone also happens to look pretty damn handsome in a fedora, too.

Plus Zenigata is Jigen's type. End of discussion.

Doing for other people what you wish others did for you only works to an extent. I was thinking about that earlier today. I try my best to be the person I always wanted to interact with. But at some point it gets a little depressing. At some point I dedicate a lot of my life to being very good at giving the love and attention I want to receive but never have.

Like, I wish anyone would get as excited about the things I make as I get about the things others make. That someone would be as interested in my outfit as I am of others'. Analysze the themes of things I write the way I try to for others. Be as earnestly facinated by me as I am by others.

It's not that I do any of it because I expect reciprocation. I just deeply love other people. They make me so earnestly and excitedly happy and I'm so happy to have the skills of articulation and analysis to show it in a way that can make people so happy. I guess it's just hard to even imagine someone loving me half that much.

And that's kind of depressing.

YEAAAHHH I LOVE STRAWBERRY MILK!!! it's so so so yummy it's literally my comfort drink rn like,, and it's not the kind of overpowering sweet i get from other sweet beverages and soft drinks and aaaaaaaaaah

!! SO TRUEEE 🥺 Strawberry milk is so so soo very scrumpsh and i find it really comforting, too!

And !! Okok so my strawberry milk is pretty easy!! All you really need is milk (sweetened condensed milk is good or fresh milk and throw in some honey. Coconut milk works for anyone who's lactose intolerant!!) and strawberries. You do need a blender for this, or just something to sorta mash the strawberries like a fork.

So!! Very very easy recipe, feel free to tweak it as you see fit. I typically use about half a cup of cut strawberries for each cup of strawberry milk that I plan to make !!

So !! Once you've cleaned and washed your strawberries, you have to puree those via either mashing them by hand with a fork or tossing them into a blender.

Once they're sufficiently pureed and mashed, you throw in your sweetener— either sweetened condensed milk or honey. I typically advise against using sugar, since I heard that you have to either cook the sugar into the puree or wait for it to melt, which can take some time. I usually just eyeball how much condensed milk or honey i toss in there, so how much you put in is up to you!

From there, just mix the strawberries and sweetener together until they're well combined, add in a cup or so of milk and then mix that together and !! voila !! some homemade strawberry milk :D

other items such as a mirror and candles (looking forward into the future) or a statue of the family's favored deity (the goddess of fertility is favorite for the celebration) as well as substitutes for each item are common. some families choose to use the display as a centerpiece on their dining table or place it on a completely separate table, often placing any presents underneath. additionally, a few families also choose the items on their tables to all have the same first letter in ancient nabooian, but this is rarer custom.

altogether, the traditional spring new year and its corresponding festival is the biggest celebration on naboo in its calendar year, and to not mark it in some way, even if you are far across the stars from home, is almost unthinkable.

i really want to write a song one day

#⋯ ꒰ა starry thoughts ໒꒱ *·˚ #my inspiration to write poetry came back today... or rather yesterday now #but i've been searching up the meanings behind lyrics of songs lately a lot more than i usually do (though i do like my own interpretation #i also want to see the actual meaning in mind and kind of do prefer that i think) songs not from video games btw! #bcs if it's from video games. you can bet i already searched up immediately lol <3 #but uhm. yeah. i love writing and i know i have a creative mind ever since i was really young and i love music! #i remember in the car when i was really young i liked to imagine song lyrics alongside melodies? but i want to do that someday #in a proper way. yk. idk how people make songs tbh but i love music so very much i do want to make my own one day. #just casually though GBHJSEBGJH i am very ambitious but i doubt and also don't want to get big in the music scene. but also #it's not as if i'll ever really know! and i'm not sure to what extent i want to be involved with making music. considering i want a #career relating to computer science or psychology/psychiatry or law so... yeah. and i want to go overseas. and explore. and travel. #and i want to make my own video game and write my own book. or multiple of them. so. yeah. #i've always been very ambitious but it was paired with my mind that for some reason never thought i'd have a future but now it's #getting. really there. and it's scary but also it's exciting and still scarier but also. yeah. it's nice. so i'll actually work towards my #dreams! tbh for a long time? i wasn't sure what dreams and hopes i had... like. idk. i just couldn't remember. but now i do. #so i'll try my best and try to be kinder to myself. and uh idk if anyone read this oops i'm rambling at almost 1 am. but yeah! <3 #don't forget to treat yourself well. you deserve happiness and success. love yourself. don't give up. you'll achieve your dreams. <33

Changes for wip roundup? 👀

anna!! sorry for taking so long answering this one as well!! but thank you SO MUCH for indulging my wolcred propaganda! <3

And lright this one is a MESS. I wrote it right when I was playing endwalker and I was really overwhelmed with the story™ that I made  mess of this wip so like for the last few months or so I’ve been working on rewriting everything lol so I’ll give you some of my thoughts abt it and a small snippet since I can’t get anything more substantial that I’m satisfied with lol

wip roundup :)

This fic is like following right after the scions are back from the moon. I was overwhelmed with the fact that the WOL didn’t have much saying with the twins and how Fourchenault reacted to them. I was like, yeah, she’s proud of them. They deserve to know that, but also, I’m not sure she would be brave enough to do so. So well this fic starts with me realizing like “alright, thancred would get it. better than anyone” so the first part follows him seeing how she reacts to everything that’s happening with the WOL and making the connections like how he felt about ryne, etc etc

But of course,,, my excuse for this fic was Thesa’s haircut first and foremost. Basically I hc Azem to have insane long hair, and Thesa always had longer hair, and this is like the first time she cut it out and it’s incredibly short. Basically the second part goes from her having a bit of breakdown seeing the moon burning + overthinking about that image of hythlo she saw on the moon and everything that happened there and going “I need new. The final days can’t happen again, things gotta change NOW.” Until she interrupts my Alisaie like knocking on the door which is like the cannon visiting for her during that quest!!

And ofc Alie changes her mind a bit… but she still gets that feeling so this is SO SPECIFIC but like you know the whole “wrapping the red thing around your thinger so you don’t forget?” She does it with a strand of hair, just a reminder (things he has lost etc etc) and chops everything off. But then, ofc, the beginning alone isn’t enough for me so the last part is Thancred’s reaction to it, since I like to think they spend their nights together whenever they can and they DEFINITELY would want to on this one night. There is a bit of that part before any rewriting lol:

A knock on door cut off any other conclusion that Thesa would have come with. She hadn't heard footsteps down the hallway, and the beat was too light to be anyone else — though she doubted many others besides Alisaie would be awake and willing to visit after a day like this. So she calls his name lightly as she walks to the door, and from the suppressed laugh, she was sure.

“It's me.” Thancred’s voice is softer beyond the closed door. She finally quickened her pace to unlock it when he laughed again. “I hope you didn't have to crawl under the covers to-”

From the look he had on his eyes, Thancred seemed to have specific intentions for the visit. However, as soon as she appeared from behind the door and their eyes finally met, the hyur could have sworn that all the thoughts he had — along with all the rehearsed words he had cooked up - slipped his mind.

Thesa freezes for a second too, unsure how to react. Maybe she would explain later, but for some reason, she waited for his reaction to continue.

Thancred seemed entranced for a second as a smile seemed to bump into his face, and then, he made the greatest effort to move; forcing his hand up until he finally reached the messy strands. His right hand stops to her left side, with his thumb behind his ear so he could feel each of the threads between his fingers — clenching his fist to lightly pull them and feel them falling off before repeating the same thing but resting his palm next to her face.

“By the twelve.” He says in a sigh, slightly embarrassed to clearly see the situation they were in as his left hand reached for the longer loose strand and curled it around his fingers before resting his hand on the side of her face, cupping her cheeks, and finally confessing, exactly, the same conclusion of hers. “Perfect.”

He looked at her with different eyes than First and even more different than Walking Sands. Eyes that stretched far farther than he had previously seen — and yet, without missing all the admiration and affection he had always carried. Maybe slightly more, even.

"For a second I didn't recognize you," he smiled, tugging lightly on the strand with a teasing smile, which soon turned into a relieved sigh when he tilted his head to the side, finally meeting her eyes again. "But there she is."

#it just feels ooc for some of them and I don't like how I did some of the exposition so yeah rewriting it. I just need to get in the right #headspace to finish it lol those more canon ones makes me anxious to finish for NO REASON other than my girl deserves the best. so yeah. #ALSO fun fact I feel like I need to share: this fic is only something bc I was frantically doodling on my sketchbook after finishing that #quest. i have the date here lol 3/3/22 (not that long ago ik) but yeah i end up with thumbnail for this little comic #with a BUNCH of notes around it. its kinda overly angsty bc i was feeling like thag at the time bc HYTHLO's “Don't you agree hades?” OR WTV #the notes summarizes to 'but then it does not matter if you hair feels lighter because you have their images engraved in #your mind and you do not have the strength to cut those off so all you do is ask /what now/ but haven't you learned? images can't talk' #and the progression of the coming is her cutting her head and the panels kinda move like a camera to finalize focusing on her back staring #at a mirror reflection the image of emet (black robs + hole in his chest) and the image of hythlo she has for now (from the moon cutscene) #so yeah...... maybe it all started with my hythazemet brainrot and then the fic was too much on alisaie and thancred so i had trouble #idk findinh middle ground with what I wanted ?? but yeah... I'm someday finish rewriting it THIS IS NOT my best exposure of my wolcred work #u guys I'm gonna be honest.... but it's mostly bc i love writinh them being sooo independent so it makes sense when i play and i forget #they are important to my cannon for her lol xiv is just so love coded. all the kinds of love. and i love them all so much its A LOT BUT YEAH #ill stop rambling now LMFAO sorry for this anna but yeah this is my excuse to why thesa will never have 100% short hair #I'll always pick the short + braids hair which is why: 1. im happy the pvp hair is available for viera now and 2. im SO HAPPY with the new #7.0 hairs... there's one there that OOOOH BOY... I WANT THAT. if it fits her it's giving dawntrail :) if it doesn't welp pvp hair it is #but again YEAH THATS IT SORRY FOR TAKING EXTRA LONG I was going through like 3 sketchbooks back to search for this sketch comic lmao #and also... writing this whole essay why can i never be concise man... finally tried those two quest challenge things on jarilo iv in sr. oh i see, just more forgotten hall format. my *favorite*.

#me: i really hate sim u and forgotten hall #hoyo: oh look let's make all endgame content versions of sim u and forgotten hall #DO I LOOK LIKE I HAVE ALL YOUR STUPID OP CHARACTERS HOYO #fucking shit boy they do make you regret being f2p or having tried to be for any length of time #buying one bp sure hasn't fixed how behind the curve i am for not having like blade and fx and gepard and seele and sw #i can't make the op blade buffing team or the op quantum team #so yeah i get through shit AND WITHOUT DYING now but ofc never get the under x rounds reward #god i hate that anyway it's such pressure and i just feel stressed while trying to complete the challenge(s) #please ignore my sr bs #just one more quest challenge to finish this one back on xzl but i think i'll wait a bit bc bleah #give me more museum and merchants alleys event and less TONS OF COMBAT BUT COMPLETE IT STUPID FAST HIGH PRESSURE bs #maybe someday i'll actually have enough 5* or some of the good op ones that this stuff will seem ez and fun too but today is not that day
