15 Hidden Identity Romance Novels
An underrated trope, hidden identity romance books add tension and conflict to stories. The reader is often in on the secret, or they know that there’s something yet to be revealed, so they anticipate the moment when the other shoe drops. That adds to the bingeable quality of these romances, and makes them more dynamic, interesting reads. Sometimes the secret is a big deal, sometimes a lie of…

Cruel North (The North Brothers Book 4) Second Chance Romance by JB Salsbury
He let her go once. This time he wants to keep her.
Cruel North is an angsty second-chance, enemies to lovers romance where the most hated man in the North Brothers world finally gets brought to his knees.
A teenage girl with my eyes and a familiar glare, strolls into my life and she’s calling me Dad.
Vanessa was my high school girlfriend and the smartest person I knew. She had a plan, a future, and she swore nothing would get in the way. Until she became pregnant. I thought we agreed on our plan. I sent her the money. Then she disappeared.
Her parents told me she was in South America for a year. They told me she needed space. I never heard from her again.

Rebel North By J.B. Salsbury Book Review
Date Read: November 29th, 2021
Tumblr media
Stars: 5/5 Angst: 5/5 Romance: 5/5 Darkness: 4/5 Mystery/Intrigue: 5/5 Uniqueness of Story: 5/5 Humor: 5/5
From Wild North’s description and personality of Kingston, I wasn’t sure if I’d like Rebel North. But from briefly skimming reviews and seeing a lot of them were positive, I thought I’d give it a shot.
Woooow, this book was incredible. I didn’t think it could rival Wild North, but it was wonderful in every way. The North brothers are a unique group of men, and in some cases, you have to suspend your disbelief. Some of them have enormous egos (including Kingston), but the author makes it humorous, so I wasn’t as offended. I’m dying to see what happens with Hayes and his twin in a future North novel.
Kingston is not your typical hero, and the complexity of his character was fun to unravel. He loves fashion and interior design, and the author did such a fantastic job of highlighting that in the book! For a while, he was really lost regarding his purpose in life, and I was excited as things began to change for him.
Regarding the romance, after he meets Gabriella, he’s over heels in love, but she has yet to feel the same way because she thinks he’s gay. She tries to fight their attraction, thinking it’s all in their head, and then BAM! Once she figures out he isn’t gay, it’s like their chemistry explodes.
Kingston seriously is such a hopeless romantic. I love that he was basically putty in Gabriella’s hands because he was so smitten with her.
I am literally at a loss for words. And I’m never at a loss for words, especially around women. Gabriella is flipping the script and changing all my games. I can’t even think straight.
“Do you want to go home?” She blinks up at me, those big, blue eyes trying to look beyond what the world sees. To look into my soul. “No.”
With everything I have, all the things I’ve been given, all the success I’ve worked for, she’s the only one I’ve ever needed. She’s my beating heart, my muse, the missing part of me. I’ll never be whole again without her.
Besides their chemistry, Kingston and Gabriella seriously have the best banter and conversations throughout the book. I mean, it really doesn’t get any better than that for a book couple. I found myself laughing out loud a lot. J.B. Salsbury really outdid herself with this book!
Gabriella is now definitely one of my favorite book heroines. She’s witty, charming, and really has a perfect personality. Considering what she went through, I’m glad she chose to use her quick wit to her advantage in response to nosey and unkind people.
She also had the best response to the North brothers and their awful father, August. She was fearless, and whenever she was around them, she said what she was thinking, and I loved that. I wish I could be that outgoing and bold in life like her.
Kingston really gives Gabriella room to grow after she comes to peace with what happened to her. I liked how strong-willed she was and how she didn’t back down from what she wanted, both personally and professionally.
There’s a HUGE twist at the end that I did not see coming, and I am usually pretty good about figuring things out. It shook me to my core, and I couldn’t stop devouring the pages after that!!! I loved how everything came together at the end. It was pure perfection.
I’d love to reread this book because I think I could better pick up on the foreshadowing of what the big reveal was at the end of the book.

MsJessReads: Rebel North - JB Salsbury
MsJessReads: Rebel North – JB Salsbury
This book was nothing like what I was expecting. As a new reader to JB Salsbury – I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect, and while judging a book by its cover (pun intended) is not USUALLY my thing, this book honestly surprised me. But in a good way… Rebel North is set around the North family dynamics and is the second book in the North brothers series but can be read as a standalone. This book…

He tells me he’s dangerous. That I’m not safe around him. I would eventually understand why he warned me away. But by then it’s too late. My heart is his.
