Movies watched in 2023
Decision To Leave (2022, South Korea)
Director: Park Chan Wook
Writers: Chung Seo Kyung & Park Chan Wook
Mini-review:
Park Chan Wook is probably my favorite director, so you can imagine how excited I was about Decision To Leave, with it being his first movie in 6 years. And, of course, he doesn't disappoint. Sure, it's definitely not at the level of his best movies, but it's still a great film in pretty much every way. It may take its time when setting up the story and the characters, but it's never boring because the acting, the directing and the writing are masterful. Tang Wei and Park Hae Il give spectacular performances, and it's obvious that Park Chan Wook had a lot of fun making this movie. I admit the storyline was much more simple and straightforward than I expected, but maybe that's what allowed the director to experiment and play around with the cinematography, the editing and the structure of the scenes. All this results in a visually fascinating movie.
I seriously hope it doesn't take 6 more years for Park Chan Wook to release another movie.

Makeup, Make Out || @polarisjisung💕✅
↳ somewhere between testing eyeshadow palettes and mascara wands, renjun tests the prospect of loving you (i love me some soft renjun. soft renjun is prob in my top 5 fics to read about in nct. like how can you not enjoy reading soft renjun fics?????)
Ready For Love || @jnnul💕✅💯💯💯
↳ a boy who has never taken a relationship seriously. a girl who is seriously over relationships. when they end up finding each other, will they let their ideas of what a relationship should be like ruin their relationship before it even starts? (the concept of one person believing in one thing and the other person believing in another but they come to one accord to overcome the obstacle is amazing. literally as op has said in their warnings "match made in heaven", they truly are and i love that.)
Tumblr media
Misses Suh? || @nctsplug02🔞💕✅💯
↳ (there was not exact summary, but if you remember the jeongs fics from this author then i present you the suhs. stop i freaking love these fics from them. i hope theres going to be more suhs.)
Silent Treatment || @polarisjisung💕💔✅
↳ your boyfriend broke some guy's nose for you, but what he doesn't realise is he also broke his promise to you (how does one give jeno the silent treatment???? easy, pretend to be oc cause thats what i did. LOL LIKE HOW CAN YOU GIVE THIS MAN THE SILENT TREATMENT. mans gonna be looking at you with them eyes and you are just gonna fold. gosh hes adorable and sht)
Tumblr media
Trauma || @peanutpinet💕💔✅💯
↳ Being the son of the famous Nam Goongmin came with a heavy price to pay for Jaemin. Though Taeyong managed to get Jaemin out of his father’s mafia business and helped him to heal, there was still some trauma that Jaemin had yet to face. Until he came across a girl that he would soon learn that he can’t always run from his problems (the fact that the story lowkey connects with the other fics that they have is a gold mine. my ass is out here re-reading everything from the beginning aka the first one all the way to this one while i wait for the next one.)
Tumblr media
Enough For You || @midmourn💔✅💯
↳ you wanted to be enough for mark, but no matter what you did, you weren't. (brb let me just sit in the corner real quick. stop, i need more angst nct fics to satisfy my angst side. like you can just feel the hurt that the oc is feeling, cause i know for a fact everyone has been through this once in their life time.)
I'm A Mouse, Duh! || @springseasonie🔞✅
↳ Nomin in police costumes and Y/N in a "mouse" costume (it's literally just lingerie). Will they fuck? Keep reading to find out! (1. i love the mean girls reference. that movie is a classic. 2. another roommate threesome, i may have a problem. BUT THATS FINE. this fic was hella good.)
I Wanna Make You Scream || @nctsplug02🔞✅💯💯💯
↳ (johnny in a scream mask?????????? sir???????? HELLOOOOOOOOO????? like god this fic is, oh child.)
Rent Is Due! || @starillusion13🔞✅💯
↳ (theres no summary, but do you know what else is due??? my insanity after reading this fic. like god dam. had to take a moment to breathe after finishing the fic.)
Strawberry Cough || @hazyhae🔞💕✅
↳ when your longtime bestie and plug moves out of town, he recommends one of his buddies to fill your weed needs. jaemin is glad to deliver that, and maybe even more. (the fact that jaemin automatically has a stock of the strawberry flavor for the oc is cute as sht. mans literally fell in love at first sight.)
The Day That I Met You I Started Dreaming || @nctstar💕✅💯
↳ You watched in satisfaction as the imprint of your lips stained a faded red colour, two semi-circles adorned by fine lines. The smell of strawberry wafted gently, so subtle you could have missed it. Yet, his voice rang in your ears. “You taste so sweet, baby. You always do.” (stop, i think this was one of the "long" jungwoo fics that i have read so far. i should start reading more jungwoo fics ngl. i honestly like how the story went. like it was at a good pace. not too rushed and not too slow, at the perfect pace. )
They're Roommate || @luvyeni🔞✅
↳ maybe those “jokes” your roommates play on you aren’t actually jokes (nomin threesome??? let me at it. lord have fcking mercy on me)
Young God || @jaeminvore🔞💕✅💯💯
↳ in which you were essentially scammed into cohabiting with a ridiculously clingy demon that lives off of sex. It could be worse. At least he staved off from sucking your soul out in exchange of you sucking something else—among other things (demon hyuck is a menace but hes a cute menace you know. hes gonna be like your bffl demon. i honestly fully enjoyed this one so much, like you dont understand. the mans a cute ass menace)

NCT Dream Texts || @jenosz💕✅💯
↳ Jeno boyfriend texts (the way that i fcking cackled at the first one. i cant, that was literal GOLD. ngl thats prob something i would say to my boo, if i had one LMAO)
NCT Dream Texts || @midmourn💕✅

Immortal Being that Still Somehow has Parent Issues: Myul Mang/Doom (Doom at your Service) Lee Yeon & Lee Rang (Tale of the Nine Tailed) Jeong Gu-won (My Demon)
Added trauma flavour: Parent was murdered in front of them (**Still counts if they survived the murder Parent tried to murder them Dying from seemingly incurable disease which makes their parents/guardian sad (If your parents are alive, you must pay for it by dying yourself) Adoptive parent/stepparent is THE WORST
Somehow has normal parents: Lee Jun-ho (Extraordinary Attorney Woo, Has no backstory at all. We only meet his older sister and hear nothing about his childhood.) Shin Ha-ri (Business Proposal, her family is refreshingly normal, right down to her brother being sent out to find her when she's drunk) Oh Han-byeol (Sh**ting Stars, Again, we know almost nothing about her family, only that she has twin sisters. But she doesn't appear to have childhood trauma.) Park Yeon-woo (The Story of Park's Marriage Contract, her mom being annoyed at her for something that is a crime doesn't count as bad parenting) Lee Young-joon/Sung-hyun (What's Wrong with Secretary Kim, his trauma comes from a kidnapper, his parents faced a pretty impossible situation and did their best. They clearly love their kids)
*Counting her as an orphan even though she gets her parents back after 20 years, she spent her childhood orphaned.
***This character is tricky because I understand why her mother wanted nothing to do with her, but her trying to manipulate the dad and also saying he didn't raise her properly made me so angry.

Boys Planet Episode 3-4 Recaps: Love Me Right
Tumblr media
If you’re following the MNET show Boys Planet, you probably know by now that the editors are extremely irritating. For a song “mission” like this, they show 2-3 minute montages of some of the teams practicing, then fast forward to show time passing, then make it look like the performance will start any moment, and then have a lengthy flashback before we finally get to see the performance.
So, I made a main recap that takes you through episodes 3 and 4 in a linear way, but then when it comes to focusing on each team, I’ll put all those thoughts in a separate post so you can keep the storylines straight. This post covers the Love Me Right teams’ rehearsal and performance.
The Teams
K team:
Leader: Lee Hoe Taek (Hui),
Other members: Han Seo Bin, Kim Gyu Vin,  Lee Jeong Hyeon, Lee Ye Dam, Oh Sung Min, Sung Han Bin
Most of these members you’ll recognize from the show already, but here’s a reminder:
Lee Hoe Taek is Hui. If you’re wondering, he’s 29 and has been ranked #6 in both episodes 2 and 3.
Han Seo Bin is 16, auditioned with Freak, fell from 4 stars to 3, and was ranked 70th and then 66th.
Kim Gyu Vin is 18, auditioned with Kick It, fell from 4 stars to 3, and was ranked 5th and then 4th.
Lee Jeong Hyeon is 20, auditioned with The Real, was 3 stars the whole time, and was ranked 35th and then 43rd.
Lee Ye Dam is 20, auditioned with Gambler, was 4 stars the whole time, and was ranked 45th and then 47th, which is a fucking crime because boy is pure talent.
Oh Sung Min is 21, auditioned with Bloom Bloom, rose from 2 stars to 3, was ranked 17th and then 24th. He’s a member of NINE.i and that might explain his high rank.
Sung Han Bin, the nation’s sweetheart, is 21 and has been ranked #1 this whole time.
G team:
Leader: Wumuti
Other members:
Dang Hong Hai, Anthonny, Haru, Haruto, Jay, Winnie
Wumuti is 23 and auditioned with UN Village. He was ranked 49 and then 51, and rose from 2 stars to 3. He’s Chinese
Dang Hong Hai is 19 and auditioned with View. He was ranked 25 and then 29, and rose from 2 stars to 3. He’s Thai.
Anthonny is 19 and auditioned (with Haruto) to Glitch Mode. He was ranked 8th and then 11th, and was 3 stars he whole time. He’s Japanese.
Haruto is 18 and auditioned with (with Anthonny) to Glitch Mode. He was ranked 39th and then 20th, and was 4 stars the whole time. He’s Japanese.
Haru is 17 and auditioned with Maniac. He was ranked 53rd and then 64th, and was 2 stars the whole time. He’s Japanese.
Jay is 21 and auditioned with Rush Hour. He was ranked 30th and then 8th, and has been 4 stars the whole time. He’s from the USA.
Winnie is 24 and auditioned with Kokobop. He was ranked 77th and then 73rd, and has been 1 star the whole time. He’s Thai, and is a member of NINE.i with other trainees on the show.
Team Selection:
Both of these were the first teams selected. Hui selected for K team, and Dang Hong Hai picked for G team.
I think Dang Hong Hai made a few weird choices -- why not grab Na Kamden, or anyone who Keita picked (especially Matthew, Keita himself, or Zhang Hao)? It feels like he picked people he liked as people or knew well, as opposed to the best trainees.
Episode 3, 1:24:59
Part Selection
As we begin, we learn that Haruto is considered the strongest rapper in G-section, and that apparently on the first day, Haruto and Lee Jeong Hyeon got into a rap battle over the #1 chair, and Jeong Hyeon won. From the clip we see, Haruto did really well actually, but they both did.
Naturally, they all want to go for the Killing Part, except Sung Hanbin who says, “Honestly I want to do it, but I did the killing part for the Signal Song.” He interviews that others might do better, and also, they deserve the chance to shine. Either he really is just that sweet, or he knows the real battle is for the world’s hearts, which he’s winning.
Mop-headed Kim Gyuvin, who I’m quite fond of, tries for the killing part first, and then the talented Lee Yedam tries -- and at 1:26:45 sings the song in its original key, suggesting that he has a very strong sense of pitch. (Seriously, go to about 45 seconds in to the video and listen to it back to back with Yedam -- he’s perfectly on key without any accompaniment.) Damn this boy can sing and dance, I can’t with him. He gets the killing part, and rightfully so.
Meanwhile, we see that Jay has been chosen for the Killing Part over on team G, and Wumuti gets chosen for main vocal.
Of course, K-team choose Hui to be their main vocal -- what kind of lunatics would NOT give it to one of the best vocalists in K-pop -- and that puts extra pressure on Wumuti. He talks about it with his team, and with Jay, and they agree that maybe Jay should be main vocal and Wumuti should take the Killing Part.
Tumblr media
“Is it really ok?” … “Yes, really.”
Jay says the most important thing is that the team succeeds, and while he doesn’t say this, it’s obvious that Main Vocal will get him plenty of attention too. If he loses to Hui, it’s no big deal, but if he somehow beats Hui, or even comes in a close second, that would be a huge win.
Once Jay starts singing, Hui listens with happy interest -- Jay’s “pop” vibe (not a K-pop vibe, a pop vibe) inspires Hui to find his own vibe. I feel like that is how Hui goes through life. Like a car will honk its horn or a cat will meow at him and he’ll be like, “yeah, I like that sound…. How can I make that into a song??”
And now, we skip ahead to 2:27:55. The teams are backstage, getting a last minute pep talk from their leaders. Hui says, “Are you ready to have fun?” and they all say “yeah!”  Wamuti lays the pressure on, saying, “All our weeks of practice come down to this moment.” Pretty heavy, dude. But he adds, “Let’s have fun regardless,” and I mean, yeah.
We see them coming up through their respective stupid tunnels:
Tumblr media
… like they’re gladiators or something. This is silly.
And here they all are:
Tumblr media
Looks like Seung Hanbin is the center now, because he’s wearing such a different outfit from the others…. Hmm.
Backstage, both G-team and K-team say that they think their team will win.
They each get to introduce themselves with their made up team names and stuff.
When it’s G-group’s turn, they give greetings in six different languages -- Anthonny says “good evening” in Tagalog, which is interesting!
Time to go to a flashback.
They’re in vocal rehearsal, and they have a special Rap Master sitting in to help these trainees prepare for an EXO song. Look, you guys know that I love EXO. They’re my ults. I adore them. They’re not really rappers. Like, I’m not so far gone as to think that Chanyeol is a great rapper. Bring the special rap master to the BTS song, or even the Blackpink song, but not here…?
Anyway. I admit I have no idea who Lil Boi is, and I don’t have the energy to find out.
G-group sings first, and obviously Jay is fantastic, and Haruto’s rapping is good -- I’m so glad, because I do like Haruto and don’t want him to embarrass himself with bad singing. Overall, their vocals sound good.
K-team goes second, and they also mostly sound good, but could just be cleaned up a bit. But the judges come down really hard on Lee Yedam and Hui. They say that K-team needs more teamwork, and think that Hui’s ad lib didn’t sound good, but I liked it. I really think this is some gaslighting shit.
Then they let the rappers go, Lee Jung Hyun and Haruto, and again, the judges prefer Haruto. I mean, they both sounded fine to me, but I’m not a Rap Master so what do I know.
Then they hear from the main vocals and give a useful note -- that Hui’s choice to do a different adlib from the original might throw people off. The Onestar tells Jay he might be a better vocalist than himself. All I know is that none of them is better than D.O. and that’s where my opinion ends. Jay has a lovely vocal color but isn’t nearly as well trained as Hui and I hear pitchiness that I don’t usually hear with Hui. It’s fine if people prefer Jay’s vocal color, which is great, and Jay is obviously trained too, and I think he’s also great. I just don’t know if I’d go so far as to paint him as like, the world’s best vocalist.
Anyway it’s time for the performance.
Tumblr media
Overall, really good but not excellent.
I think they were all overdancing a little and it looked a tiny bit weird. Jay sounded perfect -- well, I think I heard a weird ad lib toward the end but that might not have been him --  but Wumuti and Anthonny were a little shaky in their vocals, and I thought they were all being too CYOOT. The hearts on the hands -- which got all smudgy with sweat and kind of didn’t work for me --  the overdramatic community theater faces, I don’t know, it didn’t fit the song for me.
See, Love Me Right is about confidence. It’s like, “You and me, baby, we’re going to fly up into the stars together, and we’re totally going to do it, and it’s going to be great, and you’re going to love it, and we’re going to like, orbit the moon with just the force of our love, so get over here and let’s go.” It’s not at all “I think you’re pretty, please tell me you like me as much as I like you!!” But that was the vibe they were giving.
Am I just being harsh because I love this song, and if Kai isn’t in the front being Kai at me I can’t love it? Maybe? I don’t know.
They were really good, you guys. But this wasn’t like with Keita’s team on Kill This Love where I watched it and thought, let me watch this again. This was like, “Oh, that was good -- good job, boys!” And then I was cool.
The MNET editing is kind, and we see a reaction shot from Hui almost every time that Jay opens his mouth, reminding us that Jay is really good. Jay is really good. I hope he debuts. I love good vocalists! I will also admit that something about Jay rubs me the wrong way and I don’t know why. I cannot explain it at all. I get this vibe like he’s really fake -- like he knows the personality that the people at home want to see, and he’s doing that. But I might be wrong about that, and anyway, personality doesn’t matter as much to me as talent does when it comes to whose singing I want to listen to. I don’t think I’d want to hang out with Chen from EXO, tbh -- he seems kind of serious and dour? -- but godDAMN do I love listening to that man SING. FUCK. I’m so lucky to live in a world with EXO in it. Sigh.
Of course, the reaction backstage from the trainees is over the top. Every G-group trainee was  proud to count Jay on their team. The judges say that they all did well, which is like, I don’t know, I think some of the vocals were a little weak, but I don’t know, it’s an EXO song and my ear is used to perfection.
The show teases us that after that, the K-team will perform, but of course they won’t. We’ll have to wait until episode 4!
At 1:40:45 of Episode 4, we finally get back to Love Me Right.
We’re in vocal rehearsal, and the judges are coming down hard on Lee Yedam for not having quite enough “punch” to his vocals, or enough stage presence, or something.
After the big group evaluation, the forms from the other trainees indicate that Lee Yedam needs improvement, which surprises the other team members. He didn’t really mess up at all, but there was just something kind of missing from the performance for no real reason.
So Lee Yedam suggests that someone might do a better job with the killing part than he does, and they talk about it. Hui says he picked the members with this song in mind, and kind of pictured Seung Hanbin in the Killing Part. They decide to give the killing part to nation’s sweetheart Seung Hanbin, and I feel bad for Yedam but it probably is good for the team. There don’t seem to be any hard feelings for anyone.
Seung Hanbin also leads dance practice and does a really good job, explaining clearly, even little things like whether to spread fingers or keep them together. He interviews that he also likes to check in with his teammates and talk to them about how they’re doing. It’s like, he’s the real leader.”
Here he is, creating an accidental renaissance painting with mop-headed charmer Kim Gyu Vin.
Tumblr media
Is anyone going to clean those windows, MNET?
Gyuvin worries that he can’t quite get the choreo down, even though he’s trying his best. Gyuvin is so grateful for Hanbin’s kindness that he wants to live with him to repay him.
Hanbin interviews, “Originally, my dream was to become a counselor and elementary school teacher. I think I’m able to live out that dream here.” And women across the world pass out in delight.
Tumblr media
At dress rehearsal, Hui does an extra high ad lib, and it doesn’t sound great. The vocal teachers advise him to pull back a bit. Will he?
The performance:
It’s fucking perfect. I have nothing to say. I love this song and their performance is great. All of the vocals, all of the rapping, all the dancing, it’s all perfect. Seung Hanbin is perfect, Lee Yedam sings sweetly, they’re all perfect, Hui does amazingly, he throws his microphone around, it’s all great. I’d strongly recommend that you just watch the Youtube version because the MNET edit is intolerable.
The only thing of note is that Hui does not in fact do that one extra high ad lib but he ads another ridiculously high ad lib later on. My theory is that this other ad lib would have been new to the audience, so if he didn’t hit the notes he meant to hit, no one would know that it was a mistake.
This was the first time since Hui joined the show that I thought that going on it actually showed off his abilities.
I know I already said this but the MNET editing is INTOLERABLE. I can’t bear it. Now is as good at time as any to mention that this was fucking hilarious -- someone edited the real EXO performance of Love Me Right as if it were on Boys Planet and it was delightful.
The judges love the performance, and the other trainees basically can’t believe it.
Tumblr media
I feel like Wumuti's face says it all.
The Results
The votes are in.
Main Vocal
K: Hui 161
G: Jay 66
Sub Vocal 1
K: Lee Yedam 13
G: Anthonny 32
Sub Vocal 2
K: *Sung Han Bin* 138

Subvocal 3
K: Oh Sung Min 82
G: Wumuti 32
Main Rapper
K: Han Seobin 17
G: Winnie 12
Sub Vocal 4
K: Kim Gyuvin 100
G: Haru 10
Sub Rapper K:  Lee Jeong Hyeon 46
G: Haruto 25
K team wins, 557 to 206.
I’m bummed at Lee Yedam’s low votes -- he’s unlikely to ever be many people’s “one pick” but boy do I want that guy to debut. I hope he will.
On the G side, of course I feel bad for all of them. I’m too tender hearted to watch a show like this, I swear. Wumuti is obviously struggling to hold back tears, and others are full on crying. All these poor guys on the G-team who get ignored half the time.... I hope they all find a safe place to land.
The K group celebrates, and the G group consoles. They all loved their teams and are proud of each other.
And that’s the end of this review!

ZODIAC: PISCES
TROPES: SINGER-SONGWRITER ; OVERBEARING MOTHER; HIGH EXPECTATIONS
CHARACTER PLAYLIST
► PAST
CHILDHOOD: Seo-ah’s grandfather shaped a large chunk of her childhood. When she was five, he taught her how to play the piano. This was the starting point for her love of music. She enjoyed the way playing made her feel. Throughout primary school, she took piano lessons and perfected the art of playing. Her grandfather was a large part of her life during this time. It was easily acknowledged Seo-ah was his favorite. She would spend time with him after school and even large chunks of her weekends. It’s also during this time, she began writing songs and singing…to the displeasure of her mother. Seo-ah knew from a young age, she wanted to be a singer. Nothing else called to her. This is where the friction between her and her mother began. Oftentimes, her grandfather became the mediator. This friction became a bonding point for them. She adored her grandfather and considered him to be a third parent. Outside of this, her childhood was perfect. She and her brother both went to private academy’s. They grew up in the city and were loved by their parents.
ADOLESCENCE: During her adolescent years, she wanted to study music and begged her parents to send her to a performing arts academy. In which her mother promptly denied this request. It wasn’t long after that her grandfather sent her instead. This was one of the most memorable times in her life. Around the age of sixteen, she met Paek Suho and fell in love with him. However, her parents forbid them from being together due to his social class. This elicited a lot of difficulties for the couple and lyrical genius for Seo-ah. When she turned seventeen, she was signed to KCK Entertainment as an idol trainee. This was a grueling time and made her question whether she wanted to embark on this journey. She was often separated from her friends, boyfriend and family. But due to her ambitious nature, she worked through it. After all, this was her dream. Things became difficult when Suho went away to college and the pair started a long distance relationship behind her mother’s back. It wasn’t long after they split due to miscommunication. Realizing that maybe her mother had been right, Seo-ah focused on being a trainee and her music. Three months later, she was paired with two other girls and KCK Entertainment formed Sistar’s.
ADULTHOOD: After the formation of Sistar’s, Seo-ah worked hard and the group found instant success. They debuted at number #1 with their first album. They worked tirelessly during their early 20’s to get their name and music out to the public. This skyrocketed them to stardom. After their fourth album, turmoil reached the group and they decided to disband. They each went on to have a solo career. It was during this time that Seo-ah began working on her first solo album. She was twenty-six. When her album dropped, it was critically acclaimed and she garnered many more fans. This was the year she won her first KMA for ‘Rookie of the Year’. Though there was immense success in her life at this point, her health had started to decline. She would be severely dehydrated, exhausted and overworked. There was also the huge problem of her mother being dissatisfied about Seo-ah’s life decisions. Her mother had wanted her to become a doctor like herself or an attorney like her father. Consequently, this was not what Seo-ah wanted for her own life. This need for control continued to drive the two women apart. Seo-ah would continue to record two more albums and win other accolades. During this time she became one of the most popular idols in South Korea. When she turned twenty-eight, she met Bai Si-Woo. He was a successful businessman and a fourth generation chaebol. It wasn't love at first sight, however, Seo-ah (after being single for many years) grew to adore him. The couple would later fall in love. A year into their relationship, her grandfather grew ill. Six months later he died from cancer. Seo-ah was devastated and grew depressed. Seo-ah and Si-Woo broke up four months later due to differing future aspirations. Seo-ah turned her grief into art and began recording her fourth and her most beloved album. She channeled the heartbreak from her past and the grief from her grandfather’s death into this album. She would end up winning ‘Album of the Year’ and reaching an international audience.

RECORD OF YOUTH //  KDRAMA DİZİ YORUMU
UYARI : Yazılar genel olarak spoiler içerebilir. İçermeyedebilir.
İmdb puanı : 7,2 Benim puanım: 7
Drama: Record of Youth (English title) / The Moment (early English title) / Youth Record (literal title)
Hangul:
Director: Ahn Gil-Ho
Writer: Ha Myung-Hee
Episodes: 16
Date: 2020
Language: Korean
Country: South Korea
Cast: Park Bo-Gum, Park So-Dam, Byeon Woo-Seok, Kwon Soo-Hyun, Jo Yoo-Jung, Shin Dong-Mi, Seo Hyun-Jin, Park Seo-Joon, Lee Sung-Kyung
Park Bo-Gum’un askere gitmeden önce çektiği son dizi Record of Youth tam anlamı ile kaybedenlerin hikayesi olmuş.
Defile sırasında Hye-Jun’a makyöz olarak An Jeong-Ha (Park So-Dam) denk gelir.
Park Bo-Gum’u “Love in the Moonlight” dizisi ile tanıyorum.
Park So-Dam ise “Cinderella and the four knights” dizisinin Cinderellası olarak hayatıma girmişti.

             WELCOME JEONG SOOYUN
                                                         TO THE PROMISE LAND
DETAILS
age / age they appear: 716 / 26 occupation: haenyeo diver group: none
PERSONALITY
She was meek in her young age, playing among the rivers and other Imugi she came across. Some would say she was carefree until her own kind began to be hunted. Sooyun turned observant, quiet and careful of who she talked to, even when venturing into the human world. Much of her time was spent as a serpent where she slowly learned the language of the humans around her. As she got older, Sooyun’s perception of the world began to change her, while still cautious she allowed a kind nature to those she encountered, a smile that sparkled like the waves she created. Other Imugi would occasionally come by to trade and admire how she watched over her rivers, protecting them from humans and other creatures alike.
Coming to Jeju Island, she has kept most of her soft demeanor and quiet nature but mostly stays secluded, away from everyone else. She is easy to make conversation with but her guard is always up, ready to defend herself if need be. Locals know her as a sweet young woman who helps out when she can when she is not diving with the other women. The last century on this island has toughened her skin and the pierce of her gaze when things begin to turn south. She has learned to protect herself and will do anything to keep herself and the few she holds close safe.
HISTORY
Sooyun didn't have a name for the first couple centuries of her life, all she remembers is the flow of water across her skin. Following her small river that flowed into what is now called the Geum River. It was all she knew as she swam her little river up and down the currents. She loved when new streams and creeks would form after heavy rainfall since it meant she could explore more of the land. It was her duty to protect the rivers and lands that passed through for all creatures to survive on. Once in a while there would be humans that splashed about but it didn’t become so common until centuries later as they built their kingdoms and roamed the lands. Sooyun was still able to travel as she pleased but it meant to be more in secrecy with her human form, casually walking through villages, observing their nature. Her rivers soon began to change, first it was blood, then dirt, as if the human didn’t care about the water she lived in. Then there were rumors of beings other than humans hunting her kind of horns and scales. Luckily she was still young and did not appeal to the hunt but the centuries have shown her of the lives her kind has lost. So she stayed hidden, hardly venturing out and collecting anything that seemed worthy floating down her currents. But as more centuries went by, her streams and creeks began to dry out, her own river grew smaller every year. Then a war broke out. More humans came to her lands, started building and “damming” up rivers for human use.
It was like in a blink of an eye her rivers were all gone she was now free of her guidance and protection to the rivers. But that was all she knew and breathed her whole life. Sooyun was younger than most Imugi and as far as she knew, still hadn’t grown into her dragon form, though she was showing signs. Sure she mingled in human life and knew the basics but in reality she was lost and didn’t know what to do.
That’s when she heard about Jeju Island from a Gumiho she had crossed paths within the forest surrounding Busan, a place for someone like them. They called it a safe haven for those running or looking for a new home, and it was surrounded by water. Sooyun was scared to go but the Gumiho gave her some courage, and even the name that she carries with her, Jeong Sooyun. For almost 80 years, Sooyun has lived on the south side of Jeju Island in solitude, in most recent years, disguising herself as a relative of a local “haenyeo” or sea woman diver that wants to continue the family tradition.
It’s a shame she only got to enjoy the peacefulness of Jeju for a short time before it was evident the situation on the island was not as it seemed. Though she kept to the south side of the island, alone in her little home, there were talks of clans beginning to clash among the other supernatural creatures, internal and external, human hunters becoming aware of their presence. It was bad enough that it seemed her kind was already a rare sighting, and on occasion still hunted, but now she had to protect herself not just from the other creatures but humans as well. She has seen enough war to know what it brings but Sooyun has learned over the centuries to stay out of wandering eyes and to be ready for anything.
