Kylian Mbappe : “You’re not alone. We are with you & we support you Vini.”
Bukayo Saka : “We are with you brother ✊🏿”
Jules Kounde : “Discriminatory insults should not be tolerated or justified. To say that a player's behavior can provoke racist reactions is to shift the debate. We must focus on solutions because the problem is unfortunately recurrent and tarnishes the image of this League. This is certainly the fact of a minority but that does not make it more acceptable. Are these people deeply racist or do they act only in order to destabilize? Hard to say. But one thing is certain, words matter and actions have consequences. These behaviors are punishable by law. Stadium banning would be all too easy. What sanctions exist beyond football? Are they actually applied? Are they sufficient? Can we imagine more educational and general interest measures? Ignorance is the worst evil, but it can be cured. I remain convinced that everyone is able to reflect on their past behavior, to take stock of the harm it has caused and to change for the better. All my support Vini.”
Kalidou Koulibaly : “No to racism!”
Jérôme Boateng : “NO TO RACISM! Stay strong Vini 🖤✊🏿 !”
Leroy Sane : “We’re in this together. Stary strong Vini ✊🏿”
Jadon Sancho : “We are all behind you brother!❤️“
Raheem Sterling : “Time and time again. Enough is enough. We all stand with you brother ❤️”
Lewis Hamilton : “Standing with you Vini ❤️”

Chelsea v Aston Villa
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I feel deflated again.
Still trying to figure out where the team's progress went, heavily considering that the international break messed up the momentum, but we can only move forward. Chelsea had so much promise the entire match, with ball possession at 69% over Aston Villa, yet they could not compete.
Let's break it down.
The missed goal by Mudryk was enough for me to believe that this match would not work in our favor. As I have said before, I have complete confidence that Mudryk sets a strong tone for the way Chelsea plays and has a great possibility of becoming a phenomenal player, but shots so vital to the team and at the tip of your fingers need to be made. There is no blame on Mudryk because this is a team sport, and everyone had various mistakes throughout the match, but that moment stung in all Chelsea fan hearts'. He carries so much potential, and I am hopeful he will shine at Chelsea soon.
A very similar thing could be said for Cucurella, what happened there. These small moments where passes or shots or blocks slip through players' fingers are where Chelsea needs to build up. Tweaks in technique.
Joao Felix and Ben Chilwell were not seeing things in their favor today. Both players suffered quite a bit all match, arguing with calls made and trying to push Chelsea slightly further. Their passion for every match is something I consistently look forward to seeing. However, no matter how hard they tried, it did not seem enough today; losing Chilwell's goal felt like a slap in the face. I believe these are two players which Chelsea truly needs to lock in on as the summer transfer window looms (including Mason Mount, but that is a topic for another day)
Silencing all the claims about being overpaid, Enzo Hernandez continues to shine. There was little wrong with how he played today. Enzo opens up opportunities for our attackers, so if there are no openings, he is left with no options, but when there are openings, he takes advantage of them. He does his job every match, win or lose. He has provided Chelsea with one thing: a chance.
Everyone else played decently; there was lots of hustle from Kovacic and Koulibaly, the ladder, who had some nice blocks. Also wonderful to see Kante back, a player who almost had a shot after being out since august. Ecstatic to see him as he warms up to playing again.
Not loads to say about the way Aston Villa played; they were a solid team. Emi Martinez being rated 8.8 is not a surprise to me, considering he has a handful of game-saving blocks; it is just the kind of keeper he is. Overall, they played with precision and focused on pushing their attackers hard when the chance arose. They did not appear to be discouraged by Chelsea handling the ball more, instead taking those little moments of advantage and scoring 2 goals.
Chelsea has some serious work to do, no one is expecting a top 2 team right now, but we also need to stay in the top half. The blue's always hold a special place in my heart, and I want to see a difference in their playing next match.
Let me know some of your takes down below!! (especially about a Mason Mount departure)
