Quietly Comforting - Nancy Birch/Isabella Fitzwilliam
A/N: Day 23 for @comfortember, tagging @selkiewife because it's the ladies, back again.
Tumblr media
Anxiety. Nancy could see the flash of it starting as Isabella excuses herself from the meeting, escorting people out before locking the doors to keep them all safe, she would never leave Isabella to struggle. Isabella is pacing by the time she enters the bedroom, crossing in easy strides to take Isabella’s hands as she leads her to the seat. She can feel the trembling in Isabella’s hands and her voice softens instantly as she steps closer, knowing Isabella won’t sit just yet. “Now, what’s going on? Hm?” “I just…. I feel all this… anxiety… what if…” “He can’t hurt you Isabella. I promise. We won’t let him.” Nancy’s voice softens even as she settles on the seat, drawing Isabella down into her lap, stroking tears that spill off Isabella’s cheek softly.
“You’ll be okay ‘Bella… I promise.” “How do you always know exactly what to say?” Nancy’s smile is soft. “I just know m’lady…. That’s all.”

Chapters: 47/? Fandom: Harlots (TV) Rating: Mature Warnings: Creator Chose Not To Use Archive Warnings Relationships: Isabella Fitzwilliam/Charlotte Wells Characters: Isabella Fitzwilliam, Charlotte Wells, Nancy Birch, William North (Harlots), Fanny Lambert, Lucy Wells Additional Tags: Forgiveness, Femslash, Historical, Not Canon Compliant, Love, Bathing/Washing, Napping, Tea, Love Letters, Fine Dining, carriage ride, Affection, making amends, Wine, mention of violence, Oral Sex, Fucking, Lesbian Sex, Cunnilingus, Emotions, Emotional Sex, Intoxication, Dissociation, Anger, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder - PTSD, Psychological Trauma Summary:
It's a typical morning at the Greek Street house of pleasure. Charlotte and Lucy are spatting, there are culls that need servicing, and Charlotte is in a very bad mood. She doesn't care for the life of a bawd, she has too much responsibility, and there is no fun in her life. She's very, very tired and wishes she could take a few days to herself. Nancy tries to talk to Charlotte to get her to face her feelings and her fears. She can't hide away from her feelings for Isabella for ever. Charlotte decides she is absolutely right and takes steps to resolve that 'thing' between her and Isabella that was vexing her days and tormenting her nights.
Context wise, Margaret Wells has been shipped off to America, Dame Death is in Beldam, Harcourt has been neutralized, but Charlotte and Isabella have not spoken yet. This story fits into the in-between time from S2 E8 and S3 E1. I find it hard to believe that Charlotte would just forgive Isabella so quickly and easily, however, since she does, it speaks volumes to the love that they shared.

Terese Addams. A lost soul who should never have been so close to a Lady, much less someone as refined as Isabella Fitzwilliam. Still, when she's presented to the woman, there's something so tender in Isabella's eyes that Terese smiles, curtseys sweetly and begins to hope that maybe, just maybe, her friend and technical Mistress is right. Suzanna had bought her from Lydia Quigley and set her free from hell, but can she help sooth the bright fear in Isabella's eyes? Can it really be that they can heal one another's hearts? She wants to try...

The Side You Cannot See - Nancy Birch/Isabella Fitzwilliam
A/N: Tagging @selkiewife because it's our girlies. Written for Day 9 of @comfortember.
Tumblr media
She’s alone for the first time in days when she finally bathes. The aftermath of her flogging still shows, of course, angry scarring is still raw even now. She knows, in time, she will seek Charlotte’s Lady…. She must, if only to be saved from further pains. She walks into a room in a mess. Isabella’s on her knees, her brother, abusive as ever, has clearly beaten her down and when he makes to reach for her again Nancy brings the flogger down hard on his arm, ignoring his yelling to gather Isabella and leave. Later she will go back for the woman’s things, for now she brings her home with her. The aftermath isn’t pretty. Isabella wakes her screaming, her body shuddering even as Nancy curls her close, resting a gentle hand in her hair. “Hush now, M’lady….. I’m here now.”

Missing Scenes in Jane Austen
There are some missing scenes I would love to read, I’ll start with Pride & Prejudice:
Darcy explaining to Colonel Fitzwilliam why he needs to tell the deep, dark family secret of Georgiana almost eloping to a random girl at the parsonage (I’ve done this one)
The walking conversation where Darcy is like, “So what would you think if the next time in Kent you stay at Rosings? HINT HINT HINT” and Elizabeth is like, “What is this dude talking about and why does he keep bumping into me in the garden?”
Lydia and Kitty chilling with the militia and planning cross-dressing level hijinks
Darcy extremely excitedly hurrying Georgiana to go change after her long journey so she can meet this girl he found wandering around his house.
Lady Catherine checking the shade pollution levels post marriage
Sense & Sensibility:
Edward telling Lucy he’s been disinherited and heavily hinting that it would be best for them all if she broke the engagement, while Lucy lies through her teeth about loving him so much
The duel between Colonel Brandon and Willoughby
Lucy "seducing" Robert while Robert is actually trying to steal her away from his brother.
Emma:
What Frank and Jane talked about when he pretended to fix the glasses and got everyone else out of the house. Also their fight on the Donwell Abbey day
Robert Martin’s proposal letter and second proposal. Just for the squees
Northanger Abbey:
The contents of Henry Tilney’s “secret” love letters to Catherine
Isabella Thorpe and James Morland’s break-up conversation
Persuasion:
The actual text of the first break up
Mansfield Park:
Edmund proposing to Fanny
The real conversation between Mary and Edmund, not just Edmund recollecting it
What really went down in London between Maria and Henry leading to the elopement
Reblog with more scenes you really wish JA would have written
