Movie Watch
Bumblebee
(six years after release, however long since the DVD came out, FINALLY watching this)
This is going to be strictly a collection of my immediate reactions to the film because DAMN I HAVE NOT ENJOYED A TF FILM LIKE THAT SINCE '07. With less squick-humor too!
Please don't harsh my squee. I really, really loved this one.
OMG. ALL THE RECOGNIZABLE CONS AND BOTS! Poor son had to deal with me naming them off Prime doing Jet Judo
John Cena is a mess
BABY! Bumblebee, you were never meant to fight a seeker one on one Nice moves though MY BABY! Oh my poor baby. BOOYAH! That's my BOY!
Oh trivia: Bell, Burns' (Cena's) friend on the exercise? Is Aldis Hodge's brother. (he was in "The Jailhouse Job" too)
Real dysfunctional family vibes there
Soundtrack is rocking.
CLIFFJUMPER! NO
Shatter is fascinating though.
I'm loving Gwen Stacy, I mean, Charlie Alright, at least I'm not calling her Kate Bishop
Mom and Ron are so 80s. In their parenting.
OH she stayed! She saw he was having trouble.
"Tell me things. Sometimes." YOU DON'T LISTEN MOM!
BUMBLEBEE, so scared!
OH! THE FACE TO THE HANDS
I think Charlie is awesome, BTW
oh dear. Arriving Decepticon now? Okay, that was a little gross, but Roy vaguely deserved it at least? And the woman survived.
Okay Bumblebee and dogs is just a recurring theme? Charlie explaining the need to stay hidden. BEE! Silly boy. Hiding his head in the sand
"Nonbiologicals" THEY ARE BIOLOGICALS, JUST A DIFFERENT BIOLOGY Oh GREAT. We're going to go with the deception part of Decepticon.
Optimus's message. OH HONEY. HELLO RAVAGE.
Bee keeps flinching so much. His PTSD. It is bad. LOL. I said "Not a Smiths fan" before Charlie did. +wibbles so hard+ Bee has his first human.
(listening to Charlie talk about losing her dad, hit son and me both. Him for the recent loss of his, me for coming up on Mom's deathiversary)
Memo is adorable in a particular way that is so the 80s oh Charlie is a teenager! So much.
Okay Sector 7's Powell is WORSE than Simmons was in the first movie.
Do not be stupid teenagers. "You Got the Touch", really?
Okay, Bee, a little much there. Oh dear. Cops. I love Bee, but boy he is very young (and damaged memory processors)
OH NO. MAKING HIM STAY HOME. This is going to go so badly. OH NO. NO NO NO BEE! And now the 'cons know.
Mom needed to hear all that.
OH JAYS, I actually had to look at the trivia to get that, BAD ASP. Judd Nelson - Hot Rod in the original '86 film / All the Breakfast Club spots in this
SHE'S DOING CPR! This is so The Abyss between Bud and Lindsey.
AND NOW IT IS IRON GIANT TIME! Very very good, well done.
okay the station wagon scene was cute
Okay, Charlie, honey? What in hell you think you gonna do? "I go, you stay" moment.
Bee against Dropkick DAMN BEE! Was Jazz your instructor? And Charlie to the rescue? She looks ... yep. Going after Shatter. Yep. Jazz taught Bumblebee how to fight, headcanon now. C'mon, Bee. HOLY SHIT! GREAT MOVE WITH THE CHAIN. AWWWWWW Bee saving Burns! And then, AND THEN! He took Shatter right out! Burns made the right choice.
And now, HOLY SHIT. They have to leave each other. I LOVE THEM SO MUCH (I feel bad for him having to deal with Sam after knowing Charlie.) MY HEART! SWEET! Nice car. Family reunion time. I APPLAUD the "not quite there yet" OMG I LOVED
And yeah, works better as a soft reboot than a prequel with that last scene Also, Bee-the-camaro riding alongside CLASSIC Semi that looked like PRIME of the cartoon? PRICELESS

INTEREST CHECK & ACTIVITY CHANGES!
Don't worry, we haven't forgotten activity checks! Lindsey and I have been working behind the scenes at ironing out some changes to how we do activity checks, to give you guys a little more leniency while allowing us to stay on top of things with less stress / guilt.
Starting on Monday, May 8th, our activity requirements will be changing. Any account inactive for two weeks will be automatically unfollowed. Accounts that are inactive for one week, display inconsistent activity and/or are not replying to open starters will be warned. Checks will be done twice a month -- once at the beginning/end, and once in the middle. That should give people plenty of time in between and also a little more structure. I will have a more detailed post on this on Monday, as well as adjusting our rules then, so if you have any questions, please ask!
Another thing that we are introducing at this point in time is our 'extended reserve for future use' section, in which players can now reserve one face that they plan on developing a character around. Only one, however! We don't want to encourage face hogging, and if a significant amount of time passes, we will reach out to check and see if you're still moving forward with said character. We know (from our own current experiences!) that it can sometimes take much, much longer than one week to properly research and develop a character, and want to extend that courtesy to our writers.
So! To get everyone on the same page and with a fresh, clean start, we are giving everyone this weekend to contact us and interact with this post. If you are good to go, just like it, we'll cross you off the list and your roles are yours. If you need to drop or swap, or pause anyone, or make any changes, let us know! Happy to help.
PLEASE LIKE THIS POST TO ACKNOWLEDGE YOU'VE READ IT AND WOULD LIKE TO KEEP YOUR ROLES!
Anna -- Sylvia Cuenco-Burke, Reyna Delgadillo, Jayla Hopkins, Alec Jacobs, Wesley James, Corrine Khang, Cathy Pacheco, Esperanza Tamayo.
Bri - Cordelia Browning, Eliza Edelman, Fallon Harris, Spencer Lawrence, Emeline Newman, Marquis Owusu, Vivienne Quinn, Ramsey Salazar.
Chayya -- Marlow Newman.
Emily -- Veila Madison. -- @veilamadison

Steph -- Katherine Evans, Thalia Williams.
MOD NOTE: I will cross names off of this list as they like the post and/or reach out to us. Those on hiatus automatically get a pass for now, and have been exempted. If you have not responded by Friday morning, we will tag you, just to give you a little notice. Unfollows for those who have not interacted with and/or messaged us will be done on Monday.

arike and satou dated?! woah who else are exes
So many exes. So so many.
Arike and Satou, Natisha Hiedeman and Jasmine Thomas, Alyssa Thomas and Jasmine Thomas, Jazmine Jones and Amanda Zahui B, Kayla Mcbride and Moriah Jefferson, Ty Young and everyone, Tayler Hill and Natasha Cloud, Tayler Hill and Tierra Ruffin Pratt, Dewanna Bonner and Candice Dupree, BG and Glory, Sue Bird and Kristen Mann, DT and LJ, Candice Dupree and Cheryl Ford, Katie Smith and Lindsey Harding, Deanna Nolan and Elaine Powell, LJ and Sheri Sam, and many more I'm sure.
Players who date players tend to only be interested in dating players. And there's only a few players at any given time interested in dating another player. So it's kind of like musical chairs.

Chris’s friends name is like Francesca or something, but they call her Fran. Also, I feel like they would incorporate Stacy somehow into their child’s name. Tobin is a namesake x2, so I feel like she would be down for that.
Oh yeah, Fran. Stacy would be in there yeah.
They really should just name the kid 'first name' - Stacy Fran M(h)egan Ashlyn Alyssa Lindsey Powell - Press 😂

HEATHER COX RICHARDSON
July 13, 2022 (Wednesday)
There are some follow-up stories today from yesterday’s public hearing of the House Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the U.S. Capitol.
Patrick Byrne, the former chief executive officer of Overstock, who was mentioned in the hearing yesterday as having attended the December 18 meeting in which lawyer Sidney Powell and former national security adviser Michael Flynn called for Trump to seize voting machines, will talk with the committee on Friday.
Byrne ran Overstock for twenty years before having to resign in 2019 after admitting to an affair with Maria Butina, an apparent guns rights activist from Russia who ingratiated herself with Republican politicians and who later pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to act as a Russian agent without registering with the Department of Justice. She now sits in the Russian parliament, or Duma, which critics say is a reward from the Kremlin.
Byrne has trafficked in conspiracy theories, and after the 2020 election, he became increasingly convinced that Trump was right when he claimed to have been cheated of victory.
Former White House director of strategic communications Alyssa Farah Griffin, who now works for CNN, told CNN today that when she told Trump’s White House chief of staff Mark Meadows that she was resigning after the election to move on as Trump’s term ended, Meadows said to her: “What if I could tell you that we’re actually going to be staying?”
In a different story, CNN reported that the recipient of the phone call Representative Liz Cheney (R-WY) called attention to yesterday from Trump to a witness was a White House support staff member who could corroborate the testimony provided by Meadows’s aide Cassidy Hutchinson. This person didn’t usually communicate with Trump and was concerned about the call.
Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) continues to fight his subpoena from a grand jury in Fulton County, Georgia, that wants to hear from him about at least two phone calls he made to Georgia secretary of state Brad Raffensperger to talk about the 2020 election. As of tonight, a judge has stayed the subpoena and on July 20 will hear arguments on whether to reject it.
The editorial board of the Charleston, South Carolina, Post and Courier today ran an editorial titled: “Just testify, Sen[ator] Graham.” It says Graham’s claim that the calls were about election procedures “never made sense.” Now his lawyers say that he was talking about elections to do his job as the chair of the U.S. Judiciary Committee—a top-ranking committee, by the way—which makes even less sense. The board says it doesn’t think Graham did anything illegal, but asserted that it is the duty of every U.S. citizen to “comply with a subpoena to testify.”
“We expect and deserve better from our senator,” it concluded.
( note - SERIOUSLY?  DO THEY REMEMBER WHO THEY'RE TALKING ABOUT HERE?)
And that’s just it, isn’t it? We are hearing now, 18 months after the fact, that our president tried to overturn our democracy, forcing his own will onto unwilling voters. And, at the time, no one in the White House said anything to the public or to our law enforcement officials to stop this deadly attack.
Worse, it appears that a number of our lawmakers were complicit in the attempt to overturn our democracy. The committee has named at least ten representatives who conspired with the president, and another, Representative Barry Loudermilk (R-GA), who gave a tour through the Capitol complex on January 5, but there have been hints that others knew something was up as well, and that some might have been helping with the scheme.
There is still the question of which senators and representatives saw a presentation of the 38-page PowerPoint titled “Election Fraud, Foreign Interference & Options for 6 JAN,” referred to by the committee in mid-December 2021. That anyone went to the trouble of making a 38-page PowerPoint suggests they expected a decent-sized audience.
Cassidy Hutchinson, who was a top aide to Trump’s chief of staff Mark Meadows, testified that House minority leader Kevin McCarthy called her, angry, when he thought Trump was going to go to the Capitol.“‘[T]he president just said he’s marching to the Capitol,” McCarthy allegedly told Hutchinson. “You told me this whole week you aren’t coming up here, why would you lie to me?’” Why had McCarthy been hearing for a week about Trump’s plans with regard to the Capitol?
On January 5, Senator Charles Grassley (R-IA), who was the president pro tempore of the Senate, the second highest-ranking person in the Senate after the vice president, told reporters about the next day: “Well, first of all, I will be—if the Vice President isn’t there and we don't expect him to be there, I will be presiding over the Senate.” His office immediately clarified that Grassley meant only that he would preside over counting of the Electoral Votes only if Vice President Mike Pence “had to step away during Wednesday’s proceedings,” and that “‘[e]very indication we have is that the vice president will be there.” But considering everything we know now about the plans to get Pence out of the way, Grassley’s comment continues to bother me. The silence from Republicans over what we have been hearing from the January 6th committee is deafening.
It is impossible to avoid the conclusion that they were willing to permit Trump to overturn the will of the voters—to overturn our democratic form of government—if it meant they could retain power. We ignore this willingness to destroy our democracy at our peril.
Two days ago, a spokesperson for Hungarian prime minister Viktor Orbán announced that the Conservative Political Action Conference has invited Orbán to give an opening address at their gathering in Dallas, Texas, next month. Trump, who has endorsed Orbán in his recent election, will also be speaking.   (c'mon Joe, don't let the State Dept give him a visa to come here!)
America’s self-styled “conservatives” have gotten increasingly close to Orbán, thanks in part to the enthusiasm of Fox News Channel host Tucker Carlson for the Hungarian leader. This spring, Carlson broadcast his show from Hungary, which, with fewer than 10 million people, is about the size of Michigan. (It always strikes me as exceedingly odd that the same people who claim to champion America are using this small central European country as a model for the United States.) In April, CPAC met in Hungary, where Orbán gave a long address.
Orbán has eroded democracy in his country, replacing it with what he calls “illiberal democracy,” or “Christian democracy.” His country still holds nominal elections, but their outcome is preordained because the government controls all the media and has silenced opposition. Illiberal democracy rejects modern liberal democracy because the equality it champions means an acceptance of immigrants, LGBTQ rights, and women’s rights and an end to traditionally patriarchal society. Orbán’s model of minority rule promises a return to a white-dominated, religiously based society, and he has pushed his vision by eliminating the independent press, cracking down on political opposition, getting rid of the rule of law, and dominating the economy with a group of crony oligarchs.
When he spoke at CPAC in April, Orbán told the attendees that the right wing in Europe and the United States must fight together to “reconquer” institutions in Brussels and Washington, D.C., before the 2024 election because those “liberals” who currently control them are destroying western civilization.

💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
@theluxuriousfangirl asked for questions 1, 8, 12, 15, and 29, and I replied. The most challenging question for me to answer had to be 12 because I have a bunch of favorite authors, I used to read a lot for leisure. Anyways, these are my answers.
What’s your favorite character(s) to write for?
I started to get into writing again and for Sebastian Stan. If it’s Bucky/Sebastian Stan-related, I’ve only been able to two for them (Birthday Girl and Rock Star). I have them posted up on my Tumblr page and I'll share the links for them as well. Starting to enjoy writing for him and some of his various movie characters. In the past, actor wise I’ve written for Orlando Bloom, some for his other movie roles, Pirates of the Caribbean, Jackson Rathbone, Kellan Lutz (I was a huge Twilight fan when the movies were out).
8. Do you prefer writing one-shots or multi-chaptered stories?
When I was younger (20 moons ago lol) back during the early 2000’s when I was working in retail, in college for my first unfinished college degree, I had the energy wasn’t tired, I loved writing multi-chaptered stories. My old Orlando Bloom ones got tons of feedback when I was in Yahoo Orlando Bloom fan groups These days, it seems I am lucky if I can find some time where I can work on and write a one-shot.
12. Who is your favorite author?
Hmm tough question, I have a lot. In my teens, I loved Johanna Lindsey, I often bought her books. I later got into more erotic romances by Susan Johnson and Robin Schone. In my twenties, I liked Allison Brennan Mystery, Thriller, and Romance. Lately, I’ve been reading Sadie Kincaid’s books. Her new book in the LA Ruthless series just came out on June 3rd. I also like Lindsey Powell, Amber Adams, Fiona Cole, and Nicole Snow. My list often grows because of author’s books popping up in my Facebook feed. I sometimes will share in my Tumblr posts about books I just finished reading or what are some of my favorites that aren’t exactly erotic-related romance.
15. What is the fanfic you’ve written that you’re most proud of?
Well, if you can consider a movie script a form of fanfic, I would say my first movie script called Shattered I wrote in May 2007. I wrote that after I had just gotten out of an abusive relationship/engagement it helped me heal and find some closure. It didn’t hurt that seeing Pirates of the Caribbean 3, 9 times either helped with how fast I was writing it. It was the first piece of my work that I actually got registered with the Writers Guild Of America (WGA) in March 2015 and actually sent to Kellan Lutz to read as a 30th birthday gift. It also was a way of saying thanks for commenting me that I was vocal, and he liked that about me, giving me courage to get brave enough finally do that. After doing that, I wouldn’t rule out trying to write something for Sebastian Stan.
29. What part of the writing process do you enjoy the most? (Brainstorming, outlining, writing, editing, etc)
It’s probably got to be Brainstorming. I don’t think my brain ever sleeps or takes a break from wanting to be creative. I can get ideas at the most random times or most random of places. I wish I could just be able to write the story in my head alone since it can play out like a movie preview. I also have a bit too much fun when I get into research.

What's streaming this week: Donald Glover, Run-D.M.C., 'Choir' and bye to 'Curb Your Enthusiasm'
Tumblr media
LOS ANGELES
The final, cringeworthy season of “Curb Your Enthusiasm” and a documentary on Run-D.M.C. are some of the new television, movies, music and games headed to a device near you.
Also among the streaming offerings worth your time as selected by The Associated Press’ entertainment journalists: Donald Glover starring as a spy in the new TV series “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” and a documentary about the making of the charity megahit “We Are the World.”
— Regardless of whether you think the 1985 charity anthem “We Are the World” is great or not, the making of it is fascinating. Director Bao Nguyen got access to never-before-seen footage and new interviews with Lionel Richie, Bruce Springsteen and Cyndi Lauper to help tell the story of how famous musicians, including Michael Jackson, Bob Dylan, Diana Ross and Stevie Wonder, got together one night for a marathon recording session. Nguyen told the AP in a recent interview that “The Greatest Night In Pop" humanizes "some of these icons that we’ve sort of idolized over many generations.” It’s on Netflix.
Tumblr media
— So Greta Gerwig didn’t get a best director nomination, but the good news is that the Criterion Channel has a new series starting Thursday about some of the “Lady Bird” and “Barbie” director’s favorite films. Gerwig’s “adventures in moviegoing” includes David Lean’s “Brief Encounter,” Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger’s “The Red Shoes,” Max Ophüls’ "The Earrings of Madame de…” and Claire Denis’ “Beau travail.” The channel also has a series on “Interdimensional Romance” with films like “A Matter of Life and Death,” “Wings of Desire,” “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind” and both versions of “Solaris.”
— And for those who were curious about “Dicks: The Musical,” but not enough to bite the bullet on a movie ticket, it will be streaming on Max starting Friday. In an article about the movie out of the Toronto Film Festival, AP Film Writer Jake Coyle wrote that this “Dadaist riff on ‘The Parent Trap’ … may be the most demented riff on a familiar story yet. The film … has been called the most gonzo movie of the year. It’s lewd, ridiculous and surreal. Hanna-Barbera was an inspiration.” Josh Sharp and Aaron Jackson star alongside Bowen Yang as God, Megan Thee Stallion, Nathan Lane and Megan Mullally.
— AP Film Writer Lindsey Bahr
— Bob Marley & The Wailers, The Clash, Beastie Boys — what do these legendary artists have in common? They owe much to Lee “Scratch” Perry, a pioneer of the dub music scene celebrated as one of reggae’s founding fathers. Perry (real name Rainford Hugh Perry) died in 2021 — but during the pandemic, he worked on new music material, which will be posthumously released in his final album, “King Perry,” out Friday, Feb 2. It features guest performances from Greentea Peng, Shaun Ryder, Tricky, Marta, Rose Waite and Fifi Rong. The final track, appropriately titled “Goodbye,” is Perry’s final vocal recording — an ambitious and celebratory song that features Perry repeating his farewell over and over again. It’s a fitting coda, and still an experiment, bringing his reggae into synth wave, drum’n’bass, big beat, and electronica. Even in death, Perry is looking towards the future.
Tumblr media
— When you’re done streaming “The Greatest Night in Pop” (see above), stay in the musical mid-’80s with “Kings from Queens: The RUN DMC Story.” This Peacock original documentary offers a close look at the early days of Joseph “Rev Run” Simmons, Darryl “DMC” McDaniels, and Jason “Jam Master Jay” Mizell's revolutionary group — finding inspiration in the streets, bringing hip-hop to the masses, and, in doing so, validating and legitimizing what will soon become the most popular style of music — and assisting in turning it into a billion-dollar business. Let’s face it, “It’s Tricky to rock a rhyme, to rock a rhyme that’s right on time,” is both an earworm for the ages — and some astute musical analysis.
— AP Music Writer Maria Sherman
— The new Amazon Prime Video series “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” is not your 2005 “Mr. & Mrs. Smith.” Instead, Donald Glover and Maya Erskine star as two stranger spies who meet and are required to marry for their cover. The series was created by Glover and Francesca Sloane, who says she looked to reality TV like “Love is Blind” and “90 Day Fiancé” for inspiration. All eight episodes will be ready to binge on Friday.
— “Curb Your Enthusiasm” fans are pretty pretty pretty disappointed because the show begins its final season on Sunday, on HBO. The irreverent comedy stars Larry David as a fictionalized version of himself who lands in awkward situations at every turn. Recurring favorites Jeff Garlin, Susie Essman, Cheryl Hines, and J.B. Smoove will be back.
Tumblr media
— A new Disney+ docuseries called “Choir” follows the Detroit Youth Choir — who first made a splash appearing on “America’s Got Talent” in 2019 — as members audition and prepare to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York. All six episodes drop Wednesday.
— UK comedian Sir Lenny Henry used his own family history to create “Three Little Birds,” a BritBox series that follows three women moving from Jamaica to London in the 1950s. Henry says the show’s immigration story is universally relatable because all immigrants understand that it’s difficult to start over and build a new life. “Three Little Birds” premieres Thursday.
— Past seasons of National Geographic’s “Genius” anthology series covered Albert Einstein, Pablo Picasso and Aretha Franklin. Season 4 focuses on two civil rights legends, the Rev Dr Martin Luther King Jr and Malcolm X. “Genius: MLK/X” delves into each man’s formative years, rise to influence and differing philosophies. The first two episodes drop Thursday on National Geographic. It will also stream on Hulu and Disney+.
Tumblr media
— Don’t worry, “Dateline” hosts, your jobs are safe. For now. Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino of “Jersey Shore” has entered the chat. He’s hosting “Statute of Limitations,” a new true crime show where everyday people who have committed nonviolent crimes tell their story. (Think: A thief who used a hot air balloon as a getaway vehicle.) What’s more, their statute of limitations has run out so they’re free and clear to talk. In 2019, Sorrentino served eight months in prison for lying on his taxes. “Statute of Limitations” will be available to stream beginning Thursday on platforms including Tubi, YouTube and The Roku Channel.
— Alicia Rancilio
— England’s Rocksteady Studios built its reputation on 2009’s dazzling Batman: Arkham Asylum. Alas, the developer is turning to the dark side of the DC Universe with Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. Rather than soloing as the Caped Crusader, you’re now invited to team up with friends as members of Task Force X: Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang and King Shark. What do they have against Superman, the Flash and their buddies? Well, Brainiac has brainwashed the superheroes and now it’s up to the supervillains to save Metropolis. You can expect guest appearances by the likes of Lex Luthor, the Penguin and the Riddler, and publisher Warner Bros. Games is promising a steady flow of downloadable scoundrels in the future. The brawling begins Friday on PlayStation 5, Xbox X/S and PC.
