Hello! Director Shadow here!
I just wanted to let everyone over here know that development on the script is still going on! I hope to have draft two finished some time by the end of this year, perhaps in November even.
But, that can only happen with the support and creativity from someone like you! That’s right, script writer auditions are still open and always will be, until said script is finished! So if that sounds fun to you, then head on over to the Discord Server to audition!

The award winning Scottish screenwriter Troy Kennedy Martin was born on February 15th 1932 at Rothesay on the Isle of Bute.
I’ll hazard a guess many of you will not know the name here, but the vast majority of you, well here at home anyway, will know one of the most iconic lines out of a classic movie, the words  “You're only supposed to blow the bloody doors off.”
His father was an engineer and his mother a teacher. Moving frequently because of the second world war and his father’s work, his was a talented and creative family.
The family established themselves in north London, only to have the household income, never large, halved by the death of Troy’s mother when he was 15. The Catholic church helped to keep them afloat, and Troy went to Finchley Catholic grammar school, followed by Trinity College Dublin. After completing his National Service he wanted to move into the Foreign Office, but Troy, although having a toffee nosed name, did not speak with toffees in his mouth and was rejected. He thought if he was a published writer this might be a route in so set about work on a short work of poetry of novel, his novel, Beat on a Damask Drum but it wasn’t this that kick started his career on civvy street, but an article he wrote on boy soldiers in Cyprus the BBC picked it up and asked him to adapt it into a TV play. Based on his own experiences during national service as an officer with the Gordon Highlanders, this became the television play Incident at Echo 6, screened in 1958.
And that was the start of a career spanning over five decades, Troy Kennedy Martin is responsible for an impressive body of work and has left an indelible impression on the history of television. His work has touched the lives of millions of people all over the world and shaped the vocabulary of television today.
Kennedy Martin’s array of television successes include Z-Cars, The Sweeney and Edge of Darkness. He also made regular forays into cinematic script writing, most notably with his screenplay for The Italian Job. Another fantastic film he penned was  Kelly's Heroes, which featured some great actors in Clint Eastwood, Telly Savalas, Donald Sutherland and Harry Dean-Stanton
Innovative and influential, Kennedy Martin showed that quality drama could be accessible. His nuclear thriller, Edge of Darkness , one of the key television works of the decade, was repeated on BBC1 a mere 10 days after the final episode had been transmitted on BBC2. His ITV production Reilly: Ace of Spies is another favourite of mine was also highly praised and was one of several works screened at his 2006 British Film Institute retrospective. Based on the true story of  Sidney Reilly, I never knew the story beforehand and I was shocked when Reilly played brilliantly by Sam Neill fell after a shot rung out and was left lying in the snow, I was willing him to get up....... Kennedy Martin;s script really hit home.
They were a talented family, his sister Mo, was a member of the London/Irish folk group folk group The Tinkers, his brother was also a talented writer for television, he created the popular BBC Cop drama, Juliet Bravo, and The Sweeney, enlisting Troy to pen some of the episodes.
Described as a “ A talented, generous and agreeable man, he was dedicated to his work. He married the Z Cars cast member Diane Aubrey in 1967 and remained devoted to their two children after their divorce.
Troy  Kennedy Martin  died of lung cancer on 15th September 2009 aged 77, in Ditchling, East Sussex.history television movies films

How to Write a Script for a Video
Tumblr media
Not all videos require a script, but when they do it’s important to hit a number of key points within the required timeframe whilst keeping your audience engaged. The script informs the storyboard and final visuals, so it’s important to perfect the script before moving onto the next production stage.
At Squideo, we provide optional copywriting under our whitelabel services. Alternatively, we offer copywriting assistance for clients who want to produce their own script but need help with optimisation – for example, reducing the length, refining the tone and keeping the language consistent.
youtube
To delve into the world of copywriting, we’re having a conversation with Squideo’s resident Copywriter and Marketing Executive.
01. How long should a video script be?
That depends on how long the video will be! We work on a rule of thumb at Squideo – 70 words per 30 seconds. If your video is going to be a minute long, the script should be 140 words. If it’s five minutes long, that goes up to 700 words.
We calculated this by analysing the videos in our archives and looking at the words per minute speed of our voice over artists. There is room for variation, however. Typically we have a 10 word margin around this figure to ensure the script doesn’t stop awkwardly. The viewer should be left wanting more, not wondering why the feed cut out!
No matter the length of your video, it’s important to hit some key points as early as possible. Plenty of research has been done about the average view time of videos by different demographics on different platforms. A video needs to hook viewers as quickly as possible to increase the overall view time.  Try to mention:
The company or organisation’s name
Product or service name
Slogan
One or more unique selling points (USPs)
By including these points early on, you are certain that the audience has come away having learnt something about you even if they don’t watch the entire video.
02. What is your process for writing a video script?
Squideo’s projects start with a kick-off call. This gives the client the chance to meet the Production Manager, who will be the primary liaison, and a Video Producer, who will work on the visuals. If they have asked for copywriting or copywriting assistance, I will also join the call.
I have a list of questions that I need to ask before I can start creating a video script. Depending on how much information the client has already provided prior to the call some of these may already be answered, but it’s always helpful to confirm these details.
In the kick-off call, I like to ask:
About the company or organisation
For an overview of the client’s video idea
About the video’s key message and its aim
Where the video will be uploaded and who the target audience is
Whether it should be written in British English, American English, Australian English etc.
What tone the script should have
If there is any language I should include, such as a slogan or tagline
What the call-to-action will be
The call also gives the client an opportunity to ask the team questions, learn about our revisions process and put faces to the people they will work with on the project.
03. Do you need to choose a voice over artist before writing the script?
Not necessarily.
Sometimes the script can inform the choice of voice over artist. Once the video’s narrative is on paper and the tone has become clear, your choice of voice over artist might change to better match this script.
Alternatively, if you have a firm decision about the voice over artist early on in the process – perhaps voiced by yourself or someone on your team – this can give the script great direction in tone as it needs to reflect this language pattern.
04. What do you mean by tone?
The tone of a video is the style of language it will use. That doesn’t only mean the dialect of English (British or American, for example), but also the presence you want your narrator to have.
A corporate tone would use formal or semi-formal language. It might use more technical language for a specialist audience.
A reassuring tone is friendly and upbeat.
An energetic tone is friendlier and relies on shorter, catchier language to keep the viewer engaged. It works well in adverts or educational videos.
A serious tone is informative and eschews sales language to focus on delivering key facts.
Have a look at the example below. These scripts have been written for the same company, but the tone is different.
Tumblr media
Scripts can incorporate multiple tones to match your organisation’s brand.
05. How long does it take to write a script?
How long is a piece of string?
There are two main factors that effect the speed of copywriting:
How large or small the total word count is.
Whether all the details needed to write the script have been provided by the client(s).
Taking these factors into consideration, Squideo’s Production Manager creates a schedule for our team and the client for key production targets and receiving client feedback. We have an average turnaround of 6-8 weeks, varying depending on the length of the project.
Typically the storyboard is produced shortly after the script and both documents are sent together so the client can get a feel of how the two will work together. The client can then come back with revisions to the script and/or storyboard, which will be implemented then resubmitted for the client’s approval.

Going to go on ahead and Write a Henry Cavill/Sebastian Stan Character Cross Over Fan Fiction Story for October 2022
I’m going to do this, I’m going to write a Henry Cavill/Sebastian Stan Character Cross Over Fan Fiction. I hope that would get some people excited that I actually want to attempt this or that they would be interested in reading. I’ll explain why I want to start writing and to then begin posting all throughout October.
As a Domestic Violence Survivor, I wanted to write something for Next month in October, which many people aren’t aware of also is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. I’ve come up with an idea that would be perfect for October that I have been thinking about constantly a lot more for the past few months. This story plot/idea keeps coming back or resurfacing, it’s now just begging and itching for me to get out of my head and write. Maybe more now because of current events that have gone on this past summer that have involved Violence Against Women and Roe V Wade being overturned.
It seems that if something or someone gets me angry enough to want and latch out or do something, I’ll end up venting through writing, some of my best work has been the result of that.
The title I came up with was “Obligated Burden”. Just to add some background info, I’ve had this story idea in my head for the last 9 years. Not the first time I have ever had a story stuck in my head that long. Some of my original story plots might have changed a bit after what has been going on since 2013 and becoming Sebastian Stan and Henry Cavill fans. Some writing prompts I’ve recently come across and have been saving have also given me more ideas.
One thing still does remain the same though, and that is part of the plot where it is an arranged marriage business contract deal that the two main characters are coerced to do and have no choice since they are both given legal custody of their God Children after their mother is murdered. I really don’t want to use Coercion in the title, and looked up various words for Coerce. At first, I was going to go with Obligated Requirement but then decided to go with Obligated Burden. Or maybe Coercive Burden could work, I’m not sure.
That’s my idea, I’m going to try and start plotting an outline today while I watch Top Gun 2 and The Man From U.N.C.L.E, now a bit thankful that I have and use 2 working laptops sometimes at once, one I can watch the movies in and the other can have a word document open and can work on writing.

Nickelback One of the groups I often listen to while writing is on Obligated Burden's Playlist
What have you gained? What have you done? Nothing but shame and there's nowhere to run Who takes the blame? Why have they come? What in God's name have you done?
Song: Nickelback The Betrayal (Act III) video link at the bottom of the post
Currently, on Repeat, I need to channel feeling enraged and angry for some parts of the story
I love this group, there is a lot of their songs are on my Eating Disorder Recovery Playlist as well. Their songs relate to how I felt in the stages of my Eating Disorder and even while I was in a Domestic Violence relationship. I just recently came across Feed the Machine album 2 weeks ago on Youtube, that's when I heard the album for the first time and this song The Betrayal (Act III).
Here's my little personal emotional therapy session for the day: When I hear this song, it makes me think of how my Eating Disorder both lied and betrayed me, I mean the effing mental illness tried to kill me 3 times and failed. It even makes me think about how my Ex (my abuser) lied and betrayed me. How, I even can Betray him, Turn the tables on him since I'm a writer. His own actions and the consequences of his actions provided me enough fuel and material to write for a lifetime. As a Survivor, That's Where I Don't Give A Fuck. I Have No Shame In Using Him Like This. I'm His Karma Returned Tenfold!
Maybe it's just me who thinks that, but the victims often feel betrayed while in Domestic Violence. Rather it's from their Abuser, the Abuser's Friends, family, their own friends and family, Law Enforcement, Court System. Even as a Woman, I Feel Betrayed by the 6 Supreme Court Justices one of them being a woman mind you, and a current 196 Republican Members in Congress, even by Walgreens (the 17-year-old girl murdered by a 28-year-old co-worker for rejecting his advances, Rejection Kill) and Society. They even fuel my writing material.

Hi! I'm Writer Rae!
I figured its about time I introduced myself! I'm one of the people on the writing team! Right now one of my main jobs is to go over the in-progress scripts and make sure things flow nicely, and that the characterizations stay consistent episode to episode.
I got into the Four Swords fandom through Linked Universe, and I've been interested in the zelda franchise as a whole most of my life! (Wind Waker was one of the first video games I ever played!)
I'm generally pretty busy with animation school, but I try to work on projects like this when I have the chance. School is a lot of work, but I love it!
If any of you guys want to reach me my main blog is @namine-rae I'm almost always happy to talk about animation production, and other zelda things!
