Part of the reason I talk about the League of Nine so much aside from my personal hyperfixation and the interest in Korean literature it awoke in me, is that something that is completely lost in like 99% of western users is that Canto IV and the League of Nine's backstory was Heavily based on the Japanese occupation of Korea since this is the time where the real Yi Sang and Guinhoe lived. Even Mili's song for the Ruina collection Salt, Pepper, Birds and The Thought Police is, in fact made in honor of another author from this era Yun Dong-ju who actively stood up against the Japanese forces. Even Ruina's tagline is a reference to his book Sky, Wind, Stars, and Poetry and every chapter of Ruina starts with a quote from him.
It's very much undivorcable from this context but the information is very hard to access for non-Koreans and a lot of people don't really do the research but I want this aspect of the story to be acknowledged more, specially with the Blade Lineage's storyline highlighting more on the kind of displacement, alienation and corruption that led to them having to abandon their roots much like Limbus' reimagining of the Guinhoe. The reason Dongrang and Gubo are so villafied is because as the Guinhoe corrupted under the pressure of oppression those two were some of the worst offenders, actively writing propaganda and abandoning their people for the sake of siding with whoever benefited them best, and as someone who also grew up living through the aftereffects of colonialism and immigration it's all specially clear to me.
Though personally, I'm quite relieved that the fanwiki has also been updating with the proper resources in regards to the real life background and context, I recommend the pages for at least a more simplified rundown of a lot of the key details and the references made by each member in Canto IV (though it doesn't include some things I have talked about here before and I have made my resolution to contribute to it as well)

I was recently going over all the instances of TK and Carlos calling each other "babe" and "baby" and I particularly noticed a bit of a recurring theme: Carlos checking in with TK about whether he ate/what he wants to eat and TK checking in with Carlos about whether he slept/encouraging him to sleep. It makes me incredibly emotional the way they take care of each other differently but so perfectly 🥺

what they don't tell you about thesis editing is that sometimes you just gotta kill entire paragraphs at a time because if you don't fully understand something you shouldn't include it. they won't know it's something you don't know if you never mention it.

I know there's a Tumblr post going around (and a fanfiction based on it) exploring what would happen in the Lone Pines timeline if Marty was trans man and Doc heard that the McFly's third child was a daughter and was so disappointed until gradually he realized that this "daughter" was actually going to transition into the Future Boy he knew but I also would love to imagine a situation where 50s Doc somehow found out that Marty is trans and so he knows the WHOLE TIME that this "daughter" is gonna to be a son (this is inspired by a trans Ash Ketchum fic i read where Professor Oak was similarly Knowing) and I'm literally rotating this scenario in my head so much but i don't know how to beat write it

OHOHOHOOHOH!!!!! BLESSINGS!!!!! >:) I do LOVE a project and I’ve been meaning to get back into it 👀👀 I think it would be a worthy endeavor while waiting patiently for new chapters to post.
(Also if it wasn’t clear, I fucking adore the way you captured Nico and Jason’s voices, AND Dionysus!!! Like, holy shit, that is Mr. D!!! Frankly, in my humble onion, you have a better grasp on their characters than Ricky boy does. Some of the best characterization I have read in a WHILE. I am so excited to get to read more, AND to be able to create from it!!!! <3 you’re the bomb diggity fr.)

Artist Research - Nasa
For my arist research today, I will be looking at the 2020 poster collection titled Visions of the Future.
Not accredited to any individual artist, the series of posters was designed by a team of visual strategists at Nasa's Jet Propulsion Labratory referred to as "The Studio."
Visions of the future is a collection of parody travel posters created for different planets within our galaxy. The designs take influence from vintage scifi films and comics. Each poster sports a charming and unique tagline such as "Europa - Discover life under the ice".
The lineless illustrative style they use is inviting with full landscape scenes depicting what they would imagine the surface of each planet would look like. The images often take a domestic and ordinary approach to such alien planets, such as adding a white picket fence to Kepler-186f.
I admire the fully detailed scenes and how they tell visual stories. I also admire their colour schemes, which typically stick to either warm or cool tones. I would like to take inspiration from such aspects of these designs when it comes to my own poster
