STEMinist Club Doing Important Work!

The STEMinist club is a group of female students who are passionate about science, technology, engineering, and math. The faculty advisor is math department chair Elizabeth Wolf. The club meets on a regular basis to discuss STEM issues and frequently have guest speakers. They also have a monthly outreach to girls in the local communities. Tonight that outreach was right at home! Ms. Wolf sent me the below update and great photos.

The STEMinists hosted their first monthly STEM Club for Girls tonight. We had 10 campus girls come tonight to work with a group of high schools on an engineering project. The littlest kids worked on building the tallest tower they could with jelly beans and toothpicks and the older kids worked on building the strongest tower they could with spaghetti and marshmallows. We had a great time!

EastEnders actress Heather Chasen has died at the age of 92.

The star, best known for her role as Janine Butcher’s grandmother, Lydia Simmonds on the BBC soap died on 22 May.
