“And you’re sure he’ll take me on?”

With a sigh, Kakyoin flippantly waves his clipboard at you. He was a fast walker so you were struggling to keep up with his steps, but you stayed in line with his strides.

“Look, I can’t promise you anything, okay? But knowing Jotaro — and knowing you, I’m sure it’ll all work out fine.”

For such an on-a-whim decision, the man sure did seem confident. However, that still didn’t stop you from chewing your bottom lip in anxiety.

Jotaro Kujo — also known as one of the industry’s best photographer — wasn’t granted that title so easily. He was known for having a keen eye but an even keener taste.

You’ve heard countless stories about his ruthless procedures and methods in order to capture the perfect shot. You’ve heard even more stories about how so many companies and sponsors walked away from a partnership with him due to his no-nonsense attitude.

Which from a far, you had learned to respect and admire, but your long time friend (who also happened to be Jotaro’s scouting agent) deemed that you get up close and personal with him.

Pushing open one of the many fire exit doors, Kakyoin briefly held it for you before letting it fall shut behind him once you passed.

“If anything, I’m surprised it’s taken this long for the two of you to work together.” He thoughtfully mused.

As you and Kakyoin entered an open space that seemed like a waiting room, the first thing you heard was a muted yet loud crash.

Instantly, you both looked towards each other in concern. There was a slight pause before a door opened up ahead and out came scurrying a plethora of girls who none seemed quite pleased.

Taking initiative, Kakyoin instantly stepped forwards.

“Ladies, Ladies! What’s on earth the matter?!”

“He’s absolutely horrible, Nori! Such a pain to work with, he’s honestly detestable!”

The girl who spoke up from within the crowd you instantly recognised as Trish Una.

She was an uprising model who was walking the same runways as the Hadid’s and Moss’ by the age of 19. You had large respect for her portfolio but it was girls like her you weren’t really fond of — Wormed their way through the top via Daddy’s connections and Ma’s ‘Special Diet’.

Nepo babies sure did grind your gears and they were one of the many reasons why staying within this industry was chewing at your soul.

“I know he can be a bit rough round the edges but can’t you give him another go? Remember what we spoke about; Working with him would be so good for your brand.”

The look Kakyoin gave Trish hinted towards bigger connotations. You have no doubt he had a deal with her agency for this shoot.

With a shrug, the pink haired girl made a stank face.

“I don’t need him that much to the extent where I have to tolerate his nasty behaviour. You know what he told me? He said that I had such little talent, that I should consider pursuing a career where I need to show my face less. Do you know how fucked up that is?”

Kakyoin made a strained face. Even you had to turn your head to the side in order to mask your disbelief because that really was a bold statement.

Holding the clipboard just over his lips, the red haired man partially mumbled.

“Oh, well in that case, that is pretty fucked up—”

“He’s so lucky that he comes from old money. I swear, if he was some indie photographer, I would have made sure he never pursue the passion ever again.”

Trish doesn’t wait to be consoled. Clicking her fingers towards the other girls, she brushes her way past you and Kakyoin before exiting out through the fire exit you just emerged from.

Wiith a sigh, Kakyoin looked back towards you. You could tell he was fatigued in all this and so all you did was nod in solidarity.

“I promise, he’s not that bad, okay? He just has his…quirks.” He says to you, although it sounded more like he was trying to convince himself.

“I don’t doubt that but I do doubt I won’t be good enough to handle those quirks.” As the both of you walked towards the other door you sighed your comment.

At your words, Kakyoin looked towards you with a determined look — one you haven’t seem on him for years. His hand was pressing down onto the door handle but he didn’t open the door just yet.

“Babes, I know how you feel right now. The feeling of wanting to give up because of the lack of positive reception whilst mediocre talent is being praised — it sucks and it’s hard. But I truly, truly believe that you should try Jotaro before you decide to throw in the towel. You do have a knack for this sorta thing but I need you to believe in yourself for just a bit longer, okay?”

You sighed once again but this time you briefly looked upwards before back down at your friend.

“I hate that you’re convincing.” You mumbled.

With a wide grin, Kakyoin shrugged.

“Guess it comes with the job.”

Finally pushing the door open, the red haired man entered the room with a different energy he’d just shown you. With an authoritative huff, Kakyoin strode across the room towards the main shoot area before slamming his clipboard on one of the tables.

“God, Jojo. Is it necessary that you have to scare off every high roller that walks in here? Would it really hurt you to just do one job that pays the bills?” He hissed.

As you stepped into the area, you weren’t so focused on Kakyoin’s words as you were in starry amazement at how beautiful the room was.

There was so much natural light flooding in from the three windowed walls so you could tell that it was the perfect place for all types of pictures.

However, what amazed you even more was how much expensive and elaborate equipment there was.

You’ve been on sets for full productions but all of them paled compared to this set up right here. With an almost 20ft white drop, multiple lantern lights, an installed lighting rig and a three desked post-shoot operations area, you knew that this was the real deal.

“It’s not my fault the camera doesn’t like her. She’s not very picturesque to look at.”

There, crouching on the floor with a dustpan and brush, was none other than the notorious Jotaro Kujo.

The sight of the famous photographer in person caused your heart to slightly pause but to Kakyoin it only seemed to higher his blood pressure.

”I don’t care about that stuff, Jojo! Whether she’s pretty or not isn’t the issue. No matter how you put it, at the end of the day, you’re here to provide a service. Remember that.”

Jotaro huffed at Kakyoin’s words and positioned himself to reply but it’s when he caught sight of you from across the room, that he paused.

Slowly raising from his crouching position, your eyes goggled as you were forced to reckon with how tall the photographer was.

“Can I help you?”

His voice was low, gruff as he spoke with little care or regard for the individual.

You knew you were here on request of Kakyoin but a part of you instantly wanted to stand up for yourself — especially after seeing how Trish and those girls reacted to him.

“I dunno, can I?”

In hearing your near hostile reply, Kakyoin knew he had to intervene. Making his way over to you, the red haired man beckoned you further into the room with a warning glare.

“Okay, okay look come over here.” He mumbled.

You kept your expression clear on Jotaro, the man as equally as aware of you as Kakyoin pushed you to stand where he just previously was.

Standing next to you, Kakyoin gestured in your direction.

“Jotaro, right here is your next client.”

The man took a good look at you. His eyes scanned you from head to toe, his crystal blue eyes critical of your every flaw and chip. After what seemed like a life time, he turned towards Kakyoin and spoke as if you weren’t even there.

“I told you, I’ve stopped doing handouts.”

You made a face of wild disgust, your lips already moving in retaliation but Kakyoin had a protective hand on your wrist which he squeezed.

“Jojo, this isn’t a handout, you—…” The red haired man took a deep breath before starting again.

“She isn’t asking for a handout, Jotaro. This is a personal recommendation on my behalf. This is separate from work — It’s me asking you to give her a chance simply for the art of it.”

Jotaro’s eyes flicked in Kakyoin’s direction again. His stoic face did most of the talking but apparently Kakyoin was able to read something else within in.

His voice lowered as he spoke to the photographer more genuinely.

“I know we haven’t had a lot of those moments these days but I thought we’d give it a shot. There’s always that one muse that relights the fire and I really think she’s it.”

You could tell that Jotaro was thinking hard in akin to how his face flickered and changed as he looked between you and his scouting agent.

After what seemed like ages, Jotaro moved across the room with big strides before talking into your vague direction.

“You’ve got 30 minutes to get yourself camera presentable. Don’t disappoint me.”

To say Jotaro was a professional after seeing his work was one thing; A master’s portfolio rightfully decorated by lives works and efforts. However, it’s now that you’ve actually worked with him that you realise his craft and professional status was donned via his work ethos and ethic.

“Interesting.” The photographer muses as he scrolls through the post-shoot footage.

With baited breath, you stood a few steps behind Jotaro, watching with tentative eye to see whether you were up to his standard or not.

“So…?” You impatiently asked, your fingers fiddling with the hem of your top.

Jotaro’s eyes continued to stay trained on the screen but you watched as his face glowed with the white flashback.

“Where did you train?” He muses.

The question caught you off guard but you answered regardless.

“What, where I learned how to model?”

“Mm.”

Feeling almost ashamed in your answer, your next words came out a lot quieter than your others.

“I… I’m self taught. I’ve done a few gigs here and there but most of my stuff I’ve had to research and learn on my own.”

There was a slight delay in an answer from him.

For awhile, there was only the sound of the soft click, click of the mouse as Jotaro flicked through the content of you. Finally, he stood back from the monitors before looking in your direction.

“Well, looks like Noriaki was right about something for once.”

You didn’t reply, unsure about what Jotaro was hinting at pertaining his words were muttered. However, the man looked you over once more before he let the ghost of a smirk grace his lips.

“You really do reignite fires.”

RP EXPERIENCE/HOW LONG (MONTHS / YEARS?): On Tumblr? About 8 years. In general....let’s just say my first RP experience was on a website where you raised virtual pets in a placed called Neopia. It’s, uh, it’s been a while.

BEST EXPERIENCE: The glory days of the Soul Eater RP community on Tumblr. Back when I had a whole cast of mutuals that all wrote together and followed eachother’s threads and played off of them. Back when crack threads would go on till the wee hours of the morning with the whole community jumping on board. Back when I was one of only 2 active Black*Stars and we all got along great..........those were amazing times and I’ll never forget them. I miss you, Micah and Bea, wherever life has taken you these days.

RP PET PEEVES/DEALBREAKERS: People who come charging in and start god-modding, good LORT. And political posting out the wazoo. You can have an opinion, obviously, but none of us are here for politics, we’re here to write and escape. Don’t ruin it.

FLUFF, ANGST OR SMUT: All of the above. Like...I swear. ALL of it.

PLOTS OR MEMES: Plotting is hard for me unless I have a solid idea or my mutual has a good idea to start on. I tend to be very on the fly so memes help me start in a direction. However I do enjoy plotting and it has led to some great threads in the past and present!

LONG OR SHORT REPLIES: That depends on how much me and my writing partner have to say.

BEST TIME TO WRITE: Weekends. I work 4 days a week 10 hour days and Friday I run errands or get high, So weekends.

ARE YOU LIKE YOUR MUSE(S): I’ve been told before I have a similar vibe to Black*Star and Sun because I’m very confident, but I don’t personally feel like I’m very much similar to any of them. Maybe Edmund though....I might sell some people out for Turkish Delight, that shit is FIRE.
