I watched Maja Ma today and I do this as some form of self inflicted hurt/comfort cause I love me some desi queer people but also AHHHHHHHHHHHHGGGGGGGAHHSJSJS

I originally thought the son was gonna be supportive of the mum cause he was from America and maybe more exposed to queer people and accepting attitudes?? Boy was I wrong! I was also surprised that they revealed it so early in the movie and then I realised it was gonna be a forced outing trope and I was SO STRESSED.

I would kill for Pallavi she's wonderful spectacular amazing so sweet and she's such a compelling character!! The trope of queer people planning to run away from their not accepting community but then one staying is definitely a problematic one but also one that I am an absolute sucker for. THE ANGST!!! THE DRAMA!! THE DESPERATION!!! THE HOPE!!! THE FACT THAT YOU WANT TO HATE PALLAVI FOR BREAKING JANAKA'S HEART BUT YOU UNDERSTAND WHY SHE DID IT!!! THE DESPERATE WANT TO FIT IN AND BE LIKE EVERYONE ELSE!!! Also she's Madhuri Dixit!!! She literally played her so well she CARRIED the whole movie!!

Every other person in the movie annoyed the fuck out of me. I understand that they were supposed to be flawed but jesus Christ I wanted to punch them through the screen. (Apart from maybe the husband he was so funny I loved pallavis reactions to him trying to be romantic she really was like ??????? and also obviously liked Janaka and the fiancée was an absolutely wonderful person she deserves the world and can do way better than fucking bitchass dickface Tejas.) I genuinely started screaming at the son for trying to fucking convert his mum???! Violently as well?????! Your own mother????? I was ready to DICK PUNCH through the screen let me tell you. I hated the daughter so much. Obviously I get that we're supposed to get annoyed at her but god damn bitch was insane!! Loved it when that one queer person was like yeah her and her straight privilege and borrowed outrage can go fuck right off trying to fucking force her mum out of the closet in an extremely traditional society I was like GO OFF KING. TELL IT LIKE IT IS.

And obviously it's asking a bit much from a Bollywood movie to adhere to western views and language used about queer people and I'm taking what I can get really but god damn I hated the way she went about things and I hated that she was portrayed as an angry feminist gender studies person who's making trouble, like Jesus Christ we've had enough of that we don't want the one accepting person to be portrayed like their insane for accepting them??? I don't know what the purpose of her character was supposed to be?? I guess that line about her being more of a social worker than a daughter sums it up

Honestly girl ate with those speeches!!! I loved the bit where she was like yeah I failed the lie detector test cause they were asking the wrong questions. If they'd asked if she ever had fallen in love with a girl, then she'd gladly fail I was literally kicking my feet giggling at this!!

Yeah the way they resolved the conflict was a little bit childish but I got my comfort and I'm glad it wasn't queer sadness!! It was super interesting seeing this type of story from the mother's point of view, cause usually it's the kid coming out and facing these things and I think it added a really nice level of depth and angst about womanhood and being queer in a traditional Indian society. I loved how it had the quintessential Bollywood dance and song scenes I thought they were lovely!! I especially loved the last shot of pallavi and Janaka dancing together in the middle of the circle with the pulsing lights I thought that was so beautiful!!

Honestly overall this movie was messy and did make me want to scream more times than I thought was intended but the cute parts were really cute and pallavi's depth and character and Madhuri Dixit made it a whole lot better!! 6.8/10

So she was recently talking about how she met up with her Gujarati friend and how that friends had watched Maja Ma that new movie with Madhuri Dixit....

She said “how can people show such things, people will begin thinking it’s normal.”

While as long as I live in her house i can never tell it to her face, today on tumblr i will say for every single homophobic person out there, there should be someone who says “Any form of attraction or lack thereof is normal. Everyone is different, and that is never a bad thing. No matter what happens, you are still the same person I knew before.”

I knew today was going to be hectic but it wasn’t rushy atleast. There is a huge difference between hectic and rushy. Pankaj Agrawal’s son keeps calling me oh god i don’t know what to say to him i hope mom comes sooner so that she can talk to him.

I have been dressed up waiting for her for more than a hour now.

We went to the coffee house first and as soon as the car went to the basement we met Mr Penthouse. He was so kind, we told him all about the Pankaj Agrawal deal, he made me call his son and he talked to him. So nice. The son wants us to come over oh no.

He said i should always ask him before doing things so i said i don’t like bothering him so he said no you have to consult me always. He asked is to visit the site so we did. Fingers crossed. so next we went to Pankaj Agrawal’s house and i was in the fight mode and honestly i was scared of what was going to come next but everything went very smooth and easy. They made it sweet and treated us kindly. We do have to pay the registration, the agreement was for them to show to the bank, but i told him we do not have the funds (we do have the funds but i am saving it for the furnitures and to keep-in-hands. so we told them there could be done nothing, we have to postpone the registry. In the end uncle said that he is reducing one lac off the total flat fee and would loan us the money and we can pay him whenever. He is kind. We were super super super reluctant, he kept insisting and was really hurt when he overheard me telling mom about the jewelleries, he couldn’t understand how we could deny taking the money. I was okay with it from the starting though because thinking financially, it is good to save some money incase no no incase but for daily use because registry could cost us 5 lacs and right now thats almost all we have which is not locked up.

They say they feel nice how we always go over and clear our doubts out. Pankaj scolded Shubham bhaiya to stop calling me ma’am and call me khushi. Finally. Ma’am bothers me like stop it you’re older than me. They even got out to see us out, shubham touched mom’s feet.

Yeah his name is shubham, not som. His wife kept walking in and out a few times like a supermodel. huh jealous of the lifestyle.

So it has been decided that i am going to do the registry myself on monday and mom has a big pooja and fast that day and can’t be disturbed.

When we came back home i walked alone to the door store and finalised the door, i caught up with Pradhan aunty and walked along her till the dairy and then i went my way, on my way back i had to go through a space between parkings and i heard a guy referencing me as madhuri dixit with a shock to the other. Yash Raj Films announces the re-release of Shah Rukh Khan starrer Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Dil Toh Pagal Hai, and Chak De India

In this unique Nostalgia Film Festival, these films will be releasing from January 19 to January 22 at PVR and Inox Cinemas.

In what seems to be a unique trip down memory lane, Yash Raj Films is all set to take you on a filmy journey with the re-release of three of its biggest blockbusters starring Shah Rukh Khan. In a social media post, the production house announced the arrival of the iconic Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, mega hit Dil To Pagal Hai, and the blockbuster Chak De India at PVR and INOX Cinema chains in what is called as the Nostalgia Film Festival that kicks from January 19.

On Thursday, January 18, Yash Raj Films announced about the weekend film festival with a special post on Instagram along with a caption that read, “Relive the magic of your favourite movies on the big screen again… Nostalgia Film Festival @pvrcinemas_official @inoxmovies from 19th-22nd Jan!” Furthermore, the post also revealed that the ticket prices will be available for as low prices as Rs. 112. Although PVR and INOX chains have collaborated, the film will be releasing only in selected theatres belonging to these chains within selected cities like Mumbai, Bengaluru, Pune, Surat, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Kochi, among others. The list too has been shared by the production house for the ones who are reliving those memories.

Speaking of the films, all the three movies have Shah Rukh Khan essaying the male lead. While Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge (1995) is an iconic romantic drama featuring the megastar with his favourite co-star Kajol. The film has managed to break all records and remains to be one of the most iconic films in the genre of romance. On the other hand, Dil To Pagal Hai (1997) which stars Madhuri Dixit and Karisma Kapoor in lead roles, is expected to be a beautifully penned romantic drama by Yash Chopra, that brings together a tale of friendship and love.  Whereas Chak De India (2007) is a sports drama that features 11 women players across the country fighting against gender biases, caste prejudices and other challenges, as they aim to make to win the World Cup in a Global Championship Match.
