It's just an old basement. Quit complaining and have a quick look around down there. (Janet Aulisio, Call of Cthulhu supplement Mansions of Madness, Chaosium, 1990)

Workin' on another draw the squad for Mateo and William. With a cultist in the background of course.
I adore them so much, I have a few of old sketches from 2021 and 2022 as well as a ton of recent ones! I'll slowly post those. I know no one cares but I'm gonna do it anyways😂

Hi, I'm Nikki Valens (just call me Val). I'm a tabletop game designer, creative writer, and cultural consultant. I also stream on twitch for fun.

I'm always on the lookout for artists to commission for my games. If you'd like to do art for tabletop games, please say hi or submit something to my side blog.
See more about my games under the fold.
Artisans of Splendent Vale is a cooperative tactics and story game for 2-4 players set in a colorful contemporary fantasy world. It's main themes are friendship, community, and artistic expression.
Quirky Circuits is a cooperative action programming game for 2-4. Players work together with limited communication to control one of four robots to complete their daily tasks.
Legacy of Dragonholt is a cooperative narrative adventure for 1-6 players. Much like a tabletop rpg, you create a character and adventure through a fantasy world for fame, heroism, and friendship.
I also designed Eldritch Horror, Mansions of Madness Second Edition, Arkham Horror Third Edition, and did the digital design for XCOM: The Board Game. I'll add more information about each of my games when I have time.

I want more ttrpg with cards
I just love cards and I wish more ttrpgs would use them
Like rpg-adjacent board games use cards for all sorts of cool things. You can have spell cards representing your available spells. Item cards for both permanent and consumable items. Information cards. Status condition cards. Even meta-gaming cards like "use this to pass a saving throw" or "reroll your die" would be cool
I'm annoyed at the randomness of dice rolls and the clunkiness of character sheets and cards just have a perfect balance between tidiness and physicality that I think make games really comfortable to play. Like, you gear isn't just a line in a sheet, it's a physical thing you can look at and pick up. you can drop it on the map. you have to fit in your assigned slots. you can even do funky things like randomly selecting something to lose, or what to take, by putting cards in different piles and shuffling them. or you can put monster cards on top of treasure cards like they do in Pathfinder card game. There's just so much there.
Anyway if anyone can recommend actual ttrpg systems that use cards I really really want then

I realized some #tabletopgames didn’t make it onto my #pubmeeple ranking list so I tried this again. No surprises here now, except for the order on a few of the titles. Happy to play any of these #boardgames.
