Caio y Hurtado se lucieron en la Gran Vía de Madrid: 2° y 3° en el espectáculo de 10 km. de marcha

Fuente: Comité Organizador El italiano Francesco Fortunato ha ganado este domingo, 30 de abril, el II Gran Premio Internacional Finetwork Madrid Marcha, Cita de Campeones, con un tiempo vencedor de 38:56, por delante del brasileño Caio Oliveira de  Sena Bonfim (39:03) y del ecuatoriano David Hurtado (39:06), mientras que el mejor español, en la quinta posición, ha sido Paul McGrath, que además ha logrado la mejor marca española en categoría sub-23 con un registro de 39:09, de un total de 89 participantes, entre hombres y mujeres, en la prueba absoluta. El ideólogo y director técnico de la prueba, Diego García Carrera, ha finalizado en novena posición con 39:50, después de haber sido el año pasado segundo. “Es mi primer gran triunfo a nivel internacional. Sinceramente, no lo esperaba. Sí esperaba acabar en el podio pero no ganar. Cuando llevaba ocho kilómetros me vi con confianza y con energías para poder ir más rápido”, ha declarado Fortunato, que se ha impuesto en una prueba, sobre un recorrido de 10 kilómetros, que se ha desarrollado en el circuito urbano homologado de 1km, en la Gran Vía madrileña entre la Plaza de Callao y el edificio de Telefónica. “Había rivales muy fuertes. Ha sido una carrera muy difícil, de muy alto nivel, y esta victoria me da más confianza de cara a la Copa de Europa, a los Mundiales y a los Juegos Olímpicos de París 2024”, ha asegurado Fortunato en una entrevista realizada por la organización del evento, a cargo de la empresa G2O Publisport y que ha contado con la compañía española de fibra y móvil Finetwork como patrocinador principal, así como con el apoyo institucional de la Comunidad de Madrid y el Ayuntamiento de Madrid. Entregando las medallas en el podio de premiación se encontraban el viceconsejero de Deportes de la Comunidad de Madrid (CAM), Alberto Tomé; la directora general de Deportes del Ayuntamiento de Madrid, Alicia Martín; y la directora de marketing de Finetwork, Teresa Rivera. Doblete chino en categoría femenina En categoría femenina, la gran vencedora ha sido la china Jiayu Yang, campeona del mundo de 2017, con un tiempo de 43:20, por delante de su compatriota Quanming Wu (43:33) y de la mexicana Alegna González (43:35). La mejor española ha sido Antía Chamosa al entrar en la meta en novena posición (44:49). La prueba, encuadrada en el circuito World Athletics Race Walking Tour con la máxima categoría (Gold) y puntuable para el circuito de 20km marcha, ha sido retransmitida por la OTT de LaLiga —en abierto y de forma gratuita para todo el mundo— y ha contado con un cartel de auténtico lujo, merced a la presencia de otros marchadores de renombre internacional como son el sueco Perseus Karlström —vencedor de la primera edición disputada el 16 de mayo de 2022—, los italianos Massimo Stano y Antonella Palmisano —actuales campeones olímpicos de 20km marcha— o la griega Antigoni Ntrimspioti —doble campeona de Europa—, entre otros. En cuanto a la participación española, destacar nombres como los de Diego García Carrera –director técnico e ideólogo del Gran Premio Internacional Finetwork Madrid Marcha, Cita de Campeones–, y Raquel González, subcampeones de Europa de 20 y 35km, respectivamente, además de Laura García-Caro, Eva Rico y Marc Tur —cuarto en la prueba de 50km marcha de los últimos Juegos Olímpicos de Tokio 2020—, entre otros. Además de la prueba absoluta, el II Gran Premio Internacional Finetwork Madrid Marcha, Cita de Campeones, ha contado con la disputa de otras dos carreras. En la primera de ellas, la de 3km en categoría sub-14 y sub-16, participaron 64 deportistas y los triunfadores fueron Paula Elvira Moreno (sub-14 femenino), Pablo Salinas Ortega (sub-14 masculino), Claudia Mier Mardomingo (sub-16 femenino) y Gabriel González Pérez (sub-16 masculino). En la segunda, la de 5km en categorías sub-18 y sub-20 (9:30), participaron 35 deportistas, con Aldara Meilan García (sub-18 femenino), Miguel Espinosa Olivares (sub-18 masculino), Lydia Ballesteros Garrote (sub-20 femenino), Javier de Arriba Castilla (sub-20 masculino) como ganadores en sus distintas categorías.
