Darkness finds; 2022.

@postpunkindustrial has become one of the most thorough and present accounts on here. In fact, @womenofnoise declared him one of three parts of The Unholy Trinity. He's posted many finds from industrial, breakcore, new wave, goth rock, no-wave, experimental sounds, and also hip-hop. He's also one of the most generous, too. From time to time he'll open some releases for download to all of his followers and passers-by to grab.

One good thing about underground and obscure musicks is that once you feel you've heard it all, there's always something that's you've either overlooked or didn't know existed. If you had before, at least you're relieved to know that someone else has also been where you came from. And if not? That's a chance to explore some news sounds and appreciate the ones you've already had.

Here's only a few of many grabs that's available, including new ones I came across as I revisited last year's finds. These are all coming into play as I attempt to come back and reach for many purchases in my possession I've yet to listen to.

I hate how fandom has become "if you haven't created anything in this very specific time frame after the release of the show/movie, everyone will have moved on"

And call me old fashioned, but that's just not me. I sometimes take ages to create and publish. And I will love a show or movie for such a long time (years, babes, years) that I just can't relate to the fast consumerism that's going on.

Because, let's be real, it can get really lonely in a fandom if most have simply moved on to the next shiny thing. Is what's created less worth, just because it was created outside the hype? Why is it such a taboo for this new fandom generation to love an old or "late" fic or art?

It's so tiring and I'm too old for the 30-seconds-hype-tiktok-shit. Just tired. So, so tired.

Squid: “Houseplants” (2019)

Omega WUSB has played Squid five times in the past twelve months, and “Houseplants” wasn’t one of them. The moment we heard lead vocalist Ollie Judge went off-the-fucking-edge insane was the moment we realized we fucked up. Building up a momentum via late-Seventies punk, no-wave, today’s post-punk and an undisclosed amount of milligrams of restless crazed energy, “Houseplants” is one hell of a racket. It says a lot when Judge’s manic off-the-wall energy conveys the craziness of hamster-wheel ambition and chasing the American dream of life stability and security. Talking Heads’ “Once In A Lifetime” (’80) it sure isn’t as it’s not referencing success but rather losing it in a generation that has everything going against it (”this is my beautiful house and I can't afford to live in it”). They also throw in XTC (”we're still making plans for Nigel“) as a monkey wrench that makes today’s generation wonder how they missed living in yesteryear’s simplicity and safe haven. The rest of the gang contributes to the busy vitality of hustle-and-bustle with raving post-punk sounds of today and no-wave brass that goes both ways non-stop without any regard for red lights or signs posted. See that you’ll be in this one for the long-haul.
