Drama doméstico iraniano, em que um casal de actores é obrigado a mudar de casa por uma construção ter causado danos à antiga residência, sendo a antiga titular da nova residência uma prostituta. Uma ocasião a mulher abre a porta do prédio pensando que era o marido que ia entrar e acaba por ser agredida e violada. O marido não se conforma com o sucedido e procura encontrar o criminoso sem o tornar um caso de polícia. Uma carrinha torna-se a única pista para o encontrar. Depois de descoberto, o homem não corresponde ao estereótipo, casado à 35 anos, de alguma idade e lassivo. Deste encontro acaba por ter sintomas de uma paragem cardíaca, e a mulher violada pede para omitir à sua famíla.

The irony here is that in many ways The Salesman is as critical of the Islamic Republic of Iran as its director's action was of the United States. On the surface, The Salesman is a well-made domestic drama about the stress put on the marriage of Rana (Taraneh Alidoosti) and Emad (Shahab Hosseini) after Rana is assaulted in their own home. It's also a bit of a whodunit, as Emad tries to uncover the identity of the attacker, as well as a problem drama about the nature of revenge. But context is everything, and the context here is a country that seems to be as unstable as the condemned apartment house that Rana and Emad have to flee at the beginning of the film. Throughout The Salesman, the niggling pressures of a state determined to police the private lives of its citizens keep revealing themselves: The production of Arthur Miller's Death of a Salesman in which Emad and Rana play Willy and Linda Loman is subject to last-minute cuts demanded by the censors. The class Emad teaches is interrupted by a man telling him that the books he has selected have not been approved -- Emad wearily tells him to throw them in the trash. Worst of all, Rana refuses to trust the police to handle her case, knowing that she'd be subjected to interrogation and public exposure worse than the attack itself. We never learn the full details of what happened to her, whether she was sexually assaulted or just subjected to a terrifying visit from a voyeur -- although the latter, especially in a state that prescribes rigorous standards of modesty from women, is an equivalent violation. We get a hint of the tensions and mistrust between the sexes in Iran in a scene in which Emad shares a taxi with one of his male students and a woman, who first accuses him of what we'd call "manspreading," and then asks to change seats with the student. Afterward, when Emad proclaims his innocence, the student tells him that the woman had probably been molested by a man during a cab ride and is oversensitive to any contact. Official standards of behavior have eroded community standards: Although the apartment Rana and Emad have moved into was once occupied by a prostitute, a profession both strictly illegal and widespread in Iran, the neighbors only gossiped about her, never notifying the authorities. Emad's vigilantism when he discovers the identity of Rana's attacker is the product of a system of justice that has broken down. That Rana and Emad are actors is suggestive: In the film's vision of Iran, everyone is playing a part, concealing their real selves. The social and political subtext is what makes The Salesman a more fascinating and important film than its mere plot, well-handled as it is, would suggest.

Çok sevdiğim yönetmen Majid Majidi’nin yapımı olan Hz. Muhammed: Allah’ın Elçisi filmi her ne kadar onun filmlerinde alışık olduğumuz tarzın çok uzağında da olsa İslam ve Hz. Muhammed’in hayatını anlatan önemli eserler arasında yerini bulalı tam 5 yıl olmuş. Bu konuda çekilmiş en iyi film olan Çağrı dışında pek fazla bir eser verilemediği de göz önüne alındığında bu film de Hz. Muhammed’in hayatını ve İslam’ın doğuşunu konu alan eserler arasında şüphesiz ki önemli bir yer edinmiştir.
Benim gördüğüm kadarıyla filmde Sünni kaynaklarda yer almayan bir çok olay ve mucize gerçekleşmekte.  Bunlar tahminimce Şii kaynaklarda yer alan hadiseler diye düşünüyorum. Peygamberin hayatına dair kendi şahsi inanç, anlayış ve görüşüm dışında olduğunu düşündüğüm bir çok olay ve durumun filmde yer aldığı gerçeğinin yanısıra bu filmin İslam’ın tarihine dair önemli bir yapıt olduğunu tekrar edeyim. Ayrıca Şii anlayışına dair kısmen de olsa fikir edindirici bilgiler içerdiği söylenebilir.
Son olarak yukarıdaki kare gibi filmde çok güzel görsel şölen niteliğinde kesitlerin olması etkileyiciydi. Ancak Fil Vak’asındaki görsel efektleri biraz acemice bulduğumu da ekleyeyim.

Asghar Farhadi’s movies lure viewers into competing sympathies with intractably opposed positions. Whenever our biases tilt toward one character, new twists force us to recalibrate them. The Salesman reprises this knack for moral quandary, using a meta-theatrical premise to interrogate what it means to identify with someone, or to project roles upon them.
Emad (Shahab Hosseini, who won Best Actor at Cannes) and his wife Rana (Taraneh Alidoosti, tremendous) are starring in a production of Death of a Salesman while settling into a new apartment. One night while Emad is out, Rana is assaulted by an intruder she accidentally allows inside. She either cannot recall or cannot admit key details of what transpired. Enraged by his wife’s suffering but unable to inhabit her perspective, Emad takes a page from Hugh Jackman’s script in Prisoners, tracking specific culprits while liberally distributing blame.
In a rich irony, the likeliest suspect mirrors Willy Loman in many respects. Can Emad respect the humanity in the kind of incoherent man, dishonorable yet pitiable, he labors to convey onstage? How do specters of imagined women inform men’s conflicts with each other—and will the needs and viewpoints of actual women survive those escalating rivalries? Bruising but elegant, conceptually intricate within a street-realist style, The Salesman asks through its final shots: when we stare at each other, do we see each other, or only ourselves?
