#Mordelle Blogs
Note
Hello!! Recently I rewatched good omens and your blog has been godsent!! Do you have any fic recommendations where gabriel (and maybe the rest of the archangels too, but mostly gabriel) feels bad that he was an asshole and tries to apologize to aziraphale? Maybe with aziraphale feeling distrustful towards him and crowley playing the middle man because he doesn't want aziraphale to be completely cut out of heaven! But if that's too specific anything with gabriel apologizing is alright!!
Hi! We have some Gabriel redemption fics here, and I’ve got a couple more for you now...
how do you solve a problem like aziraphale? by lilibetpride (T)
Gabriel was having a headache.
One may ask themselves: ‘do angels even have brains? You can’t have headaches if you don’t have a brain!' Angels do not have brains, but they do have stress.
Or, quarantine doesn't only affect humans.
The Right Thing by olly_octopus (NR)
Crowley’s been kind of minding his own business since that whole nasty affair with heaven and hell trying to execute him and his angel. (It’s probably for the best.) That is, until the Archangel Michael arrives on his doorstep with trembling hands and an apology on her lips and yes, alright, you can have the spare bedroom until your head’s in the right place.
One by one, all four angels find their way into Crowley’s flat and then, one by one, fall in love with humanity the same way Aziraphale and Crowley did 6000 years ago.
(A tale of love, forgiveness, London Pride and the choices one makes. Also, a tale about how the Archangels Michael and Gabriel accidentally became the patron saints of gay culture overnight. Whoops?)
Truth Serum, Kidnapping, and a Garden! Oh My! by animefan021513 (T)
Aziraphale is a bit shaken by the place that Crowley created when he stopped time. So, logically, he gives Crowley a truth serum specially made for beings like him and Crowley to draw the truth out about that place. Soon, they find out that Gabriel is kidnapped by demons and needs their help. What truths will be revealed about Crowley? Who was he before he fell? What will his memories reveal when TESTED for REDEMPTION!? What will Aziraphale find out about some things he mysteriously doesn't remember? Will this whole thing affect their friendship? Why is Gabriel being nice now? READ AND FIND OUT! :) (Based mainly on the show)
Bless the Fallen by mordelle (E)
After Crowley's presumed destruction, Aziraphale is recruited by Beelzebub and the rebels to Fall so that he may reap his vengeance on Lucifer and end his own misery in the process. But before he can get into Satan's inner circle to do the deed, he must pass a test that may very well change where his loyalties lie.
Mind the tags on that last one!

No = 1 Step Closer to YES
As most of you know, I'm looking into getting traditionally published this time around for my book The Bookshop Around the Corner. The first step is looking for literary representation or a publisher that accepts manuscripts from unrepresented authors.
I've got 12 years of working as an actor under my belt, so believe me when I say I know rejection. You win some, you lose some. That's just how it is and the sooner one accepts that the saner one stays in the face of almost constant dismissal.
So, I am ready for rejection letters, in fact, I expect them. It's not a bad thing because every NO is one step closer to a YES.
It sometimes takes years to find representation, especially good representation. Then it could take more years of landing a good role or in my case now, getting published.
So, I propose an experiment and a challenge for myself.
I want to re-blog this post every time I get a rejection with a screenshot and everything. I'll block out the names of the agents, but I want everyone to see the real rejection letters and... feel my pain. 🙂
No, all joking aside, I think this will make other authors feel like they are not alone and they should keep trying. Plus, I'm wondering how many it will take, you know?
So, here it goes! My first rejection letter.

The CEOs
Welcome back to my blog again! Like always I hope everyone is safe and healthy. For this week’s blog, we will be talking about how many CEOS are worried about their business and that Covid19 is a THREAT to them.
Before we get started here are some Key Terms:
CEOs:  A CEO stands for Chief Executive Officer. A CEO is at the top and is at the highest-ranking position in a company and is responsible for making big decisions.
YPOs: It is an organization that is a global leader that has more than 29,000 Ceos in 130 Countries.
Aerospace and Aviation: Aerospace is an engineering effort to fly in the atmosphere of the air and surrounding space. Aviation is development, design, and an operation that is used in aircraft.
Wholesale and retail sales: Wholesales is the sale of goods between the wholesaler and the retailer in big quantities. Retail sale is the sale of goods between the retailer and the consumer in small quantities.
This article is from CNBS... The link to the article would be attached to the first question
So what's the deal?
Over half of chief executives around the world believe coronavirus is a significant threat to their business, but worse, 11% fear their business won’t survive the resulting economic downturn.
Business closures amid the pandemic have sent unemployment claims soaring to record levels, almost completely wiping out the 22 million jobs gained since the Great Recession. New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo said Tuesday that the state’s unemployment system “collapsed” due to the surge in claims.
NOTE:   Ceos across the country are worried about COVID 19 and sees it as a threat to their business and the way they are running. The pandemic has caused many worries since many businesses had to close and shutdown. Employment has been a big problem for businesses.
What is the data?
In all, 84% of respondents to the April survey said the business outlook is more dire than it was on March 1, when there were less than 500 confirmed cases of coronavirus in the U.S., according to the CDC.
The hospitality and restaurant sector appears to be the most vulnerable industry, with 41% of CEOs saying their business might not survive the crisis. Thirty percent of leaders in aerospace and aviation, 19% in wholesale and retail sales and 19% in education said their business is at risk of failure.
Sixty-one percent of executives indicated the economy will follow a U-shaped recovery curve, which represents a sharp recession with a prolonged recovery; 22% anticipate a W-shaped curve, or a double-dip recovery.
NOTE: The hospitality and restaurants have it bad than other businesses. They are worried that their business are not going to survive this pandemic. Many sales are going down and there are risk of failure in many businesses.
THE YPO?
The YPO survey found 64% of executives anticipating lower revenue continuing at least one year from now; 16% believe their revenues will actually be higher. Forty-three percent of CEOs expect revenue to be down by more than 20% in a year — executives in the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia regions are most likely to predict a larger decrease.
NOTE: The revenue is expected go down a lot in the next year. Which is why they see COVID 19 as a threat that can cause their business to fail.
LASTLY,
Mordell said that while the pandemic is having an alarmingly negative impact right now, it will stand as a momentous point in history and impact global life and business forever.
“I think it’s one of the most incredible experiments humankind has ever done,” said Mordell, “and we shouldn’t lose sight of that.”
NOTE: Covid is giving a hard time to many businesses. It has given so many problems and an negative impact. It has had a huge impact and causes many businesses to be worried.
In conclusion, Many businesses are still being affected during this pandemic. The only ones that are still doing good are essentials businesses and if you aren’t an essential business you aren’t allowed to operate. But many businesses and companies are really struggling even the successful ones
BIG QUESTIONS:
But why are they worried?
They are worried because many sales and venues have had gone down and are expected to go down more than 20% in the next year and can cause many loses. There’s not a Guaranteed that small or big business are gonna make it. There can be lots of business loss which will cause failure ti many business which worries.
What are the concerns?
The concerns are :
Businesses failing and having to close due to no sales happening. The CEOs are worried about their companies and businesses not making it through out this pandemic with lots of losses.
INTERVIEW:
we are interviewing my mother, Maria, she works with Another woman and works for the Company Pike Enterprise that my cousin is in charge of. She cleans houses other schools and offices.
QUESTIONS:
#1 How has Covid-19 affect the way you work?
“There is not as much work for me or the company at the moment. In the first few weeks in the Company there were lots of request for disaffecting the offices and schools. My personal work has slowed down completely but in a few days I wll be able to have my personal job cleaning on my own.”
#2 Whats was an obstacle to your essential job?
A obstacle would be not as much work in my own personal job but there has been a high demand for disinfectant but the supply was low.
#3 Are you benefiting from this pandemic?
In some ways i have. I had lots of work with the company at first but later on has gone down.
#6 How is your day looking at this moment?
Slowly have gotten some houses back to work at with my partner. And I go to work at those houses when they need my assistance. Im working kinda i did before this whole pandemic have started.
That is all for this weeks blog! Ill see next time!

Self-publishing is a Pain In The Ass.
So why did I do it?
There were several factors that lead me to self-publish. Searlus and the Sailor was my first “original novel” and it is a Beauty and the Beast retelling. There are tons of those. I didn’t think agents or publishers would be very interested in another retelling. Especially one where the Beast stays a beast. It’s a bit… taboo. Erotic Monster Romances, ya know? Hard to swallow. Appeals to a very specific niche.
Even if Belle is a bi-sexual genderqueer sailor in my version, I didn’t think that would make me stand out very much.
I tried anyway. I submitted my query to a handful of agents, which is not enough, and got my rejection letters–as expected. Being an actor for a dozen years, the rejection didn’t bother me. I know it’s part of the process.
But I have always been known to have very little patience. So, I dove into researching everything I could about self-publishing and boy did I learn a lot. I don’t regret it. Plus, I have very little accomplishments in the way of writing since my entire career has been mostly acting related. I thought that getting a nice chunk of good reviews would add to my “resume” whenever I decided to look for representation.
Self-publishing has a lot of pros and cons but my biggest hurdle was the marketing.
As an actor, even with a good agent, you have to market yourself. It’s always been my weakness, and it’s because I just don’t like it! I despise the “game” and it’s one of the reasons I put on camera acting behind me and just stuck with non-union voiceover work. I love acting. I love filmmaking. But pursuing it professionally has very little to do with talent. It’s eighty percent hustle and ten percent actually doing what you love.
Writing makes me happy, but the hustle of self-publishing is just as draining. I didn’t start writing to put myself back in the same hustle.
I’ve already started querying literary agents for my next novel. My goal is to get traditionally published this time around. It may take years, who knows.
There is only one way to find out!
What would you have done in my shoes? Drop it in the comments!

The Cover Design Process for Searlus and the Sailor
The first cover of Searlus and the Sailor. Because this book was my first foray into self-publishing, I had a tiny budget. So, I went to Fiverr.com. I’m a Fiverr seller myself. I offer voiceover services as a Top Rated Voice Actor.
Now, Fiverr has a vast and versatile pool of talent that ranges from Level One to Top Rated. I searched for a Top-Rated book cover designer. I read the reviews. The biggest complaint was that the seller had a habit of pushing back their delivery deadlines. I thought to myself, “Well, I don’t really care how long it takes as long as it’s stellar!” And I really liked their samples. So I ordered. Cost me a hundred bucks, give or take.
And good god! They took forever.
Tumblr media
After some back and forth, they redesigned Belle and other little things I specifically requested. This was the final version of the first cover.
Once I was selected by Amazon to join the Hardcover beta project they wanted to launch, I decided a new cover was in order.
I went back to fiverr.com and hired the same guys.
And below is what they sent...
Tumblr media
What on earth...?
So, I hired another guy who was a bit more expensive. Below was the first draft...
Tumblr media
Eh... well... I obviously asked for changes. Very specific changes and sent references.
Take two!
Tumblr media
At this point, I took it into my own hands. I said to myself “Okaaay, I deal with the clown sleeves and can probably put this in Procreate and make the changes myself!” Now, I’m a self-taught artist hobbyist. I’m no art genius. Definitely waaaay better artists out there.
Here is the final result of the second cover of Searlus and the Sailor after I spent days figuring out how to blend my changes in...
Tumblr media
Is it exactly what I wanted? Nope. But I think it looks way better! Just my opinion.
What do you think? Which cover attempt is your favorite? What would you have changed? I’d love to know!
