ok so. today i am going to
fly (and travel at all) by myself for the first time since making the emergency return home from br!ghton bc of c0vid 4 years ago (extremely distressing and scary experience). and fly by myself two weeks after a mixed bag of a conference experience / plane ride home that included a massive scary depressive spiral that i had someone there to help me through as much as they could but it wasn’t enough which was absolutely not their fault but was deeply distressing to me at the time. so im about to be in a very similar environment but this time that person won’t be physically with me and it’s going to wreck my brain in multiple directions in part bc i have not yet recovered from the depressive spiral. i am still in it. lawl <3
ride in an uber by myself for the first time. ride in an uber at all for maybe the 5th time. as a very short young woman. which i have been expressedly warned by my parents not to do. lol <3
check into a hotel by myself for the first time
walk in a big city by myself for the first time (technically slightly untrue bc wjen i was last in ch!cago 5 years ago i did power walk from the hotel to the conference venue (like a block away) on the last day bc i was pissed about a situation but that was like… a block and i saw ppl i knew walking in that area. this time i will be in the same city and know no one at least for today
give myself a self care evening at the recommendation of my therapist…. for the first time. (maybe after i take a walk which i will do specifically when it’s still light out to see what the area is like). tonight no one i know will be in ch!cago yet and i have no plans to do anything. im going to play video games and draw and sing and give myself space and time to just enjoy being by myself and see how it goes

Realized I had done little-to-nothing with Cadance and Co., so here’s a quick summary: Cadance was a pegasus before ascending, she and Shining are foalhood sweethearts who are sappy dorks to this day, they rehabilitated/adopted Cozy Glow and have one other child, Flurry Heart (who was born a pegasus because.)
Cozy Glow grows up to be a brilliant tactician, assisting Shining Armor with military stuff and cheerfully owning Flurry at strategy games. Flurry is a bit of a thembo: energetic and kind, though none-too-bright, but nevertheless aware of the citizens’ whispers about how neither they nor their sister are “fitting heirs.” They don’t let it bother them, instead spending their time spreading cheer with fun wintery magic and surprisingly in-depth knowledge of history.

i hate every time tom k!ng writes eddie. i hate how he made eddie a rich boy with a father who expected more from him. like no no no no no no. that's opposite of what eddie's backstory has been. (a poor kid with a father who expected less from him.) and it boooores me. eddie being a poor kid with hating parents contrasts well with his enemy, bruce being a rich kid with loving parents. eddie should be a victim of poverty. eddie should be a victim of a town and its politics that has failed him. don't make him a rich kid backstory ffs.
also tom k!ng gave him the momma that couldn't be in his life because of couuuuuuuurse we can't have a mother that's also present and abusive. noooo. she's either gotta be Dead, Also Abused, or Not There. women being capable of evil is a myth /sarcasm

Fall/Winter 2022 Anticipated Book Releases
I promised earlier in the year that I would do a latter half of the year version of my anticipated releases post because releases for August-December hadn't been released yet. Since I'm still not completely well versed in new releases, I comb through Goodreads to find out what's coming out later this year.
Carrie Soto Is Back by Taylor Jenkins Reid | August 30th | Goodreads
I have yet two read either of the two TJR books sitting on my shelf, but I've also never heard anything bad about her writing. I've read very few books about sports and athletes (maybe three total), and I'd love to see how such a beloved profession is handled in a fiction setting. She's done it before, let's see if she can do it again.
A Merry Little Meet Cute by Julie Murphy and Sierra Simone | Septemeber 20 | Goodreads
I enjoyed Julie Murphy's writing in Dumplin' and I want to see what it's like as an adult novel. The plot of this sounds so fun and actually brilliant, I hope it's steamy despite it's cutesy cover. Also taking place during Christmas time makes the wintery season exciting. Seeing a concept like OnlyFans in a novel is so intriguing.
Our Missing Hearts by Celeste Ng | October 4th | Goodreads
If anyone is going to write a tale about family, it's going to be Celeste Ng. It has been about two years since I last read one of her novels and I think I'm ready for another. Before, when I read two in less than six months, I feel that I didn't appreciate the second as much because the writing style was the same although the plot was completely different. Maybe with time this one will be just as brilliant.
Poster Girl by Veronica Roth | October 18th | Goodreads
I have now read two Veronica Roth Young Adult series in my life but far enough apart that they felt like they were written by completely different people. With her venturing into adult (I'm not sure if for the first time), I want to see how her writing has grown again. I don't read much dystopian anymore, but I will for her.
The World We Make (Great Cities #2) by N. K. Jemisin | November 3rd | Goodreads
Now this one I have real stakes in reading! I really enjoyed the first book in this series (that I'm not sure how long it's going to be), but I know we had a huge open gap in the plot that I want to see continued. This world is so expansive and, although it's fiction, really makes you think about the world around you and what is alive and what isn't.

Watch: Noel Gallagher and the High Flying Birds at Abbey Road
Back in July, Noel and the group were due for a few tasks at the famous Fab Four studio, Abbey Road. While there, they filmed the music video for the single, "Open the Door, See What You Find".
Two and possibly more performances were also recorded, which are below:
Going Nowhere
The Masterplan
Noel was also interviewed for his time there at the studio. Which you can also check out here.
The performance and interview are inadvertently in recognition for the release of repackaged, remastered and re-released B-sides compilation, THE MASTERPLAN which recently celebrated its 25th anniversary.
You can purchase the 25th anniversary reissue of THE MASTERPLAN here.
