How did Gabriel meet the Graves brothers and what convinced him to take care of them?

I was gonna draw this but I’m tired so- text pooossstttt + Gabriel backstory! Yayyyyyy

Ashley and Andrew alternated between sleeping at motels and in the hitman’s car. They ended up parking it in a lot just a building from where Gabe works. He spotted them one day and decided to bring them food while on his lunch break, both are…noticeably confused but grateful for the free food.

This continues for a week, Gabriel brings them food, makes as much polite conversation as they’ll allow before he heads back to work.

The sob story they gave him was that they’re parents kicked them out, so now they’re on their own- which only made Gabriel more helpful as he’s been in their situation (living out of his car cause parents kicked him to the curb).

Ashley sees this as an absolute win, while Andrew is cautious and kind of just wants to leave already. Ashley doesn’t want to though,

“Andrew, look! He’s giving us free food and believed everything we told him! I’m sure we can get some more use out of him before we go…”

“Ashley- no.”

“Ugh! Come on! Let’s just offer this schmuck to the demon, have a tasty meal, grab some valuables and we’ll be on our way! Come on, he has no family who will bother looking for him, this is perfect!”

Aaannndddd because this is Decay!Andrew, he folds and goes with Ashley’s plans. They ask Gabriel is they can freshen up at his place, and he accepts. He brings them to his place and talks with Ashley while Andrew is showering. The topic of their families comes up—

“Probably should’ve seen it coming though, the cunt never liked me.”

“Ugh- don’t I know it. Cept it was a dick who didn’t like me instead of a cunt.”

“Awww, maybe they’ll meet in hell. Talk shit about the freaks they spawned.”

“Hahaha! Maybe!”

They bond over how they’re their parents own respective freaks, Ashley venting a lot about the neglect and clear favoritism. It felt good in all honesty. She almost felt bad they were going to kill him.

And Gabe’s unconditional kindness and empathy were what made that feeling grow until Ashley started questioning whether they should kill him or not. They didn’t. Even after they stayed the night. And the next night. And the night after that. They just never left

And Ashley kept chickening out of killing him.

#ffxiv #ooc #they weren't kidding that mmo's have really changed in 15 years #the game itself gets better and resembles a mmo less #but at the same time no longer relies so much on socializing that it's not a priority #but given the way it's built it removes about 40% enjoyability if you don't find friends #however. it's much harder nowadays imo to build a solid group #since you can be a stranger and stay a stranger #and ffxiv is easily done solo #it's a double edged sword. so groups are flimsy #this fc was honestly really nice but everyone was so shy/up in their own schedule #and a lot of fcs just. don't do much and let it peter out #ffxiv doesn't have a lot of survivability once you finish the patch
