DRDT X BSD AU !!

General info/idea;

Funded by Fitzgerald and the guild, Hopes peak gets an all-expenses-paid trip to Yokohama for 3 months. Where our DRDT class manages to get an internship under the ADA, being mentored by each member themselves! Mostly in Duos, our ultimates get to see the gifted work in action. While overseeing, they may even witness some

Underground crime and try to stop it themselves. Who knows? I surely don’t!

(This would take place after s2, early s3. Around right after Lucy started working for the coffee bro)

How were the groups Chosen?

Initially, it’s a lottery on who goes to who. However, this is altered if an ultimate or Detective makes a specific request.

If a Detective were to request for an Ultimate to be under them, if the ultimate is in the lottery then it’s automatic. If they requested someone else, then they get a choice between their own request or the person who requested them.

When an ultimate requests to be under a detective, that request is automatic if nobody has already requested them.

Group ideas/ who might be under who

Dazai w/ David & Veronika

[Upon first meeting, Dazai could tell something was up about David. He seemed off, and he was constantly lying. He didn’t mean any words he said. And when he caught glimpses of David when no one was looking, he reminded him of a certain someone. So when given the option, he decided to request David be put with him. David knows Dazai is on to him, so this proved to be an annoyance. Meanwhile, Veronika was able to notice something was up with Dazai, considering his humor and the way he seemed so relaxed it could slightly be off. She thought he seemed familiar. Similar to a certain…demon that is rumored around here. So, she applied to be mentored under him.]

Yosano w/ Teruko & Arei

[Yosano was assigned with Teruko due to her overload of bad luck, resulting in injuries to herself or others. It was a safety precaution, as none of the ADA wanted to be responsible for the death of an ultimate student. While Arei was a lottery choice, her and Yosano grew to be quick friends. The two commonly gossiping about members of the ADA or ultimates in hopes peak.]

Kunikida w/ Min

[Suprisingly, both requested each other. Min, when doing the viewing deduced that Kunikida seemed to be the most similar to her in priorities wise. She could possibly learn from his ideals and seemed to be the person to take missions the most seriously. Kunikida could see that Min was focused, taking notes, and would pay attention when or if he was trying to relay information to her.]

Atsushi w/ Nico & J

[Both were a result of the raffle. Nico grew interest in Atsushi’s ability, and how it necessarily affects his senses. J has respect for Atsushi as for how he doesn’t brag or such even if he is extremely strong.]

Kenji w/ Xander & Eden

[Eden and Kenji were quick to become friends, having similar motivations. They were very cheery and just enjoyed each others company. Xander specifically requested to be out with Kenji, seeing how kind hearted the boy is. Xander wants to make sure he doesn’t get hurt fatally if Yosano isn’t around. Kenji also finds it interesting how Xander is stronger than most ultimates without a gift, with his strength being similar to a gifted with a combat ability. (Even if it isn’t Kenji’s level of strength)]

Ranpo w/ Whit

[Raffle; The two’s jokes bounce off each other and they tend to generally amuse each other. And Whit gets along with Poe.]

Storia Di Musica #262 - The Alan Parsons Project - Tales Of Mystery And Imagination Edgar Allan Poe, 1976

La seconda storia di dischi letterari si lega a doppio filo con quella dei Pink Floyd, Storia #261. C’è una storia di grande passione per la musica: a 16 anni, per un piccolo lavoro part-time, Alan Parsons lavora al magazzino duplicazione nastri della EMI a West London. Si mette subito in mostra per l’abilità e per la dedizione, tanto che già l’anno successivo è mandato agli studi di Abbey Road, dove cura i master di niente di meno che Sgt.Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band dei Beatles. George Martin, che era uno sveglio, lo nota e lo vuole a suo fianco come ingegnere del suono per le registrazioni di Let It Be e di Abbey Road: Parsons tra l’altro è l’assistente di studio del leggendario concerto improvvisato sul tetto degli studi di registrazione, ed è lì con i Fab Four nel loro “commiato” come gruppo. Diviene uno degli ingegneri capo degli Abbey Road Studios: lavora a capolavori come All Things Must Pass di George Harrison e McCartney di Paul, ed inizia una piccola collaborazione con i Pink Floyd, prima con alcune registrazioni di Ummagumma e Meddle, poi a dirigere le estenuanti e intensissime sessioni per The Dark Side Of The Moon (che durarono oltre 6 mesi, più 3 di post produzione), il cui successo clamoroso farà di Parsons un nome di qualità per l’ingegnerizzazione del suono. Produce infatti moltissimi artisti emergenti e non, tra cui Ambrosia, The Hollies, John Miles e i primi dischi, di grande successo, di Al Steward (inclusi i due più famosi, Time Passages e Year Of The Cat). Nel 1975 ha l’idea di fondare un suo gruppo: lui cura tutta la parte musicale e di produzione, Eric Woolfson quella di scrittura, Andrew Powell le orchestrazioni e gli arrangiamenti, chiamando di volta in volta il meglio dei sessionisti e di cantanti a lui cari, che casomai in quel periodo stavano lavorando con lui. La musica de The Alan Parsons Project si inserisce nel filone del pop rock sinfonico, che stava nascendo in quegli anni con grande successo dalle braci meno ardenti del prog, con largo uso delle tastiere elettroniche, orchestrazioni imponenti, atmosfere barocche e massicce, con testi che pescano anche riferimenti altisonanti. Infatti i primi lavori sono concept album che si ispirano a cose niente affatto scontate. il disco che ho preso in considerazione oggi è il loro primo Lp, Tales Of Mystery And Imagination (1976) che si ispira alla omonima raccolta di racconti del grande Edgar Allan Poe. Il lavoro di Poe è stato uno dei riferimenti letterari più utilizzati nel corso del tempo nella musica rock e non solo: un esperimento simile lo fece Lou Reed con The Raven, il suo ultimo album da solista del 2002, che si ispira in parte ai racconti dello scrittore americano, ma non ha l’organicità del lavoro della Alan Parsons Project. Che infatti oltre a nominare i 7 dischi utilizzando il titolo di racconti di Poe, ne segue anche la trama, con Woolfson che spesso utilizza intere frasi dei racconti come testo. C’è anche un grande plus: durante le registrazioni del 1976, Parsons chiama Orson Welles a recitare alcuni passi da inserire nel disco come prologo alle musiche: tuttavia nella prima edizione del 1976 non compaiono, e vengono rispristinate solo nella ristampa del 1987, curata nella rimasterizzazione dei nastri originali dallo stesso Parsons. Welles legge prima di A Dream Within A Dream', il primo brano strumentale, un oscuro pezzo di saggistica di Poe, il numero XVI dei suoi Marginalia pubblicato tra il 1845 ed il 1849. Il secondo passaggio che Welles legge precede il brano The Fall Of The House Of Usher - Prelude, ed è una parafrasi parziale dalla saggistica di Poe, presa da una raccolta. Il brano che prende spunto da Il Crollo Di Casa Usher è una lunga suite in 5 parti (Prelude, Arrival, Intermezzo, Pavane, Fall), è il clou del disco, che però offre anche altre cose interessanti: in The Raven Alan Parsons divide il canto con Leonard Whiting, recentemente ritornato alla ribalta, poichè oltre che cantante fu anche attore principale del Romeo E Giulietta di Franco Zeffirelli, accusando dopo 5 decenni gli eredi del regista di “violenza psicologica” per le scene di nudo di quella pellicola; The Tell-Tale Heart vede come protagonista vocale Arthur Brown, leader della band The Crazy World of Arthur Brown, il quale diventerà famoso per le esibizioni con il fuoco durante i suoi show, più l’apporto ai cori di Jack Harris, che diventerà fido collaboratore negli anni dell’ APP; The Cask Of Amontillado e (The System of) Dr. Tarr And Professor Fether (tra l’altro due tra i racconti più belli di Poe) hanno la voce di John Miles, mentre To One In Paradise quella di Terry Sylvester degli Hollies, la band che Parsons contribuì a lanciare definitivamente. Partecipano alle registrazioni anche gli Ambrosia e i Pilot, altri gruppi curati da Alan Parsons. Che nel mentre si registrava il disco, ebbe anche tempo di lavorare a Tubular Bells di Mike Oldfield. Parsons usa anche uno dei primi vocoder (la sua voce modificata in The Raven per esempio) e nella suite The Fall Of The House Of Usher si rifà nientemeno che a Debussy, il quale nel 1908 scrisse una La Chute De La maison Usher ispirandosi egli stesso al racconto di Poe. Il disco ha anche una copertina particolarissima disegnata dai geni della Hipgnosis: tutta verde, ha una striscia luminosa che fa intravedere l’ombra di un uomo, la striscia continua sul retro dove c’è il disegno di due uomini bendati come mummie in un paesaggio che sembra egiziano, idea che vuole trasmettere uno dei punti chiave della narrativa di Poe, l’essere bloccati o sepolti vivi (nel racconto de Il Barile Di Amontillado, è uno dei temi principali per esempio). Il disco uscirà con le migliori recensioni, e avrà successo in Europa (in Germania è uno dei dischi più venduti degli anni ‘70 in assoluto), Canada e Gran Bretagna. Il percorso di ispirazione letteraria continuerà anche nel secondo disco, I, Robot, del 1977, ispirato all’omonimo racconti di Isaac Asimov, che ebbe anch’esso notevole successo. Il percorso della Alan Parsons Project continuerà con numerosi dischi anche per tutti gli anni ‘80, dove ad una produzione musicale ancora più pomposa e sfarzosa si assocerà il tentativo di comunicare “messaggi concettuali”, come i messaggi astrali di Eye In The Sky (1982), dei pericoli della civiltà industriale di Ammonia Avenue (1984) o le oscure simbologie di Vulture Culture (1985).

Have you read the short story Norvell Page wrote as a wedding present for a Big Name Fan about Dick and Nita's first meeting? Any thoughts on it? My main is that Page does not go where you expect him to based on that description.

I did! Actually it was one of the first Spider stories I read. And yeah, to an extent, it's absolutely not what you'd expect from something set in The Spider's world. And on the other hand, it's absolutely what makes the most sense for these two characters. Because, yeah, Norvell Page could have done what he usually does, and written some over-the-top action where Dick and Nita happen to meet during it.

But no, that wouldn't work. Because, for all the turmoil and chaos in The Spider, for everything that he and Nita go through, there are many times when, sturdier even than Dick's resolve is their love for each other, the deep understanding and affection that carries them through hell itself time and time again.

And so, when it was time to showcase how such a romance started, Page wisely deviated from his usual narrative style, and instead told a very, very intimate and personal story, a long and extended conversation between the two, and more importantly, between Page and the reader. Between The Spider, and You, peering into The Spider through the eyes of Nita van Sloan.

I think for a start, it's an interesting coincidence that this meeting takes place on a cruise ship, and it involves Dick rescuing Nita from suicide. I say this because Margo Lane's first meeting with Lamont Cranston, in the pulps, was stated to have taken place on a cruise ship, and of course, the first time we see The Shadow in the pulps, he's rescuing Harry Vincent from suicide, and both Harry and Margo are The Shadow's main supporting characters. I'm not saying it was intentional, but it's an interesting fact. And more so because Dick doesn't really rescue Nita.

Her scarf whipped in the wind on deck, and it blinded her... and a hand touched her arm, and a voice spoke to her.

"If it's intentional, don't let me stop you," the voice said, "but you're heading straight for suicide."

Nita looked then at the stop toward which, blindly, she was going, and it was a chain barrier beyond which was the sea. And she looked at the man who had stopped her and it was Richard Wentworth. And his words had been a shock to her.

"You wouldn't try to dissuade me from suicide?" she asked.

Wentworth's brows were tilted whit a hint of mockery, but his eyes were very grave. "Every man is master of his own soul, and hence of his body," he said. "And your eyes are wide open and awake. So it would be a considered action. I'm not sure, under those circumstances, that I would have a right to meddle in another's business."

Nita said, "I think you can help me."

Wentworth shook his head. "Only you can help yourself," he said, "but it may be that someone else could help you find the way."

The whole text is a great example of how wonderfully realized of a character Nita van Sloan is in ways so unlike the typical pulp or superhero girlfriends at the time, because the text is written from her perspective, and half of the text reads like an extended character breakdown of who Nita is as a character and person. And the other half of the text is almost entirely comprised of Dick Wentworth spouting philosophy and talking in-depth about his reading of her and what's upsetting her, talking about God and fate and so on. And like so many other attempts to explore serious theological/psychological/philosophical/etc concepts explored through pulp fiction, half of it is bullshit, and half of it is fascinatingly disturbing and thought-provoking bullshit.

"Self-contempt," Wentworth's words were very quiet now. "Is second only to self-pity among the greater sins. Self-analysis is a dangersous thing. You need so much charity. And any person who is advanced enough to think about himself at all is apt to be over-stern in his judgment of himself."

He said to her, "If you don't honor youself, who will honor you?" And, a few moments later, "There is conceit in ruling others, but none in mastering yourself." And, "There is no arrogance so great as self-righteousness."

Nita clashed with him violently, "You are being self-righteous in judging me!"

Wentworth laughed. "I am speaking only truism. It is you who judge yourself, not I." He was serious, then. "My dear," he said, "I would be presumptuous to try to teach you. No man can teach another. But one who has been along that same trail would be less than a man if he failed to mark certain signposts and certain places where there is water to drink so that another, traveling that same road, may know where another struggled and what he has learned. But, as no man can travel a road for another, so no man can teach another. You must work out your own salvation."

"That sense of separation between the inner and outer self," Nita rushed on, "between yourself and the world ... while you were talking, I could almost feel that difference disappearing. The feeling is gone now, but ..."

"All progress is three steps forward and two back," Wentworth said, slowly, "and this is good because thus all ground is three-times covered and triply learned."

And I should probably clarify by this point that, it's not so much Dick Wentworth talking in this story, as it's Norvell Page himself. In fact, he admits as much in another letter he had sent to his readers that he was prone to talking philosophy by this point.

There was a time when the burden of writing just one more Spider seemed too much to undertake. (After all, the magazine is in it's ninth year!) But I never feel that way any more. I know now that the Spider actually does help people; that there are those who appreciate his idealism even though it is expressed in violence.

Especially in the last half dozen Spiders, beginning with the 100th I believe, I have tried very earnestly to teach a little of the philosophy and faith, of which we all need so much in these days.

Here's the thing about The Spider: It's not that the character is mad. Well, okay, he IS mad, I don't pull these over-the-top maniacal cartoon meme descriptions out of thin air, but that's because he lives in a batshit insane disaster horror world where there IS no sane response other than joining the carnage to overcome it. It's not just that Wentworth who is a madman. It's that Norvell Page was a mad man, and Dick Wentworth was Norvell's Page alter-ego, by the man's own admission.

Friends have informed me that I moved about the company as one in a trance: there were some who were concerned about my health, so oddly did I behave. Of course, only my body attended that occasion. My mind was entirely engrossed in Dick Wentworth's big problem - back in my study on a sheet of paper stuck in my typewriter

I did not dream that night; in the morning I restlessly paced my floor thinking, thinking, thinking. I sat down at the typewriter, stared at the words and the keys. Suddenly, as if by magic, Dick Wentworth seemed to move of his own volition. My hands raised, my fingers literally flew over the keyboard.

No matter how ridiculous it seems, I will always feel that Dick Wentworth, creature of my own fabrication, guided me through that tough scene.

No two people can live together without being influenced by each other to some extent. So constantly has Wentworth been in my mind, it is as if we were roommates - partners in everything.

Page has talked about how close of a connection he feels to the character, about many ways he's emulated his mannerisms, even some pretty embarassing anectodes where he claims to have "accidentally" used the character's "indomitable will" to scare waiters or drawing connections between The Spider's cast and real people he's met. Others who met him remarked that he talked of the "Spider" characters as though they were members of his family, or drinking companions.

Even before I got into The Spider, I had heard of rumors that he used to present or discuss stories in his office by putting on a cape and jumping from desk to desk, swinging a yard stick in his hand, and I can't find any source that confirms it, but I don't doubt it in the slightest. A lot of pulp writers had really weird lives, and Page was no exception. He was a journalist who frequently dug into his newspaper clippings for grisly stories to incorporate into narratives. I mean, just look at the dude's eyes, he's seen some shit.

When he was 3, his mother fell down a manhole while they were walking down a Chicago sidewalk. Norvell, terrified, thought she had dissappeared and never quite got over the experience.

When he was a little older, according to some family members, his parents had tickets for the Titanic and escaped disaster when Norvell begged them to cancel the trip for reasons unknown.

Norvell again played a hand in the family's escaping disaster when, one Christmas the family home caught on fire. Candles on the tree had been left burning. He quite arguably saved everyone's life. Waking first, he threw his mattress out of his window, grabbed his infant brother and sister and ran screaming through the hall as he went back to jump to safety. His screams woke his parents who then jumped to the mattress themselves.

Norvell lied about his age and experience to the Norfolk "Observer", claiming to have been writing for Richmond's "Times Dispatch" and was hired there.

His father managed Thomas Edison & Hugo Wurlitzer's ad accounts, and had always encouraged him to write, envisioning him as another Poe, whom his Great-Uncle had worked with as an editor

It is rumored that, in NYC, while at the "World Telegram", he became involved in fellow editor Varion Fry's effort to rescue artists and scientists from occupied Europe. President of the American Fiction Guild, he edited their newsletter for some time. Among his closest friends were fellow writers Ted Tinsley and L. Ron Hubbard and Surrealist painter Max Ernst.

WRITER'S REVIEW 35.08: Norvell W. Page, whose bloodthirsty Spider novels would do justice to Ghengis Khan, demonstrated his bloodlust the other day by accidentally killing a sparrow.

He wrote until 1943, when he abruptly stopped without warning. He dissappeared, for all intents and purposes, from both New York, the arts world and the pulp world for good.

His wife of 20 years, Audrey, had died and this, along with the U.S. involvment in WWII, led to his returning to VA where he would go on to be an intelligence worker in the Truman, Kennedy and Eisenhower Administrations.

He died suddenly of a heart attack in August of 1961.

Surviving family members do not know where he is buried.

I think this is a story that Page might have told differently had he written it earlier in his career, before he got tired, before he underwent his depression and loss of weight that caused him to briefly stop writing pulps all together, in a time period before the World War had cast an oppressive miasma on the world. In a time period where most of the horrifying nightmares he infused into the stories were really just that, nightmares, that he didn't live long enough to see turn into prophecies.

Because that's another thing about The Spider that makes the character more than just a batshit vigilante: As over-the-top as the stories were, a lot of them also inevitably turned out to predict some form of catastrophe in real life.

Written with an eye to the horrors festering in Germany at the time, The Mayor of Hell now reads as an infernal vision of the Homeland Security Act.

The poisoned products found in The Red Death Rain and The Pain Emperor call to mind the Tylenol killings of the summer of 1982, and the hundreds of poisoned products cases that followed.

Bio-terrorism plays large in the Spider mythos, with bubonic plague in Wings of the Black Death, rabies in The Mad Horde, and cholera in The Cholera King foreshadowing the Anthrax scare of 2001. The same could be said of the terror gases from Kingdom of Doom and Green Globes of Death and the nerve gas attack in the Tokyo subways in March of 1995.

Masters of the Death Madness unfolds as a nightmare meditation upon suicide, which has become one of the principal weapons of modern terrorists. One scene involves suicide bombers.

Another scene chillingly presages the Jonestown massacre of 1978: a grand procession lines up to drink from a bowl of poisoned wine while surrounding gunmen pick off anyone who refuses to drink.

The modern reader will recognize the psychological and sociological effects of a citizenry living under the threat of terrorism, so chillingly evoked by Page: the grating loss of safety, the imminent threats lurking in familiar objects, the way security can no longer be taken for granted, the kind of skittishness that empties a building at the first sign of an unknown white powder.

The eeriest of all the modern terrorist parallels appears in a novel called The City Destroyer, originally published in 1936. It features a set piece involving the collapse of a fictitious gigantic building, supposedly the tallest in New York City, called “The Sky Building.” When it fell, it wiped out five city blocks and claimed 1,000 lives. And perhaps it’s worth noting a further parallel that occurred in the 1970’s, when Pocket Books tried to revive the Spider; they repackaged him in a paperback series, striving for an image of what was then cool and thrusting Richard Wentworth into a contemporary setting.

When Pocket Books reprinted and updated The City Destroyer in 1975, the collapse of the Sky Building was replaced with the collapse of the World Trade Center - Stuart Hopen's essay on The Spider

Regardless of how much reality Page was infusing into his stories (because, again, he took a lot of his material from newspapers) or how much he foresaw intentionally or not, writing The Spider definitely took it's toll on him, and as the magazine neared it's final stretch with him on the helm, certain parts did began taking a more philosophical or religious tone, as more of Page's own beliefs, more of Page's attempts to use it as a vehicle to do good, began to bleed through the page.

And ultimately I think that's also what the story of Dick and Nita's first meeting is about, sort of an extended analysis not just of Nita, who Page himself said was a character he conceived as "the epitome of womanhood" and everything he thought admirable about it, but also of Wentworth's own character, and the things Page wanted to get through in his time.

Religion crept deeper into the series with each succeeding year. By all accounts, Norvell Page was a man of deep faith and spirituality who just happened to be writing the exploits of a hero whose idea of mercy was a bullet in the brain instead of the stomach.

In the 100th novel, Death and The Spider, Wentworth battles Death itself - or so it seems - and on Christmas Eve, he is shot so badly while protecting the President from assassination that everyone believes he's dead - including himself.

Dead or not, he forces himself to fight on, sustained only by reciting the 23rd Psalm over and over again.

Nita laughed and accepted a cigarette. "I don't know how to thank you."

"Don't," Wentworth's voice was sharp. "I told you I am only a channel. Don't confuse me with the Source."

It stopped words on Nita's lips, and it gave here a new respect and a new and sudden attitude toward this man beside her, this man who could laugh and jest with everyone about him, and who could teach like a very oracle ... and who carried about him such a sense of dedication to high purpose. He might seem apart from the world, but he was utterly and completely of it.

Nita said, half-laughing, half-serious, "May I like you? And may I admire your ... adjustment?"

"Don't envy my adjustment," he grinned at her. "Have one yourself." He snapped flame to her cigarette with his lighter, and his lean, strong hand was steady and sure as his eyes, as his voice. He was speaking to her but he was looking at the lighter. "I have found my mission," he said quietly.

The beta AU is the prototype version of Ninjago where concept names, plots, designs, and world is made the canon than what we get in the series.

The main four are Ash(Kai), Poe(Jay), Blake (Cole), and Whit(Zane). [WIP headshots of the four]

Lloyd still has his dorky look.

Nya is Aya and is the master of Air, not water.

And the monastery is treated as a private training institution, cause how can you not when it was designed like this- (from wiki)

The monastery includes more students then the og four. I don't know if the new students would be normal or have elemental powers, but for now they're normal people/semi royals/royal guard in-training. But they're the "Scrapped" ninja team as they existed before the og four (then Lloyd) became the main heroes.

For the "scrapped" team to not step on the og fours toes, Earth is replaced with Rock and Fire is replaced with Heat.

Ok so same anon as before but I get you, cause I was so mad at the sequels, how horrible they treated Finn as a character where they just threw him out into space, and the only time he is allowed to truly talk about and reflect upon his choice to walk away, or fly away, was whit another black character and the allusion to slavery and racism was almost treated like it was a choice, and Rose as a character who was just thrown into a very weird love story just so people would stop wanting Poe and Finn to find each other, and how Poe was a made into a stereotype and Rey fell victim of two manipulative men (Kulo and Luke) and I was so mad at it all! And you haven’t made me hate the series now, but I just really think I hoped for something better? not from the show but from disney, and I do believe that most of the people actually working on the show had good intentions to not just drive the star wars and the mandalorian but also at least do some conclusive story about boba fett and fennec, and I will still like the show cause I watch it with my dad and we enjoy it a lot, but I get what you’re saying now I really do

Ranpo as LawLight´s love child

(Please, don´t take this too serious, it´s only for fun (and boredom). Think about this like a kind of Au, probably a notKira!Au)

Why them?

Well, in one of the BSD´s light novels, it was stipulated that Ranpo´s parents were geniuses, both of them. His father worked solving cases with the police, and his mother was capable of beating her husband in his work. They died when Ranpo was little.

A couple of genius detectives, both of them death. Mmm, let me think for a moment. Yeah, this sounded a lot like: LAWLIGHT.

Now in the next paragraphs I will explain some points of my theory.

1) Hair

Color theory 101. Black + Light Brown = could give you: Dark Brown.

Also L´s messy hair + Light´s PERFECT® hair = Ranpo´s hair, with kind of messy bangs well defined.

2) Food liking

L and Ranpo share their liking for sweets.

But this point doesn´t end here, because we know that Ranpo enjoys eating another kind of food like snacks (Movie) and pizza (S02EP12). Probably he likes potato chips with a little sweet flavor, and remember, what kind of chips Light prefers? Yes, BBQ potato chips. A lot of BBQ potato chips have a light sweet flavor. Whit this I´m not saying that Light has a fascination/obsession with potato chips (this is more like a headcanon from the fandom).

3) Sitting

L´s famous way of sitting is a classic. Ranpo doesn´t sit like L, but he is one of the members of the ADA that sits in “so comfortable” ways, not the more ethical for work.

4) Personality

From L, Ranpo got the non-filter to say what he is thinking, more with people that “annoys” them with their lack of intelligence. But of course they don´t say those things in a mean/cruel/pure evil way, both L and Ranpo have other perception of the society functions, for example Light thinks very high of his intelligence, he insults others but in his mind, because he knows more about social constructions and the "importance" of how the others see you.

Now, talking about Light´s ego, Ranpo has his own. Remember, how in the first episodes Light thought about him like the chosen one and the “God of the new world”. Ranpo is always pointing how he´s the best detective and that his ability is the best of the best. As well, both of them have a lot of people always feeding their egos, like Light´s parents or Ranpo´s co-workers.

5) Deduction Support

The reason for L sitting in his particular way is because “Sitting like this increase my deduction abilities in a 40%”. Ranpo “needs” his glasses to activate his “Ultra-deduction”.

In both cases, these two have conditioned their deduction abilities to a thing or a particular action.

6) Height and Eyes

Let´s be honest and let´s be realistic (kind of), not all the children look like a copy-paste of their parents, this is something that fics have taught us and is not 100% correct, genetic doesn’t work this way. Some kids can look more like their grandparents or uncles.

First, let´s talk about the height. Both L and Light are 1.79cm tall *, Ranpo´s height is 168cm. The difference is 11 cm. For his age, Ranpo (26) is a lot shorter in comparison with L and Light (19-25). Light´s father is taller than his son (1.81 cm), and we don´t know L´s parents, neither L´s or Light´s grandparents. And for the height topic, I will choose Light´s mother's family ´cause Sachiko has the average Japanese female´s height, and probably her family too. With that Ranpo´s height fits better in the family tree.

*In the official character sheet L´s height is marked as an estimation.

Second, the eyes. As in the height explanation, Ranpo could have inherited his green eyes from his grandparents or from another family member/ancestor. In this case I will incline my theory with L`s family. Tsugumi Ohba has said "I think of him (L) as a quarter Japanese, a quarter English, a quarter Russian, a quarter French or Italian, like that”, with this information, we could say that L has a high percentage of European/Caucasian heritage, green eyes included.

7) Bonus: The history repeats itself

The cherry on the top in this theory is that like Light, Ranpo got himself a goth/emo-look alike-boyfriend. And as Light and L, Ranpo and Poe share similar interest. Because, don´t forget that Poe is a detective (and writer) too.

Reincarnation au

• Maybe I can make this Hardcase dying and Kix getting kidnapped and frozen into carbonite deal a bit better... No, I actually can't.

• But I'm still trying it.

• So, Kix and the pirate crew don't really deal with the rebel alliance in 37 BBY that much. Kix actually likes that because, kriff has he had enough action to last several lifetimes.

• But on one of their heists they run into the rebels and some palaver later they're on one of their bases.

• And Kix gets talking with one of their pilots (no, not poe) and Kix slowly realizes that the guy is a bit like Hardcase.

• But he brushes it off because a guy being an immature and reckles idiot? More news at 7.

• But it doesn't end there because the crew actually decides to go on some heists for that rebel base, and every time they return that pilot will search out Kix and they'll talk.

• And slowly but surely Kix realises that it isn't just the obvious things, like being a prankster, that remind him of Hardcase but the little things too.

• Like, the guy is actually good at drawing, he hates holo movies that are overly bloody, he's a bit clumsy, his smile looks just like Hardcase's and it doesn't help at all that he smiles quite a lot.

• He even starts getting Kix a cup of caf every time his crew comes around, just like the caf dates Hardcase had with him back in the day.

• One day Kix and Alexander (Veers' first name is Maximilian so🤷‍♂️) are talking and another pilot yells for Alexander to do something or another, but he actually calls him 'Hardcase' because Alex has bumped his head on his x-wing enough times that this stuck as his nickname.

• And Kix just stops dead in his tracks. And just leaves right that second because this can't be true.

• But Alexander follows him because he's so much like Hardcase that he wants to make sure Kix is alright despite only knowing him a couple of weeks.

• Kix tries talking it off but Alexander can tell that he's full of shit and openly asks Kix if he reacted this way because he reminds him of someone.

• And Kix stops again because, what the actual!?

• And Alexander tells him that he wasn't sure at first and struggled to come zo terms with it but now he is pretty sure that he knows Kix.

• See Alexander has had strange dreams all his life.

• Dreams about a war he never whitnessed, dreams about an army of people who all seemed to look the same but he knew how to tell them from another.

• He remembered names like Jesse, and Fives and Rex, and actually knows Rex' name and face from the battle of Endor.

• He also had dreams about a battle going sideways and him and two other trooper wanting to break a blockade, him going out in an explosion and telling them to "live to fight another day".

• Kix' face was pretty prominent in those dreams, but he had looked younger. More carefree, if that was even possible.

• It even turns out that Alexander was born on the exact same day (probably down to the minute and second) that Hardcase died.

• Kix is just silent throughout Alexander's whole explanation, staring like Kix.exe stopped working.

• And Alex is like, "I know it sounds weird," and he tries to make light of the situation, like Hardcase would.

• And thats when Kix snaps out of his stupor and fucking kisses Alexander, murmuring stuff like "you came back" and "I can't believe you came back to me"

Me, after thinking this up and actually wanting to write it now:
