Alright this is my biggest unanswered question in Fire Emblem lore that I've been thinking about for like 8 years

Things that we know:

• Chrom and Lucina are Marth's descendants

• Priam is Ike's descendant

• Panne and Yarne are basically laguz

• They're all on Ylisse, previously Archanea

• Priam can't learn Aether

• Chrom and Lucina can learn Aether

• Ike can only S support with males

What does it mean?!?!?! What exactly are they implying with all this? Priam looks like Ike, acts fairly similar to Ike, has Ragnell for crying out loud, yet can't inherit his ancestor's trademark skill, yet Chrom and Lucina can!!

At the end of Tellius Series Ike disappears never to be seen again, it can easily be assumed that he went to Archanea considering all the evidence that we have, but how did laguz species end up there? And how does Ike even have descendants in the first place? Mist and Boyd could be an explanation, but if he never saw them again, how would their descendant get to Archanea??

After Awakening, Fates and Heroes, I'm assuming some sort of gateway exists between Tellius and Archanea that Ike discovered and then their worlds continued to use it to be in contact with each other (?) It makes a fair amount of sense, but I still don't know about the whole Aether business... I do believe Priam comes from Mist and Boyd's line which is why he can't inherit it, but why can Chrom and Lucina?!?! What.. what are the implications....

Y'know, despite Priam being contentious in the community, he's probably my favorite of the spotpass recruits, if only because being completely unconnected to Awakening's plot as a whole means his ludicrous characterization works. For as interesting as the other spotpass characters are, I can't say I enjoy what they bring to the table as a whole because they clash with my enjoyment of Awakening's narrative. For me, "What If" scenarios like "what if Emmeryn lived" and such are best used in purely fandom spaces (and games like Heroes where any character can be brought back), if not entirely separate adventures or stories.

...Okay, Priam being hot and having a sexy voice gives him further bonus points, too.

What are your thoughts on priam. My thought is that he is absolutely a chunni and or larping pretending to be ike's descendant or he is related to mist or ike's sister.

Oh Priam... it brings back memories.

At first I hated him because of how hard his maps was lol but even though he only has 2 support with Robin he is a pretty solid character.

I don't know much about Ike since I never touched Tellius but from what I know of his character as portrayed by Heroes, I think we can see a patern with Priam : they are both the kind of being passionated about fighting. Priam being passioned about it to the point of making a whole deal of food and weapon was kind of fun and I wished he could have had a support with Owain. I am sure the two of them would get along ! His support with F!Robin was pretty solid too. He is enjoyable, kind of a dork actually, like him very much. Also a good father for Morgan.

Also, mind correcting me Anon but isn't Mist Ike's sister ? Does he have another one ? As for the part about him pretending... as far as I recall, he doesn't really brag about his heritage and character wise, I don't think it would make sense for him to pretend to be a descendant of Ike, even his design is kind of reminscent

He also has aether and can wield Ragnell which is Ike's weapon from my knowledge

I haven't played Tellius so my knoweldge of Ike is a bit limited... is there any thing in Path or Radiance or Radiant Dawn that makes you believe they aren't related ? (I am genuinely asking because I really have no idea of what happened in those games beside knowing the great lines of the plot)

My fave explanation for Priam’s existence will always be either Ike or Soren being trans. I wish more people would consider that as an option.

(Extreme bonus points for headcanoning Ike as the trans one, instead of Soren, btw. We need more transmasc headcanons for characters that are big and beefy <3)

Everyone is talking about Nintendo's 3DS online service going down, and as a consequence, joking about Priam getting nuked.

To honor his memory (rest in peace) we should all come up with wild Priam origin theories. For example:

Priam is actually Soren's descendent, not Ike's. Soren and Ike travel the world together happily for years but unfortunately, due to his longer life span, Soren outlives Ike who dies of old age. Eventually Soren meets a woman he can tolerate and has a son he names Ike and this is Priam's real ancestor, making his entire backstory a misunderstanding.

sometimes I remember when people tried to use Priam as proof that Ike wasn't gay, as if Ike's intersex genderfluid half-dragon twink husband Soren wouldn't immediately start happy-crying thinking about a bunch of tiny little Ikes running around their house the minute Ike asks him if he's ever thought about having kids.
