I still think its weird that what the game decides should be Jason's big come to Jesus "what have I become" moment is like one of the few bits of legitimately nonoptional violence in the game. Like yeah no I'm sure that entire sequence with Riley was incredibly traumatic for all parties involved but there was no other way of getting to him and its pretty clear Riley would prefer being knocked around a little over being sold into slavery. This isn't one of those instances where Jason is using his loved ones as a prop for his gratuitous action hero adventure, this is clearly something he's only doing because if he doesn't Riley will die. That's a very weird moment to pick to bring the hammer of judgement down on him because I'd argue pre-Rook Island Jason would've done the same thing. Maybe he'd be a worse actor about it but if you told him "do this or you and he will both die" I think he would've found it within him to go through with it. It doesnt speak to the corruption of the vengeance cycle it does that weird Far Cry Game thing where it just decides all violence is created equal and is all equally bad now go run out there for another two hours of gameplay

i love thinking about the brody brothers having varying levels of fluency in terms of speaking irish gaelic. It was grant’s first language and he became close to their grandparents seamlessly slipping into it whenever they talked, it was jason’s second language and he can only speak enough to hold up a conversation but he can’t read or write it, and poor poor riley only understands but can’t speak it LOL
