Hello. I am a Japanese lesbian womyn and I have read "Thornwood".

It was so interesting that I forgot to go to bed. When I realised it was time to go to bed, "I just want to read one more chapter..." I repeated this five times and then finally went to bed.

I've never read a lesbian novel that I enjoyed so much.

I can't tell you how many times Lean and Blake encouraged me. The world, the magic, the worldview of a future where men have long since become extinct, everything was pleasantly enjoyed. I had never seen a work like this before.

I never had a favourite novel at all, but this is the first one. I finally found it after a long search. Thank you so much for writing it.

Can I expect a sequel?

Oh anon I am beside myself, I've never received an ask that made me so happy! I'm thrilled you like the story I wrote!

I've been writing a sequel, and then my hard disk died and took everything I wrote with it, and it's really hard to go and re-write it! I had it half done. I'm still constantly developing the story in my head and I'm never over it, I want to write it really badly!

I'm so glad you liked the world where m*n are extinct and women are ruling with magic, I wanted something that reflected how I felt about the future and the nature and our strength and sense of adventure. It means so much to me to know that a japanese woman liked it! I've been enjoying japanese media so much, I feel extremely fulfilled with this information.

Hey. Fuck you for having such a cool species as the Rex. When I first saw them, I just thought they looked cool. Then I learned they could not only swim, but fly by heating hydrogen in their lungs, which like. Ok that rules. And they can photosynthesize to grow enormous because theyre descended from plants? not fucking fair. Ungodly amounts of cool. Well done.

Thank you for the wonderful comment! I love to hear it! The Rex are some or such ten years old now and way too developed compared to my other species. I love biology but lack the brains for math, so this is my way of exploring concepts in nature. Most of which works through the amazing properties of "don't worry about it."

It’s also much easier to draw little creatures than drawing story scenes. If I ever turn Rainmaker into a book or story there will be an accompanying lore bible explaining how all animal life on Ku (Rex homeworld) descends from plants.

If Rex were Earth creatures, we'd probably class them as cyanobacteria.

Someone recommended Idolistic to me cos I was looking for KP fics that focused on the main family sibling relationships and I binged it all in the past... 2-3 days? This has become THE definitive Kimchay fic for me, your characterisation of Kim is so GOOD. This awkward, weird loser thrumming with an undercurrent of violence, who's partitioned himself off into these separate personas and masks, who thinks he's fine but really isn't, so desperate to be truly seen and not even realising he wants that until finding it in Chay. The dissociation bits you wrote were really good too, as well as the complexity of the sibling relationships. Also, Vegas in all his menacing, poisonous, unhinged creepiness was a delight. Also we stan ultimate fanboy and detective Chay

I've been meaning to reply to this for the last few weeks but every time I tried I got a little overwhelmed (in a good way). I'm so glad you enjoyed it, that you liked all the threads I wove into Kim - and that how I wrote him, and his relationships with the people around him connected with you. We truly see so little of him in the show, really, but he's such a fascinating character to think about!

Writing idolistic truly took over my brain for over half of last year, so it's really freaking amazing to hear that people are still are stumbling across it and reading and enjoying it. I did a lot of crazy things in 2023 but writing that fic was probably one of the craziest lol

Arielle for sure. What with Sam already getting into nonsense a few times 🙃 but since they eventually become partners too, they do the adventuring together. That helps her worry less!

😚 - When one gets sick, what does the other do?

Sam tries his best, bless him lol. He tries to get her anything she needs; orders soup from her favorite restaurant, makes sure she isn't trying to work from bed, and gives her full control of the TV. Similarly, Arielle also has to make sure Sam stays in bed. And she makes him hot water with lemon and ginger.

🐇 - Who wants to cuddle the other longer in the morning?

Sam. Not that Arielle doesn't want to, but she's a really early riser and wants to get right to being productive.

😒 - Do they get jealous easily?

Before they were officially together, Arielle would get jealous pretty easily when Sam flirted with another woman or alluded to doing so in her presence. But she didn't make a big deal about it. Sam is even more easily jealous…especially after they're together 😅
