I just want to thank all of the ao3 volunteers real quick. You guys are fucking amazing. Fight with all your might, but make sure to rest to. Take a deep breath, eat some cheese (if your allergic or vegan eat some idk fuckin plums? Yeah plums are good.) take a bath or shower, listen to some music, take any meds you need, walk your pets (or yourself) and just breath.

Treat your own mental health well.

one thing I think is wholesome about the ao3 situation is that while we constantly bullied the creators when it’s a multi billion dollar platforms like twitter or instagram that was down, literally so far I haven’t seen anybody harass the ao3 volunteers for the site currently being down but instead we’re all collectively cheering on them and telling them they’re doing amazing while they try to fix the site so that it’s up and running again, because unlike those apps (twitter, tiktok, instagram, etc) ao3 is truly run by people like you and me who just want to create a getaway and a safe place for people to have a good time reading fics about their comfort characters. like it’s literally created and run by fans for fans. and bro I just want all these ao3 volunteers to know they’re literally our heroes and our saviors and that we appreciate them all so much

After the DDOS attack on Ao3, my writer brain is now imagining a story where the Internet is a medieval land made up of several kingdoms, three of them notable Fanfiction, Wattpad, and Archive.

But one day the Kingdom of Archive gets attacked and the ruler gets kidnapped. The citizens of Archive (readers/writers), who were forced out of their homes, are demanding for justice for their ruler and the blood of the attacker.

As the rulers of Fanfiction and Wattpad tried to placate the citizens and allowing them to stay in their kingdoms for the time being, the Knights of Archive (the volunteers) set on a quest to save their ruler.

And of course the knights have magic powers based on writing. (In what form I'm not sure about).
