felt like trying to dissect it a bit so heres my thoughts :)

i assume jordyn (the one who owns the secret page) is either a. one of the girls, b. the ??? person, or c. both. dont know much about them but i know their background is from this

their webkins pet is also named jerma. they’re probably a fan of twitch streamers

based on jordyns posts, i can gauge that they’re in a mental hospital or maybe a rehab place?

here are some people who are mentioned in jordyns posts:

if i were to speculate who these people were based on the girls currently released, i think xiomara is caliber girl: assuming her password is her birth year it fits her age (2023 - 1996 = 27). i also think tahira might be splitter girl because of her particular choice in movies.

freyja could very well be fainéant girl because of the pronoun usage (fainéant is the only girl who uses she/they only iirc)

nora is more ambiguous but i feel like it could be chocolate-box girl based on what nora chose to draw. (but if you were asking simply off of vibes i’d say irreverent girl)

but ofc the people named could very well be girls who just haven’t been released yet.

one: just tag posts you want to save with the tag “bookmark”. when click on that tag, it should take you to a screen of all the stuff on your blog thats also been tagged with that

this might not be for everyone tho as it means all your bookmarks are public since anyone can also click on your tag and look through it

soooooo let me teach yall about the next best thing you can do on tumblr: side blogs!

side blogs are basically blogs without a new separate log in. they don’t have their own password, so you can only get to it through your normal account, but otherwise they work like a normal blog

HERE’S HOW YOU CAN MAKE A SIDEBLOG TO “BOOKMARK” IMPORTANT STUFF FOR LATER:

STEP ONE click the little person icon at the bottom of your homepage (aka dash)

STEP TWO you should see a page like this. click “create a new blog”, type in an available username, and hit enter

your screen should now have another blog listed below your main blog as you can see in the picture

STEP THREE go check out your new blog and customize it to your liking (you might want to make it obvious that this is just for bookmarks so people don’t want to follow)

STEP FOUR click the name of the blog in the top right corner. clicking on it will let you see all of your blogs so you can go back to your main one by clicking on its name

STEP FIVE congratulations you can now bookmark things! whenever you see a post you want to save for later, simply press and hold on the reblog button and select the icon for your SIDE BOOKMARK BLOG, not your main blog

Headcannons about Cypher & his tech capabilities (from most mundane to crazier)

cypher makes everyone do hard resets of computers & other devices once a month and keep backups on two separate physical hard drives, one for themselves and one for cypher. If the protocol is hacked extrenally, very little will be found

each person's room has a unique passcode. if people are dating, their codes work on each other's doors. It’s his funny little way of saying “caught you!” most people haven't realized because they haven't bothered trying

backdoor password to brimstone's bracer is "cypherdiedandiforgotmypasswordagain12345" (brimstone is not aware of this, but he will be automatically informed of such by the bracer if he is still alive and unlocks it with the current password)

cypher has hacked grubhub, instacart, amazon, and literally any other delivery service imaginable so that the protocol never has to pay for groceries or anything

He has thumb drive titled 'gifts' and it's just like 700 tutorials + tiktoks about various arts and crafts activities and there's folders for every type (knitting for omen, whittling for sova and skye, embroidery for astra, pressed flowers for sage, plant care for anyone, spray paint for raze and phoenix, etc.) When an agent has a particularly bad time on a mission he picks one and emails it to that specific agent

Most agents were wary of the “gifts” at first but have come to appreciate it. Everyone is aware that cypher does this but no one talks about it so it’s kind of like a public secret

On a related note, everyone secretly wants cypher to be their secret santa because they know he absolutely will give them the very thing they've been secretly ogling on amazon for the last 70 days

cypher is an expert at photoshop bc he knows how to look for discern fabricated images etc. this gives him an extremely powerful way to mess with the other agents

if you've ever seen that tweet about the guy who kept making missouri bigger on the US map on the state’s wikipedia page, thats what cypher does to agent portraits. He is the culprit behind widejoy, breach's comedically bushy mustache, reyna's vampire fangs, the extreme size of his own hat, dulling/erasure of chamber's stripes, making yoru's onion hair larger, and occasionally flipping everyone's valorant logo upside-down

Have any of you seen the twitter post about the zombie flower rarepair!

I've been contemplating about a similar situation for jaydick. And since we already have an amazing fic of Jay writing Red Hood/Nightwing fics. I had a hard time figuring something until it hit me just now!

Dick and kori spilt up early after Dick leaves his home and base in Gotham.

Just peachy. Exactly what Dick needed after his Dad/mentor "fired" him and had a terrible fall out with him, who didn't hesitate to bring another boy home to take Dick's place and wear his mantle. Bruce carelessly giving him his family legacy.

It's good that Dick made up with Jason. The kid was good and he deserves good things to happen to him.

But Dick now is crestfallen of his break up with Kori. He so pathetically goes on the Internet searching of Nightwing x Starfire stories to read...

Dick discovers that his alias tag is not frequently shipped with Starfire, but rather filled with his other teammates and mostly with speedy... sometimes even with orgies with the whole Titans team.... thats is something for sure.

The fanfiction reading site does cheer him abit, if getting his mind of his horrible break up can count as cheering.

Dick stumbles upon the original characters x Nightwing tag, and there is one recognisable name out in the pages. Prejudice_Against_The_System88, this person has a great fanfiction collection of their original character "Red Cardinal" being romantically shipped with Nightwing. They also have some stories with Robin/Nightwing. Their stories varies but are mostly on in the R rated romantic genre. Their writing is good and promising for someone, who Dick assumes, based on the authors notes, in their high school year.

Dick actually enjoys the Red Cardinal/Nightwing fics mostly on the site. He starts leaving comments for the author. Appreciating their thoughtful writing of his character and their growing maturity of how they are dealing with Red Cardinal's feelings for Nightwing.

To say Dick becomes obsessed with CardinalWing (the ship name, as bestowed by himself upon the author) is an understatement. He becomes Prejudice_Against_The_System88's number one fan. Always commenting and engaging the author in discussion of each story they release, who in turn are so enthusiastic they sometimes slip up information of future chapters or stories they are working on.

Dick lives in a bliss of this hobby for great while. Until the author starts complaining of school tests and how their schedule won't allow them for more posting.

Their posting dwindles gradually until they fully stop for a month.... Dick gets worried that maybe the author is not feeling appreciated enough. ( he had read of that author who held their new chapters hostages In exchange for 50 comment on each chapter or something after all) luckily, his lovely Prejudice are not that kind of person. Still though, Dick miss their presence and making two other accounts to leaves comments just for them won't hurt him in anyway so he does. Maybe the additional engagement would lift them up again.

His two other accounts, does not engage well with the author who had disappeared now for two months.

Dick's real life is not fairing any better too...

He comes back to earth after a long mission in space to find that Jason has been murdered by the Joker and Bruce hadn't even bothered to tell him about that

Dick is devastated by that and his whole team are their by his side trying to comfort him, even poor kori is back by him holding him and being there for him.

Dick is so broken after that he fully immersed himself in his work and completely forgot about his teenage years hobby...

Now I don't know how to continue this?

Maybe Jason suddenly remember his account's password and log in to be blasted with tons of notifications of a time long gone with multiple people engaging all his stories that are left with no reply from him. It would warm his heart a bit but it would also make him so bitter of everything that he had been robbed of.

And would he complete his stories? I think yes!

He'd maybe update his account with a short fic of Red Cardinal coming back from the underworld as gag effect lol, he's not expecting people to interact with his work, especially after all these years. But who knows maybe there is someone out there who awaited his long sought-after return....

"im gonna go wiz, my password is 7dream incase you want to change the song y/n" he says with a soft smile.

"just say pee sung... weirdo" you mutter through a giggle as he walks away. he actually didn't have to pee he just had to relax because he was shaking so much, he was punching the air and shit trying to hype himself up pls

once he leaves, you decide to sneak a couple silly selfies on his phone, until a song you didn't recognize blasted through the earbuds

you wrinkled your nose and typed his password in, clicking on the spoitfy icon to rake through his playlist for something better. what you did not expect, was a very, very long playlist titled campus crush, with a picture... a picture of you, asleep in world literature. you remember this day. jisung seemed shyer than usual when you woke up. now you know why

you can't wait to tease him for it when he returns, pulling him in from his collar for a kiss when he gets close to check what page you're on //

catching up to dash since early morning is wild. but since everyones putting their two cents in lemme throw a bet in from someone who's been in poke rpc for some seven or so odd years ( hell some people have been around longer LMAO ).

I see a lot of posts focused on the individual experience, and thats great and not so great at the same time. It's tumblr, I get it. For the longest time peeps have been putting up with their time and energy being spent on the outside just to get online and want to relax. Let's not forget the mental illnesses that make energy and attention just impossible literally to do things lmao.

I love seeing people taking steps to take care of themselves. The early days didn't have carefully made boundaries and I saw so many peeps get burnt out making this a job more then a hobby, getting abused, a lot of nasty stuff but all that changed when the attitude changed. It's been so much better for everyone that way.

But I also observe the community in this .. or lack of in some ways. There's also been a lot of people leaving because of little interaction or in some cases being shunned from events that are supposedly open. That's a recent movement. I remember dash wide spontaneous events, the rpc sharing and evolving a plot that may have started from one blog before connecting so many others, raid battles with legendary pokemon that went out of control, etc!

Im not saying you can't have a circle of pals. I sure do! I'm saying have instances of being open for others to interact and get involved. I'm sure a lot of peeps wouldn't have even met their pals without having that oppurtunity to participate in something small that became something very big! This hobby is great because there's a community to share and be apart of and to deny or shun new players or even current ones who want to be part of something great is counterintuitive for a community at whole. Whether thats rb'ing memes, letting peeps comment on ic posts or dash posts, having starter calls, making aus that aren't connected to a plot so it's easier to open to new engagement, etc.

Course there's the argument of "its my X so I will say what or who goes into X" and you're right! There's a perfect balance of boundaries understood and being made and maybe opening the narrative to players who genuinely look interested and try to join who listen to said boundaries and participate fairly and with anticipation.

But more then anything make it easy to do so. I also remember the period when people would put cryptic rule passwords in their rules. Like...Im talking they broke them up, scattered them around all around their tiny text, glow up pages and if you get one word wrong theyd tell you try again....lol. We don't need that. Getting the nuisances of society is hard enough least of all for the peeps who have conditions that make this extra hard. I'm talking from someone who has an extreme case of social anxiety (doctors word for it, not mine LAUGHs) and ADHD. I don't communicate or participate like regular players. In fact I only gauge how well I can play with someone by casual one off ic back and forth first and build from there. Maybe by the third or fourth interaction Im brave enough to reach out via DMs. I literally have panic attacks and take a week to answer IMs that come out of the blue asking to participate which is just the regular thing to do in the rpc, but I literally can't do that. Sadly I've been reprimanded for trying to have casual back and forths throughout the years despite how apparent I make it that I have a very hard time going into IMs or asks without knowing you first.

We should make ourselves accessible! We talk about making front pages accessible for those hard of sight, google documents to make things easy, icons and all that but don't really talk about making the important communication between peeps accessible for people with handicaps too.

All in all this is my opinion and observation! The community changes every few years and it's interesting to see how it turns one way or the other. You dont have to listen to me or any of this really! Be as private or as open as ya like. Flash emulation won't actually work with the way the site is coded. It's really difficult to truly illustrate HOW fucked the site is if you aren't familiar with it.

So the flash games are INTEGRATED into the site. They don't just play. They send scores and those scores are validated by the site and then affect the game in real time by awarding points. Thats backend stuff and it seems EASY. But flash EMULATION will not really let that process work. Not blanket. Ruffle is a browser add on for flash and you can play some games with it but every game has needed to be worked manually and individually to try and get it to play correctly and to let it send scores.

Here, so like. Last year you may recall having heard about the data breach. It was a long time coming. Neopets has terrible security and always has. So someone got backend access, downloaded the server and this had all of the usernames and passwords ever used. Were they hashed? Yes. Was the hashkey stored in the server and thus also available to the hacker? Also yes.

As a result neopets finally moved from http to https. Great!

Not for flash games.

Every game has links in it right. Backend stuff. Mechanics. But all those fucking links redirect to http, not https. And you cannot change that without editing the game and you can't do THAT without a program that makes flash elements. So they're basically unfixable on site. On one fell swoop, every single flash game broke at once. You could play them but scores were now unsendable.

The workaround neopets USERS found was, I shut you not, using developer tools to modify the way your entire computer communicates with the internet

It is 538 lines! It is manually overriding the links used in these games. This IS hacking. Technically this is against the rules, it's just not being enforced.

The workaround before this STILL had you download a new browser, modify it, take your internet offline and manually reinstall an old version of flash to create a jury rigged flash browser. Oh my God this is so dangerous and we Still do this. Did I do all this fiddler stuff? Yes! I did! Because neopets is very much like transformers in that there is a small user base but every single person there is fucking insane!

So.... Emulation is not a solution. Every game needs to be individually ground up REMADE in html5. And you can't just import the old game and tweak it. It has to be made from scratch. That's why there are so few html5 games. It's incredibly difficult and time consuming and probably not all that worth it when there's so much to be done.

This is what I mean when I say the site is virtually unplayable. This is the kind of shit that we have to do to make the site work. You basically cannot play unless you are accessing fan sites and communities to find resources that can offer fixes to everything that is broken. There are legitimately pages of this website that have not been updated since 1999. Until like two years ago you still could not say "gay" on the forums because the chat filter caught it. And do you know why?? Staff literally did not know where the chat filter was stored in the backend. They could not find it. The site traded hands and staff so much that no one remained who knew where it was.

There is LITERALLY a guy who found backend access several years ago and can, whenever he wants, get into the server and look at everything. HE could have stolen those passwords (which the other hacker was selling for $10,000!!) At any time he wanted. Instead he just made an anonymous reddit account where he would post info about how the fucking site works and why things are broken and "yeah they lied about fixing this its still broken" or "yeah actually they secretly shadowbanned a bunch of people from submitting scores to the big yearly event next year if you dm me I can tell you if you're on the list"

And he IS STILL THERE!!!! HE STILL HAS SERVER ACCESS!!! ITS BEEN YEARS AND THEY HAVENT KICKED HIM OUR BECAUSE THEY STILL HAVENT FOUND THE BREACH!!!!!!!

This. THIS is what staff is dealing with. THIS is the absolute shit storm they need to tackle if they want this site to work. The way pets are stored, the way accounts work, all of those things cannot be changed without causing severe issues conflicting with users accounts, pets, items, and all of that was originally coded in 1998/1999 and it cannot be changed. It cannot be modernized. They need to find ways to integrate old code that cannot be changed into a site coded for a modern internet. That is beyond the scope of normal site building.

All that is to say... I'm hesitant to believe things will improve, not because I don't think staff wants to, not because I don't think they have the drive and the passion to throw everything they have at it. Just because... Jesus dude I don't know if they actually have the resources to fix this mess at all.

Meanwhile elliot is doing his "pretend to be a creepy rich guy oggling the staff who arent paid enough to put up with it" con. First two tries fail (both decent guesses) and he knows a third failure will lock him out so he tries Breanna, who is unfortunately unavailable for reasons of coding camp. Oh he's resorted to Social Engineering, taking a leaf out of Sophie's book. Lets see how it plays out for him.

Chapter 3

After dinner I headed to my common room but ended up getting lost along the way thankfully someone decided to help me

"Hey are you lost" I hear someone saying as I turn around and see a cute looking black haired boy

"Um yeah actually would you mind helping me to Gryffindor common room" I say hopefully

"Yeah of course thats actually where I was heading, sorry I forgot to introduce myself I'm Neville Longbottom" he says with a dorky smile

"Oh ok great and hello Neville I'm Alexis I'm new if you couldn't tell" I say laughing as we start to walk together, he smiles

"Yeah I heard about you from the twins they seem to be really captivated by you" I blush thinking that they've been talking about me

"Well what can I say those boys were extremely welcoming they make me feel like I could belong here" he smiles bigger

"Yeah that's Fred and George for you always welcoming" I smile back we settle into a comfortable silence as we walk down the halls of Hogwarts, finally we get to a portrait of a lady

"Well this is it the entrance to Gryffindor common room the password changes every week to make sure its safe" I nod looking at the painting curiously, Neville whisperers the password to the portrait and it opens we both head inside

"Sorry to wake you I'm your roommate Hermione and got worried when it hit midnight and you didn't show" I sit up smiling embarrassedly

"Oh gosh I'm sorry this place is just so cozy I must have accidentally fell asleep Im sorry again to have worried you" she smiles and assures me its ok we both head up to our room, I'm so surprised I fell asleep I'm normally a night owl, once we get to our room Hermione opens the door and I see all my luggage already in my room I was wondering where it went

"Oh yeah the house elfs bring our luggage to our room they also cook and clean the castle which I down think is right we should clean up after ourselves a lot of house elfs are used as slaves to powerful wizards which is bullocks in my opinion" she huffs annoyed

"Ive heard of house elfs never meant one though I've always been interested in them sense I was a kid when my parents told me they get used as slaves I thought it was awful" Hermione smiles at me

"I like you already" I smile back blushing, after I unpack a bit we both say goodnight and Hermione heads to sleep well I get my night light and a book to read for a bit, it must be all the changes lately because I can barely read a few pages before feeling sluggish and deciding to call it a night I put my book to the side and start to fall into a deep sleep

Im in a black room I feel eyes on me it feels familiar I look around to see professor Snape starring at me I stare back into his onyx colored eyes he dosent break eye contact I get a shiver up my spine as he starts to walk towards me his cape bellowing behind him he gets inches away from my face as I stare up into his eyes I see something unidentifiable in them suddenly I feel his hands on my hips pulling me into him I gasp when I feel his lips on mine kissing me hard I'm so surprised I don't even react at first but then I'm kissing him back with vigor he pushes his tongue in my mouth and I moan which gives him full access to my mouth I run my hands through his hair gripping the ends suddenly he pulls away and whispers in my ear

"Wake up" I look at him confused

"And you are late why" I hear a deep voice behind me and I jump around in my seat and am meant with those same deep onyx eyes I saw in my dream
