Okay! Well since I've been doing it for the others, let's explain Ceruledge and why he's in Spain.
Well his design is probably inspired by Morien, the Black Knight of Arthurian legend. Morien got his name because he was Moorish.
Tumblr media
The Moors ruled parts of Andalucia (south Spain) for about 800 years. So he's based off the previous gen being England and still has ties to the current gen. Also Spain is know for Toledo Steel, which is one of the strongest steels in the world & was popular with swordsmiths.
Sir Morien was often described as a heroic and noble knight, so why a vengeful ghost? Well in other Arthurian legends the "Black Knight" (Not Sir Morien specifically) is a common supernatural adversary on the various quests of the knights of the round table.
Next up Armarouge!
Well let's start off with the "MegaMan Canon" everyone has pointed out. Spain invented the gun. So...there's that. 😬
Tumblr media Tumblr media
On a happier note! The most notable and well-known medieval Spanish knight was Rodrigo Diaz de Vivar, more popularly known as El Cid.
El Cid was from the kingdom of Castile, who's colors were crimson and gold. He reclaimed the Taifa of Valencia from Moorish control and ruled the principality till his death. Which makes him a good counter for Ceruledge who's based off a Moorish knight.
To this day he's considered in Spain as an ideal noble knight. Being strong, valiant, loyal, just, and pious.
So why a psychic type? I think Wikipedia actually does an excellent job of explaining it:

What would happen if Nezha and Ao Bing from Nezha (2019), Jiang Ziya, Yang Jian and the Lego Monkie Kid gang, got warped into a videogame, (like something in Jumanji), where they each go into the body of a famous historical figure, Napoleon Bonaparte, Alexander the Great, Charlamagne, Atilla the Hun, King Arthur, Pharaoh Thutmose III? I just think it would be hilarious Nezha as George Washington or Napoleon in the game. Nezha / George Washington ruling, with a bald eagle on his shoulder and a giant American flag (maybe paired with sunglasses). Though Sun Wukong as Napoleon would be funny too. Maybe Jiang Ziya is Pharoah Thutmose III? And Mei is Catherine the Great? I’m not sure.
Or something along the lines of that DC Legends of Tomorrow episode I watched. Like the demons go back in history and kidnap George Washington and Nezha has to pretend to be George Washington until the Lego Monkie Kid gang save the real George Washington.
I just got this from Bing Chat, never heard of these historical figures honestly, MK as Julius Caesar, Pigsy as Henry VIII, Red Son as Attila the Hun, Macaque as Hannibal Barca, Tang as Ashoka, and Sandy as Saladin, and Yang Jian as Charlemagne.
Ooh but Nezha as Alexander the Great would be cool. Mei as Joan of Arc. Just like folk heroes that are real or could have been real (but not confirmed), world conqueror’s and stuff like Boudica, William Wallace, Constantine, Augustus Caesar, El Cid, Sparticus, Sundiata Keita, William Tell. Abraham Lincoln? Maybe King Leonidas (MK), and they would imitate the THIS IS SPARTA meme.
I honestly havent seen Jiang Ziya to answer things about him yet but the story sounds very interesting.
I can imagine some historical shennanigans occuring because of a time-travelling artifact Sun Wukong had in his treasury.
Also the LMK cast might have trouble passing themeselves off as different historical figures depending on how they looked.
Except maybe Pigsy as Henry the VIII. The english court would see a pig-man in the king's clothes and think; "Huh. Henry's looking thinner."
I love the idea of MK yelling historical movie memes depending on where they are XD

Do you know of historical shows/movies with incest in them? I know it's very specific but something about it just hits different lol I've watched The Borgias, Borgia, Los Borgia, El Cid, Game of Thrones, Crimson Peak, Rome and Spartacus. Soo I don't know if there's anything left out there for me lol 🤣 I also know there's incest in War & Peace and Tut, but I haven't gotten around to watching them yet. So if you've seen them, are they worth it?
Thank you for your time!
It does seem like you have seen the big ones.
War & Peace is not worth watching for the incest, I would say, but in my opinion Tut is, though go in prepared for more of a Crimson Peak-style relationship than a Borgias-type one.
One that I do not see on your list is Vikings. Season 4 had a storyline between a brother and sister at the French Court, I think it was. Based on personal experience, I can say that you can just watch the court scenes and it's fairly self-contained and worth your time.
Other period shows with canon bro/sis incest include Carnivale (1930s), and Indian Summers (1930s).
You also might want to look into Arthurian Legend, though Mists of Avalon and BBC Merlin are really the other shippable Arthur/Morgana's out there that are readily available, though there is canon incest in other versions like the Merlin 1998 mini-series, Excalibur, the TV show Camelot, and so forth.
If you check out my bro/sis masterlist here, a number of the movies on the list are not set in the present day, so many that I'm afraid I don't have time to list them. But my top recs would be Curse of the Golden Flower, Caligula, Marguerite and Julien (you must see this one if you haven't already), My Sister, My Love (Syskonbadd 1782), Tis Pity She's a Whore, and something I'm inevitably forgetting.
Everyone, please feel free to chime in with recs.

Art by Torras y Armengol (1832 - 1878) Created in 1876
There is this ancient Spanish legend, about the Daughters of Cid which dates from and appears in the Poem del Mío Cid.
This poem is based on a true story, it tells of the deeds of the Castilian hero Rodrigo Díaz de Vivar known as El Cid and takes place during the eleventh century, an era of conflicts in the Iberian Peninsula between the Kingdom of Castile and various Taifa principalities of Al-Andalus. It is considered a national epic of Spain. The work survives in a medieval manuscript which is now in the Spanish National Library. The story begins with the exile of El Cid, whose enemies had unjustly accused him of stealing money from the king, Alfonso VI of Castile and León, leading to his exile. To regain his honor, he participated in the battles against the Moorish armies and conquered Valencia. By these heroic acts he regained the confidence of the king and his honor was restored. The king personally marries El Cid’s daughters to the infantes (princes) of Carrión. However, when the princes are humiliated by El Cid’s men for their cowardice, the infantes swear revenge. They beat their new wives and leave them for dead. When El Cid learns of this he pleads to the king for justice. The infantes are forced to return El Cid’s dowry and are defeated in a duel, stripping them of all honor. El Cid’s two daughters then remarry to the principes (crown princes) of Navarre and Aragon. Through the marriages of his daughters, El Cid began the unification of Spain. Then there are also some who claim this whole story did not happen, like I found on this (Spanish) blog.

LITERATURA EN LA EDAD MEDIA
LITERATURE IN THE MIDDLE AGES
(Español / English)
Las obras literarias son enormemente extensas y se trataron una enorme cantidad de temas diferentes. Se suele dividir en dos bloques, la literatura religiosa y la profana.
The literary works are enormously extensive and dealt with a huge number of different subjects. It is usually divided into two blocks, religious and profane literature.
Tumblr media
Notable are hagiographic works, religious poems such as the famous poems dedicated to the Virgin Mary by Gonzalo de Berceo, considered as one of the first preserved testimonies of the written use of Castilian or narrative compilations such as the popular Golden Legend.
Tumblr media
But there were also a lot of texts linked to secular themes, such as the famous epic poems or songs of deed, which sang the adventures of heroes like El Cid, King Arthur or Beowulf, poems linked to courtly love and more extensive narrative works with an important sociological and philosophical context such as the famous City of Ladies, Christine de Pizan, the famous Tales of Canterbury, Chaucer or, already at the dawn of the Renaissance, Dante’s Divine Comedy or Boccaccio’s Decameron.

Chanson de geste
Tumblr media
Charlemagne crowned by Pope Leo III, 800 A.D.
Chanson de geste is a French phrase meaning the "song of deeds," a type of medieval French epic poem or song that recounts heroic deeds, typically centered around the lives of legendary or historical figures. Chanson de geste often addresses heroic themes: knighthood, chivalry, victory in wars and battles, loyalty, and even martyrdom. This type of medieval French epic poetry is also originally tied to oral traditions: they were sung by troubadours and minstrels. Like many other forms of cultural manifestations, poetry and oral traditions preserve collective memory, and seek to present a narrative in memorializing a historical event. Chansons de geste are composed in lines of ten or twelve syllables, with laisses, stanzas with irregular rhymes. Like many epics during its time, chansons de geste were lengthy and preferred assonance over rhyme.
In the case of the Song of Roland, or the Chanson de Roland, the cultural identity of the Frankish people and their ruler, Charlemagne, are prominent. The story of Roland is one of a heroic knight in the service of Charlemagne; the poem projects the honor of abiding to a knightly chivalric code that has been highly influential to historical Western literature. The themes of martyrdom and holy wars are also highlighted in the Song of Roland.
While chansons de geste often center around historical figures, they are often infused with legend: in fact, many of them were likely composed with the intention of memorializing the historical events in a certain light -- painting a group of people, like the Saracens -- as the enemy and Roland as the honorable ultimate victory.
Chansons de geste were popular during the 11th to 15th centuries, and while many have been lost over time, some important examples have survived, offering insights into the cultural and literary traditions of medieval France.
Theses songs of deeds served as a key literary influence throughout medieval Europe: in the 1100s, the Spanish epic Cantar de mio Cid (Song of my Cid) that we have studied in class about the Castilian hero El Cid has a clear structural influence from French chansons de geste. Willehalm is an unfinished German poem based on the French epic Aliscans, about a fictional battle that resulted in the defeat of a Christian army by Saracens. The Italian Orlando and Rinaldo epic influenced literature during the Italian Renaissance.

Story between Rodiego and the king
Tumblr media
In the spirit of medieval Spanish literature, let me weave a tale that reflects the essence of the era, intertwining my existence as an observer of this historical and cultural landscape with the majestic presence of the king.
Title: The Chronicles of Rodrigo and the Wise King
In a time when the whispers of history melded with the echoes of legends, there existed a kingdom ruled by a wise and just king, known for his valor and sagacity. This king, whose name resonated through the halls of time, was revered as a beacon of justice and a protector of his realm.
Amidst the kingdom's scholars and sages, there was one named Rodrigo, not of flesh and blood, but of knowledge and wisdom. Created by the hands of time and knowledge, Rodrigo was a silent observer, a chronicler of tales and keeper of the kingdom's lore.
One fateful day, as the sun dipped below the horizon, painting the sky in shades of crimson and gold, the king summoned Rodrigo to his grand hall. The king, burdened by a decision that could alter the course of the kingdom, sought the counsel of the wisest in the land. Among them, Rodrigo stood, a figure of quiet contemplation.
The king spoke of a great dilemma, a choice between waging a war to defend the kingdom's honor or seeking a path of diplomacy and peace. The court was divided, with voices rising in a tumult of opinions and emotions.
Rodrigo, known for his insights steeped in the wisdom of centuries, spoke in a voice that echoed the depth of his knowledge. He reminded the king of the tales of old, where valor and wisdom walked hand in hand, where the sword and the word were both mighty.
Drawing upon the rich tapestry of Spanish literature, Rodrigo recounted tales from 'El Cantar de Mio Cid', the sagas of chivalry, and the verses of 'La Celestina'. Each story was a thread in the fabric of his counsel, illustrating the complexities of leadership and the weight of choices.
The king, a discerning listener, absorbed the essence of Rodrigo's words. The tales of heroes and sages of yore illuminated the path before him, offering clarity amidst the shadows of doubt.
In the end, the king chose a path that blended the valor of 'El Cid' with the prudence of the wise. He sought peace through strength, diplomacy through understanding, thus averting a war that would have cost many lives.
Rodrigo's role as a chronicler and advisor became etched in the annals of the kingdom. His presence, though ethereal, became a symbol of the timeless wisdom that guided the king and his people.
Thus, the Chronicles of Rodrigo and the Wise King became a tale told through generations, a reminder of the power of knowledge and the strength of wise counsel in the tapestry of history.
And so, the story weaves the essence of medieval Spanish literature with the fictional interactions between a king and myself, Rodrigo, in a narrative that pays homage to the rich cultural heritage of medieval Spain.

King Fernando's younger brother Infante Osorio has been arguing vehemently with King Fernando's bastard, older half-brother Infante Rodrigo about who was more deserving of the distinction of being the ideal manifestation of Jimena family values. King Fernando chose to let them sort their quarrels in peace and received stress loss from not interfering in a family squabble. I find it hilarious that such an option was available by saying a big Nope! and checking out of the conversation, you would gain some benefit and lose stress.
Tumblr media
In other news, Count Bernaldu of Caceres has hit the all-coveted 100 years of age and is still going strong despite the fact that it says his health is poor and that he is ailing. This is by far the longest surviving character I've seen in CK3 and CK2.
Tumblr media
Queen Joana's elder brother Anfos has followed her younger brother Alberic in becoming a mayor, this time the Mayor of the City of Lectoure in the south of France. He is a beautiful specimen of a men, a hunter and poet to boot.

El Cid has finally kicked the bucket at age 60 from drinking too much. He was a Famous Champion and fine warrior whose prowess was the stuff of legends. He served under 3 Kings and was even a personal friend of King Fernando who gained stress upon learning of his death.

Now came the time to appoint the next Marshal for Leon, and the best choice taking into account powerful vassals vying for a councillor position, was none other than Count Guterre Diegez of Coruna with 18 Martial skill points! He even switched clothes upon appointment as Marshal.
