Continuing my quest to finish a list of fandom characters I've been wanting to draw, we come to Noodle herself!
Call me basic all you want but Gorillaz is seriously my favorite band of all time and rhe way they combine music and art is amazing! I have absolutely been bopping to Tranz since it came out, and so I had to draw that version of her (although her Saturnz Barz and PACMAN outfits are aesthetic af)
Anyways! Ya never know who imma draw next, so give me a follow?
Why is it funny to me how in the Tranz music video, 2D, Russ, and Noodle are dressed in regular t shirts and stuff then Ace is just going all out like he has his chest out and everything
Thought I might start doing some aesthetic/atmospheric posts based on albums, and what better place to start than arguably my favorite band of all time
came up with a live set for if gorillaz were a real band
this would be just the four we know and love – no backing choir, limited myself to only one guest performer.
M1 A1
song basically only exists to be a live opener. i'd imagine the projections behind them would have some static-y background, thus setting up the 'Static Channel' theme for...
Cracker Island
Tranz
Oil
just went with my favorite Cracker Island deep cut, since i'd assume this tour would be for that album.
Aries
Tomorrow Comes Today
Rhinestone Eyes
Silent Running
2D starts at the piano, performing the first verse and chorus alone. but after the first chorus, the rest of the band comes in and the song stars for real.
Andromeda
Dirty Harry
this would be where the one guest of the tour, Bootie Brown of the Pharcyde, is introduced! he also joins the band for...
New Gold
as the crowd cheers, and Bootie Brown leaves the stage, Noodle swaps out guitars – bringing out an acoustic guitar for...
On Melancholy Hill
Clint Eastwood (chorus)
Without an additional guest rapper, Noodle plays the melodica outro of "Clint Eastwood," leading into a cover of
Your Woman (White Town)
Gorillaz have cited this song as an influence – it makes sense, no?
DARE
2D, who has backing vocals on the studio version of "DARE," fills in for Shaun Ryder's vocals. obviously not as funny, but it lets Noodle shine more!
Skinny Ape
This closes the main set. The stage lights go off, and the show seems over, until...
Feel Good Inc.
Since it's their biggest hit, the crowd chips in for De La Soul's contributions.
