Danube and Wien Rivers Vienna Austria
Danube and Wien Rivers Vienna Austria
The Danube River in Vienna isn’t as dramatic as rivers in other European cities, like the Thames in London, Spree in Berlin, Vltava in Prague, or Seine in Paris. Unlike in Budapest, the Danube doesn’t flow through picturesque parts of the city. Instead, it crosses the upper section of Vienna away from Vienna’s Ringstrasse and the beautiful historical center. Wien River Bridge in Front of…

it's not my fault i'm in love with him. 😄🎉🎢🤢🤮 for Matt? my baby boy
From this ask game. Thanks for the ask, Soup!💕
The trio has a bonding moment experience with Vienna roller coasters. Matthew eats too much before a ride. Warning for motion sickness and emeto.
Unexpected turns
"Everyone celebrates the end of a semester, not the start of it," Matthew said, pouting his way to Prater. It was the biggest and most famous roller coaster side of Vienna - he had quite a view of it from the economy uni campus - but he hadn't been there for years. It was for little kids, damn it.
"No can do," Seline said cheerfully, determined to keep up a good mood. "We should celebrate all new beginnings and endings. And beginning semester isn't something to mourn, thank you."
"Speak for yourself. Only you can be happy about school staring," Matthew grumbled.
"What can I do? I hold the seminars now," she said smugly.
"Look at you, not losing any humility over it," Isaiah said with a snicker. He had a long black coat and by all means looked like a parent escorting them to the roller coasters. How did he make himself so much older and more serious just by looking and acting elegant? It was annoying.
"That's rich coming from 'my research project is financed directly by the government for my incredibly important goal of city planning development for mental welfare'," Seline said, turning to stick out her tounge at him.
She was so impressed and proud of Isaiah getting the position like it was her doing or something. Matthew could just roll his eyes.
When Isaiah was smooth enough not to bring it up, she always had to.
"So, what do you guys want to do first?" Isaiah asked.
Seline looked pointedly to the giant ferris wheel.
Matthew groaned. "Oh come on. At least choose something for adults."
"That's exactly for adults. You can have lunch up there, did you know? There is an awesome view with a map and it's slow enough to-"
"Exactly my point. It's slow. Let's go to something real."
"Something scary to get sick over? No way," Seline protested. "Though I wouldn't mind a big boat. The way the high swings make your stomach jump is amazing."
"And you don't wanna get sick, eh?" Matthew shook his head.
"I never get sick on boats. I love the feeling. I just don't want to scream my head off on those fast ones with crazy angled turns."
Matthew rolled his eyes. "Then our ways will be parting, I'm afraid."
Seline huffed, but she followed him to the rides nonetheless, waiting at the bench in front of it.
There was lots of fire in that sweet blond disposition of hers, and she wasn't one to back down in the smallest of things. As if sticking to her decisions was a moral mission of hers. But she still went with them, determined to make this a bonding experience.
Once you got behind the rage at how wolves treated witches and the push for affiliation with packs, Seline was actually quite lonely. It was something he was realizing only now that they were living together. Introvert alright, but even they needed contact.
On the other hand Isaiah couldn't say no to either of them. Too gracious to leave Seline alone, but when she sat down at the bank it didn't take that much convincing to get him to join him.
Matthew was excited. It was with big disappointment that he realized that not even the most brutal of roller coasters provoked any interesting reaction from Isaiah. The raven was as stoic and smooth as ever. The maximum he got was an amused smile here and there.
Maybe not everyone had to be so vocal about their emotions. Isaiah was more of a holding it all in kind of guy.
Matthew wasn't going to let that ruin the rides though. After he found the hammer, he rediscovered his childhood passion for the crazy turns and speed and couldn't get enough of them.
He could laugh and scream however he wanted, thank you.
And watching Seline's reaction was a joy. They varied between disbelieving, horrified and actually worried. Matthew got a record on the Mamba and Hammer while she shook even watching them get on and off.
When they opted for lunch at one of the cafes, Matthew had his voice almost screamed off, but he felt so happy with the adrenaline waves he had to admit it.
This was a great idea.
Seline still watched him in disbelief, like he grew a second head, but she was smiling and playing with her rings self-consciously in a way he learned to recognize. Nervous and hopeful and overthinking this. She was really trying.
The realization prompted a wave of affection swell up in his chest and he followed the impulse to throw an arm around her waist. She squealed, but didn't protest.
Matthew didn't stop there and grabbed Isaiah as well. The guy was way too polite about personal space to be spontaneous.
Matthew happily secured both of them, with himself in the middle. Seline was giggling like a little girl and Isaiah was pointedly looking away, trying to not let them see the insistent smile.
Matthew was getting more and more convinced that if those two ever acted on their attraction to each other, he of all people, would have to be the one initiating it. It was incredibly tiring just watching them skate around the issue for eternity.
Seline treated dating like job interviews - here are the 100 questions about our political and philosophical alignment plus the 5 tests on unexpected reactions and loyalty. Brrr.
Isaiah had his closeness issues of being nice to everyone and not particular to anyone. And there were the secrets and mysteries and closed doors Matthew had the feeling would have to force his way through to find out anything. Somebody would have to take them all down.
The living together helped in the sense that wolves were very territorial. Sharing close space meant they treated each other like a pack on instinct, no mind the formalities. And just like Isaiah planned, other packs saw them similarly and were much more reluctant to pick fights with them.
In no time the three of them became touchy about the shared apartment and there was the unspoken reluctance to bring visitors lightly. Thank god neither of them was into casual dating or one night stands, or that could have been a problem.
If there was a spectrum between "roomates" and a "pack" they wouldn't be quite there yet, but they would be moving up on it.
The realization, the thrill of the ride, the effort they were all obviously taking to make this work formed an new kind of untrained happiness around them as they ordered food.
Matthew felt genuinely happy. Something about having steady friends, roomates to come back to, have someone take time for him and indulge his ideas was creating incredibly strong feeling of peace and steadiness against his normally easily irrated personality. Maybe being angry and a troublemaker wasn't all he could be. Not by a long shot.
They ordered three giant meals that they shared around to get good taste. Isaiah came with the idea for proper Aperol Spritz and Seline insisted on trying out the cakes and coffee.
Matthew didn't even notice through all their grant ideas about what else to order that Seline focused too much on her Sachertorte to finish her gaint salad and that Isaiah let him eat most of his Schnitzel.
At the end, Matthew was panting with the extertion of fitting all of that food in, while the two had the audacity to watch him with taunting smiles.
"How can you fit all of that in?" Seline asked, sipping on her coffee. She always had coffee after food.
"Cause I'm no lightweight like you. Couldn't you have just taken the cake? It's the only thing you finished."
"It's a celebration!" Seline protested with a grin.
Matthew muffled a burp against his hand. His stomach was bulged out, pressing against his pants. He was satisfyingly full.
Seline scrunched her eyebrows at him playfully.
"What? My heroic effort is saving the food here, so I don't want to hear any complains," Matthew said with a shrug.
"Alright, Mr Hero. I'll ask for the check and we can go home," Isaiah said, nodding to the waiter.
"Home? Already? We still got time till it gets dark." Matthew didn't want this moment to end. Or this day. It was way too enjoyable, like a new era was starting for him.
"You can't actually want to ride anything after eating all that," Seline said, pointing at the series of empty plates on the table.
"Oh, you wanna bet?" Matthew leaned forward eagerly.
"Please, don't challenge him," Isaiah groaned.
"No, I'm serious," Matthew interrupted. "I didn't expect this to be so fun," he grinned at Seline, indirectly giving her the credit.
Seline shook her head in exasperation, blushing slightly. "I don't mind staying longer if you guys want to," she said, eyes wandering to the floor.
Matthew loved seeing this shyer side of her. It came out only when she wasn't unsure about something - which wasn't a lot - but social interactions belonged to it.
"Not too long. Just one last ride at the hammer," he promised.
Selime opted for waving them from a nearby seat at the fountains as they went to buy the coupons. Matthew had been on the hammer 3 times today already and he couldn't get enough of it. The feeling of somersaults in the air and the fast up and down movement with the spinning head left him crazy thrilled.
Isaiah watched him with an raised eyebrow as he got them both the entrance coupons and climbed up in their seats. Matthew just snickered at his concern, so the other man dutifully got his seat beat on as well.
It was middle of the second week of the semester, so Prater was empty, except for some schools kids coming in early after class. There was no better opportunity to enjoy his favourite brand of a roller coaster.
The steel of the pole keeping him in the seat felt tighter than the previous times, but Matthew didn't pay it any mind. He spend the slow ride up to the top with anticipatory grin and an occasional wave towards Seline's fountain.
And then the somersaults started.
Matthew's stomach twisted on the inside with the sudden movement. His head was spinning in a way that wasn't enjoyable in the slightest. He lost any sense of direction and orientation as if his head detached itself and simply rotated in the air, while his stomach stayed somewhere at the top of the roller coaster, not keeping up.
The wagon came to a sudden stop before speeding up again to start all over. Matthew braced against his seat, iron grip on the pole in front of him. The nausea hit him like a bus. He couldn't breathe, he couldn't tell right from left. Everything was spinning and he was very aware of his lunch twisting inside him. Like someone dropped stones into him and then started shaking them.
And then the whole ride started all over.
It was plain torture. Matthew kept all his effort on gripping the pole, closing his eyes in the process, hoping it might help with the nausea. But he felt the last bits of Schnitzel and cake mixing together at the back of his tounge. He just wanted the thing to stop.
Matthew didn't realize the hammer stopped until he felt someone's hand on his shoulder. "Matthew? Come on, it's over."
Matthew opened his eyes to slits to see Isaiah leaning over him. It wasn't enough to discern his expression though and the mere attempt had his head spinning anew.
Isaiah seemed to understand something was wrong, because he reached around him to open his seat belt and gently coaxed his hands from the pole. He was hoisting Matthew up by the elbow soon after.
Matthew followed Isaiah's effort and direction, not trying to decide anything for himself.
His stomach finally caught up with the somersaults, flipping itself up and down, right to left. Without Isaiah's strength his legs would have given up several times, except the raven always steadied him and kept them moving.
They stumbled around the back of the roller coaster to a green area, barely covered by a few bushes.
"There is a bathroom around the cor-"
Matthew interrupted him with a loud retch, stumblig forward. The pain in his stomach was coming in waves, contracting in and out.
Isaiah braced an arm against this chest and Matthew grabbed on to it with both hands as he heaved. A torrent of chunky vomit flew out of his mouth. He shook with the force, tipping forward. Isaiah braced against him to keep him up.
Just in time for round two. Matthew's body doubled over in half, projectile vomiting over Isaiah's arm.
"Okay, you are okay. Just get it up," Isaiah said, rubbing Matthew's back with the hand that wasn't currently serving as Matthew's guardrail.
Matthew could taste the whole menu coming back up, the chunky meat, the mushy cake and the soup and cola in a disgusting mix. He heaved over the grossest itself, surprised his body could still jump with so much energy.
The last wave was mostly liquid and finally allowed him a break.
Matthew panted heavily. His shirt was sticking to him, he completely sweated through it as if he jumped in a pool. He was shaking with the effort of the heaves, bracing against Isaiah and blinking dazedly.
"Better?" Isaiah asked with a sarcastic half-smile.
His stomach felt like a warezone, still flipping and twisting. He spat on the ground, which made him dry heave, but nothing else came up.
"That hurt," he croaked, one hand still holding Isaiah's arm, the going to massage the offended organ.
"I told you that wasn't a good idea right after eating," Isaiah said nonchalantly. He stayed rooted to the place, letting Matthew breathe and slowly lift himself up.
Matthew wanted to glare, but all he managed was squint at the sun. His head was still swimming and his stomach hurt like crazy. The vomiting helped with the nausea at least, though he still felt full and achy.
"You did. And yet you came with me anyway," the red haired man grumbled. It wasn't fair Isaiah got to be right and not sick at the same time.
"I didn't eat half as much as you," Isaiah said, steering Matthew away from the mess pooling at their feet. Matthew was grateful for it, cause the smell was suffocating. "And someone had to keep an eye on you."
Matthew swallowed the saliva overflowing his mouth experimentally. He was too sick to care at the time, but the emberessment was catching up to him.
"Don't tell Seline?" Matthew tried.
"I think she noticed. Asked the guy at the controls to stop it earlier."
"Ugh. What cued her in?"
"You weren't laughing on the zoomed in pictures," Isaiah said.
She was taking pictures of them on the rides? Oh my.
"I'm sorry. I didn't want to ruin-"
"Oh, shush. You didn't ruin anything," Isaiah said, carefully pushing Matthew's arm around his neck. "Don't know why you wanted to make yourself sick though."
"Thought I could take it," Matthew said tiredly, feeling stupid himself. He leaned against Isaiah, not minding how pathetic that must have looked as they maneuvered back into the street between the attractions and stands.
Matthew rested his weight on Isaiah gratefully as he watched Seline buying a set of water bottles from the nearby stand. Somehow she always managed to be very practical, when it came to a crisis situation. The picture of calm. Just like Isaiah.
He coughed and smiled to himself. Not just fair weather friends he got himself, eh?

Ferris Wheel Hire - Traditional Ferris Wheels
Hire A Ferris Wheel.   Life is like a ferris wheel, sometimes you're up sometimes you're down. You can now book one of the most iconic of the traditional rides, a Ferris wheel is superb when you need something a little slower for those who don’t want to be turned upside down and inside out. Contact Us to see what great deals are available on traditional big wheel hire. Traditional Funfair Big Wheels have been regular fixtures at funfairs throughout the world for over 100 years.  George Washington Gale Ferris Jr. designed the first ever one in 1893. Your guests will love this! They are a superb attraction, but also a landmark centrepiece for any event due to its height. Being visible from all over your venue the Wheel is sure to attract attention. A great draw for your bonfire or party night, and one of the most popular of our old fashioned attractions. When it comes round get in touch for a quote. Ferris Wheel Hire The Ferris or Big Wheel, is one of the mainstays of any funfair event. Its one of those  rides like the Carousel or Helter Skelter that is instantly familiar to everyone, being one of the iconic fairground rides. The view from the ride is unrivalled letting you look out across the entire event especially effective in a city centre. The ride consists of two giant spoked wheels parallel to each other. Between them are suspended a number of cars for the riders to sit in. As the ride turns, the cars remain upright due to being mounted on rotating axles. Sizes The rides need around 44ft width and 35ft depth for installation and 3-5 hours for setup. We have used them successfully at many indoor venues, though obviously they do need suitable headroom. There are even bigger wheels out there, usually referred to as continental observation wheels. These can be supplied, but realistically, for anything less than a major event they are prohibitively expensive. Mainly due to the logistics required to transport and install them. Safety In common with all of our attractions we supply the following with big wheel hire ; •£5-£10 Million Public Liability Insurance. •Risk Assessments. •Fire Assessments. •Wind Risk Assessments. •ADIPS Certificates. •Method Statements. •Daily Inspection Records. Many of these documents are legal requirements. Never hire from an operator that cannot supply these. There are plenty of fairground rides available to rent without you having to use a cowboy operator. Complimentary Attractions There are a number of funfair attractions that work great with wheels, if you are going for a nostalgic feel, for the fair of yesteryear, then a Carousel and helter skelter are a must. On the other hand if you are catering for todays white knuckle crowd, with Miami rides, Cyclone Twist, Waltzers and the like, the wheel makes a great chill out ride, for those a little less daring, of course the ever popular dodgems works as well. Check out our other great rides for more ideas. The very first wheel of a type that would be familiar nowadays  was called the Chicago Wheel . Designed by George Washington Gale Jr. It was 264ft (80.2) metres high. This was the tallest attraction at the Worlds Columbian Exposition in Chicago in 1893. There are historic depictions of pleasure wheels going back as far as the 1600’s. With the same basic idea though obviously with a more primitive design. The oldest surviving wheel is the antique Weiner Riesenrad operating in Vienna, built in 1897. This has enclosed cabins for groups of people to gather in rather than seats as are traditional nowadays. Most of the traditional rides in the U.K. are imported from the United States, being built by a company called Eli Bridge. The Singapore Flyer, completed in 2008 was said to cost $240 Million. The current worlds tallest wheel is 550ft high. The High Roller in Nevada U.S. The 668ft wheel in Dubai will carry 1400 passengers once it is completed. The oldest wheel still in daily use is the Riesenrad in Vienna, Austria, dating from 1897. The original wheel carried 2160 passengers in 36 cars. The first wheel charged 50 cents per ride, thats the equivalent today of $10.52 The first version cost $380,000 (the equivalent of $8,223,226) to build.HOW BIG IS A FERRIS WHEEL; The type you would normally hire for a single days event is around 25ft high, 40ft wide and 33ft deep. HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO HIRE A WHEEL; It depends where and when but the cost would range from £1400 to £2500 CAN I HIRE A FERRIS WHEEL NEAR ME; We offer a service throughout the U.K., so we should be able to provide a ferris wheel to your event. Henry Wolf. Vienna Ferris Wheel from Orson Welles’ “The Third Man”, 1957
this black-and-white image is very different than any amusement park photo I have taken. For starters it's in black-and-white, most of mine have been colors to capture the fun, attractive colors, and innocence in a giant playground. Also, there are people on the ride actively in the moment and in motion. Most of my images are without people during the off-season where some parts of the ride tracks or carts are missing and put in storage until next spring/summer.
I like to think that this was a beautiful early spring day, the background and sky appears to be clear and the woman is dressed in a skirt. Do you think back in the 50s the swings had yet to make pair seats because today they exist. Though I am sure it's meant for parent and child, not two adults. So for safety was the first woman and man on a date and should be together and the man in the background is the third wheel friend or he is just in frame on accident?

concrete pillars Urban nature and a tiny piece of street-art underneath the road in praterpark Wien or Vienna with still sirup-like water by Danny Hennesy Via Flickr: I lived on Landstrasse or to narrow it down on the main street in the Lanstrasse district in Vienna named Landstrasser Hauptstrasse or Landstraßer Hauptstraße if you want to use the double s letter of german language that is I lived quite close to the Prater park the best and and largest park in Vienna, I just had to go down the stairs or go by Aufzug (elevator/lift) down to street level, then turn away from the larger main street down the smaller gasses named keinergasse (very funny name) and then pass the Danube or Donau canal or kanal often by the small pedestrian bridge full of locks... then you would be in the park, the park was once just for the vienna society and even further back the Emperors private hunting ground... or as my plastic Daughter said at the time: this Emperor filled a lot of unnecessary space in Vienna, Schönbrunn, the Palace and more... ...in this park there was the famous giant Reisenrad a Ferris wheel I have heard about all my childhood, especially by my Granddad... this giant wheel is in a tivoli in the park... you could also see the twin-city line a boat going between Vienna and Bratislava pass by there, it is called the twin city line because Vienna and Bratislava is so close only about 30 km or so, I planned to walk to Bratislava but never did, didn´t really have the time, otherwise I love walking, but we went to Bratislava by car once, a pretty city, quite much like a tiny Vienna, just cleaner somehow... close to this park the was a stadium, when the wind was in the right direction and if the was a concert or sporting event, you could hear it on our rooftop apartment... this picture however is taken in the this park... Peace and Noise! / MushroomBrain still missing my home

Next, we'll head to the Hofburg Palace, the former imperial palace of the Habsburg dynasty. We'll speed through the palace's grand courtyards and ornate halls, including the famous Spanish Riding School and the imperial apartments of Emperor Franz Joseph and Empress Elisabeth.
We'll then take a spin on the iconic Wiener Riesenrad, a giant Ferris wheel that has been a fixture of the Vienna skyline since 1897. From the top, you'll enjoy stunning views of the city and the surrounding countryside.

You can come through the grand entrance and take you on a behind-the-scenes tour of this magnificent venue.
The Karlskirche is a beautiful baroque-style church that was built in the early 18th century. We'll take you on a speedy tour of the church's stunning dome and intricate frescoes are a sight to behold. The church's interior included its ornate pulpit and altar.
One of our stops is the Albertina Museum, where we'll marvel at its vast collection of art, including works by famous names like Monet, Picasso, and Durer.

The world-famous amusement park Prater, which has been featured in many movies and whose iconic Ferris wheel is photographed by everyone at least once, is among the most important symbols of Vienna. There are many features that distinguish the Prater from ordinary amusement parks. During your time here, you will be full of adventure and fun, enjoy the city view from the top and learn the history of one of the oldest and most famous entertainment centers in history. Prater is home to 250 different attractions, from nostalgic machines to modern roller coasters. The most important attraction that has made the Prater the symbol of the city is the giant Ferris wheel called the Giant Ferris Wheel, which has been in existence since 1827. It is possible to see this Ferris wheel from all over the city. Apart from this, there are roller coasters, horror tunnels, mirror mazes and many attractions for children. Although the Giant Ferris Wheel and a few important attractions are open all year, most of the tools in the park are in service between March and October. The cafés, restaurants, pâtisseries and street food stands inside are also quite delicious. You need to buy a ticket to ride the toys in the Prater. Each ticket usually costs around 2-4 Euros. At the ticket office, there is important information about both the history of Vienna and the history of this very special amusement park. In other words, you can also be informed while waiting in line for tickets. In addition, there are models that refer to Prater in the box office, so it is possible to have a lot of information before visiting. Apart from these parts, there is also a garden called Stadtpark, which hosts different activities in summer and winter, inside the amusement park. Stadtpark is also known as the 'Green Prater'. If you want to enjoy nature in the middle of Vienna, you should definitely visit the park, which is shown as one of the most beautiful parks in the world. Stadtpark, which is the first choice of the local people for activities such as walking, picnic, and cycling with its flowering trees in summer, turns into a huge playground in winter with a snow machine. If you ride the famous Ferris wheel at sunset, you can also enjoy a magnificent view of Vienna in the evening. The Prater is located in the Leopoldstadt district. It is free to enter, but if you want to take advantage of the attractions, you have to buy a ticket. Ticket prices vary depending on how many vehicles you take and which ones you get on. Address: Prater 7/1 | Riesenradplatz 1, Vienna Directions: It is possible to reach Prater easily with the U1 metro line. Nearby Places: Kunts Haus Vienna, Madame Tussaud Museum

Europe 2022 - Austria (day 8/9) - Vienna
This morning 8 members of the group headed back to Canada. After saying goodbye to them, I had one last dip in the pool and a rest in a thermal lounger before taking the train to Vienna. I met Karine (friend who I met in Rio) at the train station and we headed to the hotel to drop off my luggage. We then headed straight to the Palace and Gardens of Schönbrunn. The 1,441-room Rococo palace is one of the most important architectural, cultural, and historic monuments in the country. The history of the palace and its vast gardens spans over 300 years, reflecting the changing tastes, interests, and aspirations of successive Habsburg monarchs. I remember visiting the palace back in 1986 when the Regina Lions Band toured Vienna. After strolling through the gardens and getting some photos, we took the train to the Naschmarkt. Some of the stalls had started to pack up but we did have a chance to look around and then stop for an elderflower cordial (water steeped with elderberry flower heads). Next we walked through some of Karine’s favourite quaint neighbourhoods filled with secret gardens, small cafes, old chutches and picturesque walkways. We stopped a few times for a drink at little cafes as it was 34 degrees outside. We also stopped at a restaurant on the 6th floor of a mall for views of the city. Our final stop was supper for the best chicken cordon bleu schnitzel & potato salad and an improv show. After the show we took the train back to the hotel.
The next morning, we headed to a quaint outdoor breakfast cafe for breakfast then we headed to Prater for a ride of the Giant Ferris wheel for high views of Vienna. After the highflying ride we headed to the most popular ice cream shop for a mandatory scoop (or 2) of gelato. We then walked over to the famous St. Stephen’s Cathedral - an awe inspiring Gothic Cathedral with two spires and a mosiac tiled roof. For a quick bite, we stopped at Trzesniesky’s for their famous small open faced sandwiches. Trzesniewski sandwiches are simple: fresh, dark rye bread, cut into small rectangle shapes and smothered in various spreads, from tomato and paprika to egg mayonnaise, or salmon and cream cheese. I tried the egg & tuna, egg & mushroom, and egg & crab. We then headed to the Innere Stadt (center or 1st district) to see the Imperial Palace, Musuems, Library and Opera house. After walking around in the heat for a few hours, we stopped at Volksgarten Park and sat in the shade of the rose garden before heading back to the hotel. Unfortunately, there was a medical emergency somewhere on the tracks, so we were removed from the train before getting to the hotel. We quickly grabbed a taxi back to the hotel to grab luggage and then to the main train station to catch my train to Nuremberg. Thanks Karine for being an excellent tour guide of this wonderful city.

The Favor: Part 3, London, England
psychotically posting for the second time today to hopefully cheer up @amillcitygirl who is having a lousy Monday. This is the third and final part, I hope you all enjoy! This was such a fun prompt!
(Part 1) (Part 2)
London, England
It was raining once again, but she was used to it and in all honesty it suited her mood.
“It’s like this city doesn’t understand the importance of a good blow out,” Marg complained as she lowered the umbrella so that it was fully encasing them.
She smiled, “I told you it wouldn’t be worth it.”
“Well I’m sorry we can’t all throw our hair into a low bun and look like a perfect Parisan girl with poreless skin!” Marg argued.
She fought the urge to roll her eyes, knowing that Margaery was in a mood because she’d been in a mood.
It was impossible not to be. Not when they’d figured out on the way to Milan that she’d actually found him. Robb. Her Robb. The boy she’d thought of after every bad date. The one who’d become her stand-in for a prince from a fairy tale.
When Harry had cheated on her during her first year at Cambridge, she’d told herself somewhere out there is a boy named Robb who would never do this to me.
She understood logically that this was ridiculous. That she didn’t know him from Adam and he might be a full-blown sociopath. But the point of a fantasy was that you didn’t have to get bogged down in reality.
And in her fantasy, Robb was the one boy in the whole world who would never hurt her.
Except, he wasn’t a boy anymore. He was a man. That was the only explanation for how she hadn’t recognized him.
He had been beautiful when he was younger, now though he was… it made her body tingle just to think about him. He’d grown a beard, he was broader, there was… wisdom in those blue eyes of his.
And the fact of the matter was, that over the years, she’d forced herself to think about him less. It wasn’t to be, she was never going to see him again and she knew that and it wasn’t healthy for anybody measuring up real guys to a figment of her imagination.
But then they’d been on the train to Milan, trying to figure out what photos to post and what to caption them, and she’d gone to the kissing picture.
“You have such a type,” Marg laughed. “I can spot them from a mile away.”
“Well can you blame me? Look at him,” she noted. Then she did just that. “No wait, look at him. That’s… that’s him… that’s Robb!”
“No it’s not, don’t be ridiculous,” Marg told her.
“Pull up that post- I swear to God it’s him,” she said.
Marg opened her phone and scrolled through Instagram and found her post. They put the phones side by side.
“Oh… oh my god,” Marg said.
“It was him,” Ella realized, leaning back against her seat. “He was right there… and I… ran away.”
“El…,” Marg lamented.
“It’s fine,” she shook her head, “I’m fine. I’m just being stupid.”
Margaery looped her arm through hers and leaned her chin on her shoulder, “Want to know what I think?”
Ella felt her lip quivering and nodded before leaning her head on top of Marg’s.
“I think, that fate has a plan for the two of you,” Marg told her, “And I’ve read enough mythology to know that you don’t stand a chance against it.”
Ella let out a teary laugh, “I’m so glad you’re a Classics major.”
“That,” Marg pointed to the picture of Robb from the day before, “Is a hero, if ever there was one.”
She wasn’t so sure that she needed a hero. But a boyfriend that looked like him would be pretty nice.
Though she’d tried her best, she hadn’t been able to get out of her funk. Marg had come all this way only to be at her side as she sulked her way through Italy.
So when they’d woken up this morning and Marg had determined she didn’t care whether it was touristy or not, they were going on the London Eye today, she hadn’t had it in her to deny her.
They’d stopped at Bluebird for a coffee and breakfast, Marg smiling coquettishly at the Chelsea boys who lingered by their table. None of them interested her though.
She’d convinced Marg to take the tube, telling her there was more to London than black taxis, and that she had to get used to it as she’d be taking it every day. That or the bus. She hadn’t really figured it out yet.
Living in Chelsea wasn’t the most convenient neighborhood of London to live in to attend the London School of Economics, but her family had a townhouse there that no one was using so it had made sense. Plus she loved Chelsea, she always had. And the townhouse. The fact that she could walk across the bridge and be at Battersea Park. That she could walk a few blocks in and be in South Kensington, at the Victoria & Albert Museum. Her mother had always used London as their jumping off point for their overseas travels, so it had always felt a little like home.
When she’d gone to her undergrad at Cambridge, her and her friends would come down for long weekends and reading weeks, alternating nights at Raffles and indie shows in Camden.
And now she was living here, full time. That was enough to bring a smile to her face as they stepped onto the London Eye, hooking her arm through Marg’s.
They were the first to step on and Marg took advantage by determining the perfect spot for them to stand, and they settled in, grabbing their phones. She was sort of glad that Marg had suggested this, she’d never do it on her own and it really would be a great way to see the city.
Soon the capsule filled up and she felt them starting to move.
“No stop it I’m not doing that,” they heard a voice behind them say, “Because it’s different for girls!”
“Just-“
“No Theon! You want to do it so bad, you do it,” they heard.
“Excuse me, people are trying to enjoy the majesty here,” Marg suggested.
She covered her mouth to hide her laugh, squeezing Marg’s arm.
“Oh I’m sorry,” they heard and turned around, “You see my friend here he-“
“Ella?” a voice asked.
No not a voice. That voice.
That had been different too. More developed. Deeper. Sexier.
“Robb?” she wondered.
“Wait Ella Ella?” one of his friends asked, looking her over, “Okay, now I get it.”
“Oh my god it is you!” Marg laughed pointing at Robb.
He was even more handsome than she remembered, standing there with rain drops in his curls. He was tan, clearly having just been on his own holiday, an adorable strip of pink on the bridge of his nose.
His eyes were wandering over her, a smile growing on his face.
“Hey I –“
“No!” he held his hand up, “Just… shush for a second.” She glanced at his friends who were openly gaping at him. Marg was smirking. Robb reached into his pocket and pulled out his phone and handed it to her. “Please just put your full name and telephone number and I don’t know… maybe an emergency contact in there – and then I’ll kiss you in front of whatever landmark you want me to. I’ll kiss you at the DMV. I’ll kiss you at the Post Office. I don’t care, I’ll kiss you anywhere and everywhere just while I… please don’t run away again.”
“We’re literally on a giant ferris wheel where the fuck do you think she’s gonna go?” his friend asked.
“Shut up, Theon,” Robb and their other friend said.
She took his phone, trying not to smile, and typed Ella Baratheon and then her telephone number into his phone. She looked at it to make sure that it saved, and then opened up his contacts again to double check before handing it back to him.
His eyes hadn’t left her and he shook his head, “It is you… right?”
It had been a long time since she’d channeled her inner Audrey, but she couldn’t help but smile and ask, “Didn’t I tell you in Paris that we’d meet again?”
“Oh my god,” Marg murmured.
“I’m Theon by the way,” Theon stage whispered to Marg.
“Are you seriously hitting on me in the middle of our friend’s five year meet-cute?” Marg asked him.
That seemed to shame Theon who promptly shut up.
“I didn’t know it was you, in Rome,” she told Robb. “I didn’t know, I wouldn’t have run away I… it’s you.”
Robb smiled and he nodded, “It’s me.” Then looked around, “Some guy you kissed in Vienna isn’t going to jump out and kick my ass, is he?”
She laughed and shook her head, “No… that was a two time thing. Promise.”
“Told you,” Robb said to his friends, but his eyes stayed on her.
“Marg?” she asked.
“Yeah El?” Marg responded.
“Get your camera ready,” she told her.
And with that she leapt into Robb’s arms. As though he’d been about to reach out and grab her anyway, he caught her easily. His lips pressed against hers and though the other kisses had been good, this one was better because it was him and he didn’t want her to run away and he was holding her like he’d stop her if she tried.
One of his hands moved up her back and went into her hair before cupping her cheek, kissing her deeply, as though he’d been just as miserable as she was these last few days.
“We’ve got the picture,” Theon informed them after they’d been kissing for at least a minute.
“From multiple different angles,” their other friend sighed.
“Lean her back a bit more,” Marg suggested.
She started laughing against Robb’s lips as he started laughing against hers. They broke apart but he kept holding her and she leaned her cheek against his as they turned.
“Hi I’m Ella,” she greeted his friends.
“Jon, nice to meet you,” one of them said.
“I’m Theon,” the other one said, “And you owe me a trip to Ibiza because he ruined mine moping about you.”
“I’m sorry,” she laughed, “What if I um… convince Marg here to let you buy her a drink?”
“Ella!” Marg chided.
“Oh come on Marg,” she grinned, and just as Marg had five years earlier, she teased, “I dare you.”

ARE FERRIS WHEELS SAFE; All of our attractions are tested annually by an independent engineer, they have full risk assessments and method statements supplied with them, and they carry a daily check book showing the ride has been checked that day. Hire a funfair ferris wheel, available throughout the U.K. and Europe. Including Scotland, London, Lancashire Yorkshire, The North East and The Midlands. Its a perfect addition to any Military ball, college function, wedding, birthday party, exhibition, company event or corporate event or fun day. Crazy golf courses. Hire Dodgems 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 Read the full article
