a female character isn't allowed to be a character that is also female. she isn't allowed her own agency and complex motives nor any deeper emotions without it being centered around the male cast around her or a child. even if she's not a mother, she remains one because she could always potentially become a mother or she is the ‘mom character’ to the men/children around her and her actions MUST reflect that. if they don't, she's labeled a selfish bitch. if she is an (actual) mother than that's all she is—she isnt allowed deeper characterization or discussion because thats all she'll ever be, that's all she was made to be. male characters are allowed to be fathers (lireral or in the sense of providing for the people around them) with deeper feelings but a mother? never a mother.

In terms of Wenclair nicknames, I believe in ‘Enid using Willa’ supremacy and φεγγάρι μου (‘my moon’ in Greek) is especially beloved to me, but I also love little shit Enid who calls Wednesday any day of the week EXCEPT Wednesday (“Hey, Monday!” “What do you think about this Sabbath?” “Oh thank god you’re here Friday”) and it annoys her favorite murder goth to NO END but slowly said murder goth becomes endeared by her roomate’s antics as feelings start to tumble and bloom away. She starts to pine and internally call Enid her Alectrona (a greek goddness of the Sun, known for sunrise or ‘waking from slumber’, a perfect combo of how Enid brings light to Wednesday as well as her inner wolf finally waking up), but slowly she starts using it out loud along with “mi sol” (‘my sun’, Spanish), “mon petit chiot” (‘my little pup’, French), and “la mia vita” (‘my life’, Italian). Enid melts everytime without fail and stutters in Greek and honestly? Who could blame her when Wednesday has that passionately lovestruck shine in her eyes as adoration drips from devout lips.

Tyland is not remembered fondly, partly due to his physical appearance after being tortured and partly due to his actions during the Dance of the Dragons. Some blacks hated him for having urged King Aegon II Targaryen to put Aegon the Younger to death and some greens hated him for serving Aegon III faithfully in the aftermath of the war. (x)

The statement “That show is disrespectful to its Black characters” is unfortunately applicable to almost every show ever broadcasted, which is a disheartening realization. In this instance, though, I’m talking about House of the Dragon. 

Laena's erasure from Rhaenyra's life to make room for a friendship between two white women that did not exist in the original source material. She is isolated from her family so that Daemon can be separated from Rhaenyra, which isn't what happened in the books. It's frustrating to watch Black characters isolated and used as plot devices.

The show's treatment of Baela and Rhaena is also problematic. There are inconsistencies in the plot, such as Daemon ignoring Rhaena even though he didn't have a dragon until later in life. Baela going to foster at Driftmark when it should be Luke and Rhaena. It's disappointing that we don't see more of Laena with her family on Driftmark or her claiming Vhagar.

Additionally, it's strange that Jaehaerys is depicted as white as snow when his mother was Black and his father was at least half Black based on show lore. The Targaryens have historically intermarried with the Velaryons, so they shouldn't be all white, at least not at this point in their history. It seems like the show may have made the Velaryons Black solely to push the Strong boys' narrative, without considering the wider implications. This is negligent at best and malicious at worst.
