Summary: In which Skyfire teaches Sideswipe a lesson.

Skyfire stared at his reflection in the mirror with wide optics. His processor had stalled momentarily, trying to understand what exactly he was looking at.

Instead of the normal white paintjob with a dash of red and blue he normally sees when he wakes up from recharge, Bumblebee yellow with small black and white squares running up his sides has taken its place. On his front, written in bold letters, was "Taxi Bot."

It was those painted words that brought the answer to the mystery of who the culprit was. Someone red. Someone who loved pushing the buttons on anyone they deemed worthy of it. Someone who was about to learn why you don't light bombs that have fuses that stretch for miles on end. Because it's those bombs that cause the biggest explosions in the most unexpected of ways.

Thunder rumbled inside Skyfire's head as he muttered one word in a voice colder than the ice that had imprisoned him for millions of years.

"Sideswipe."

"Dang it, Skyfire, put me down!"

The said cherry goblin was squirming with all his might, trying to break free from the iron grip of the shuttle. To say Sideswipe was shocked when Skyfire stormed into the rec room while he was having his energon and being snatched up before he could do anything would be an understatement. The shock soon switched to determination to get out of the embrace and get back to his energon.

Skyfire was not having it. "I could tolerate somewhat being called a taxibot, Sideswipe. But painting me like one is one step too far," he said, staring down at the Lambo sternly.

"It was just a prank for Primus's sake," Sideswipe exclaimed. "Besides, you're not the only one to have that happen too. Just lighten up already." He tried biting into Skyfire's hands to make him let go, but to no avail.

"That's enough." The Shuttle changed his grip so Sideswipe wouldn't try biting again. "I believe a little punishment is in order for this." He scanned the room and spotted a large chair made for larger frames. With Sideswipe still in his grip, he walked over to it.

"You're going to sit right here until I'm ready to move as well."

That got Sideswipe to stop squirming and look up at Skyfire defiantly. "Oh yea? What's stopping me from getting up? And what do you mean when you're ready?

The shuttle brought the Lambo to eye level so he could see the smirk blooming on his faceplate. And what is that glint in Skyfire's optics? "Because I never said you'd be sitting by yourself."

Faster than Sideswipe could comprehend, he was quickly dumped into the chair, and the last thing he saw was a shuttle-sized aft coming down at him before the world went white.

"Hey, Prime."

Optimus looked up from the report he was writing to see Bumblebee standing outside his office. "What is it?" It didn't escape his notice that the minibot was trying and failing not to grin.

Bumblebee took a moment to compose himself. "I think you're needed in the rec room right now."

Optimus gave a weary sigh at that. "If it has to do with Sideswipe, Prowl is capable of taking care of it," he said, getting back to his writing.

"Actually, it also has to do with Skyfire as well," Bumblebee clarified.

That got Optimus's attention, and he looked back up at the minibot. "How?" As far as he remembered, Skyfire never gave anyone trouble.

Bumblebee merely waved for Optimus to follow. "I think you need to see this for yourself."

Abandoning the datapad for now, the two of them walked to the rec room to see what the problem was. They heard it before getting there.

"Get off of me, you slagging shuttle!"

They walked in, and Optimus had to reset his optics when he saw it.

Skyfire was sitting in a large chair, reading from a datapad. A cube of energon was standing on one of the arm rests. Normally, something like that would not be worth paying attention to. It was the red mech having a fit underneath said Shuttle that was making it worth it.

"Skyfire, I mean it. You're crushing me; get off!" Sideswipe tried once again to beg for deliverance from this crushing punishment.

A hum of acknowledgement was all the Lambo would get from Skyfire. More pressure was put on him when the shuttle shifted a bit to get more comfortable. Skyfire took a second to check his internal chromometer. "Ten more minutes, and then you can get up, Sideswipe. I hope I won't have to do this again. I don't really like punishing anyone, even you, believe it or not," he admitted with a small smile, moving a free hand underneath him to give a pat to the squished mech. "Even if you do get on my nerves."

Optimus and Bumblebee continued staring at the whole thing in silence. Bumblebee looked up at his leader and broke it. "So, are you going to do anything about this, Prime?"

Optimus kept staring at Skyfire, who took a break from reading for a sip of energon, and at Sideswipe, who had not yet resigned to being a chair cushion for ten more minutes.

"No."

Without another word, he turned around and walked in the direction of his office, leaving behind a confused Bumblebee. Sideswipe made his bed, and he will say good night, sleep in it tightly, and won't let the scraplets bite. Though by this time he'll take the scraplets over being sat on any day, thank you.

Funny thought.

G1 Starscream disappears for six months. At first, no one thinks anything of it. He'd been distant since he's and Megatron's last big disagreement.

It had been because the sentient AI Starscream had been toying with he'd stolen from humans ended up accidentally being uploaded to the 'Roomba' the Constructicons were building to clean up the Victory. The Roomba given a knife by Rumble and nicknamed Lord Stabbington had Decepticon coding and decided it should rule them. It then began slowly building an army of hive mind clones that together almost succeeded in a plot to kill them which eventually dragged the Autobots into because the Roombas installed antigravs and chased them to the surface. It was due to the shared work of the Lambo Twins and Starscream that they were finally defeated.

Starscream got in trouble and grounded from lab privileges and had been sulking going on long solo fights and pick-up runs to Jupiter.

Then one day he just didn't return. Everyone assumed it was a long sulk, probably the last bit before a new scheme. Then they thought it was a scheme a la the Combaticons and people were quietly contacted. Then concern or something close to it happened and Megatron got some suspicious side eyes from Acting Air Commander Thundercracker. Finally Jazz ends up joke-asking if they'd offed Starscream and Megatron orders a search and to check if the Autobots have him.

Nothing turns up and it is tense. No one has seen him. No obe on Earth or Cybertron.

Then as casual as you please he comes sauntering in completely unaffected dropping off the ore he'd promised Hook to pick up while he was out, ignoring every shock looked as he made his way to Megatron refusing to acknowledge anything happened.

All with a small (strangely small actually) little red-white-and-blue-with-a-little-splash-of-yellow Sparkling magnetized to him who chirps and smiles at everyone he meets and is the sweetest thing on the planet and horrifyingly, undeniably Starscream's spawn.

He introduces him as Star Saber and thus starts the hunt for who's the Sire. Starscream post return puts in and approves his own request for carrying leave.

things i’ve been wondering about that may or may not mean anything:

henry wearing something from endgame right after he and ted talk about how ted needs to (try to) win the whole thing and that he would only be away from henry for something really important. feels like that definitely lends itself to ted’s endgame being returning to kansas for henry once he’s done the work he set out to do, not only with making the himbos the best versions of themselves, but elevating the team itself

the last lego ted puts away is a yellow one. there are already a bunch of parallels and references to the wizard of oz in this series, so mightn’t the lego be another? in this case to the yellow brick road that in the movie/novel leads to dorothy having adventures for which she’s unprepared but prevails and ultimately leads to her journey of self-discovery and getting back home

keeley and roy’s legos are separated from one another. all by itself that indicates trouble in paradise, but even more so is the fact that nate’s position changes — ted brings him closer, indicating the likely event that the two of them will mend fences, or at least that nate will start on the right path — yet keeley and roy’s remain apart

nate gets an aston martin, which is the same brand of car that jamie has. out of all the luxury options they could have chosen, they chose to not only double up brands (which i don’t believe they’ve done before; colin has a lambo, sam has a tesla, nate had a mini cooper, etc.), but double up with jamie’s brand, jamie who already has parallels up the wazoo with nate. additionally, it’s new and was given to nate. this in opposition to jamie’s car, which is several years old and which he presumably bought with his own money. as in, him ending up at west ham the way he did isn’t a natural course, it’s not the place he’s meant to be nor is the persona he’s presenting to the world (and to himself) the real him

So I'm scared to ask, but since it's more than likely kup and arcee would be the drill Sergents on training day. What is bots training regiment like?

Kup is the one overseeing training sessions due to her decades of experience! Arcee not so much, she’s been out of the military scene for years and she honestly doesn’t have the same taste for discipline that Kup does.

For most part it’s actually not as arduous as you might think, especially for the more rank and file members since the Autobots are less of a military squad and more of a very physical NGO.

There are daily weekday training sessions the team usually takes part in if they haven’t just returned from a mission (48 to 72 hour decompression time depending on the length/intensity of the mission, not factoring in any injuries which will add recovery time), or aren’t in the red/orange/yellow Med Bay zone. A member can skip out on one or two sessions for various reasons, but three consecutive misses without reason is usually grounds for a private conversation with Kup on “Hey, what’s going on here” and potential removal from the active roster until she can approve them as still being fit for field duties. Better than you’re bored doing paperwork here than dead out there because you slipped up.

These sessions are usually from 12-3pm, divided between basic conditioning/upkeep (your usual drills) that vary in intensity depending on person in question (As an example, Frontliners like the Lambo Bros undergo far more intensive drills than say, Mirage or Perceptor due to their designations) and more specialized training for those who work with weapons.

Someone like Windblade would have a weekday 1.5hr conditioning/drills and 1.5hr on swordsmanship training alongside Drift and Sideswipe.

There is something akin to the X-Men’s Danger Room on-base which Percy and Wheeljack both programmed which the Bots can use as well for a more ‘interactive’ training session, and it’s not uncommon to see them hosting little weekend games in it that combines training and team-building. That said, most of them are allowed and encouraged to take weekends off training in normal situations, some just join these games for the competitive fun of it.

Note that for the melee fighters like HotRod/Strongarm/Lambros they sometimes also have their own gym sessions (usually an hour) later at night on top of that. Sideswipe’s arms, Strongarm’s thighs and Sunny’s abs aren’t going to maintain themselves!!
