~bit of rambling under the cut~

i (like a lot of the moral orel community, actually) really like this episode! its a dark one, sure, but i think it was executed beautifully, especially for adult animation of the time. but uhh yeah!! i love these three (ok maybe not censordoll, she’s kinda rude, but still sympathetic i guess) and they really deserve whatever happy endings they were going to get in the cut seasons

sPEAKING OF THE CUT sEASONS- for sculptham’s drawing in this set i kinda (?) based it on the script for “r^ped,” although very very loosely, it was kinda an afterthought with just general vibes. also, with sculptham’s i had a great fun time drawing stretch marks :) 

i think my favorite of these is nurse bendy?? idk i’m personally proud of them all but i like the composition of bendy’s :)

anyway yeah yeah have a good rest of your day/night and uhh moral orel is cool go watch it if you haven’t, or, hell idk rewatch it if you have lol

In your swap au, have you got any ideas for miss sculpthams character?

Yes! Also I should credit @kanrix for that initial drawing he did of swap Bloberta that inspired me to keep going off it and flesh out the au lol

Ms Sculptham is the principal at Diorama Elementary (which I guess includes middle school/junior high levels lol). Also Ms Secondopinionson is Orel's teacher, and Fakey is filling the void in the track coach category (but I didn't want to draw him lol) One big change besides the profession for Agnes is that Mary (I think that's her name) Plotwist from the scrapped s3 episode is her secretary and girlfriend (I think she had long brown hair in the script? So I improvised)!

My stupid Moral Orel S3: E4 - Alone analysis. Fuck this episode was so accurate and I want to hate it but I really just love it.

Might as well start with the hard one, Nurse Bendy. I've never seen a better representation of a SA victim anywhere. Like fuck, it almost made me cry. Her scenes go on for what, maybe three minutes? But it was enough. They made the best use of that time as they could.

Some parts of her personality are so relatable that it hurts, but in a kinda good way. I really like how she dives into more "childish" things when she gets home. I love her prayer where she talks about her feelings, crying before going back into her coping. I love how betrayed she is near the end. That feeling of thinking someone is so safe and being betrayed anyway is awful, and I think everyone could relate to that, not just victims.

The voice actress for her did an amazing job, it's one of the best performances in the entire show, only next to everything that happened in the Nature episodes.

And then there's Ms. Sculptham. Her scenes are less impactful, but still amazingly written. The OCD that she displays is so obvious that I only needed about 30 seconds to pick up on it, and it's done so well. Her stress comes through amazingly without there even needing to be dialogue. (Which is perfect, as OCD is often a silent struggle.)

And her intrusive thoughts? I've never seen intrusive thoughts represented so amazingly. Agnes' segments in Alone show such a perfect representation. The way they feel like they're all around you, consuming you. No matter how hard you try, they flicker in the forefront of your mind (which is how I interpreted the visions of her old self and Creepler in the mirror.) Overall it's such a good, well written episode. I don't normally do analyses but I just felt like I had to say something about this one. I cannot believe that this is the episode that killed Moral Orel (or so I hear.) Adult Swim is fine with these topics when they're jokes, but not when they're presented seriously apparently.

Kinda wish Miss Sculptham saw that her basically manipulating Doughy for presents was actually kind of wrong when she sees that his parents don’t care for him and that he’s just looking for love and affection and that her and her lesbian wife that she was eventually supposed to get adopt him and show him a real loving parental relationship.

Bendy and Agnes

Ok, I think I misunderstood Nurse Bendy's story. I think Bendy had black hair and something long but she later painted it yellow so as not to look like a lady librarian.

What I mean is that it's very interesting that it's like this… Nurse Bendy would change her hair color to suit her husband and Teacher Agnes would change her hair color to capture the perpetrator.

Both suffer from doing that, it's like giving up on yourself….
