So, I want to confess something. I believe I speak for everyone when I say that the SA in LO is not only poorly written but very mishandled and was unnecessary. I want to point out I am not a SA victim, so I can not say with experience how well the deception was. Though I do know people in real life that were victims, I also don’t want to disclose their stories either. But, here’s the thing. I personally don’t mind SA in the media, if it is handled with care and they portray it as a serious issue!
The problem I have with most media is that shows and stories will either use SA as A. A plot device for romance development. B. Shock value or C. A joke. So many media I’ve watched use SA as any of the three categories (13 Reasons Why and content from Vivziepop being a few that I can think of off the top of my head). The only show I can think of that actually portrays SA seriously and shows real life impact is Tuca and Bride. I also think it’s pretty hypocritical that the media will use SA as long as they fall into any of the three categories, but when you want to show the negative effects of it like in Moral Orel, suddenly you get canceled! Again, Hypocrites! I also don’t think first time writers should write this kind of stuff, and Rachel is no exception. You can tell she didn’t know what she was doing, based on how little importance the SA has on the plot or how it falls into said categories as well. (and the rumors that she didn’t even know it was SA doesn’t help).
Now, that being said I don’t think a SA plot line was a bad idea for this kind of story. Again, the original myth was “The abduction of Persephone” and in some versions, Hades did force himself onto Persephone. And considering Ancient Greece was rife with many stories of such heavy topics, I can see why they would include that. My personal issue with LO’s SA plotline… is Apollo! First of all, while Apollo may have had some questionable relationships in his myths, he never really forced himself on anyone. In fact, the most famous story of him chasing Daphne was only because he was under the influence of Eros, meaning Apollo had no agency in loving Daphne. Second, Apollo had nothing to do with Persephone. They never interacted in any myths. Sure, there was one myth where Apollo asked Demeter for her daughter’s hand and Demeter rejected, but that’s it. The two never had any relationship. So it makes the plot line even more convoluted because of their lack of historical and mythical connection. Though, I do admit I kind of like Apollo and Persephone as a couple (In Rekindled not Lore Olympus), but I know they don’t get together.
Honestly, if Rachel really wanted to do a SA story that would prop up Hades without demonizing anyone, she could have done that! By making Persephone’s assaulter be Zeus instead of Apollo! Hear me out, in some stories, Zeus actually disguised himself as Hades and slept with Persephone, thus it resulted in Zagerus. So, it is canon in a sense that Zeus did SA Persephone. Not only that, but given he had a role to play in the “Abduction of Persephone” where he sold his daughter off to Hades, this makes him even more impactful to the story. He could be the villain instead of Demeter, who wants to use Persephone. And considering Zeus’s love affairs and his god complex (no pun intended) he would believe he was entitled to Persephone and would want to have her as a secret concubine.
Maybe Zeus would be able to learn more about Persephone through Hera and he would decide to set his sights on her. He could try and get closer to her as she is naive and never met the King of Gods, and would use her trust to pounce on her (Because in SA cases, your attacker is more likely to be someone close to you rather than a stranger.) And maybe Zeus would blackmail Persephone so she would have to keep seeing him or else get kicked out of school and be a disgrace to her mother. Then, you could have Hades find out and he would rage against Zeus. Maybe Hades would get Demeter involved and they would team up to punish the King all for the sake of protecting Persephone. Hades would suggest making Persephone his queen for protection, and Demeter would make the world grow cold unless Zeus complies, thus explaining Winter. Zeus would agree to give Persephone to Hades, and she will be under Hades’s protection. But Persephone would still want to be with her mother, so Demeter and Hades make custody arrangements.
Bam! A SA plot line that A. Actually adds to the story and raises stakes. B. Makes a terrifying but complex villain for the story that we all can hate without assassinating his character. C. Have Hades and Demeter come out on top. D. Be historical and mythologically accurate. (I’m also not saying that I wanted SA in LO or LR, nor do I think this version would have made it better, but I personally believe this plot line makes way more sense than: Apollo meeting Persephone in one day and SA her in her sleep.)
I agree with a lot of this, thank you for sharing!! (sorry this is a late response, I didn't want this big analysis to go to waste fdjasklfdsajlk)
But yeah, in essence / on paper the SA plotline in LO would have been fine, especially considering SA is present in just about every Greek myth story, but I don't think Rachel was really cut out to tackle that subject yet, mostly as a writer as all of her writing is very baseless and doesn't have the necessary planning, research, and direction required to depict a subject like that. It takes a lot of sensitivity, self-awareness, and self control, none of which LO has as a narrative or Rachel as a writer.
IMO Apollo being the god of the sun made for a great springboard for him to be like, this self-centered god who was so delusional in his own ego that he couldn't believe Persephone wouldn't want him, that alone was enough to make him out to be a great villain - even with the use of SA, where he couldn't take no for an answer - but then we had to get into the whole "Apollo is gonna use Persephone to overthrow Zeus" crap and it all fell apart from there. Not to mention the story could never decide if Apollo was some nefarious puppet master or just a delusional dumbass, so all the flip-flopping on his motivations led to him becoming a very weak villain.
That said, I will cut her some slack for not having Zeus assault her. Because while it's more accurate to the myths (and character accurate) the story could barely handle Apollo and he's the canon Good Boytm in the myths, imagine it trying to handle an actual serial assaulter?
But that's not me saying it's necessarily a bad idea. I just don't think LO would be able to handle it with Rachel at the helm lol

If requests are open again, can I get a yandere Joe Secondopinionson from moral Orel x reader?
(MORAL OREL) YANDERE JOE SECONDOPINIONSON x READER: Headcannons
Tumblr media
• Joe as a yandere in any form be it either platonic or romantic will be clingy, needy and fully dependant on your approval.
• Clingy, Obsessive, a tad delusional... And surprisingly harmless
• It all stems from his lack of someone to depend on in life for his emotional needs.
• His father's too old to take care of him, his mothers not in his life and he doesn't really have any friends he can talk to about his issues.
• It’s the same reason why I think he’d develop a platonic obsession rather than a romantic one. While romantic is still on the table it would be much more likely that he would view you as a surrogate sibling. Or if you're older it could be parental. Though it really depends on how you’d meet and interact.
• He acts out because he has no healthy way of expressing himself. He drags them down to his level then stands on their fallen bodies to lift himself up.
• So when you come along you could understand why he gets attached so easily.
• With the company of Orel you welcome Joe to Moralton with a warm smile.
• And as he does he takes you both to go and misbehave with him.
• While he is very sadistic I don't think he would direct any of those feelings towards you, In fact I think it would be the complete opposite.
• After he did take you and Orel out to do a few misdemeanors he did grow attached to you. Orel had been brought into his dad’s office and been scolded again, Making himself distant from Joe.
• You however, Decided to stay with him.
• While you didn’t agree with his behaviour nor did you participate, In the end, You didn’t leave.
• Instead you followed him around Moralton wherever he went.
• Every time he tried to do something wrong you’d pull him away, Chastising him about how wrong it was to do that. Afterwards you’d pull him along to do something else with him like going to the playground, praying at church and assisting Orel in whatever Christian virtue he decided to enact today.
• At first, You disgusted him.
• While yes, he was attached. That didn't mean for a second that he liked it. The feeling was foreign and he couldn't understand what it meant, Making him feel absolutely terrified.
• He’d insult and curse you out, Run away, Anything to try and get you away from him. He was scared of you and didn't understand what he was feeling.
• However you persisted.
• You were a good person, You could see through his act and understood what he was feeling. You knew he just needed someone to set him on the right track.
• And when he figured out what he was feeling, When it hit him? That was the point of no return.
• His obsession had finally reached its peak, And damn. He wasn't going to let you go.
• To apologise for his actions he showed up at nightfall, Just before you went to bed.
• He tapped on your window and when you answered he presented an assortment of sweets with a guilty face.
• You thanked him, Which made his heart pound.
• If this was romantic this would be the point he confessed his feelings to you (No matter how long he beat around the bush while getting to the point)
• If it was platonic, this would be the point where he admitted you were his best friend and apologised for how he acted earlier.
• For the sake of story, We will go with romantic.
• When you get into a relationship with this man you will never have a moment alone again.
• Wherever you go he is sure to follow, Vice versa.
• Even if you do point this out to him and ask for space he will guilt trip you with his awful home life, Making you feel awful.
• Other love interests? Gone.
• He wouldn't harm them, No. He's not that type of yandere.
• He would intimidate them instead, Joe is a rather big guy compared to all the other kids in town so it’s no issue for him to scare off any lovesick classmates or head-over-heels churchmates.
• However if any of them do persist, that’s when he gets more aggressive.
• He’ll catch them off guard one day when their alone. He’ll bring his bat and start beating the shit out of the poor kid. All while yelling at them to stay away from you... The kid gets the message.
• Despite all the blood and guilt tripping there is in your relationship, there are some good moments.
• Any chance Joe can get he will bring you back little gifts, things you said you liked in passing. Even if they weren't acquired by particularly legal means, It’s not like you’ll ever know.
• You two like holding hands as you go places together. You think its cute, Joe thinks if he holds your hand tight enough you’d never let go.
• While he still banters with you he does genuinely try to take interest into your hobbies and passions and doesn't mind joining you in your work.
• It’s nice with the good moments. However if you do happen do find out what he’s been doing to potential rivals...
• He would beg you to stay. He’d cry, Get aggressive, Throw stuff. The same tactics he used to scare off love interests he used to try and convince you to stay.
• When you leave, Is when he finally looses it.
• His anger is tenfold now.
• Anyone, and I mean anyone who comes across him in this state gets physically assaulted. Punched, kicked, Hair torn out. The works.
• He’d be outside your window 24/7. Screaming apologies and threats dedicated towards you and anyone you cared about.
• You had to go back to him. You had no choice.
• If you continued to stay away he would've hurt more people, More severely, Until they got hospitalized
• You didn’t want to think of what he might of done, If he went too far one day.
• So now your days are dedicated to cooling down his wrath. Living in fear of him who is delusional to your true feelings.
• You have no choice but to stay with him, You wouldn't want anyone else to get hurt. Would you?

PruPan (Prussia x Japan) For the grid
Tumblr media
I know who sent this. I can smell your prupan and self-ship wif japan from a mile away **heart eyes emoji** thank you for being the only mf who wants to hear my opinions. anyways so i thought about it and realized actually prussia and japans dynamic is the greatest thing ever. Because see i believe in cuck japan romantically FOREVER. i think japan has like best broship in the platonic dating style (if you experience that shit you know what i mean) with america and like hes emotionally fulfilled from that but also he desperately wants a boyfriend or girlfriend or oysterfriend just anyone to have that shoujo romance and tentacle freak sideways tango with. but the thing is that he literally always fails and is in one-sided crushes Forever and always and its always japan crying to his best bro america about his fail ass love life and america is like lol couldnt be me! but it's fine because he still has his best bro and like yknow... its like how family and friendship is two different things that are both need. like moral orel about the f words (family, faith, friends) but with b. bros, booty, and bazinga... like idubbbz! (as long as you have one of those you won't be lonely). but anyways see i believe japans biggest crush of all is on italy and obviously prussia has his huge ginormous crush on italy too but like i think that actually they are aware of eachothers crushes but dont care because they dont see eachother as threats at all bc theyre like "omg this dude is so cooked he aint even competition lol i feel bad for him" towards eachother.
Tumblr media
and i think its actually really funny because see prussia is a desperate motherfucker and honestly not hard to pull at all. like if you have sex with him hes the type who goes "uhmm youre my boyfriend now right?" or if you confess to him hell take your feelings genuinely seriously and think about it and 90% of the time end up saying YES!!! I LIKE YOU TOO!!!!!! and japan is also desperate but he would literally date anybody Except prussia. like it's like how italy will fuck anybody Except Prussia. LIke japan could potentially get together with anybody under the right circumstances except prussia lol even if they were trapped in alkatraz together for 18 years he would never be prussia's prison boyfriend he just doesnt have the capacity to love only him. and its really funny because prussia is literally the only mf who has the capacity to feel romantic love towards japan in a twist of horrible fate because japan pissed off cupid in his past life and will never ever fucking win at romance. The only conceivable way is if he asked out prussia but prussia is the only mf he would rather die a virgin with while stranded on an island for 3000 years with than fuck and try to repopulate the planet with yaoi babies. so yeah they compell me a lot in this sense because this is fucking hilarious and amazing and I'd like for them to act pitying to eachother about their crushes on italy bc they're like "mhm mhm yeah you have a chance (lying)" even though they both strapped in the same jigsaw trap lawl. but I dont think i ship them because of what i said above. thank you for sending this though this was some really good shit to think about and i think ill draw them interacting more because this is an incredible discovery.... best discovery since alfred wagner and the tectonic plates !

Okay. Hazbin Theory time.
It seems Lute is like the one in heaven who is homophobic. (adam might be slightly but he's not as open about it. just thinks lesbians are hot and guys coming onto him is weird)
It's unclear if all of heaven is homophobic. All Lucifer says is "they're not as open minded as you think."
Which, could be the case that Gay people aren't allowed in heaven in this universe. But I highly doubt this cus St. Peter exists.
Tumblr media
That's like a 50/40 male to female ratio with one of them really butch coded. And you can't tell me that that Butch and those shirtless men are completely straight cis in this show. Any other show, maybe, but not Hazbin. I don't think that they would be, even if they are just background prop-dressing designs. (well aside from Molly but we're not talking about her atm since we don't know a lot on her)
So I don't think it's just that all of heaven is homophobic. I feel that gay people do exist in heaven just probably closeted.
I think it's Lute who is.
Tumblr media
But Lute is like… Aggressively homophobic. Especially when it comes to Vaggie.
So my thought is that… Vaggie confessed a crush to Lute in confidence. (maybe to her, or maybe to someone else) and Lute took that so personally.
Maybe the two even made out in front of Adam just to make him happy. And then Lute finds out Vaggie is actually into it. Into her. and she's disgusted by Vaggie on a deeply personal level and is determined to make her fall and humiliate her.
Lute is definitely the vibes of a cis straight woman who would tell a gay woman that "sure you can trust me with your crush I like you." and like… kiss a girl in front of her boyfriend to humiliate that person and just make her bf think she's hot as fuck.
So The next extermination… she was looking for an excuse.
Tumblr media
Any excuse to take Vaggie out. It would have happened anyway. Regardless of Vaggie spared the Cannibal Sinner or not as far as Lute is concerned.
As it seems when Lute retreats with Adam, Adam just calls her off and "let's just go" with Lute.
Tumblr media
More akin to just letting Vaggie lie there as a form of mercy on Adam's part. Which we know he's a bit disgusted by her brutality at times.
Tumblr media
"Chill Lute fuck"
Cus I don't doubt she would have kept going if Adam didn't show up and just told Lute to leave her there.
Ironically, it was Adam calling off his Bitch(dog) in this moment that lead to Vaggie showing Mercy to Lute later in their fight. Which also seems to be a deeply personal issue to Vaggie.
I'm not saying Adam is a good guy. Far from it. But Lute is just ruthless with how she sees Vaggie and demonizes her to the point she convinced all of Adam's other forces of Babes to hate her as well.
So it's yet to be determined if heaven is homophobic, or if the issue that Lute has with Vaggie is a very deeply personal one.
It reminds me or Moral Orel's "close face" episode and how that spoke so much to me growing up discovering my sexuality. Especially with how I was bullied then. Hazbin proved they can write adult themes with depth, so I really hope they take it in that direction.
also some additional context I'm sharing the full clip:

Moral Orel is one of the things that I have an interest in but don’t really talk about it that often lol. I recently was able to watch the show with me being a fan of it before hand and I loved it!
Names in order- Margaret Jointrun, Dowel Jointrun, Xacto Jointrun, Flutter Jointrun
More info under the cut:
Their premise so far is that the Jointruns are your typical Bible Belt family until they start to question everything around them and themselves.
Margaret Jointrun is starting to question how she feels about her marriage. While she still loves her husband, she felt confused about her stance in the relationship. This deeply disturbed her, because she had no idea what these emotions were at the time. One day while she was cleaning, she came across a pinup girl magazine that someone threw away in the trash. Now with the realization of what she was, she hid away from her family for almost an entire day.
After letting her have her space, her husband found her in their bedroom closet not in a panic, but in thought.
When getting her out, they both declared that they needed to tell each other something. At the same time, Margaret confessed to being a lesbian and her husband told her that she figured out that she is a trans woman. While both were shocked at the news, there was a sense of relief. Still in love with each other, they decided that they wanted to make their marriage work. However, there were major conflicts in the mix. For one, the town would not take kindly to either one of them. And two, their children, especially Xacto, would not take kindly to it either. So in order to try and hide everything, they say that her husband went on a missionary trip and the sister is now staying over to help out. So far everyone buys it but for how long?

5AM headcanons as I slowly get back into Moral-ing
- idk how much from Narcissism the fandom accepts, but it does make me categorize Bloberta as the “prettiest” / most desired woman in moralton based on the fact that she made Putty climax with words alone.
- As goofy as that is it also re-contextualizes a lot. She is “off limits” even in infidelity because she’s the mayor’s wife.
- I also think if Dottie tried her routine on Bloberta, Dottie would end up crying wayyyyyy earlier. Bloberta’s numbness includes an immunity to gaslighting. Also there is one element that actually connects the 2 characters that I wanna draw. Here’s a different scene for now:
Dottie: Can I sit with you Bloberta so our kids can talk to each other and not us?
Bloberta: … you talk to your kids?
Dottie nervously lights a cigarette.
Dottie: I- uh, well I mean-
Bloberta puts out the cigarette by clasping the end with her bare fingers.
Bloberta: If you’re going to do that, I think you should sit somewhere else.
- Blobbie / Censordoll discourse is also interesting bc I think of it as “numb & barren” (ship name maybe?) - things kinda also come full circle. In Help: Bloberta fails to help Fran, feels like she helped Clay and marries him, Orel is born and goes on to be Fran’s main helper in her campaign against Clay, with signs made by Bloberta.
- Gay Clay vs. Bi Clay was a debate brought up in one of my streams and I said my answer keeps changing. There are “tactile” arguments for Bi Clay but they all really start to evaporate for me with the scene in honor. There is no exact science, it is just a uniquely gay anguish confessed. alsogayclayrhymes
- I think about Clay’s rise to office a lot and what exactly enabled him to do so, and I’m beginning to think he may have used his mother’s death in his campaign as he starts to pen her lost commandments into Moralton law. Much to Arthur’s dismay, which only encourages Clay to take things further.
- A newer idea but I feel like Danielle’s experience encouraging Orel might have kindled something, and if Fakey can go from coach to Principal so can Danielle.
- I think now that Bendy is reconnected with Joe, the Fakey situation will actually quickly lead to a restraining order. Since Bendy no longer has to telephone through Ms. Secondopinionson to talk to Joe, Fakey talks to Secondopinionson for updates on Bendy. I think Fakey’s mental state will decline between his ruined marriage and “mistress” cut off, but for some reason I think with Secondopinionson’s infinite patience she becomes a sort of friend + makeshift repressional since Putty’s having none of it anymore. In that circumstance I think Secondopinionson becomes comfortable speaking to him in her natural voice . I think Fakey loses his job to Danielle like above, then idk, gets part time work at Steph’s shop or something.
- The David Tuber interview mentioned that Orel goes goth but also goes atheist, and the blue heron as a symbol of his faith begins to follow him around. I think the “Nature rematch” would be Orel getting Ol’ Gunny with actual intent to kill the Heron.
- Which brings me to the tinfoil hat section. Consider this my “Season 4+”
- By this time Censordoll has a stranglehold on Moralton. With no role models and in complete nihilism Orel kills the Heron in anger. In absolute darkness Orel finds no solace, he then notices the Heron’s nest.
- I have no idea what Steven Universe / Demon Slayer script we’ll need to get to this point but I really think that if Censordoll is the “final boss” of Moralton it should end with her and Orel nurturing the blue heron egg until it hatches, roll credits.

Moral Orel #38: “Passing” | November 7, 2008 - 12:15AM | S03E08
The second of two consecutive backstory episodes, this one has a similar structure to the previous premiere Help. This one briefly rehashes the “Ol’ Gunny” scene from Nature (part one), so it can pause to throw to the flashback, which makes up the vast majority of the episode. And like “Help,” the flashback gives us new meaning to a scene we’ve already watched. The aforementioned scene has Clay about to bestow Orel with Ol’ Gunny, a pistol he says has been passed down to each new generation of Puppington patriarch.
The episode focuses on Clay’s childhood. At 12 years old he’s a very obnoxious and coddled child who, like Orel, is deeply religious and believes in the “lost” commandments. Clay’s father, Orel’s grandfather, tries to get Clay to man up and hold Ol’ Gunny for the first time. Clay refuses and cites various lost commandments to get out of this rite-of-passage. His mother is aghast to find out her “precious only ever” was subjected to such horrors, and scolds papa Puppington (whose name is Arthur. I’m just gonna call him that from now on, okay).
Arthur just seems like he’s trying instill some kind of adult reality into little Clay, who prefers his doting mother to him. Arthur is relegated to second fiddle to Clay, who seems to be the one who wears the pants in the Puppington household. Arthur's dinner, for example, is Clay’s leftovers, which he eats in the study while wistfully looking at pictures of he and his wife before they had Clay.
Meanwhile, Clay and his mom spend time looking at a photo album. Clay, for the first time ever, is curious about the pages that come before his birth and browbeats his mother into letting him see them. There he finds multiple photos of his mother, pregnant, which she confesses were miscarried pregnancies. That means Clay technically wasn’t really her only child, even though those other children were never actually born.
We also establish two other important things: his mother has a weak heart and can’t get too excited. Also, she has an aversion to talking about death, and bans the word from her house to the degree that she scolds Arthur for inadvertently using it when he separates the syllables of the word “loaded”.
Clay acts out after finding out that his mommy behaved selfishly enough to attempt to have other children that weren’t him. He pulls a reckless prank by shooting off Arthur’s gun and using his ketchup (hilariously named “It’s just ketchup”) to make it look like he’s lying in a pool of his own blood, dead. His father, using reason and logic to determine the prank, cajoles the boy out of the possum act. His mother believes Clay's recovery to be a miracle. She's so overjoyed that her heart gives out and she collapses in religious fervor and dies.
Clay and Arthur’s relationship becomes strained after that, with Arthur resenting Clay for taking his wife away from him. Arthur starts craving attention from his father, who won’t even hit him for not being “worth it”. Clay steps up his spiteful behavior and succeeds in getting backhanded by his father, which he accepts as proof that he is, indeed “worth it”. Each time he gets smacked he smiles to himself, as though he's being loved. The flashback ends with Arthur telling his son that Ol’ Gunny is tainted with his mother’s blood, and that there will be no traditional coming-of-age hunting trip with the two of them, a time-honored tradition that he now declares to be dead.
Clay takes in Ol’ Gunny, and keeps it, twisting his father's gesture into something else. When we cut back to the present, Clay yanks Ol’ Gunny out of Orel’s hands, and gives him a different one, disappointing Orel.
I do think this one succeeds in being both darker and funnier than the previous episode. The scene where Clay’s mother describes her various miscarriages and how Clay came to be is a perfect distillation of how dark and how funny this one is.
In addition to shedding light on the scene from Nature, this one also sheds light on the previous episode, when Clay tells Bloberta that his parents are dead. This turns out to be not entirely true; Clay’s father is still alive when he says this. He also says that they're deaths "wasn't exactly a bloodbath" (or something similar). That's also correct; it's just ketchup.
There were in fact meant to be episodes this season in which Arthur comes to live with Clay and stays with Orel in his bedroom. Reportedly, he was going to pass away while staying with Orel, and Orel was meant to dabble in becoming goth. I recall Dino describing Orel’s goth phase as being cute. Beforel Orel, the post-series special, deals with Orel meeting Arthur.
Arthur is a great character and is one of Moralton’s few atheists. When his wife is being wheeled out of the house, he grimly tells his son there’s no heaven. Clay brattily tells his father that he’ll go to hell for saying there’s no heaven. lol
44 NIGHTS OF OREL
Tumblr media
The 44 Nights of Orel was fairly top-heavy with premieres. So, we only get one episode that aired before this one: Maturity. This was the first episode to explicitly portray Clay as a troubled soul.
