hello lairy shippers. im here to tell you about a little somethin'.

so back in my day before the airy reveal there was barely any lairy content - the only poeple i knew who shipped it and were normal about this were like. 4 POEPLE who i called the founding fathers of lairy: me, my friend, first person who posted art in the tag(they deactivated), and the writer of playing favorites

and mostly the reason why im making this post is bc of the ship name itself! we (my and my friend) came up with it. (i misrememberd that it was me 😭)

Sometimes I look at the stuff I make and just think "Oops, my bad!" knowing damn well I'm gonna do it again.

Yeah, this ship is gonna be my personality for a while, bare with me. (Me fighting with myself on calling it "aircorn" or "popcairy")

Airy being stupid about romance is so funny to me. Homeboy hasn't seen another object in 10 years, and Liam would NEVER let Airy get that close to him. A rock and a hard place, if you will.

Also he's a shit kisser lol.

Another dynamic I wanna play around with in this AU (that's what this is now ig) is Liam and Popcorn. Liam finds Popcorn insufferable, Popcorn thinks Liam is boring and a stick-in-the-mud. They don't get along at all. At least they have someone to vent to 👍

Also, some Popcorn lore oooooooooo~

Why is platonic angst socially acceptable but not romantic angst? Like, why are people more okay with discussion/content of two friends in an unhealthy relationship and not two lovers in an unhealthy relationship?

You can write a fanfic about Test Tube torturing her friends, but not a fanfic about Knife and Trophy hating each other's guts yet still wanting to make out.

You can talk about Liam restarting the cycle and continuing the show, but not about an AU of Airy and Liam being obsessively in love with one another.

You can draw Pillow brutally murdering and torturing her teammates, but not draw Four mistreating X while they both have a crush towards the other number.

Why is one situation fine, and the other not as soon as romance is involved? As far as I know, none of these creators have made statements about being uncomfortable with romantic abuse involving their characters. Is it because it relates too much to real world issues or something else entirely?

To clarify, I don't personally want to engage in any of this stuff, I am aromantic and generally prefer to see all object relationships as platonic. I am just mystified on why seemingly a majority of the OSC is against toxic relationships mostly only when they are portrayed as romantic.

Do you, uh, do you see my vision?

What if I shipped the two hosts from the most polar opposite shows in the OSC? Nah, not me, that’s so silly, imagine that haha 😳😳🫣🫣

Just for context, Liam and Airy made it back to San Fransisco together and moved into a cheap apartment. Airy is trying to adjust to being in society again. Liam is trying to fix all his legal documents and get back on his feet officially. Texty has sorta been adopted by Liam at this point and is trying to help out the best they can.

Liam has also threatened to dump Airy to the streets if he cannot help Liam pay the rent (it’s super expensive when they come back and Liam is still not really friends with Airy, also Liam is trying to move out of Cali, so he’s been penny pinching).

Popcorn lives off the grid on Earth in this, only making her presence known when she is hosting another reality show. “Popcorn” is also an alias name to run her show since it’s illegal and probably shouldn’t be happening lol. The people he uses for the show are usually people who are super despite and down on their luck, or homeless people who she picks up off the street. Airy was the first one to show genuine interest in the show.

I need to give Popcorn an actual name lol, and idk if Poppy is cutting it for me.

Liam is not exactly thrilled at the idea of Airy having a partner, but she is rich allegedly and is willing to help pay a little of the cost to help them move to the East Coast lol.
