Headcanon;

A healthy reminder that majority of the Knights cannot be infected by lycanthropy. The blackwater’s properties serves as a barrier to what The Order conceives as a disease.  The only reason Grayson had become “ infected “  was because it had been Alastair who bit him.

They both having that alchemy induced blood, nulls any prevention and altered the very dna of what later becomes infused lycanthropy.  With some speculation of Lucan being of an Elder descent also at aid.  In the beginning of my AU,  I doubt even Alastair knew he was capable of doing that to Grayson.  It had been a vastly daunting surprise to them both.

Y’know, as I delve back into The Order: 1886 fandom

I find myself more and more convinced that Grayson didn’t kill Alastair.

Other people said that if you slow down the clip you can see that Alastair’s head doesn’t move when Grayson shoots (it would be knocked back with the force of the bullet) and so I decided to see it for myself.

When I was playing the game, it did look like Alastair’s head stayed still. While I slowed the clip of it down in my shitty clip-editor, it was less clear (the light from the flash of the gun blocked his head out).

But you know what I did notice?

Regardless of what his head is doing, Alastair’s body doesn’t move. It stays in exactly the same position just as the scene cuts to black as it is before the shot. If he’d been shot, his body would have probably moved as well as his head, and then probably gone limp.

It didn’t, though.

And given that Grayson didn’t really seem ready and raring to kill him, I’m tentatively hoping that he didn’t actually do it.

I do really like the theory that Alastair’s alive. If and when they do a sequel (which apparently they’d need Sony’s blessing for, since Sony owns the IP) I think Alastair would be a good character to help explore the half-breed side of the Order’s universe. He claims they’re no better or worse than humans, and I’d be interested in seeing him explain that.

So... Yo, Ready at Dawn, you tell Sony there’s interest in a sequel, if only from this curious bitch right here.
