Presenting... the four Amphibia AUs I have going on while my brain tries to restart the Encanto part of my soul!

(Like seriously, I am not abandoning Housekid- it's just that my brain literally would not produce the Juice for it. So, Amphibia for now, folks! Hold on to your butts, and may Frog help me!)

A. HEARTY WIT - my very first Amphibia AU! Born out of my intense desire to have a Swap AU where Anne actually reforms the Tower instead of it changing her because duh there's a reason she's Heart AND where Marcy pushes Wartwood to an age of magitech and causing all the youth of the town to be smarter than any other youths in Amphibia because Big Sister Marcy showed us how we can kill you with paper and a leaf and we will not hesitate to do so.

Also, Marcy and Sprig Soulswapping as they grow up is just poggers man. Anne gets two friends for the price of one, Marcy gets a family that actually cares for her, and Sprig gets Mr. and Mrs. Boonchuy as parents early on! (Because how could you not notice your daughter's best friend occasionally having hair made of green ethereal clouds or act like a completely different child signaled only by changing eye colors?) It's a win-win!

Sasha, bitch, I'm sorry in advance.

B. ONE WORD IS ENOUGH FROM A BRIGHT GIRL - my second Amphibia AU! Born from wanting to give Marcy the dad she absolutely deserves- one that could match her brains and understand her in a way no one else ever could.

I mean come on! These two were the best pair of brainiacs before True Colors like Jesus Christ Andrias was one more month away from saying his very first Dad Joke. Also they're both gamers. Also they're both holders/chosens of the Wit Stone. Also they both betrayed their friend groups in some way. I'm already both excited and dreading for the chapter where they confess to each other- Marcy with her Truth and Andrias with the whole Core business -and then plan on how to make up for their shortcomings as well as figure out a way to off a God.

(Marcy would totally make a diss track about the Core and Aldritch and Andrias would have to use the will of Atlas himself to not listen to it 24/7. )

Anne, sweetie, you're about to be Andrias' kid-in-law and you better ready your ass because this man just recently opened up his heart for the first time in a thousand years- you better believe he's got some spoiling to make up for. It'll probably get worse when he finds out you're an honorary Plantar. I can already imagine his booming voice going-

"Oh, come on, Leiflet! Are you really going to settle for that? My Eftlet deserves better! Try this one instead- it's her favorite shade of green!"

"Your Highness please this is the 56th suit you've made me try on I'm dying-"

C. BLUE-GREEN PARENTING - the AU that went hand-in-hand with OneWord! Born solely to torture Annarcy with their own daughter and literally nothing else.

Like, the most frequent images that come into being in my head in reference to this AU are just Anne and Marcy perpetually red-faced and Lily just cackling in the background.

Also, Anne desperately saving Lily from falling off a flight of stairs, getting eaten by a mantis, and sinking into quicksand because she was distracted by her surroundings and/or writing in her journal is one of the main driving concepts of this AU. Anne's got TWO super smart Idiots now and oh boy is it gonna be a ride.

And I'm not exaggerating. Lily has Anne's face and personality (As well as the Boonchuy curse of always loosing the left shoe and could only be offsetted by wearing mismatched pairs), but she has Marcy's on everything else. Energy, Passion, Intelligence, Stims, the ability to go into the Zone,- she's basically Marcy with Anne's confidence. That's an (unintentional) devilspawn right there- God Bless, Anne!

Also- what? What are you talking about? How's True Colors gonna go? Well... All I can say is that I am totally not lying in saying I'm not gonna traumatize a 5 year old. I frogging swear.

Also Also, Sasha? Sorry not sorry!

D. PLANTAR BEAST - my final Amphibia AU! For Now! Because we all know how quickly AUs form! Born to literally only have Feral Anne but not to the point of loosing her humanity! She's a frog, but she's also human, so oh boy, better watch out! We've got a predator with the movement of Prey- you can't run, that's for sure!

Also, it always bothered me that we didn't get any episodes about the Plantars teaching Anne how to survive Amphibia. The closest we got was that Bog Vlog where they taught US how they hop, and that's about it. Like seriously- nobody thought to train after the disaster of Toad Tax? They got lucky with Combat Camp teaching Anne how to swordfight for Reunion, but if what if they hadn't? If Hop Pop took them with him? Anne would've lost immediately to Sasha.

And so thus, Plantar Beast. Sprig teaches Anne how frogs fight and move, her powers activate early because she's always in danger- she gets frog parts because she's Heart and her heart says she wants to have those frog parts -as well as causing the side effect of activating dormant human predatory instincts. This simple change, this simple decision to train, causes absolutely massive ripples in the story.

Like for example- Sasha doesn't fall, because Anne has a long ass tongue and the jumping ability of a god. That alone changes all of Season 2, yeah?

Also, no shame, the moment I realized Anne will have her tongue during Reunion, I immediately had her bitchslap Sasha in the Outline. It was absolutely needed.

ive been rereading A Theory of Butterflies and Other Insects by the lovely @/calamity-unlocked and i caught the swap au brainworms so. heres some rambling about what i think would happen if anne wound up at toad tower (long post warning!!!!)

Anne would likely follow a similar path that Sasha does, but for very different reasons, which is something interesting to think about

Anne would also rise to the top through friendship/compliments, except they are genuine

Anne’s strength is genuine interpersonal relationships, whereas Sasha’s (at least in Prison Break) is manipulation, but they both thrive in this specific situation

It only takes Anne a week or two to befriend almost everyone in the tower, except Grime, who thinks that shes manipulating his guards

“BRADDOCK!  Why is the creature out of her cell?  She’s dangerous!”  “Aww, but boss, she’s teaching us how to paint our nails :(“

Eventually, when Grime is attempting to interrogate her, she spills out everything.  How she blames herself for getting her and her friends trapped here, how if she’d only stood up to Sasha for once and not stolen the box they would still be safe at home, everything.

In Wartwood, she was always occupied going on weekly adventures, but at the Tower, she had a lot of solitary confinement time to reflect and inevitably blame herself for what happened.

Remember, this is early s1 Anne- she is full of self doubt and, as she said herself, does not love herself yet :( so all this spiraling think time is not good for her

This FINALLY gets to Grime.  She starts sobbing and he's like holy shit,, she's not a horrible evil beast, she's just an insecure teenager

He lets her out and she's actually very helpful

She learns to swordfight and is a very loyal soldier.  She’s been a follower her whole life, it comes easy to her

When the herons attack, she rallies the troops and inspires them to fight back, earning her the role as Grime’s lieutenant !!

there will inevitably be more, but i only tackled prison break for now since beyond that she would have to interact with marcy and i havent entirely sorted out marcy in wartwood yet!!

im also very excited to write abt sasha in newtopia... i think she and andrias would hate each other so so much and she wouldn't stop poking around the castle

This whole art took a while to finish, mostly because of background. But I’m happy I did finshed it, I learned quiet a bit about backgrounds and boba.

But she never gets that far. Anne’s next words stop her in her tracks.

It’s randomly time to share some more information about my Marcy’s Journey AU!

- Ivy is searching for the creature in the forest along with Sprig and Polly (the latter of whom she snatched up so she wouldn’t snitch them out to Hop Pop), and find a recipe for something called pizza, a foreign concept to the three, so they try to gather the ingredients needed to make this pizza. Also, Polly’s the one who sells Sprig into an arranged marriage with Maddie, which Ivy is anything but happy about.

- Anne and Marcy actually ended up in the same spot together, but Anne ended up getting lost trying to look for Marcy when she was gone too long, worrying her friend.

- Captain Grime personally comes to investigate the reports of a foreign creature spotted near Wartwood, and when Marcy proves she means no harm to them by saving Sprig from a snake and safely bringing him back to Hop Pop, he has Mayor Toadstool ensure an eye’s kept on the human so she doesn’t leave until further notice, having discovered there are more of her species out there.

- Marcy ships Spraddie, while Anne ships Sprivy.

- When she’s a kill-a-pillar, Anne is very protective of Domino 2, who is her closest companion in Amphibia. When she becomes a kill-a-moth, though, the other way around is true as well. Also, due to circumstances, Domino 2 comes to hate Marcy’s guts for appearing to try to steal Anne away from her and being the reason she’s being held prisoner in Andrias’ castle.

A Swap AU : Wartwood

Here is my version of the popular swap AU. You can also interpret that drawing as if all three of them fall in Wartwood. Anne : She doesnt change but I wanted to give her a new outfit to fit her place in the farm. I was heavily inspired by Missakat.

Sasha : She was adopted by the Sundew, so she became a big sister figure for Ivy who loved her rebel attitude. With Felicia, Sasha learned how to canalise her anger thanks to her "technics". When Sasha discovered that Felicia was very good at fighting, she asked to her to train her.

During the mayor election, Sasha tried her shot and won. For a while, it was her best times but she learned in the meantime that her toxicity and her drama queen attitude made her very unpopular and all the town went in riot. She gave the mayor title back to Toadstool and apologise to the town. That adventure teached her to listening more the people around them and taking account of their feeling. When the Tax Toads arrive, she want against them when the Sundew were accused to no pay their taxes. With her fighting skill, she kicked their asses (and also Toadstool's). She saw that the town didn't have a militia, so she decided to form her own to fight the toads and taking over the system.

Marcy : She was adopted by the Flour. While helping with the bakery, she was quickly interested by Maddie's dark magic and became quickly friends. With Maddie's magic and Marcy's ingeniosity, together they helped Wartwood with various inventions, some of them works, some of them dont. At the start, Marcy saw the villagers like NPC and she accepted to help them like if it was a quest in a video game. She accepted anything but never took her time to learn about these people. When she finally learnt to slow down, she was amazed how much she could learn from others. By starting to listen to them, the inhabitants started to open their hearts and wanted also to know about Marcy. A thing that the girl didn't truly expect, specially with Sasha and Anne

When the Tax Toads arrive, they were with Anne, who felt at the Toad Tower who heard rumors about a Humus like her in Wartwood. She finally met Marcy and tried to convince her to come at the tower together. Marcy was happy to see her friend but she didnt want to leave the frogs, at least not now. Anne understood and leaves but promise to come back.
