So I've been thinking about lams a lot lately. And some of it angst. I also been thinking about the music I listen to and I find myself connecting the two.

I'm not the first one to think about a ghost Laurens AU. I'm not the first to think that if he became a ghost he would haunt his still living lover.

But there is a small detail I don't think others know. I might be wrong so don't quote me but Hamilton never went to South Carolina after Laurens' death. He never visited his grave. And that is sad.

I've been listening to Mother Mother lately, more specifically their Oh My Heart album. On it there is two songs that tie together. Arms Tonight and Ghosting.

And the vibes they give are really Laurens coded. He dies having his love's attention and love. And then he becomes a ghost and sees his love move on. See him not need him anymore.

It is so beautiful, so bittersweet and it breaks me just a slightly bit every time I think about it.

Now that I think about it, every time Laurens becomes a ghost it hurts because he would be hurt too. There is a reason ghosts stay on earth and for him it would most likely be his lover. And then Hamilton would die and he would stay forever.

They would again complement eachother on not being able to be together. And it breaks me just a bit.

I saw a post by @icarusbetide saying that they love the idea of George Washington being a gossiper and I am behind this 100%, but I would like to add for consideration him constantly shipping the people around him. Someone on his staff courting someone? He’s silently praying it works because he thinks it’s cute. If it’s someone he disapproves of, he’s all “oh honey no you can do so much better”. He’s the one subtly trying to “encourage” along certain relationships. His aides are begging him to stop. He will not yield.

Have you been lurking in my WIPs, anon-friend? Because I've had something similar deep in those Google docs for probably a couple years.

I love the idea of the tables being turned on Washington anyway, so this is so good. Of course no one knows about this fear, except Martha perhaps.

Also I love the idea that this fear comes from a childhood trauma, maybe even something that wasn't a big deal at the time but never really left the back of his mind. Maybe Little Wash accidentally being locked in a cellar for hours until his mother happens to find him?

Or for something more traumatic, a childhood playmate getting lost or falling into a lake in caves they used to play in?

Fast forward to present day, Hamilton and Washington need to take refuge in a cave to avoid being found by the enemy, and the deeper in they go, the more agitated Washington becomes...

Sorry for the ooc posts today, but amrev verse thoughts mostly for Arnbjorn. Astrid is still included and affected by this.

So in Arnbjorn's place in Skyrim he was a member of the Companions and got kicked out. In the amrev version, I'd imagine he was maybe a Ranger (I wasn't necessarily thinking Queen's Rangers, or anything with Tartleton, maybe sorta like the Green Mountains Boys, but maybe a smaller regiment?). He got kicked out since maybe he went a bit excessive with his kills and just seemed like a loose canon perhaps. (Similar to the main verse).

Not sure if he was a Patriot or a Loyalist, but I get the vibe that he joined the army not so much because of any cause but because it's what a man seems required to do when asked of him. It just seemed like the expectation. So it doesn't really matter who he chooses because Astrid and the Dark Brotherhood assist anyone willing to pay them. They are more interested in the chaos of the war and Astrid actually sort of sees King George and George Washington similar in wanting to "rule" over the colonies in their own way. Either way, no matter who Arnbjorn served with, I can see either the British Army or the Continential Army coming in and destroying the Dark Brotherhood either way. I often switch between the two, depending on the plot, since I would imagine both sides would see the group as vile.

I sometimes think about this scene because it just comes across as Washington being totally reckless.

He - the head guy of his entire army, a guy who many a person would’ve gladly attacked or captured - has (probably) rushed down to a random secluded pier to shout (giving away his location smh) to his ally. No soldiers or guards in sight. I don’t see any horses around either. Did he run there on foot??? He’s literally just with James, a civilian!

He could’ve been snatched at any point on the way down there, but instead of considering that, he bolts like an excited puppy ffs

Retreats Georg, a straight twink is NOT adequate security!!

The fic potential is pretty good though. like did he drag James with him or did he just follow? Did he actually run on foot what was probably a few miles just to find somewhere to shout at Rochambeau from?? What if he had gotten captured???

In a current fic I'm working on Alexander returns to headquarters uninjured, but nearly catatonic after a battle. He wasn't part of the fight, but sent to investigate casualties after. When John and Lafayette can't snap him out of it Lafayette goes to Washington.

Washington of course has seen men react this way having many years in the military (and of course there's really no term for ptsd at the time).

Anyway Washington sends the others away and goes to see to Alex. Alex had not reacted to his closest friends, but when Washington talks to him he responds right away.

Poor Alex, even in trauma, can't allow himself to appear weak to Washington.
