Spoons? What spoons?

Hi yall! Been meaning to check in for a while :3 put under a read more cuz goddamn it has been a while.

SO when last we met LOLOL or some other opener... xD

Dad

Dad’s doing as well as can be expected. His brain is more or less getting back to normal (mom says its not; I told her she’s just seeing him for the first time proper and all the cruel shit he’s saying/doing is very much in-character for him when he’s not always stoned, but thanks to therapy I have the words and stuff to communicate all that abusive shit to her now; I love him but I hate him but we’ll touch on that xD). He’s had three amputations so far and he’s developed osteomyelitis (bone infection) so he’s been doing 2hr ‘dives’ in the Hyperbaric chamber every other day to fight it up to 10 dives. I’m told its $200,000 treatment which their new health insurance is fully paying for cuz one surgery already hit the $20,000 premium (don’t even get me started on THAT fight I had to do to get them signed up so we’d still have a place to live- they don’t ‘believe’ in insurance cuz they dont know shit... lawsuits are still pending and will be for the next 2-3yrs i expect). So... yeah. Mom has stepped up with a lot of stuff and she’s better educated on it all too thank fuck.

Thank fuck for therapy

The entire time dad’s stuff has been taking place, I’ve been attempting therapy, which was never explained to me properly/offered of ‘why am i here’ sort of thing, soooo about 4months (5-6 sessions of 30min therapy) turned out to be a COMPLETE waste of time. I’m on mediCal and the clinic they assigned me to only deals with mild-moderate trauma and can only see me for max. of six months when most patients make an improvement. Asking the therapist when we’d actually get to the trauma and triggers and all the other shit I’ve been pursuing therapy for two years over resulted in some clarity and I’ve been putting off making the phone call X_X My therapist only deals with singular trauma, and she said I have complex/multiple trauma with PTSD, and there’s no possible way (in my opinion and hers as well) I’d get any modicum of ‘better’ in six months cuz I’m too damaged, so like... that’s fun to know. I’ve been living in denial about my quality of life for decades and hearing it from a professional has considerably destroyed my sense of self (as it should tbh cuz these rose colored glasses are made of broken bottles LOL). Everything about myself revolves around survival tactics so I’m kind of floundering about living in lies (cuz coming to terms with trauma you’ve convinced yourself doesn’t actually bother you too much will do that, and ‘fawning’ is apparently one of the flight/fight responses and hardcore how i’ve lived these past decades) sooooo that’s what I’m dealing with and it’s super painful to come to terms with. If you’ve ever had to eat fast-food ketchup packets cuz you’re so hungry as a child and there’s nothing else you can have and they’re free, WELP then you might have a very very small window of what my quality of life has been like (: and me and my sister just thought we were fat kids for always being hungry constantly LOL

On the good news end, I’ve officially been medicated just over 2months for my adhd :D I’m on atomoxetine (strattera) and it’s COMPLETELY gotten rid of my executive dysfunction, I can get up in the morning regardless of how much sleep I’ve gotten, and I have much more energy and motivation to do stuff :) My medication isn’t a stimulant but works on the adrenal glands (which I suspected from various other body ailments might be the source of a LOT of my problems-- especially the chronic fatigue- and if the meds took them away, then I was right, and they did, so.... adrenal gland fixer yay!) and anyways it’s improved life a lot. It gives me goosebumps sometimes too which is funny but I’m real happy with it. If anyone has any questions, I’ve always been a loud mouth irl about my disorders in order to be visible and unashamed for others, and I’ve helped a lot of peers irl with mental bullshit and I’m always willing to pay it forward! :)

The doom and gloom stuff xD

I’m trying to get back into writing. Desperately. I spend time at night writing a couple of sentences when it’s quiet, but then I usually pass out in five minutes cuz tbh I don’t really sleep anymore and I haven’t since dad’s accident so progress on my creative endeavors is going very very slow. Lord knows I have the fucking time rn. I’ve been getting one shift a week at work since June cuz there’s NO hours, so I’m freaking out about money (i’m probably gonna open commissions again), and my life, and my age, and how I’ll never get out of fucking debt at this rate, and how I’m so fucking mentally fucked cuz I can’t do two/three jobs with my fucking adhd and shit, and I want to move out but I can’t live with other people cuz of the aforementioned trauma/distrust and it’s not like anywhere is affordable anyways in this hell country soooo. Yeah. I’m at the point of taking out balance transfers from credit cards to deposit cash into my bank account cuz i can’t fucking survive otherwise and I guess I’ll figure that out next month. I joke around but are any of you an escort/have you done that kind of work before/could I ask questions? >_> I need options. If I could sell an organ for about $25k i’d just do that but i AM desperate and I’m open to any and all suggestions for quick cash no matter how demeaning. Can’t demean someone who’s used to it all their life! :D Real talk tho i’m not kidding, if anyone could point me to some resources, DM me :|

So yeah that’s what’s up in a nutshell. Really REALLY wanna write and finish some shit... existential dread and basic survival is getting in the way of that. Bear with me though, it’s been a very very tough year but nothing has been abandoned and I’m definitely around. Just rarely have the spoons to do shit :D

Hey nonny, thank you for asking. I guess you allready know BBC Sherlock so i skip that and come straight gay to other stuff.

1. The The Furtive Festivity. It is a Johnlock comedy short movie that was produced during the bbc sherlock season 4 aftermath (seaosn 4 aftermath = fans who didn't liked the idea of canon Johnlock said that IF we want a canon Johnlock we should do it ourselves. So the heros of @sherlockppu started a crowdfunding page and made this short movie). It is about John who trys to organize a surprise party for Sherlock. It is really funny, full of heart, unapologetic gay and has a super soft ending. It can be watched for free on youtube:

2. CBS Elementary. It had the bad luck to be released during the second season of BBC Sherlock. So many people ignored it and/or gave it a lot of hate. It is not justified imo. Like BBC Sherlock it plays in modern times, but it plays in modern NY. Sherlock is a tattooed ex junkie (still british) who just got dischared from a rehab center and Joan is an chinese woman. She is an ex doctor and now should help Sherlock for six weeks to get back into his regular life, find a job again, stay clean and go to therapy. Even with those changes is a really briliant adaptation that stays really true to the orginial stories. It is super nerdy, the humor is on point, the cases are really clever and the show cares deeply for its characters. It is also really diverse. For a whole season Sherlock is dating a disabled woman, mental illnesses are a topic, Sherlocks drug use is topic in every season, lgbt people get mentioned really often and appearing often as side characters. Sadly noone of the main cast is queer but the possibility is allways discussed. Actually the sexuality of the whole main cast, expecially of Joan Watson and Marcus Bell, are left open and there are a lot of nice shipping options in the show that the writers deeply care for: male/male, female/male, female/female as well as an OT3. I would highly recommend to check it out. It is my favorite adaptation. The last epsiode is aired tonight. The show is closed in seven seasons. I can not say how season 7 final is, but orginially season 6 was planned as the final and it is an awesome final season that gives you everthing you want and more.

Edit: Season 7 is absolut amazing. Reichenbach happens, no shock value ending. No force straight relationship. Untraditional family bounds. The ending is honoring the relationships of the characters and the growth they archieved. This show is amazing. Please watch it (many shows can still learn from this ending).

Edit 2: After I asked one of the Elementary writers (Robert Hewitt Wolfe) here on tumblr about the queer undertones he confirmed that Sherlock - in this adaptation - is definitly implied to be queer (Longest yay ever!) He also confirmed that Sherlock - in this adaptation - is basically neurodivergent.

3. RDJ Sherlock Holmes. The movies with RDJ and Jude Law are focusing more on Sherlock nature as a fighter then on his deduction skills. Nevertheless they are also really clever written and i like how Guy Ritchie is filming his stories. There are two movie, a third one will be released decemeber 2021. The first movie is named “Sherlock Holmes” and focus on a more fictive case that is not discussed in the orginial ACD books. While the second movie focuses on the Moriaty case and stays more true to the ACD canon. The relationship between John and Watson is really queer, especially in the second movie. Sure it is still a Hollywood movie so Sherlock is dating Irene, but a kiss between Sherlock and a woman that you can see in the trailer was cut from the final movie and instead we got a Sherlock and John dancing scene. (In the second movie: A game of shadows.”). Jude Law himself describes the movie as a rom com. I would also recommend you to check them out. They are on Netflix. Also the humor is great and costumes are a dream.

4. Granada Sherlock Holmes. That is a TV show that was released 1984 and actually retells all of the orginal stories 1:1. With a few changes. John never marries Mary and the personal life of John and Sherlock gets more fleshed out. Jeremy Brett who is playing Sherlock Holmes is really close to how i imagined ACD Sherlock Holmes. John Watson is not portrayed as dumb side kick like other adaptations did back then but as a clever fellow. Of course because of the time it is only subtextual queer but due to the performance of the main actors they are really shipable. Jeremy Brett the actor of Sherlock was bisexual in real life and said such golorious things as “If it cheers up the gays, I’m thrilled“

5. the private life of sherlock holmes. The movie was released 1970. I do not know if I can highly recommend it but the author wrote Sherlock as a closet gay man in this adapatation and if you are a fan of BBC sherlock you will find a lot of similarities. Because the writers of BBC sherlock based their TV show on this movie. Nevertheless there are some great queer scene. For example where Sherlock refuse to impregnate a woman by saying that he and John are in a loving relationship. You can also find that scene on Youtube if you are interested in that.

6. Miss Sherlock. A TV show from HBO asia where both Shelrock and John are japense woman. While the first case is really disappoiting imo it gets a lot better in the later epsiodes. I only have watched the first three epsiode (because i am from germany and i do not like to stream illegal) but from what i saw it is a really promising show. John and Sherlock are of course really shippable again. What of course gets a really great new dynamic with both of them being women. Some who watched the last epsiode even go so far to say that Johnlock is canon in this adaptation. I can neither confirm nor deny that.

Edit: I have now watched all epsiodes and I can tell you that this adaption has the most well written Reichenbach ending I have ever seen. First, does the show levels up from a really mediocre first epsiode to a breathtaking final epsiode it. Second, while a few elements in the final epsiodes are copied from BBC Sherlock they are 100% better written, so clever and so well crafted. Also I now understand why people say that Watolock is canon here. I do not want to spoil to much but at the end Wato has to choose between her boyfriend and Sherlock. The rest is obvious, isn‘t it

7. Gosick. Also a japense adaptation. In this case as an anime and as books. I only read the books. In this adaptation Sherlock is a teenage girl with long blond hair who lives in the higest room of an old library in a school for rich kids. John is a teenage boy who comes from Japan and got an internship at this school because his brothers and his father are army members. John himself is not really a soilder but he does his best. He and Sherlock (Victorique) are solving cases in 9 different novels. There is nothing queer about this adaptation but i love how well written the cases are and that unlike other young Sherlock novels John does not gets ereased. Appreantly there are also sequel novels but i can not tell you something about.

8. House md. An medial/hospital AU where both John and Sherlock are sucessful doctors. Sherlock (Gregory House) has a drug addiction, is really arrogant but allways gets soft when he is around his Watson (James Wilson). All in all it is more clever written hospital show, but it never forgets its orginis (House is living in 221B, Irene Adler gets mentioned and in the last season Reichenbach happens). And i can spoil you so much. It takes you a time to ship House and Wilson but later they move in a house together, propose to eachother (”as a joke” sure jan..) and they drive into the sunset together at the end. Also pay attention to the music soundtracks. Most of what is left unsaid is told by the soundtracks. The show is closed in 8 seasons.

9. Enola Holmes - Books. The books are about a fictive young sister for Sherlock and Mycroft Holmes who is solving cases on her own. The stories are still set in 1900. I only have read the first four novels so far. Now, 2024, there are nine Enola Holmes books.

There is nothing queer about the first novel. Sadly, John does not even appear in the first novel and imo the author gets a few things wrong about how Sherlock thinks about women. But the book is surprisingly feministic for a teen novel. Being a woman in Victorian era gets used as a weapon here in a way you wouldn’t expected. Ther first novel does not even has 200 pages but is a good read if your want a well crafted young teen book with a strong female lead.

Edit 1: I have now read novel 1 to 4 and until now there was only one Johnlock moment. At the end of the third book Johnlock gets their own short chapter. Nothing queer… just really soft (I am not complaining). On the other hand, Enola has a “friend”, a young lady that she constantly needs to save from trouble, Lady Cecily. They are not girlfriends, but really shipable in a very cute ‘first teenage love’ way. When Enola thinks about her (and she does that really often) she calls her “my missunderstood lady”. Especially the fourth novel turned out really queer in general, with all being subtext and probably not intended by the author herself.

Edit 2: I now have read book 1 to 8. The books are still not queer but Nancy Springer (the author) said she is okay with every interpretation we might have of Enola and her love life, she just won't give Enola a romantic relarionship, neither male nor female. (She is actually really angry at the movies for making Enola fall in love with a boy, lol). Still nothing queer between Holmes and Watson, but the Enola/Cecily relationship keeps on going strong. Go lesians! (not canon).,

I can highly recommend the books!

9. Enole Holmes - two movies. Based on the Enola Holmes book series a movie was released 2020 with Henry Cavil as Sherlock and Millie Bobby Brown as his young sister Enola. The movie adapts the first book but does not really sticks to its orginial plot. Many things get changed. That does not mean it is a bad movie but many motives seem really poorly explained in the movie, when you compare it with the book. A really MAJOR change happens in the movie: Enola falls in love with a boy what NEVER happens in the books (she is more attracted to girls, see above). So there is nothing queer about the movie. Also because Cavill!Sherlock does not meet his John yet. There are one or two nice gay panic scenes for Sherlock nevertheless.

Edit: the second movie was released recently. Sadly it is still really heterosexual and has nothing to do with the books anymore. I really enjoyed the second movie nevertheless. And we finally got our John! Sadly he is only appears at the end of the movie and only for a few seconds but he exchanges some really soft smiles with Sherlock. So I am really hyped for a potential third movie, hopefully with more John watson content!

10. The Irregulars - TV Show. The Irregulars is a TV-show that was released on Netflix 2021 and has one season so far. I actually do not think the official description of Netflix is really accurate so i will choose another one. The Irregulars is about Sherlock Holmes who lost control over his drug use so John Watson is engaging a gang of street kids to solve crimes for him, and like that tries save his and Sherlocks reputation. The Baker Street Irregulars were allready featured in the orginial novels by ACD. Allready here they helped Holmes to solve cases from time to time. The Irregulars (the show) mostly focuses on the cases the gang has to solve. They have a supernatural twist. John and Sherlock are more supporting characters, but nevertheless center of the story. Is it gay? Yes, definitly. Slight Spoilers ahead. Beware. In this adaptation John is a) a man of color and b) gay. He is confirmed - in the show - in love with Sherlock. He admits it multiple times and he has to face no homophobia for it. Also some background characters are gay and dance, kiss and cuddle at the birthday party of the prince of Endland. On the other hand Sherlock is really straight in this adaptation. And not in the way Elementary is straight with a few sex scenes and a girlfriend. But straight straight. So there is no canon Johnlock in this adaptation…. yet? All in all this adaptation is really tragic so noone is happy in the end. Nevertheless it allready holds a special place in my heart. Not only because it is the major Sherlock Holmes adaptation where John is canonly gay. But also because this show straight- and queerbaits the audience in the most beautiful way possible. Some people say the show gets Sherlocks and John personality completly wrong but i would argue in its weird twisted it gets them better then any other adaptation i have seen so far. “Sherlock Holmes i not the work of one man, but of two.” And Royce (John Watson) is doing the most jealous, heartbreaking, love puppy faces i have ever seen. This man has an acting range. It blows me away. The only downside, especially the first three eps are really bad written, but it gets better and there is a lot of potential to develop. (i will add a better picture of these two cuties as soon as i find one)

11. BBC Sherlock - closed in 4 seasons. It was brought to my attention that many people haven’t watched BBC Sherlock these days, or never finished it. So i am finally adding BBC Sherlock here as well. It plays in modern London and every episode is 90 minutes long. But every season has only three episodes. It doesn’t really has an overall plot but more focus on the overall cases. Nevertheless Moriaty is allways in the focus of the story. Sadly I can not say it is gay. But it is great at queerbaiting. So good that even the official BBC3 twitter channel posted Johnlock shipping posts… but they never become canon in this adaptation. Also neither John nor Sherlock are confirmed queer. The show heavily plays with the idea of them being a couple without actually ever going there. John even asked Sherlock if he has a boyfriend when they first meet. But actually the close relationship they have is allways played for jokes. There are some gay side characters but all of them turn out to be evil. Nevertheless season 1 to 3 and TAB are really well written and worth a look. Season 4 is a mess full of plotholes and abonding every chemistry these two shared in favor of a straight ending.

12: Sherlock Hound - closed in two seasons.

Sherlock Hound is an anime, done by Studio Ghibli, directed by Hayao Miyazaki (Totoro etc.). It is about Holmes and Watson who happen to be dogs, in a universe where everyone is a dog. The episodes are around 25 minutes long each, and always feature one closed case. It is always Moriarty and his gang vs. Holmes/Watson. There are many throwbacks to the original ACD books, which is really lovely. Sometimes the easter eggs are hidden, sometimes they are really obvious. I only have watched the first 8 cases but so far the show is a lot of fun because every character is treated with respect, especially John. He is not the dumb side kick but a best and caring friend. So there are many soft scenes between him and Holmes. Even though it is not "gay" it is still cute to watch, especially when you enjoy a well written Holmes/Watson dynamic. But they both seem to be attracted to Mrs. Hudson? Thats what i am still really confused about. I will keep you updated.

13. Sherlock & Co - season 1 still running

Sherlock & Co is podcast, currently running on Spotify and everywhere where you can listen to podcasts. Its about John who just returned from the Ukraine, wounded and jobless. And of course he ends up in 221B together with Holmes. And they start solving cases together. The twist, John is a podcaster in this one. So he always speaks directly, to us, the audience. So its an audio book, pretending to be a podcast. Its a lot of fun. John is an akward nerd in this one, suffering from PTSD, and Sherlock has canon autism, among other diagnoses. The cases are always split in two or three parts, between 20 to 30 minutes long. Is it gay? Well.... we don't know that yet. They made Victor Trevor gay, which is big thumb ups from me, and the authors are aware of Johnlock. But if they will go there eventually? Only time will tell.

14. The Great Mouse Detective - movie

Thats a Disney movie from 1986. Sherlock and Watson are mice, living under 221B. Watson just returned from Afghanistan and is looking for a flat. He runs into a little crying girl. Her father got kidnapped by Moriarty. They go to Sherlock and together they solve the case. Its a great fun movie but also super unhinged. It has some really scary scenes, considering its a kids movie. BBC Sherlock might call himself a drama queen. THIS Sherlock here is the real drama queen. Its unbelievable. But also really funny of course. Him and Watson are really soft, Sherlock cares deeply for Watson and its really sad when he wants to leave again eventually. Nothing gay of course but a well written Holmes/Watson relationship.

15. The hound of the baskervilles 2002/The case of silk Stocking

These two are TV movies, aired 2002 and 2004. The connecting element is Ian Hart as John Watson. The actor of Sherlock Holmes gets changes in the second movie:

Both Holmes aren't good options imo, but Ian Hart as John Watson is a dream. The first movie focuses A LOT on Watson. The second one.. not so much. Is it gay? Well... it is compliacted. The first one has a really interesting take on the Holmes/Watson relationship, opening the movie with Holmes and Watson in a turkish bath, and them sharing a deep bound and many emotional scenes together. I personally read those scenes as queer (even though they were probably never meant like this). Watson has a really active part in the relationship. Setting boundraies and telling Holmes what to do and not to do. The first movie ends with Holmes asking Watson out on a date. The second movie? Gives Watson a random book non-accuarte love interest, and mostly ignores him. In the end Watson marries and leaves Holmes behind, featuring the iconic line: "“For me,” said Sherlock Holmes, “there still remains the cocaine-bottle.” And he stretched his long white hand up for it." So there are some queer undertones and i really think they were intentional (like Holmes being featured on the wedding photo) but all in all it is not queer.

Upcoming: CBS Watson A medical drama, focusing on Watson who is working in a hospital. At this point Holmes already got killed by Moriarty. This is everything we know so fat. Watson will be played by Morriss Chestnut. It is written by the CBS Elemenetary writing team

Upcoming: Young Sherlock

Written by Guy Ritchie, it focus on the Young Sherlock Holmes, based on the Young Sherlock Holmes novels by Andrew Lane.

Not So Berry Mobile Edition

Have you done the Not So Berry Challenge in The Sims 4? Do you want more? Are you broke and only play The Sims Mobile? Well I hope your up to take up the originally by @lilsimsie . A challenge converted from The Sims 4 to The Sims Mobile!

Introducing The Not So Berry Challenge Mobile Edition! A ten generation legacy with a focus on bright colours and new experience.

1. All heir must be female.

2. Each heir must represent the colour and a theme of the generation (i.e. hair, makeup, clothing), but brightly colored skin is not necessary (these aren’t actually berry Sims, that’s the joke). Of course, this is optional but a big portion of the fun.

3. One room has to be dedicated to the heir and need to be decorated based on their colour and theme. (a bedroom is the most practical)

4. Each of the heir’s name has to be almost similar to the colour that they are representing (i.e. the colour is rose, therefore the name can be Rosie) and the last name can only be Berry.

5. Each time you start a new heir, it has to be fresh out of the box. Your heir can’t be a townie or a child and they can’t get the Good Upbringing Trait.

6. The colors of the spouses don’t matter as they aren’t part of the challenge. Unless otherwise stated you can do whatever you please with them.

7. Every generation is supposed to complete all tasks that they’re given of the heir unless explicitly stated otherwise.

8. You need most of the traits. The trait level doesn’t matter. You’ll get to choose two traits but the other two are fixed.

Yay! First one, and four to go through. Ooo and some big oneslol.

So let’s get started!

General - 10 - Who out of their friends was smuggest about themgetting together?

Heh. It depends on how you regard Tsunade really. Because she’dset up a poll on when the two would admit it. And she WON. She never let thatgo.

But I think it’s kind of a given that when we say friends wemean the ones around the same age lol. At least in this context.

So, say it with me kids.

INO!

Come on lol, she was the one trying to push them together foryears, so much so that she did a massive ‘I told you so!’ dance in thefaces of everyone who had doubted her betting the two would get together.

She was downright insufferable about it guys. Like she was anightmare about it. It went on for months. Hell she was still mentioning itoccasionally when they’d been married for a few years.

Ino is that friend who is sat at your ten year anniversarytaking credit for the whole relationship starting in the first place becauseshe’d masterminded it. She’s that woman.

And she’s not entirely wrong because:

Romantic - 5 - Did they try to keep their relationship a secret atall?

Yes. Yes, they did.

Which is why, as far as Sakura is concerned at least. There weretwo amounts of time they’d been together. The official version she tells peoplewho don’t need to know the messy details.

And then there’s the actual version. How they were hooking upand basically a couple for almost half a year before they were ‘caught’ and hadto come clean.

Ino was the one who caught them. Meaning the one who’s resolve broke first. Because she was sharing a apartment with Sakura and also … well truth be told, they’re not subtle.

ANYONE who knew them even a little could tell that they were both miles happier than usual, and the ones who weren’t living in denial or were painfully naive, knew why. Anyone unfortunate enough to go on a mission with them would get to have it proven that the two were having sex. Energetically and enthusiastically so.

Sasuke brought earplugs. He spent the first couple years of his time in Konoha having to go on all missions outside of the village with an escort. The mission mentioned in the bit of writing I did for yesterday’s NaruSaku week event, please find here, was the first one when Sasuke used his earplugs.

Because he couldn’t listen to two people he’d known since before puberty fuck like catholic rabbits in springtime. He just couldn’t. Not again.

It doesn’t help that they both had terrible poker faces about it and, now she was letting him, Naruto was determined to be as romantic whenever he could.

Naruto sent Sakura flowers on her birthday, to the ward she works in at the hospital no less, that had all the people Sakura worked with quizzing her about Naruto dropping them off and asking if he was her boyfriend.

And Sakura was too flustered and smitten with the gesture to deny that he was in fact her boyfriend. And Naruto didn’t stop doing things like that, and still hasn’t now they’re married and in their forties.

Sakura’s screw ups were a little less sweet. Because as I have established, my Sakura is the queen of perverts lol. The stupid girl needed to talk about all the good sex she was getting. And she was not very good at covering up the details on WHO she was sleeping with.

Out of the girls in their social circle, which grew with the inter-village politics improving, only Hinata was actively trying to ignore Sakura’s mention of whiskers and a seal that only ‘define the sexy muscles of his six pack!’

Plus she kept blowing off girly nights to hang out with Naruto, and when asked as to why she was spending so much time with Naruto … she would blush and get a dirty little look on her face.

So simply put? They tried. And were allowed to believe they were successful. Until Ino couldn’t take it anymore.

But hey, they tried lol.

Family/Parenthood - 6 - How did Naruto react when Sakura told himshe was pregnant?

Depends which time you mean. They’ve got four kids lol.

But let’s go with the first one this time. Cus it’s the funniest.

Naruto was ecstatic. Then he was terrified. Then he was paranoid and then he was nervous. And he would cycle through those reactions for months.

Because I don’t know if it’s been mentioned but … they were not expecting Sachi. At all. I’ve touched on why in my previous headcanon list, read this to see a little about it, but suffice to say, two very horny muppets in their early twenties decided to risk no protection and so along came Sachi.

Thankfully, Naruto and Sakura were well into their relationship at this point. Good few years at this point and so, it wasn’t as big of a problem as it could have been.

It just escalated a couple of things. They were already living together but now they needed a house. Naruto had been considering the best way to ask her to marry him for a couple months the moment Sakura passed him the positive pregnancy test. There was a ring on her finger within a month. The wedding being planned for after the baby was born.

So yeah, Naruto’s reaction to his girlfriend telling him she was pregnant first time … was probably about what you’d expect from a bloke already planning his future with said woman.

Ecstatic terror lol.

Family/Parenthood - 7 - How did Sakura react when she found outshe was pregnant?

We’ll go first time again, because if I get asked this one again I can do it three times lol.

Sakura, yeah Sakura freaked out.

Like she wasn’t worried Naruto would leave her or be anything other than the perfect man about it.

Because again, they’d been together for years, weddings and babies had been mentioned and even a little planned for. But always as something to be done when they were older.

She had some seriously deep conversations with a few people. She went to Ino first.

She couldn’t tell her parents and she knew Ino would keep it between them.

It was Ino who floated the idea of maybe getting an abortion. And Sakura would be lying if she said the idea hadn’t appealed to her. Something she said through tears when she admitted it to Naruto a couple of months into her pregnancy. Naruto was perfect about it of course and Sakura’s hormones made her want to hit him for it, kiss him for it and shake him for it for good measure.

But they were still so young and a child would be a life altering thing. An earth-shattering big thing to happen to both of them and what if they weren’t ready?But the thought of aborting Naruto and her’s child … Sakura couldn’t stomach it.

So with a lot of soul searching and talking it through with Naruto … they decided to keep the baby who would become Sachi Uzumaki.

And at any time when Sakura would question the logic of her decision … she would only need to look in Sachi’s eyes, or watch Naruto feed their daughter and she’d know.

She’d made the right decision.

a week in NYC on a $80,000 salary

Day One

5am: I wake up, snooze for 10 minutes, and do my morning face routine: rose toner, bronze eyeshadow, eyeliner, eyebrows. I make a fried egg over easy (a dozen for $1) and drink some peanut milk (homemade with peanuts, water, and sugar).

6:45am: I get to my monitoring appointment for my egg freezing process, and I get bloodwork and an ultrasound within 20 minutes. I pay for lupron, a trigger medication for the egg retrieval process scheduled for this weekend. I’m getting my egg freezing reimbursed, but for now I’m paying this out of pocket. $85.

7:50am: I get to work - it’s a Sunday, but I have a 12 hour shift ahead of me. I immediately get a sign-out about a patient with a weapon in his rectum, so this day is already wild.

12:00pm: The day hasn’t been too bad, actually; I microwave my pre-packed lunch - white rice with eggplant, chicken, and thai basil. I briefly entertain buying a drink from the vending machine, but it passes.

6:00pm: After a day of answering pages and browsing furniture, it’s dinner time! I microwave my pre-packed dinner - pesto chicken bread pudding that I made with my brother’s leftover sourdough bread. Back to work.

8:00pm: Time to go home! The night ended with a patient who caught a goose in Central Park with a fishing net and decapitated it. The police confiscated the knife and the goose.

10:00pm: Because it’s the weekend, my normal one hour commute becomes two hours. I talk to my prospective roommate about our housing plans, inject myself with follistim and clomiphene for the egg freezing, and pass out.

Daily total: $85 (to be reimbursed).

Day Two

6am: Same routine, but an hour later! Wash my face, get dressed, and an egg and peanut milk. Not having to think about breakfast makes my life easier when I’m already so groggy.

8am: I’m still on the subway, but we have virtual morning lectures from 8am-9am, so I just join on my phone. I get to the hospital at 8:10 and continue the lecture on wifi. I drop off the black sesame milk buns that I made over the weekend in the residents’ lounge.

9am: We have morning rounds for 30 minutes, and I go see my patients and write their notes. One of my patients is someone I saw in the ED yesterday, and she’s very sweet now that she’s no longer intoxicated.

12pm: Lunch time! I microwave my pre-packed lunch, same as yesterday, and chill with the other residents for an hour.

3pm: I count down to 3pm for the donut drop from Kora; within 3 minutes, the donuts are sold out. Thankfully, I made it - 2 sets of the Sari-Sari (leche flan, ube, churron, halo-halo, and keso). All set for pick-up on Friday. :) $65.

4pm: I get out of work, and go home to chill, work on the apartment rental application, and work out.

7:30pm: Dinner with my mom eating leftovers, and then Stone Age (a free online board game with friends).

10pm: Follistim and clomiphene again, and off to bed.

Daily total: $65 (hopefully will be reimbursed for $56 since I’m sharing with 6 other people)

Day Three

5am: I have to go for monitoring again today, so I wake up early ... and do the same routine, except with hot HK milk tea instead of peanut milk to warm me up.

7am: It’s 50 degrees outside, and I decide to cancel my dinner plans (outdoor dining with a friend) because I’m not dressed appropriately for the weather. I go in for monitoring and it turns out I need to take a medication as soon as I get home from work, so I have an even better excuse to cancel.

10am: I discharge two patients, one of whom is my age and is one of the nicest patients I’ve ever had. I have medical students now, so I bring them along to see my patients.

12pm: Lunch time - I microwave my pesto chicken bread pudding that I brought from home. I was hoping to snack on a black sesame milk bun, but they’re all gone. :(

5pm: I go home instead of going to dinner, but it turns out that I don’t have the medication after all. I contact the ob/gyn, but it’s not available at any pharmacies; I’ll just pick it up from the clinic tomorrow (for free).

7:30pm: I eat leftovers again for dinner (peking duck and steamed dumplings). The rest of the night is pretty low-key; lazing in bed and scrolling through social media. I get myself to do a few squats, but I feel so meh that I don’t really end up doing much and call it a night.

Daily total: $0

Day Four

5am: It’s getting pretty tiring waking up early for these appointments - can’t wait for them to be over! The follicles are growing nicely :) I pick up the medication and make sure I don’t lose it this time.

10am: I discharge another patient, who is legit one of the most motivated patients I’ve ever met; he called his pharmacy to make sure that his medications would get sent properly.

12pm: I remembered that I had some leftover beef rendang from dinner last week, so I microwave that for lunch. I also take the medication ... vaginally, and I lie down on the couch for 10 minutes awkwardly while my co-residents come in and out of the lounge.

5pm: I catch up with a friend through FaceTime, and we talk for 2 hours about self-quarantining, socializing, therapy, and being tired introverts.

7pm: Duke is hosting a free private screening of Miss Juneteenth with a panel of speakers (including the film director and producer), so I watch it while eating dinner with some college friends. I didn’t immediately love the movie, but the panel definitely made me appreciate it a lot more.

10pm: Medications again, and off to bed because I have ANOTHER early appointment tomorrow. Oof.

Day Five

5am: I press snooze and I basically get out of bed at 5:30 and leave at 5:50. I’m coughing a bit this morning, and I’m 99% sure I don’t have covid, but I don’t know for sure.

9:30am: I talk to my attending and program coordinator about my very mild symptoms - slightly running nose, dry cough - and they recommend that I just get tested downstairs. It’s very efficient; I sign up for a patient portal, and I get bloodwork and the nasopharyngeal swab for the PCR. I really do not want to get swabbed again unless I have to; it does not feel good.

12pm: Microwaved lunch again - rice with tofu and beef, which my mom made last night.

2pm: I’m negative for antibodies!

5pm: I take a quick trip to Chinatown to grab some snacks - drinks at Bambu for two, which I have 20% off for ($14) and a set of 6 cheese tarts from Pink Lady ($16). $30.

6pm: My fertility doctor calls me and tells me that we have to reschedule my egg retrieval until I get my covid result back. :(

7pm: I meet up with two friends for dinner at a Korean-Uzbek restaurant near my house; it turns out that they do outdoor dining! We were originally planning on doing takeout and eating in my backyard, but this works, too. We get lagman (a hot Uzbek beef noodle soup), kuksi soup (a cold Korean noodle soup reminiscent of naemgyung), 4 pieces of manty (Uzbek beef-lamb dumplings served with sour cream), and a Korean beef bun. $17

9pm: We go back to the teahouse in my backyard, and eat cheese tarts and finish our drinks. We lose track of time talking about furniture styles, dating, splurges, and money diaries. I regretfully have to end the night at 10:30pm because it’s time for my medications, and I have to go to sleep.

Day Six

6am: I didn’t have to go in this morning, whew! We also don’t have lecture this morning, so I had a leisurely morning reviewing my patient charts.

9:30am: Negative covid test, yay!!! Egg retrieval is on for Sunday.

12pm: Microwaved rice with eggplant, chicken, and thai basil again. I still have 2+ weeks worth of this and the pesto chicken bread pudding at home; I really should freeze it.

2pm: I try to talk to my new admission, but apparently he refuses to talk for the first three days every admission. So ... just chilling.

5pm: I go to my bank to get certified checks, but it turns out they’re $12 each and money orders are only $1 at the post office ... so I go to the post office. I get two checks for $1200 and $750 and pay $4.75 in fees. They’re supposed to be reimbursed, but I have to pay the application fee for my rental building up front. $1954.75

6:30pm: I give one donut to my brother and I sell one to someone else, so I get some money back!

7pm: I meet up with friends for dinner at Tradisyon, where we split a bunch of entrees among 5 people: squid, lechon, sisig, mackerel, and kare kare. Everything was delicious :) We shared the donuts, but they were actually really dense, so we only ate 5. Idk what I’m doing with the 3 leftover donuts :x $15.

10pm: We continue hanging out but it gets too cold and I need to inject myself at 10:15pm, so we end up going to someone’s studio apartment nearby :O First time hanging out indoors for some of us!

Daily total: $1969.75 ($1950 to be reimbursed)

Day Seven

8am: I go in for final bloodwork, and I pay for the egg retrieval procedure for tomorrow - oof. I’ve never had to spend so much at one time, and I was mortified when my credit card was declined. We put half on my credit card and half on my debit card. $3250.

9am: I hang out at Chris’ apartment because I need to wait until 10:15am for my second injection, and I may or may not need to have the procedure today if my bloodwork comes back indicating that I may be ovulating. We chill and wait for Daniella to arrive.

11am: We decide that it’s way too cold outside to go biking in Central Park or eat out, and we ultimately decide on spicy hunan food from the restaurant right next door to Chris’ apartment. We order a LOT of food - mapo tofu, eggplant with green beans, chongqing chicken, hot and sour soup, beef noodle soup - and eat at his kitchen counter. I drink some of Chris’ tea with his maple oat milk from Trader Joe’s. $24.

2pm: After a lot of conversations while chilling on Chris’ couch (and a 15 minute nap), we decide to go for a short walk outside so that we can feel slightly productive on our free day together. We check out some cool recycled trash sculptures of dogs that are ... kinda ugly.

3pm: I go home and spend the rest of the day freecycling (posting stuff I don’t want anymore for other people to pick up from my house) and chilling.

8pm: It’s Saturday night, which means my dad makes sushi for us. It’s a decadent, delicious, and free meal for me :)

9pm: I go to bed early for my procedure tomorrow!

Daily total: $3274 ($3250 to be reimbursed)

Weekly total: $5440.75 ($5317.88 to be reimbursed, so actually $122.87).

A “Humerus” Sleepover (Chapter 6)

Chapter 6 and the conclusion to this story. In the previous chapter, the terrifying stranger was revealed to be Gaster and he acted like a really nasty jerk to everyone in the room. But at the end of the chapter, it was revealed that the reason for acting the way he did was all just a prank to scare Sans. And he succeeded. ;) All Gaster has to do now is clear the air with Frisk, M.K., and Papyrus. :D After he's finished ticking Sans that is. ;P Undertale(c) Toby Fox.

Chapter 6: M.K. Makes a New Friend

Sans: AHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA!!!!!!!

Frisk: (Oh… my… god!! I can’t believe it was all just a prank!! Way to go Gaster!!)

Frisk and M.K. were so relieved that they weren’t actually in trouble. The two of them of have never seen Gaster angry before and Frisk’s frown turned upside down really fast the moment she found out it was all just an act. And what a VERY convincing performance too! Gaster was WAY MORE intimidating than Undyne! Papyrus was so surprised that he fainted! Unknown to everyone, Gaster showed up much earlier (around the time Papyrus began helping the children tickle Sans) and hid from everyone before initiating his terrifying prank. He purposely let Sans get tickle tortured by Frisk, M.K., and Papyrus before stepping in. But he’s not going to tell Sans that!

Sans: WHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAT THE HEHEHEHEHEHEHELL?!!!!!!! AHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!

Sans is completely shocked right now. He couldn’t believe that everything his father did was all just a prank. Gaster lifted him up in the air just so he could tickle him for thirty seconds. Gaster figured it should be short because scaring the hell out of him was his primary goal, and because Sans already got tickle tortured for an entire hour. Even though Gaster gave Sans a taste of his own medicine, he definitely knew that he went too far. He felt terribly guilty for including Frisk, M.K., and Papyrus in the prank, but he thought that Sans would’ve been able to tell if they were in on it and he wanted to make it as convincing as possible. He succeeded. The reason he yelled at Frisk, M.K., and Papyrus and acted like a heartless jerk to them was to see if Sans would stand up for them and prove how much he cares about them, to which he did. Gaster knew he could make Sans mad enough to attack him, giving him all the more reason to “punish” him. The crazy thing is, Gaster isn’t even mad at Sans for attacking him. He probably would’ve done the same thing if he was in Sans’s position. Everything fell into place very nicely, even better than what Gaster anticipated actually. Except for making M.K. cry that is.

Sans: AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!

Gaster: You just got pranked Sans! Not so fun being on the receiving end of them is it? Papyrus told you that someone would get you back! *stops tickling Sans* You just didn’t think it was going to be me, did you?

Gaster then made the hands disappear and gently placed Sans back on the couch.

Sans: No, I didn’t! I gotta say, you really scared the living hell out of me! Last time I got that scared was six months ago when I thought Frisk died!

Frisk: *smiling* (Awwww! It warms my heart to hear how much you care about me Sans!)

Gaster: Well you can rest easy now Sans. It’s all over. I deeply apologize for everything I’ve done. Kids, I’m sorry I included you in the prank. I truly didn’t want to scare you like that. It’s just that Sans has the tendency of knowing if someone’s in on a prank.

Frisk: I understand Dr. Gaster. You just wanted to make it as convincing as possible.

Gaster: I knew you would Frisk. Now if the two of you don’t mind, there’s a frightened child sitting next to you that I’d like to speak with. But perhaps I should help Papyrus regain consciousness first.

Frisk: I can do that Dr. Gaster. This isn’t the first time Papyrus has fainted in front of me.

With Sans still in shock from the prank and Frisk reviving Papyrus, Gaster turned his attention over to M.K. Gaster felt so terrible that he made M.K. cry, so he took some time to comfort the young boy. M.K. isn’t well acquainted with Gaster like Asriel, Frisk, and Chara are and after tonight’s incident; Gaster is hoping he can change that. As Gaster moved towards M.K., the young boy curled up into a ball again because he was still in shock from everything that happened moments ago. M.K. still had tears running down his face, but they have drastically died down at this point.

Gaster: Hey, it’s alright young man. I’m very sorry I frightened you. Come here. It’s ok. *tearing up a little*

M.K.: *still scared*

Gaster: I understand that you’re still afraid young man. I know how scary I can be. I just want you to give me a chance to apologize.

Gaster then caressed the young boy’s head to comfort him while he was still in shock from the prank.

M.K.: *looks up at Gaster all teary-eyed after one minute*

Gaster: You know, Papyrus told me that you like hugs. Is it ok if I give you one?

M.K., who still has tears in his eyes, then sat up, nodded yes, and held his arms out for a hug. Gaster was so touched that M.K. wanted a hug from him and as the two of them hugged, Gaster gently caressed and patted M.K.’s back while continuously telling him that everything was ok. Before too long, Frisk managed to revive Papyrus.

Papyrus: *regains consciousness* What’s going on? Where am I? Oh hi Frisk. Have you seen my father around anywhere?

Frisk: *whispering* Papyrus, shh.

Papyrus: *sees Gaster hugging M.K. and whispers back* Oh sorry. I didn’t know. (There’s the dad I know and love!)

It took an additional two minutes of Gaster’s comforting to take full effect and when it did, M.K. felt much better and began smiling again.

Gaster: *smiling* Ah, there he is.

Gaster was so happy to see M.K. smiling again and he has an idea to keep him smiling.

Gaster: You know M.K., Papyrus also told me about something else you like.

M.K.: What would that be Dr. Gaster?

Gaster: Well, *tickles M.K.’s sides* he told me that you like being tickled!

M.K.: AHAHAHAAHAAHAAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA!

Frisk and Papyrus: (Aww, how adorable!)

In an attempt to keep M.K. happy, Gaster tickled him for twenty seconds. Gaster is well aware that his bony fingers tickle more than human fingers, so he moved his fingers as lightly as possible. Papyrus and Frisk were also happy to see M.K. smiling and laughing again and M.K. isn’t smiling just because he’s being tickled; he’s also smiling because he is realizing how nice Gaster truly is.

M.K.: AHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAAHHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAA!

Gaster: And finished! *stops tickling M.K.* How did you like that young man?

M.K.: It was fun! Thanks Dr. Gaster! *hugs Gaster*

Gaster: *smiling* Oh, you’re hugging me now. Can’t argue with that. *hugs M.K. back*

M.K. is now one of the happiest kids Gaster has ever seen. After another hug, Gaster told M.K. that he thought it was brilliant how he used his tail to tickle Sans. M.K. was a bit surprised to hear Gaster say such a thing, but he’s just so happy that the nice man also believes that he should use his unique features to his advantage when it comes to tickling.

M.K.: Yo! Dr. Gaster, I have to ask. Why the heck was Sans laughing during the prank? You know, the part where you were being scary and all that.

Gaster then told M.K. the reason why Sans was laughing at that rather inappropriate time. Gaster told him that the wiggling motions from his shivering tail tickled Sans’ spine, to which the young boy responded…

M.K.: Say, that’s actually… kind of funny! *starts giggling*

Gaster: You know; it kind of is! Hahaha!

Papyrus: Nyeh heh heh!

Frisk: *giggling*

Sans: (Seriously guys?)

After comforting M.K., Gaster took some time to comfort Frisk too. Frisk wasn’t nearly as frightened as M.K. but it didn’t stop Gaster from giving her a hug and a brief tickle too.

Gaster: *in a playful manner* Now it’s your turn young lady. *tickles Frisk*

Frisk: *Gaster tickles her sides for twenty seconds* AHAHAAHHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA!!

Gaster: *stops tickling Frisk* Again, I really am sorry for scaring you kids.

Frisk: It’s perfectly fine Dr. Gaster. We know now that you just wanted to prank Sans. And you really got him good!

M.K.: More than good actually! He was downright terrified! And so was I!

Frisk: We all were! You’re a great actor Dr. Gaster!

Gaster: Aww thanks kids. Oh and don’t worry Papyrus, I didn’t forget about you.

Papyrus: …

Gaster: I’m sorry.

Papyrus: It’s ok Dad. I forgive you.

Gaster: I knew you would Papyrus. *with a smile on his face* Say, what’s this behind your (nonexistent) ear?

Papyrus: *excited smile*

Gaster: *pulls a lollipop out of nowhere* Why it’s a lollipop!

Papyrus: Wowie! Thanks Dad!

Gaster: *chuckling* You’re most welcome Papyrus. *pats Papyrus’s head*

Papyrus: Yay! I’m so glad everything’s back to normal again! This night turned out great after all!

Gaster then turned his attention over to Sans once again.

Gaster: Sans, are you alright?

Sans: Don’t worry, I’m fine. I just can’t believe you managed to prank me like that. I’m very surprised. I guess you could say that I’m…“Tickled pink.”

*Ba dum tss!*

Gaster, Frisk, and M.K.: *laughing*

Papyrus: Oh my god Sans! Even after being tickled into insanity and getting scared to death, you still have the nerve make those awful puns!

Frisk: Your brother is quite ticklish Papyrus! I guess you could say he’s really… “Sans”itive!

*Ba dum tss!*

Gaster, Sans, and M.K.: *harder laughing*

Papyrus: *trying REALLY HARD not to smile* Ugh! Not you too Frisk!

Sans: *chuckling* Nice one kid. You just made Pap smile.

Frisk: Is that true Papyrus?

Papyrus: Yes! But it was a pity smile! (It wasn’t a pity smile!)

Sans: Whatever you say bro.

Gaster: Come on Papyrus! Even you have to admit these puns are rather… “Rib tickling”!

*Ba dum tss!*

Sans, Frisk, and M.K.: *even harder laughing*

Papyrus: Not you too Dad! Ugh! I changed my mind! This is one of the worst nights ever!

M.K.: Papyrus, don’t be like that! Other than the part where I got scared out of my mind, I would say this night was rather… *points to Sans’s right humerus* “Humerus!”

*Ba dum tss!*

Gaster, Sans, and Frisk: *howling with laughter*

Sans: *still howling with laughter* Oh my god kid! That was so good! *continues laughing*

Papyrus: Ugh! I’m going to the basement! Feel free to come down and join me when you’re done being weird! *walks away and smiles when no one is looking*

Before the kids went downstairs to spend some time with Papyrus (and apologize to him for “being weird”), they wanted to talk to Gaster before he went back to his place. But before they did that, Sans wanted to speak with them momentarily.

Sans: Well kids, I gotta say. You REALLY got me good tonight with all that tickling. But know this… *in an intimidating tone* I. WILL. GET. REVENGE.

Frisk and M.K.: *a bit nervous*

Sans: *drops the intimidating act* And I’m not gonna tell when it’s coming either. It’s not going to be tonight though. I’m MUCH TOO EXHAUSTED to get revenge on you kids tonight. But keep in mind; it could be tomorrow, one week from now, or even a month from now. So you kids better watch yourself. *while smiling* Have a good sleep.

M.K.: *teasing Sans* Oh Sans, you always talk a big game. But Frisk and I both know that you won’t be too rough on us if you actually DO get revenge.

Frisk: *in a teasing tone* Yeah, you’ll take it easy on us because you LOVE us. *childish giggling* You LOVE us, and you know it.

Sans: *teasing Frisk* Don’t push it kid.

The kids then went to the kitchen to speak with Gaster before going downstairs. Gaster figured that Sans could use some alone time after that terrifying prank, so he decided to go to the kitchen in order to give his son some privacy.

Frisk: So Dr. Gaster, did you have fun with Asriel tonight?

Gaster: I sure did. That boy has a very creative mind.

M.K.: What do the two of you do together? If you don’t mind me asking that is.

Gaster: Asriel, Frisk, and Chara didn’t tell you?

M.K.: No they didn’t.

Gaster: Well I’ll tell you. We play role-playing games together.

Asriel and Gaster bond by playing tabletop role-playing games together and Gaster has a nice assortment of them too. With the monsters now living on the surface, it was only a matter of time until they discovered these types of games and both Asriel and Gaster enjoy them very much. Some may consider them nerds for liking these types of games, but they don’t care. :)

M.K.: Really? I gotta say; I’m kinda surprised. I never took you as someone who likes those types of things.

Gaster: Believe me; I’m just as surprised as you are. Have you ever played one of those games before young man?

M.K.: I haven’t. They sound cool, but I’ve never had a chance to actually play one of them.

Gaster: Well in that case, feel free to join me and Asriel some time. We could always use an extra player.

Frisk: They’re fun M.K.! I’ve actually played a few times with them myself, and so has Chara.

M.K.: I might just do that Dr. Gaster. Thank you.

Gaster: You’re welcome M.K. You’re a good kid. *rubs M.K.’s head* You deserve each and every friend you have, and I would be honored to be one of them.

M.K.: You wanna be friends with… me?

Gaster: Of course M.K., more than anything. You’re a good kid.

M.K.: Sometimes I don’t think I am.

Gaster: Now why on earth would you think something like that?

M.K.: Last week, I did something to Undyne that I’m not proud of and I think there’s a chance that she and Alphys won’t ever trust me again because of it. Last week, I…

Gaster: *politely interrupts M.K.* M.K., I don’t need to know what you did. Whatever it was, I’m positive that the three of you will manage to work things out. And who knows, it might be sooner than you think. You are one of the most well-mannered and kind-hearted individuals I’ve ever had the privilege to know. And anything you say or do, whether positive or negative, won’t ever make me think less of you.

M.K.: *hugs Gaster while tearing up* Thanks so much Dr. Gaster!

Gaster: *hugs M.K. back*

M.K.: That really means a lot coming from you!

Gaster: Well I mean it M.K. I know a good kid when I see one. That’s why Alphys built you those arms in the first place. She probably wouldn’t have done that for you if you were a bad kid. Think about that for a second.

M.K.: …Hey you’re right! I never thought of it like that!

Gaster: You see? You’ll earn back those girls’ trust. It’s just all a matter of time. And I have confidence that you will more than exceed their expectations.

Gaster and M.K. then shared a long hug.

Gaster: Now you kids have a good rest of the night. It’s was very nice seeing both of you again.

Frisk: Likewise Dr. Gaster. Good night.

Gaster: Good night Frisk.

M.K.: Good night… friend.

Gaster: *smiling* Good night M.K. *rubs M.K.’s head*

And with that, Frisk and M.K. made their way down to basement to spend some additional time with Papyrus before turning in for the night and Gaster spoke with Sans a little while longer before he took off. Frisk and M.K. will most likely be playing some games with Papyrus before going to bed.

Frisk: Hey Papyrus, M.K. and I are sorry for saying those “awful” puns earlier.

M.K.: Yeah, we’re sorry Papyrus.

Papyrus: It’s ok kids, I forgive you. Is Sans coming down soon?

M.K.: I’m not sure. Knowing him, he might have fallen asleep again.

Frisk: Either that or he’s talking to Dr. Gaster.

Papyrus: Well in that case, I better go check on him. Sans deserves to have fun too, even if he does make awful puns. I’ll carry him downstairs if I have to.

Frisk: Haha, ok Papyrus. See you in a few minutes.

Papyrus then went upstairs to check on Sans and say goodbye to his father. Since Frisk and M.K. already said goodbye and good night to Gaster, they decided to wait patiently for Papyrus to return, quite possibly with him carrying Sans in his arms.

Frisk: Well M.K., if Dr. Gaster’s words of wisdom didn’t convince you that you’re a good kid, I don’t know what will.

M.K.: *smiling* Don’t worry Frisk… I’m convinced.

Surviving VidCon Europe 2017

So, I am slowly getting back to being alive again. So far since crawling out of my bed (for the second time today) at one pm, I have only tripped twice, bumped my head thrice, and spilled/dropped stuff (drink/bread/butter/washing-powder) four times. So yay! :D Now to try and put these past days into words. In only one word is easy: AMAZING. But there is so much more to say than just that it was probably the best weekend I have had in years. So many feelings to describe, so many emotions to be conveyed. And so many people to thank.

Let's start this tale at last Thursday, April 6th, 2017. Under an indecisive sky I waited for Johanna, the fellow Vidcon-volunteer, whom I had only talked to through Skype for an awkward half hour before that day, that was going to stay at my place for the coming nights. With a delay of five hours her bus from Vienna finally arrived at Sloterdijk, and I got to meet her at last in real life. And what luck I had in having her for a guest. Johanna is a young woman with a base state of happiness that is so heart-warming and mind-soothing to undergo and be around, it is almost unreal. That being coupled with a sharp mind and a smart wit made her one of my favorite people I know through the power of the internet almost immediately. The lively and intriguing conversation we had during our short walk through the woods in Castricum after dropping off her bags at my place was a confirmation of my first instincts. After the walk we cooked together, ate our prize, and then played two rounds of Kahuna before going to bed early-ish. Friday we got up at what felt early for me then, but was to become a blessed long sleep compared to the days after. ;) Following a typical Dutch breakfast with bread with 'hagelslag' we took the train to Amsterdam. We started the day with a tour of the more typical touristy locations so Johanna could check them off of her list, after which we went to the Vondelpark where an International Nerdfighter Meeting was organized by good soul Richard. It was the first time in years that I was at a Nerdfighter meeting where I knew less than seventy-five percent of the people. The sun was a bit unsure about it all (though managed to burn me nonetheless), but I think all had a great time. There was songs being sung, games being played, and friends being gained. Johanna, me, and several others had to leave the gathering for a while, because there was a volunteer-training scheduled at the RAI. Other than finally meeting Nick who was our coordinator, I didn't learn much there and then. But I did get to meet more of my fellow volunteers, which was cool. A whole bunch of them joined us at the pizza-place that evening, which made us a group of over 60 for a reservation of 20, but after splitting in two we still had food for all, spread out over two restaurants. All in all, a good day, filled with loads of nice people. Okay, I felt a bit tired from the somewhat too much walking I had done, and my forehead almost gave light from the sunburn, but I figured I would manage. Then again, Vidcon hadn't even started for real yet, for me. :D That happened on Saturday. And oh wow, did it start. So many people eager for an event they had been waiting for for months, if not years. Lines of fans waiting for a chance to meet, touch and take pictures with their heroes, whom they had so far only seen in digital form. And that sea of enthusiasm was compressed to a stream of roiling emotions in the meet-and-greet-wristband-distribution-line. My original shift was a bit over-staffed compared to the understaffed situation at this bottleneck of the first morning, so I was transferred to help out there. And thus I got a first glimpse of what this weekend would entail for me. Hard work, and loads of smiling faces filled with anticipation and joy. In an attempt to entertain the masses while they waited, and to keep myself awake as well, I did some frolicking and goofing around, doing impromptu little dances and pirouettes whenever I had the chance. But as time moved on, it became clear that the lines were filling way faster than we were clearing them, so an extra line was created, and the time for whimsical folly was over. I know for a fact that I was by far the worst wristband-attacher of all times, but looking down and me are not the best of friends. ;) As my shift ended, my neck and eyes were hurting, as well as my fingers. But still, I was filled with an overflowing sense of warmth and happiness just because I was helping people get the best days of their lives. After a short break, and catching the first half of The Vlogbrothers' Q&A, I started what eventually became my favorite shift of the weekend: The Vidcon Booth. Seriously, I was born to stamp passports-of-joy. Enticing people to just go that one more step to get not five, but ten stamps was such fun. Coming up with creative reasons why/how people earned the stamp for “Awesomeness” was the most energy-giving thing I have done in ages. Being on various selfies I had 'forced' people to take for yet another stamp, or just seeing the weird/cute/tender/beautiful selfies being taken right in front of me to earn that precious red blob of ink. Encouraging people to write or draw something on the wall, and then later realizing they had made a little piece of art. All that and more made it the best few hours of 'work' I have ever had. I went across the street for a quick Dirk-van-den-Broek sandwhich for dinner, and then it was time for the Saturday-evening featured-creator-show. Being blown away by the facial expressions and amazing voice of Carrie Hope Fletcher and the wonderful poetry of Savannah Brown made up for the somewhat cringe-worthy Max and Harvey performance. Matthew Patrick closed the night with words of power and honesty that made me want to hug him to make him feel better, and thank him for making so many others feel better. And then it was time for the trip home. The NS had decided to work on the tunnel between Amsterdam and home, so we (Johanna and I) were fearing a replacement bus-service was to be our lot, but luckily the whole weekend we managed to time our travels thus perfect that we could catch the rerouted intercity home. Five hours of sleep is a lot more than four-and-a-half, so we were quite happy with that, indeed. :D My Sunday shifts were a lot less exciting to me. I was room-monitor in the morning, and auditorium monitor in the afternoon. But to be fair, I don't know if I could have handled much else after I started the Vidcon-day with a tumble on the concrete floor. Both my knee and my shoulder were scuffed, and turned stiff quite rapidly. But hey, the show must go on, so I kept doing my utmost best to make everyone around me have the bestest of times at this first ever Vidcon Europe. The morning-shift I decided to be the outside-monitor, as that ensured me to have a quiet start of the day, and meant less walking around with the microphone. But the auditorium was too big to be handled by one mic-walker. And at that point my energy had been adequately replenished by the many awesome fellow volunteers. So I happily went were the panels wanted me to go. The two panels during which I had my shift were very interesting and I will certainly take some of their words with me. In between all of this, there were of course the meet&Greets I myself had the opportunity to have. On Saturday I got to hug Emma Blackery, and give her a bag of fizzy peaches, proving that not all forty year old followers of her are creepy af. Sunday in the afternoon I hugged Hank Green (@edwardspoonhands.tumblr.com this is what I meant when I said I still blame you: http://piarou-neelix.tumblr.com/post/153356577720/i-blame-you), and between my last shift and the volunteer-thank-you-party, I met Hannah Witton, whom I had already met almost exactly two years earlier in Amsterdam. After hugging her, it was straight to the Nedfighter-special event, but that was a bit too noisy for me, so I retreated to the volunteers' little safe-haven of calm and quiet next to registration, where I doled out my ever-present new addiction, Verkade Bites (seriously, don't eat them, or don't blame me). Then it was time for the aforementioned volunteer-thank-you-party, where I managed to grab a bite of food as well. I was amazed to realize I hadn't even met all volunteers yet that were in the room. And all were amazing, seriously. So much friendliness and warmth in one room was invigorating to the soul, and strengthened my already high trust and belief in humanity. A (not completely) surprise-visit by Hank Green, where we caught him in a circle of high-fives, and some completely unexpected gifts were nice unneeded bonuses to an already awesome event. It all ended with the logical end, the Sunday-evening featured-creator-show. We had missed the beginning due to our 'private' party, but saw most of it anyways. Dodie and Jon Cozart were, in my humble opinion, the stars of the evening, and Kwebbelkop surprised me with the way he filled his time on stage in a positive way, but all on stage were amazing this evening. Except maybe for the herring. ;) But as with all things, even the best of the best events have to end some time, and so it went here as well. After hugs and farewells Johanna and I took our leave of the Rai to once again travel to Castricum, and our much needed beds...

...for four hours of sleep. :( Johanna, adventurer as she is, had to go to her next big memory-in-the-making, and had to be at Schiphol at six in the morning. So after a short night, and a very weirdly quiet train-ride, it was time for me to say goodbye to my new friend (for now). She took the one train, that being her first step on the road to India and a new adventure, and I took the other back to Castricum again, and to another couple of hours of sleep. And then, it was all really over. But in my mind, the event will never end. My heart, head, and soul has been changed by all the wonderful people I have met during these past four days, the new friends I made, and the words I heard. Especially the awesome group of volunteers I will not soon forget. Once again I have seen the proof that the world of the interwebs is a powerful world indeed, and that it can do the most beautiful things, and knit the most awesome communities out of yarn from many different types of stories.
