Always a good day when someone marked red with Shinigami Eyes blocks you.
For the record, asexuals & aromantics aren't straight. If they were, then there wouldn't be the need for a separate word to describe them. They would just fall under heterosexuality & heteromanticism. Since they don't, guess what? They're queer, and are subject to all the same prejudices as other queer people.
Anyone who claims otherwise is definitely drinking the TERF koolaid, even if they don't want to admit it or don't actually fall under the "RF" part of that acronym.

Tumblr media
Privacy Badger : this add on will block trackers. if an element contains a tracker it will give you the option to use it or not
Shinigami Eyes: this will highlight transphobic and trans friendly users and sites using different colors by using a moderated database. perfect to avoid terfs on any social media. i will explain how to use this and other add-ons on android as well under the read more cut
THINGS YOU TUMBLINAS WANT:
Xkit: the best tumblr related add on. with many customizable options, xkit not only enhances your experience from a visual standpoint, but provides some much needed accessibility tools
Tumblr media Tumblr media
bonus: if you are into tf2 and wanna be a cool cat, you can also get the old version to add cool reblog icons
Tumblr media
AO3 enhancer: some basic enhancements including reading time and the ability to block authors and tags
YOUTUBE
Return of the YouTube Dislike : pretty self explanatory
Youtube non-stop: gets rid of the annoying "Video paused. Continue watching?" popup when you have a video in the background
SponsorBlock: gives you options to skip either automatically or manually sponsors, videoclip non music sectors and discloses other type of sponsorships/paid partnerships
Enhancer for YouTube: adds some useful options such as custom play speed, let's you play videos in a window and most important of all, it allows you to make the youtube interface as ugly as your heart desires. Image Search Options: similar to the last one
this next section is pretty niche but... STEAM AND STEAM TRADING
SteamDB: adds some interesting and useful statistics
Augmented Steam: useful info specially for browsing and buying games
TF2 Trade Helper: an absolute godsend, lets you add items in bundles, keeps track of your keys and metal and your recent trades, displays links to the backpack tf page next to users profiles and more. look it tells me how much moneys i have and adds metal to trades without clicking one by one oh may god
Tumblr media
IN CONCLUSION: oooooh you want to change to firefox so badly, you want to delete chrome and all the chrome clones that are actually just spyware and use firefox
HOW TO USE MOZILLA ADD-ONS ON YOUR PHONE
if you already use firefox on android, you'll know there are certain add-ons compatible with the app, some of them even being made just for the mobile version such as Video Background Play FIx. while most of them are pretty useful, some more specific ones aren't available on this version of the browser, but there's a way of getting some of them to work
you need to download the firefox nightly app, which is basically the same as the regular firefox browser but with the ability of activating developer mode. you can find how to do that here. once you've enabled it, you need to create a collection with all the add ons you want. i wouldn't recommend adding extensions if the creators haven't talked about phone compatibility, but XKit and Shinigami Eyes should work
also, don't tell the government this secret skater move, but you can try using both the regular firefox browser and nightly so you can have youtube videos in a floating box while you browse social media.
Tumblr media
see? i can block this terf while Rick Rolling the people following this tutorial. isn't that tubular?

Yesterday I finished moving to Firefox so here's some extensions. First, the serious ones:
AdBlocker Ultimate: Your run-of-the-mill adblock. I chose this one instead of uBlock since I'm fairly sure uBlock was giving me problems on Chrome and I don't wanna repeat the experience. You can use the "Block Element" feature to get rid of all the new annoying Tumblr features, it's easy.
ClearURLS: Removes tracking from URLs.
Decentraleyes: Protects from tracking & targeted ads.
DuckDuckGo Privacy Essentials: More tracking, cookies, etc etc protection.
Privacy Badger: More tracking protection.
Shinigami Eyes: Marks transphobic blogs/accounts/profiles red.
Alright now some less serious, more fun ones:
Enhancer For Youtube: Gives you a highly customizable utility bar with features like simple screenshotting, pop-up players, volume enhancement, & other things. Also has the ability to alter your YouTube theme and toggle settings that'll stop pesky YouTube tabs from automatically starting.
Firefox Color: Custom themes for dummies! It doesn't customize everything but it gets pretty close. I think this would be a good tool for folks who need high contrast themes and can't find pre-made ones suited to their needs. Also comes with a few pre-made themes you can either use or use as bases.
LanguageTool: A spelling and grammar checking program that works in many languages and on all websites!
OneTab: Turns tabs into lists. Fantastic for when you're knee-deep in hyperfixation/special interest territory, or even for research.
Turbo Download Manager: Helps with frustrating downloads.
Video DownloadHelper: Gives you options to download any video from your tabs in multiple formats. Also has the option to download and convert to another format. [Update: This one requires a paid subscription AND externally downloaded program for these features. Nevermind.]
XKit Rewritten: Most Tumblr users already know of xKit but I'm including the link nonetheless! This kit makes Tumblr on PC enjoyable.
Custom Scrollbars: Makes your scrollbar pretty :)
Also, Firefox has their own page of useful add-ons, like Facebook containers and note-taking extensions. There's also a ton of themes. I don't think any of these are advertised on the main add-ons page? So I might as well mention it.
cheers :)

what would you say are the traits to keep in mind for preventing mischaracterization of Yuma?
It's worth clarifying before I go into this that these are traits I personally look out for whenever I plan to write for Yuma. This isn't a targeted critique at anyone else's interpretation of Yuma. Writers are free to write however they want for a character, and I just happen to stick closer to canon while still taking creative liberties with elements that I believe can be expanded upon. If anything, this is just a nice reminder for myself, while potentially giving advice to those looking for it. Anyways, I gotta actually answer the question!
I haven't written as much with Yuma as I've done for Vivia, Yakou, Yomi, and even Shinigami (I really need to write more for Hitman Zilch too augh). But I still like to have some things in mind just in case I ever decide to write for him. The main aspect of Yuma's characterization that I try not to slip up on is his amnesia! From what I've noticed, Yuma remembers what things are, but doesn't remember any experiences he has with those things. For example, he knows what detectives are, but he doesn't remember ever working as one, which extends over into all memories of the WDO. He knows what cooking is and remembers the basics of how to cook, but he can't remember any actual recipes that he's read, so he ends up making horrible food. In essence, it's like if a phone wasn't factory reset, but the photo album and downloaded apps were completely wiped, and only the basic apps automatically on the phone remain.
This next element isn't necessarily for Yuma specifically, but it's a very important part of his arc: don't forget Shinigami! She's here, she's there, she's everywhere! While she can turn invisible at will (as shown by chapter 0's aftermath), she's still chained to him throughout the entire game and loves to comment about almost everything going on around them. They tend to bicker in their shared thoughts, which is fun to capture when thinking about scenes for them. This is something that matters to me a lot since I'll be writing a lot of Shinigami for my Death Knight Yakou AU. I always want to keep in mind that Shinigami will most likely have something to say at anything that catches her eye, and whether Yuma (or Yakou in my case) ignores it, replies to it, or turns it into a full-on conversation depending on what's called for and if it'll add anything small to their characters or have some entertainment value.
Last but not least, Yuma isn't wholly innocent or exempt from indirectly killing culprits. Yuma actively decides to access the Mystery Labyrinths as a sort of self-defense mechanism. When he or his allies are at risk of being hurt or killed, he calls upon Shinigami, despite knowing that the culprits will be killed and that it won't ensure their safety. The only reason Yuma and his allies weren't killed in chapter 3 and 4 was because of good timing from others intervening. He may have killed in an act of self-defense and to better understand the conflict, but it doesn't mean he's clean of any blood on his hands, especially when he wanted to kill Icardi for the murder of Shachi. When he's angry, he's angry. He has shown that he can be enraged enough to want someone to die, so I like to have that stored in the back of my mind if ever I need to write for a wrathful Yuma that can and will choose violence if his back is to the wall and his allies are in danger.

Hey, can I make some requests (sorry if this is demanding).
Can you say something pro-trans so I can mark your blog as trans friendly on Shinigami eyes?
Can you recommend your followers download Shinigami eyes so that they can filter between pro-trans blogs and transphobe blogs at a glance?
Trans rights are human rights.
If you intentionally misgender trans people you're a jerk.
The campaign of anti-trans laws the Republicans are trying to pull is genocidal and they must be stopped.

while im here. for the love of god download shinigami eyes and sign this petition
i can no longer abide well meaning mutuals reblogging posts about feminism and hating men from users whose next post is "being a radfem/terf is the sexiest thing a wombyn can be 🤭🤭". download shinigami eyes, it's an extension for chrome and firefox that highlights pro-trans and anti-trans users across all platforms.
and also sign this petition to stop the royal australian and new zealand college of psychiatrists from platforming anti-trans speakers and the violently transphobic pseudoscience organisation SEGM.
thank you and goodnight, reblog this if you like

Hi I'm sorry if I'm bothering you idk where to go with this and i saw you post on anti t*rf cutting to the chase im a nonbinary afab person but during a spiral i got sucked down a t*rf rabbithole and some of the ideas are stuck in my head help me please i don't want to be one I don't know what to do
If you send me an Ask off anon, we can chat and I can message you if you want!
For now: Start reading books and blogs and watching videos by feminists who are explicitly pro-trans. Consume media made by trans feminists. Consume media that specifically counters the arguments made by terfs and radfems. Consume media by trans people in general, especially trans folks who openly state they are inclusive.
An excellent video series that rips apart TERFism from the inside out is here:
There are tons of awesome trans folks to follow on Tumblr.
There's my own transfeminism blog, @graytheory. There's also @transsexual-menace who has an excellent pinned post with resources. @queermasculine is a great blog about transmasculinity. @spacelazarwolf is just super cool and posts a lot about feminism and trans issues. @genderkoolaid is also fucking awesome.
Things to avoid: Any content by self-described "baeddels", "proud misandrists", "truscum", or content by people who call themselves "TIRFS". You want to avoid radical feminism in any form, because it is the root of TERFism and TERF ideology is based on radfem ideology. You also want to avoid any form of trans rhetoric that is exclusionary, claims there's only one right way to "be trans", etc.
I'd also say avoid anyone who claims trans men aren't oppressed, can't experience misogyny, or claims that trans men have "male privilege", because that's just watered down radical feminist with trans language slapped on top of it.
One thing that can help, if you use desktop, is downloading the extension Shinigami Eyes. Yes, it's controversial as hell, but when you're first getting out of radfem and terf circles, it'll help you identify terfs and radfems right away, and you'll be able to block them and unfollow them really quickly. I highly recommend it for anyone who's just learning to identify radfem rhetoric and anyone who is trying to avoid interacting with radfems and terfs entirely.

So You Wanna Switch to Firefox
So I’m just some random person on the internet, here on this hellsite we all have our unique love-hate relationships with. Up until a couple weeks ago (End of june, if I remember correctly) I used Safari as my browser, since I have a mac computer, and Safari is the default and I hate Chrome with a burning passion for many reasons (shady privacy policy and RAM consumption). I kept hearing good things about Firefox, but I eventually came across a post about Firefox rolling out a privacy feature that essentially isolates cookies to the sites that made them, preventing cross-site tracking, and I decided to make the switch.
But, I’m also a paranoid little shit and don’t trust random links on the internet from random people (like I am to you, O reader mine), so I did some looking. And now, here I am to make this lovely little masterpost on how to switch to Firefox and make the most out of it. Afraid of switching to Firefox because you already have an adblocker and don’t want to use a new browser you don’t have one for? I gotchu!
I’m going to show my work, step by step, for anyone else who is extra paranoid on the internet about links from strangers.
Step 1: Go to mozilla.org (www.mozilla.org). Mozilla is the company that makes Firefox, so they’re the people you’re looking for. Note that they use .org, not .com, so be sure you go to the .org. Here’s a screenshot of the page:
Tumblr media
note that I’m in the US, so just going to the website itself auto-redirected me to the US-English version of the site.
Step 2: Download Firefox from the website. See that tab at the top that says Firefox Browsers? Hover your cursor over that, and it should give you a menu like this one:
Tumblr media
Click Firefox for Desktop. It’ll bring you to this page.
Tumblr media
Click Download Firefox. Congratulations! You now have Firefox!
Now, here’s the fun part: Extensions!
The first thing to do is to open up Firefox for this step. Using your old browser to download extensions will give you a useless text file, but downloading it with Firefox will add the extension properly.
Any extension for Firefox can be found on Mozilla.org, specifically at addons.mozilla.org/firefox/extensions (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/extensions/). Again, it will redirect you based on your country/language. The extensions page looks like this:
Tumblr media
Now you can use the search bar in the top right to find whatever extensions you want! Personally, I use uBlock Origin (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ublock-origin/) for my adblocker. Here’s what its page looks like:
Tumblr media
Hate TERFs? Wanna keep yourself away from TERF shit? Shinigami Eyes (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/shinigami-eyes/) highlights users on certain platforms (like tumblr, youtube, twitter, etc.) based on whether they’re trans friendly (highlighted green by default) or not (red by default). Here’s its page:
Tumblr media
Now go forth and get Firefox! You have the power to do so!

If I recall correctly, when I downloaded Shinigami Eyes it said something to the effect of "you shouldn't flag someone as anti-trans unless you see actual, verifiable transphobia from them"
But when it comes to Christian people on Twitter, I've noticed that I can clock with like 99.9% accuracy whether a person is bigoted towards trans people just by seeing their stances on tangential issues like women's ordination (and the wording used to defend their stance)

Was making post about getting Shinigami Eyes to work on mobile, immediately reopenned Tumblr to find that the damned thing had shat the bed & is no longer working! Wow
Anyhow. If you have an Android, you can get Shinigami Eyes on Firefox. You should also download it in general, yea!
(For the uninitiated, it marks conservative & transphobic links/urls in red, allowing you to spot transphobes from a mile away. Worry no longer about rbing from those creeps, yea!)

oh ive been meaning to tell everyone about this but since its pride month:
i recently downloaded  and started using an app called ‘shinigami eyes’. it is basically an app that highlights trans friendly users and pages and websites with green, and anti-trans pages/users/websites in red. its been EXTREMELY helpful in helping me avoid transphobic rhetoric on the internet, sniff out stealth transphobes and terfs (and not so stealth ones), and can help mentally prepare me *before* i do engage with transphobic rhetoric for whatever reason, and has honestly, made my experience on the internet just a little bit better and less devastating coming across people who literally hate your existence every damn day.
but anyway if youre trans and you would like to navigate the internet with a little bit more awareness and safety you should download shinigami eyes.

Alex Exposed Timeline (Long Post Warning
I'm just gonna call it that. That's a good enough title. There has been a recent small influx of people just learning this information. Especially after a recent tag from @bess-turani-marvin (ty for the mention). I did realize that something like this might be helpful for people who missed out on some of the stuff that went down.
This is all off the top of my head, so if I miss anything or misremember something. Feel free to let me know
Under the thing, because I cannot, in good faith, post something this long without one.
TL;DR: Alex Saxon is a bad person and has been for a while. Not everyone wants to believe that, but others have accepted it. It's kind of a mess. A big helping of yikes all around
December 2021 - January 2022: I, Lachesis, downloaded the shinigami eyes filter after it was recommended to me. I was playing around with the random people I saw on social media (checking them out, checking out people they follow, checking random posts, what have you), and Alex Saxon happened to be one of them.
His follow list, simply, was a mess. Many of the typical, bigotted alt-right pipeline starter pack kind of jerks were there. As I was already telling Clotho (the other mod) about how I was playing with the extension, I ended up telling her about what I found with Alex. We made the decision to create this blog and compile the google doc.
At first, we got a few mixed responses. Some people believed this was a weak attempt to "cancel him," others were thankful but disappointed because of the information, and others just ignored us. Fine. Kind of expected.
The next couple of months: Kind of quiet. Occasional hate. Again kind of expected when revealing stuff about some people's favorite actor.
June: So early June is when shit really hit the fan. Apologies for cursing, but that is the most accurate descriptor. Alex liked a tweet from a known homophobe/transphobe that he had been following for quite some time. The tweet was a video from Ricky Gervais' "comedy" special. Specifically, it was just transphobic jokes.
Tumblr media
This is that tweet. The red is from the Shinigami Eyes filter, labeling Zuby and Ricky as known transphobes. Additionally, Aja's name is filled with TERF signals. The gender signs and the colors of the three hearts.
Alex forgot that likes are public and that his followers can see them. So when a few concerned former fans of his were on Twitter, they saw this on their timeline. Naturally, the ones who were either trans themselves or allies of the trans community were concerned. They reached out to Alex, expressing disappointment or confusion on why he would like this tweet. Many of them hoped that this was a mistake of some kind.
Instead of answering or reassurance that he has any support of his trans fans, he blocked them. He blocked anyone who called him out on this and said absolutely nothing. The only other thing he did was quietly remove his like from Zuby's tweet.
A lot of people were angry. Understandably. Some because they were upset that he would support a transphobic "joke" in any capacity and others were mad at trans people/allies for being mad at Alex. There was a lot of arguing, and people exposing their true colors.
I ended up being called to Twitter towards the end of the climax after being notified on here about what was happening. Just some of the things I saw
People being openly transphobic, as though Alex liking that tweet gave them the go-ahead to spew hate speech at any trans person they saw.
A self-proclaimed "bleeding heart liberal" who tried to play devil's advocate and actually spewed a lot of transphobic rhetoric while defending (but saying she wasn't defending) her favorite white man and telling trans people they were overreacting to a "joke" made at our expense
Some rant about cancel culture that had no point and wasn't actually relevant. Exposing the fact that anyone agreed to it, didn't actually know the difference between "cancel culture" and accountability
People pulling every excuse possible out of thin air. Such as "he was hacked" about a pattern of behavior he has been shown to routinely have over the course of 4/5 years.
People who claimed to be trans allies openly defend transphobic people and their rhetoric, claiming that it was a defense of Alex. Also continued to openly interact with said transphobes from bullet one.
Trans people who no longer felt safe in this fandom
Trans people who no longer felt safe to even watch the show or to ship nace/like Ace as a character
People condemning Alex for his behavior and explaining exactly why it is bad and harmful. Shout out to that one person who reminded me and others in the fandom that Alex once played a trans woman on a TV show, and now is supporting hate speech made against them. Putting profit over progress.
Also trying to explain that in following these people and liking their tweets he is supporting them, their ideas, and giving them a platform to spew their hatred.
Idiots who think that comedians framing bigotry as a joke isn't actually harmful. Calling what we do "Toxic PC bullshit." Failing to understand the difference between punching down and punching up. I've said it before and I'll say it again being a comedian doesn't give someone a free pass to make fun of the issues in marginalized communities
Other idiots who fail to understand that racism, transphobia, and other forms of bigotry aren't just someone wishing death/pain upon the minority they hate and enacting that wish for themselves.
Yes, that is the short version of some of the worst things that I saw. Also more or less, a summary of the things that happened.
We were also accused of causing his girlfriend to break up with him and delete any photo of him on Instagram. I guess they didn't think that we would check because we did and neither of those things is true.
Where we are now: Things are quiet. I think people have more or less chosen their side when it comes to this and stuck to them. I, and a few others, are not letting these issues be forgotten as though they were a typical fandom debate. It's more than that.
Additionally, from what I know, no one on the cast/crew/whatever has spoken up about this behavior. Such as active support of trans lives in a way that specifically is denouncing the hate speech that Alex is supporting. If anyone has done anything without a reference to Alex or his behavior, that's great.
Just for the record, I care more about spreading this information around than I do about getting him fired/replace/killed off. I do support people who do want that because they are valid for having those feelings. I don't have a horse to bet on for this. If any official action from the show is made in regards to this drama, it's their decision. Not mine. Not anyone else's.
Here is another link for the google doc for the people just coming into this situation through this post or others who just feel like looking at it.
TW for transphobia, racism, ableism, eugenics, sexism, antisemitism, and even some islamophobia.
As usual, I do encourage and support those who want to go to Alex's likes or follow list for themselves. There are a few people that are not on the google doc, but fit in with the people on there. I will give you an additional TW for domestic/spousal/child abuse from some of the people on there as well as sexual assault mention
Thank you for reading this far (if you have). Have a safe and wonderful evening
~Lachesis
