ya right now it's very Rustic Cabin Fixer Upper chic, but the dream for her is a sort of mix of cottage core, if the cottage started in a cozy kitchen and then opened up to a cathedral with great big high ceilings and a truly fuckoff amount of wood and light. little reading perches and nooks. i want to a library and put in a stained glass window. i am NOT normal about this

as a gen decor style I borrow a lot from midcentury modern because I imprinted like a baby duckling on my grandparents' midcentury house as a small child - once I found some old photos and found out I had somehow unerringly managed to get almost the EXACT same teak coffee table down to v small details. mostly though i am all about warmth in tone and textile, and partial to rich colours as accents, esp in the generic White Apartment starter situation. a not-small point of pride for me is I have painted multiple apartments and never had to repaint to white because the next tenants always asked to keep the colours because they loved them. my last apartment had a mural by my artist friend! i miss drywall sometimes
