Graphic Novel Sample Pages be upon Ye!
Have a peek at part of the pitch deck that @anonymousalchemist and I have been working on. The complete package is still in progress but will be queried out to agents (hopefully) later this month.
Right now, we need feedback! We've been scratching our heads for comparisons of existing media, so if there's anything recent or popular that this story reminds you of, feel free to shoot me an ask! (or just tell us if you like it :3)
Summary:
Emory Arrowgant thought he was safely dead. Then his psychopomp boyfriend, Isaac Yong, yanked him back to the land of the living. If only Isaac had been successful. Torn from the White City and stuck in the slipstream haze of the radio, Emory must help Isaac solve the mystery of his murder in order to be laid to rest. But Emory’s not the only thing that Isaac brought back.
All sorts of undead horrors have slipped through the crack in reality created by Isaac’s rituals. And Isaac is honor-bound to hunt them down--if the Glassfall police don’t put him away first. What they’ll soon learn, though, is that the botched necromancy, the monsters, and Emory’s murder are all connected. After all, Isaac wasn’t the only necromancer in town that night. And Emory isn’t the only ghost.
Draft of Transcript up to Page 10 (A lot of dialogue has changed over the course of making the pages. I haven't had time to edit, sorry. I will do so this weekend!)

lmao unfortunately I loved this but it was so painfully not about library. Have you read vita nostra? It has similar vibes as this but I’m curious if you’ll like it better
Also yeah it’s homestuck :T
I was genuinely getting into it in the last quarter because I dig the whole 'unpacking the aftermath of dramatic bullshit' routine but then we swerved into Father apologia and I'm mad about it. Although to be entirely fair just because Carolyn decided his behavior was reasonable does not mean readers should. More the opposite in fact.
I have not read Vita Nostra but I will put it on my list.

28 & 29!
28 (last meal on Earth) - oh man, depends on what I'm in the mood for, but probably something like really incredibly cheese-laden mac and cheese with a side of curly fries, a bottle of diet Coke, and super rich fudge for dessert. If it's my last meal I'm making it count, gastrointestinal distress be damned.
29 (preferred pasta noodle) - angel hair for sure! The thinner the better.

Ok so I finished BG3 yesterday..... Vague thoughts and spoilers beneath the cut
So like!! Act 1!!! Really well done and great!! Loved it!!
Act 2 was also good! It felt kinda lacking in some ways I think mostly because you can get a lot of really good cutscenes at camp in Act 1 and then it just kinda drops off drastically in Act 2, which was kinda sad but like it's a huge game so I understand. Dame Aylin and Isobel felt... Kinda. Bland. And like look I'm sorry ok. I'm a lesbian and they just... Didn't do it for me. I'm happy for all the people that enjoyed them! Their character designs are really neat! I think Aylin 100% should have been butcher though. Like she did not need to have long hair. And their storyline just felt really bland and like it had very little thought put into it. Like you have all these other really neat well written romances in the game and then you give the canon lesbian couple "it was love at first sight, I know that sounds sus but just trust me it was True Love at first sight" Like babe no wonder your dad didn't like her??? I could've written something more compelling than that at 14.
I really enjoyed what we got of Act 3! But it definitely... Felt rushed and incomplete. Like it was maybe half done. I knew Karlach's ending was gonna disappoint so I was already prepared for that. What I didn't realize was that like... Almost Every characters ending was gonna disappoint or just. Not Be There. Like wtf was that??? You spend over 100 hours playing this game investing in every companion character and their personal quest. And you just! Don't get much of anything after the final battle! A little scene on the dock where some of them talk to you some don't say basically anything and then Karlach dies or goes back to Avernus with Wyll, Astarion runs away because he starts burning in the sunlight and some other character makes a depressing comment about how that's probably the last you'll see of him??? Which??? Wtf???? You only get any closure on that if you romanced him. Which!!! WTF???? And then you get like short ending dialog with whoever you romanced and the credits roll. And the only thing post credits is a short scene of Withers mocking the dead 3. Like. No epilogue. No closure for the characters you spent so much time with. Nothing. You don't get anything with half of them unless you romanced them! Nothing with Shadowheart! You don't get to find out how things turned out for Gale with whatever choice he made regarding the crown! Nothing for Halsin, Jaheira, or Minsc! Like... Fuck man you don't even get to see the dog one last time or anything : ( or Yenna!
Like Karlach's whole everything felt really unfinished and kinda ridiculous because it sure seemed like there was so much there set up for you to be able to continue her quest line and fix her engine that the game/NPCs/companions/you just don't acknowledge which is frustrating.
But like over all I enjoyed the game, I had a lot of fun playing it! It just mostly felt unfinished and rushed in the end and so for a game as big as it was the actual ending felt incredibly lackluster which was disappointing. I still enjoyed the game and don't think I wasted my time playing it. But yeah. That's all

@kiwwles you sent me an ask about fics I recommend, and I was trying to save the answer as a draft and the whole ask disappeared 🥲 I don't know if it got deleted or if I answered it privately, but since it appears all traces of it are gone, I will try to recreate it here, because I worked on it for a while and I don't know why tumblr is like this
AnYwAy, I chose two fics per category, from four categories: DPxDC, DP only, Batman (+ DC), and Other. I focused on DP/DC because I figure if you like IYGABAB, you might want to read more from those fandoms.
Here are my recs:
DPxDC
Vacation Crashers by @impyssadobsessions
Batman crashes in the wilderness following up a lead in a recent case.
Meanwhile the Fenton family was having a camping trip to celebrate Jazz's last year as a "kid", but considering who suggested the location, it spelt disaster.
Now Danny and Jazz have to survive an onslaught of ghosts, take care of an injured Batman, and while worrying about their parents.
This was the first DPxDC crossover fic I ever read; I saw Impy_'s art from this fic and I just had to know more, and now I'm happily tumbling down the rabbit hole into the wonderland that is the Danny Phantom/Batman crossover verse. Vacation Crashers is the first in a series, which is the best news ever ^w^ 10/10 recommendation!
Bat Ghost by @megaerakles
Bruce is attacked by the ghost of Batman from the future. To get to the bottom of it, he pays a visit to some prominent ghost hunters, and happens to encounter a teenaged half-ghost vigilante (?), who just *happens* to resemble Damian. A lot.
On an unrelated note, Tim Drake has done nothing wrong.
I love fics where the Batfam goes to Amity Park. It's always a good time to watch them out of their element and adapt accordingly. This is a particularly enjoyable rendition, and it's still updating, too!
DP only
Exhumed by Marsalias
AU where Danny left behind half his physical body when he half-died. (AKA Corpse AU.)
Marsalias is one of my favorite DP writers, hands down. I really love the Exhumed series in particular, though; the world-building is excellent, the OCs are wonderful, and the writing is skillful.
Trust Your Instincts by @peachdoxie
A new kind of danger threatens Amity Park. With no other leads, Maddie Fenton turns to the one individual that might be able to help: Danny Phantom. Meanwhile, after a near death experience, she begins to question everything she knows about ghosts.
Excellent Maddie-centric fic where a near-death experience forces her to confront her own prejudices and misconceptions around ghosts, as well as the failings of her own scientific hubris. Currently on hiatus, but this fic was my obsession this past spring. Features cool OCs, interesting ecto-science, and lots of heartfelt/heartwrenching conversations.
Batman only
Loading and Aspect Ratio by Jube514
A world where nobody has wings, but people think they do, and that changes everything. (A Batfam Wingfic with a twist)
An excellent twist on the wingfic trope that really suits Batman. Features a Good Dad!Bruce who leans into the misconception that Batman is a cryptid because a)it's funny and b) it's convenient.
Take It Back Now, Y'all by Timthetoaster
(In which Tim finds himself in the past, and tries to do the right thing. It's more complicated than he'd like.)
Tim Drake being a bad-ass, accidental time travel, attempted fix-it. What's not to love?
Other
TAZ(Balance): All The Things You Prayed For by @anonymousalchemist and @marywhal
Taako is The Winter Soldier and Lup is Captain America AU
This is one of the best stories I've ever read, hands down. I've read it about four times *at least*. Even if you are not familiar with The Adventure Zone or The Winter Soldier (MCU), it's written so well that you can enjoy it without context.
TMA: The Magnus Institute vs the 21st Century: a series of emails and IMs by @shinyopals
What happens if the Magnus Institute gets a Data Protection Officer? What's it like to work in Tech Support? How are employee reviews conducted when your manager is Peter Lukas? This series does its best to answers these sorts of hard-hitting questions about office life at the Institute.
If you aren't familiar with The Magnus Archives it might be a bit hard to follow, but this epistolary fic has some of the best CSS coding and humor I've ever seen.
Anyway picking just a few was really difficult because I read a lot! I think every fic I've ever read has affected me in some way. But these are some of the ones most special to me. I hope you enjoy them!
