I don’t know about you but writing makes me happy even when it’s crappy though sometimes it’s hard to write that’s why I read y’all a lot... like a lot.
Billy had gotten a job as a salesman at the local car dealership. I’ve stopped by to bring him lunch on days I had fewer classes or canceled class. I talked to his coworkers while waiting for him to wrap up a deal and it apparently was something he really excelled at. “Babe! Did your professor cancel class again?” He asked as he trotted up to me and wrapped his arms around me. He extended his arm out to a couple standing near a display car, “I’ll be right there, just give me a minute with my girl before we see about getting you into one of these fine cars.”
“It’s Finals week remember? I don’t have any today so I brought you lunch and was hoping we could talk but I can wait till you get home.” I babbled kissing his cheek and handing him the sack lunch. He placed a hand gingerly on my cheek before giving a quick peck on the lips and handing me the bag back, “Go ahead and wait in my office, we’ll eat lunch together. I still have the lunch that you packed for me this morning as you always do on Mondays, Wednesday, and Fridays.” Tuesdays and Thursdays were my lighter days so I could bring him lunch by riding the bus over like I did today but today was Wednesday and I only had two more tests to do tomorrow.
“Right... I forgot.”
“Do you remember where my office is?” He asks rubbing my cheek with his thumb.
“Yes, I do.” I sigh and leaned up to kiss him before we parted. I sat in his chair with one of my books sitting out in front of me on the desk. I studied as I waited for him to return.
Billy’s POV
I watched (y/n) bounce off before turning to the couple that I had waiting for me. The older woman who was waiting seemed delighted when she says, “What a lovely girl, I didn’t see a ring though.”
“No ma’am you didn’t, working on it though. I have been saving up so I can get her the ring she deserves. I have my mothers old family ring but its band is too small and when I resize it I’d like to have some modifications done first. But enough with that what are we looking for today?”
Y/N POV
As I was enraptured with my studying when I was picked up and set back down on a familiar lap. I look up to see Billy give me a charming, but apologetic smile, “I’m just going to close this deal real quick then we will have lunch. I got Twizzlers in the desk drawer if you would like to snack on that while you wait.” He asked while he dug out said Twizzlers.
“Mmmm Yeees!” I sang happily.
He gave me the Twizzlers before proceeding to close the deal he was in for another thirty-five minutes. He only picked me up so he could properly shake their hands and walk them out.
“Now baby, you ready for some lunch?” He hummed as he shut his office door.
I quickly put away my books and snagged the two lunches I had originally made for him and set them out before us.
He sat across from me where I sat, in the client's chair while I sat in his usual chair. He took a bite out of his sandwich before he asked, “So what was it you wanted to talk about?”
“Christmas break... My mom said you could stay in the guest room.” I state eating my own sandwich.
“Oh? Does she know about you and I are living together?”
“No, but you did fall asleep after thanksgiving on the couch and you know how much my mom loves you.”
He shook his head, “No honey, she loves that I’m dating you not me.”
I sigh, “True enough but if you stay in the guest room you won’t be alone for the holidays.”
“Babe...I swear I’ll drive over for Christmas, I’ll even spend the night before I head back, but I have work and I... I’m going to move into my own place. No more mooching.” He says eating the rest of his sandwich.
“You’re not mooching, you pay for the heating bill and all the food.” I pouted.
“Come on babe, I’ll just be in a house near the dealership and you’ll see me plenty.” He chuckled leaning in to kiss my temple. “Now you can have your parents over without them red-flagging my stuff.”
“But I’ll miss snuggling with you at night. and My classload is going to be crazy.” We shared a chuckle but we quickly changed the subject.
My Dad ended coming over to surprise me and take me home and on Christmas Billy had come down to join us for Christmas family dinner.
We were all eating and joking around. Billy who sat beside me suddenly stood up. “(y/n) you are the smartest, and strongest woman I know. I know we’ve only been going steady for a short while, but you’ve made me so happy and I want to do the same for you for the rest of our lives. (y/full/n),” He got down onto one knee and then pulled out a familiar box... the box that held his mothers ring, though the ring inside looked different. “Will you make me the happiest man for the rest of my life so that I can hopefully do the same for you.”
Mother’s squeals could be heard from behind me, and the look on Billy’s face was one of pure love my voice seemed lost, so I simply leaned down and smashed my lips against his. He reached a hand up and into my hair to deepen the kiss before pulling apart to give me a soft smile, “Tell me that was a yes.”
“Yes.” I breathed before smashing my lips into his once again.
... After returning to school I ended up finding a sub-leaser so I could move in with Billy in the house he bought for us. We planned to marry in the following summer.
I am back in school now with extra coarsest trying to get through my degree faster. I plan on taking summer courses too.
I am super busy and only see Billy at night and some weekend days. Billy works a lot now trying to help pay for my coarse load. My parents are still paying but Billy wants to help ease the weight. I wish I could work to help too but I have always taken a big coarse load only now I am taking as many as they will allow. I am struggling to keep up but I really want to be graduated by the time we marry. Billy tells me he is fine with whatever I decide with school he will make it work but he shouldn’t have to work so hard to provide for me. I want to help... he is such a giver now and I just want to give back.
“Babe, come to bed you’ve been studying for hours. You need a good nights sleep before you take that test.” He called as he plopped under the covers of our shared bed.
“I can’t... I will in an hour I swear. It’s the last test I need to study for. I’ll turn off the light and go into the other room so you can get some sleep.” I hummed tiredly.
He yawned “No baby you will be fine just come to bed, you look exhausted. Please come snuggle with me it’s been a long day for both of us. This is the only time I get to see you please.”
I finally gave in and get into bed, “Goodnight Billy...I love you.”
“I love you too baby doll.” He mumbled as he fell asleep.
... it’s hard to be away studying all the time which is why I decided to truly take spring break for a break and spend it with Billy.
“Baby girl what do you want to do with today?” Billy asked giving me a hug from behind as I made us breakfast for the first time since before the semester really started.
I conformed myself into him enjoying the feeling of being wrapped up in his arms.
“I just want to be with you, my love. I just want you to know just how much I love you.”
“I love you too. But do you want to drive down to Indianapolis for a few days and play around a little, see a movie, check out some potential venues for the wedding while we are at it? We’ll get a hotel and maybe visit Dave who moved down to Indy after we graduated.”
Dave was friends with Billy when they were in school but he was someone I had avoided. But then again I had avoided Billy then too but here we are engaged. So I gave him a smile “Okay let’s do it then.” I turned in his arms and hug him leaning up for a passionate kiss.
“Awesome I’ll call Dave and ask for a recommendation for a hotel.” He called Dave I plated and set up the table.
I sat at the table waiting for him to return before eating and he returned “Great news! Dave said there’s a good place near his apparent and would be happy to help us shop venues tomorrow. Do you want to drive down now or tomorrow?”
“Uh how about we pack after we eat and then decide after that huh?” I chuckled.
...
The drive down to Indy was a little over an hour. Some of the time we spent singing along to the radio together, “Billy?”
“Hmm... love?” He glanced at me before returning his eyes on the road.
“So... what kind of place were you wanting to get married.”
“I don’t know where you want to get married.”
“Oh no I asked first and you were the one who brought up venue shopping.” I giggled.
He let out a sighed, “Somewhere near the water... I miss California... I’m not saying I want to go back, your family is here... But I’d like to be near the water on our big day.”
“Billy!” I gasped, “That’s so beautiful. Let’s look into that. We should check out some museums, and maybe the Indiana Central Canal. The Canal is supposed to be quite beautiful. There are some other places we can look at too.”
He smirked, “Your cute when you get excited.”
“Really? You think I’m cute?” I hummed happily.
“I asked YOU to marry me remember?” He playfully messed my hair up.
We arrived and checked into the hotel, “Ok, so the things to do today Dave has suggested a few things. There’s the Indiana Art museum with the 100 Acre Woods. There’s the Indiana Zoo. We can swim in the hotel pool. What kind of activity are we feeling like my love.” He hummed as he brought me into his arms swaying us back and forth.
“Hmm... I think it would be nice to go see some art and then see the woods. It would make a nice day.” I chime as I give him a squeeze.
“Alright let’s ask the front desk for directions and then head over.”
We spent the whole day walking around the halls and in the gardens. I was so beautiful. It made the wedding venue possibility list.
Tomorrow came around and though awkward it was okay at first. We went to see the canal which Billy seemed to agree that he would like getting married there, then to the memorials and ending at a lake and clubhouse that would be also a lovely place to marry. When we went to dinner, that’s where the problems started. I was coming back from the bathroom when I caught part of there conversation. “What do you mean the two of you haven’t fucked?” Dave scoffed.  “The only reason to be with a girl that looks like that is if she’s a really good lay.” Now let me explain, we’ve shared a bed but with Billy being so experienced and I with well nothing because he’s the only person I have been with... anyway I never approached the subject and he never pushed.
“Dave... Don’t be an ass. She’s my girl and she’s beautiful ... I know what I said in high school and... oh, hey baby uh... I hope you don’t mind but I ordered for you.” He rambled nervously.
I kissed his temple before sitting beside him, “Oh? What did you order?”
“(your favorite pop and food) that’s what you would have wanted right?” He asked giving me a quick peck.
“Yeah, that’s right. So... What do you think? We going to get married at the canal or we still looking tomorrow?” I asked kissing at his nose as if the extra display of affection would mark my territory.
“We can talk about that tonight. Okay?” He smiled again nervously.
Later at the hotel, I ducked into the bathroom saying that I needed a shower. I stood under the water thinking about what I heard. Was he unhappy with me not giving it up yet? Did he feel neglected of his needs and wants? Should I just come out him forthright? A candid conversation about what he needed and what he could wait for after marriage...
A soft knock came from the door followed by Billy’s soft voice “Princess? Are you alright? You’ve been in there for quite some time.”
I took a breath and answered, “Billy come in... we need to talk and I’m not ready to get out.”
He slowly and hesitantly opened the door and sat on the toilet. “Alright love what do you have on your mind?”
“Does it bother you that we haven’t had sex yet?” I stuttered out.
“So you did hear our conversation.”  Even with the water going I could hear his leg shaking.
“Yeah, I did,”
“Well... I don’t mind that we don’t have sex if you’re not ready... doesn’t mean I don’t still want to... I just take care of it on my own.”
“Billy... I love you so much. So, So much. But...”
“You’re not ready, and that’s alright... I’m alright with that.”
I stuck my head out, “Billy?”
“Yeah?” His eyes wandered over what skin wasn’t hidden by the blurred door.
“Tomorrow... let's just elope.” I reached for him and he moved so my palm could perch on his cheek and pull him in for a kiss.
When we pull away, he hummed, “You really do have great breast.”

Which type of robot gifts are best for your child?
Did you know we received the word robot from the Czech word “robotnik” meaning slave? The word is fitting for the machines we’ve asked to endlessly compute algorithms for us and clean our floors. But exactly what a robot is has evolved from the days when robots were largely factory drudges. These days, robots can be as cute as pets, as efficient as a nurse or frightening enough to raise ethical questions. There are telepresence robots that we can send to work for us, humanoid robots that send us chillingly into the uncanny valley and of course, beer serving robots who are our friends in our laziest times. Love them or fear them, we are a civilization obsessed with robots. So, I’m willing to bet you know more than one or two geeks in your life who would appreciate a robot themed gift this holiday season. Check out our epic list of ultimate robot gifts for the holidays: remote control car with night vision https://www.robotsden.com/best-remote-control-car-with-night-vision
1. Recycled Robot Ornaments
These little industrial ornament robots measure just 4-5″ tall and are completely eco-friendly, repurposed and up-cycled from salvaged, sawed and sanded lumbar scraps, scrap metal aluminum, recycled washers, nuts bolts, tacks, etc. The robots are spray-painted in red and speckled with cream paint. To preserve the industrial look, robots are partially painted with “dirty”-looking components, like nuts or washers.
2. My Robot Nation- Design Your Own Robot Collectible
My Robot Nation launched last week with an extremely cool way to model and 3D print your own robot collectible on the Web, with 9 billion possible combinations. Your robot is printed in full-color and it’s delivered to your doorstep. Check out the site’s limited edition holiday themes for your robot and the ability to send gift codes to others so they can design their own robot army at any time.
3. Romo: The Smartphone Robot
Romo is a smartphone robot, or a physical platform that turns your smartphone into a robot, developed by Romotive, a.k.a Peter Seid and Phu Nguyen. After a wildly successful Kickstarter campaign, the gents will be able to build their new robotics platform, which adds everything that the smartphone is missing like movement, accessories and the physical capabilities that a true robot needs.
“Unlike the lame single-purpose machines out there for sale today, our robots will also be able to learn, grow, and change, both by adding new hardware modules to the platform, and more importantly, by bring to people everywhere a true “app store” for robots, where robots can quickly gain functionalities based on the app they are running (and you can even code your own).” Do Robotic Pool Cleaners Really Work https://www.robotsden.com/do-robotic-pool-cleaners-really-work
4. Robot 99 iPad 2 Cover
This beautifully made leather case is specifically designed for the iPad 2 and includes a flip stand, built-in magnetic closure and a camera hole cutout on the back with full access to all iPad 2 ports/connections.
5. Parrot AR.Drone QuadriCopter
The AR.Drone remote-control quadricopter can be controlled from the palm of your hand. This robot is packed with smart technology including two cameras, front-facing and bottom-facing, which stream live video to the screen of your tablet or smartphone. The AR.Drone can also be used in video games, such as AR.FlyingAce, a dogfight between two AR.Drones. Or you can just take it to the park and bother local hipsters on a sunny day.
6. Sphero
While Sphero won’t ship til January 2012, this robo-present will be well worth the wait. Sphero is the first robotic ball that you control with a tilt, touch, or swing from your smartphone or tablet. Sphero comes with single and multi-player games that blend play into the virtual and real worlds. The company says, “It’s the ball evolved.”
7. Robot Tea Infuser
Who needs tea pots when you can have a tea-bot!? As a tea drinker with a robot obsession, this tea infuser had me at first sight. The retro robot comes with curving hinged arms that cling to the rim of your tea mug. To add tea, open up the bot by twisting its antennas. Once in hot water, the tea flavor flows through the perforations on both sides of its metal body. The robot tea infuser comes with a coordinating silver tray. Unfortunately, the clear mug doesn’t come with the infuser, so you’ll have to pick one up separately to show off your tea-bot. arduino robot arm source code https://www.robotsden.com/7-arduino-robotic-arm-project-ideas-tutorial-plus-source-code
8. Wind-Up Salt and Pepper Robots
“Oh excuse me, could you please pass the salt?” has never been more fun than with these robotic salt and pepper shakers. Just wind them up and point them in the right direction to impress your salivating guest.
8. Pleo Dinosaur Robot
Pleo, built by Emeryville, Calif.-based UGOBE, is a robotic replica of a one-week old Camarasaurus, a dinosaur from the late Jurassic period. The popular toy bot is the exact height of its pre-historic counterpart, learning and reacting to human touch. That strikingly lifelike behavior is the result of eight skin sensors, two microphones and an infrared and camera-based vision system. Pleo is cheaper than a puppy, doesn’t need to be walked, doesn’t trigger allergies and is more affectionate than the average cat. (N.B. Pleo does not like this upside down position.)
9. WowWee’s Femisapien
Femisapien is WowWee’s gynoid model, which comes with a dash of artificial intelligence that any woman can admire. At just 9″ tall, Femisapien moves more fluidly than her male counterpart Robosapien and responds to touch, light and sound. The fembot can be programmed to perform routines of movements up to 80 steps long including dancing, waving and blowing kisses. She introduces herself, performs comedy routines, even hands out business cards. Femisapien can also control other WowWee robots like Robosapien via her infrared sensors. Talk about technology liberating women. best robot toys for 10 year olds https://www.robotsden.com/best-robot-toys-for-10-year-old
10. Thing-O-Matic
MakerBot is a New York based startup that sells 3D printers, or “robots that make things”. The Makerbot has spawned a 3D printing revolution, dropping the price point on machines that cost tens of thousands of dollars to a paltry $750. Its newest product is the MakerBot “Thing-O-Matic,” which debuted at last year’s Maker Faire, is a 3D printer assembly line, printing item after item of thing after thing.
11. Bennett Robot Works
These industrial, handmade robots are made by local New York artist Gordon Bennett. Inspired by industrial designers Norman Bel Geddes and Raymond Loewy whose visions shaped the “Modern Age” of the 1940s and 1950s. Bennett’s robots are made from a variety of materials– some new and some found in junkyards. Each robot takes one month to build. These robots are quite serious works of art, not toys.
12. Rock Star Robot
This 4-foot tall Rock Star Robot is handmade from vintage picnic jugs, coffee thermoses, old vacuum cleaner tubes and other found objects. Like Bennett’s bots, this is no kids toy; the Rocking Robot, which doubles as an overgrown nightlight, is an artful study of mid-20th century American culture and design that will cost you more than what you’ve got on the floor of your front hall closet. Combining influences from rock ‘n’ roll, science fiction and the sleek “futuristic” design style of the era, artist Toby Fraley turns his own childhood love of robots into a unique work of art. are robotic pool cleaners worth it https://www.robotsden.com/do-robotic-pool-cleaners-really-work
13. Willow Garage’s PR2 Robot
One day, the roboticists at Willow Garage were thirsty, so they decided to teach their quick-learning PR2 robot a few tricks. When you want a beer, you just have to open a web interface, choose your preferred brew, and click the “Beer Me” button. The PR2 opens the refrigerator, scans its contents using image recognition software and retrieves a bottle of the correct kind, then brings it back to you. It can open the bottle as well. PR2 also knows how to fold laundry and play pool. Don’t want to buy a brand new robot? Check out eBay’s vintage offerings for robots from the past here. And if you know of any awesome robot themed gifts we missed, please let us know in the comments!

COMIC TEA PARTY- WEEK LONG BOOK CLUB START!
Hello and welcome everyone to Comic Tea Party’s Week Long Book Club~! This week we’ll be focusing on Lovespells by Ryan & Sage~! (http://lovespellscomic.com/)
You are free to read and comment about the comic all week at your own pace, so stop on by whenever it suits your schedule! Remember, though, that while we allow constructive criticism, our focus is to have fun and appreciate the comic. Below you will find four questions to get you started on the discussion. However, a new question will be posted and pinned everyday (between 12:01AM and 6AM PST), so keep checking back for more! You have until December 23rd to tell us all your wonderful thoughts! With that established, let’s get going on the reading and the chatting!
QUESTION 1. What has been your favorite scene in the comic so far? What specifically did you like about it?
QUESTION 2. At the moment, who is your favorite character? What about that character earns them this favor?
QUESTION 3. Do you believe that Esther will eventually confess her feelings to Maria? What do you think it will take for that to happen given Ether’s shyness about it?
QUESTION 4. Given some further hints, do you believe Maria’s own feelings towards Esther are changing? How do you think Maria would react to a confession from Esther? Would a confession ruin their friendship?
snuffysam
only at the end of chapter 4, but loving it so far! here's my current answers... 1. definitely the scene at the end of chapter 4 where Maria asks Esther for more lessons/to hang out as friends. We already know what Maria's there for ahead of time, and I eat dramatic irony like that for breakfast. Also, the reactions of Maria's friends who see Esther's obvious crush. 2. Hmmmm Maria. She's this super cheesy knight type, and that's me babey.
3. Yes, and it will be an accident.
4. Just from what I've seen so far, Maria's feelings towards Esther have changed. The relationship started out super professional from Maria's point of view (Esther is just helping her level up her magic. strictly teacher/student) but now she sees Esther as a friend. At this point... I don't think Maria would find a new tutor after the confession like Esther thinks, she's too professional for that. But it may put a dent in their friendship if the feelings aren't reciprocated.
decademic
omg, blitzed through it again because I love these slow burn lesbians and their wonderful relationship~ honestly couldn't ask for more! the art's amazing, the story is paced so well, the panels honestly are on par with paranatural levels of forethought and care, just ooo! I love them!!! onto the questions... 1: oh gosh, I can barely choose! the first meeting, when Maria shows up at Esther's house with her friends and they see how oblivious Maria is, the critical hit scene...throw a dart, I love it. 2: I'm gonna have to say Esther, she's so relatable by nature, and her actions are so pure intentioned. the love potion instead of elixer moment was such a cute nod, I got heart eyes and pledged my soul immediately. 3: I want Esther to start to confess, but Maria stops her and confesses instead! cue teary eyes and a first real kiss~ 4: Maria needs to identify this feeling as love; real love, before anything in the relationship can move forward at all. therefore, there has to be some realization on Maria's side sooner than later to make it work. Esther would probably chicken out halfway through the confession and confuse them both, which is why I'm gunning for Maria to do it~
RebelVampire
QUESTION 5. What do you think happened to Esther in the past that caused a healing spell to give her a permanent mana siphon? Do you believe Esther will reveal whatever happened to Maria? What might be the consequences of Esther telling her or keeping it secret?
decademic
gosh, good question...
so I guess 5: Esther hasn't been holding back, per se, about her affliction, she was upfront about it to the nurse, and has answered Maria's questions, so I don't think it's a 'secret', but more of a bit of backstory that may be a bit hard to relive. none of this answers the question of what the affliction is but I'm sure that'll be addressed, I'm sure of it
snuffysam
I don't think it's anything particularly sinister or mysterious, just, like... some uncommon disease. like magic polio.
though i suppose it either has to be something difficult to explain or something with a big stigma attached to it?
RebelVampire
QUESTION 6. Do you think we’ll see the paladin who scolded Maria at the tournament again? Why do you think he seemed particularly critical of Maria? What role might he have to play in Maria’s life (and Esther’s by association)?
RebelVampire
1) i really enjoyed the scene where maria was with her friends and referred to esther as lovely and all maria's friends are like O/////O. i enjoyed it not only for the significant character development maria is showing, but also the sheer comedy in how oblivious maria is to anything to do with love. 2) maria. i like her intense honesty that is balanced by her flawed obliviousness to a lot of the things around her. i think its a combination that makes her extremely endearing as a character. 3) i think the clock is ticking. esther is clearly terrible at hiding it and stuffing her feelings down. and i think one day maria is gonna be like "i love this thing" and esther is gonna be like "oh yeah i love that thing almost as much as i love you." like maybe not that exactly, but i dont think esther will overcome shyness. i think its gonna be a pure mortification accident moment cause esther will be lost in her own brain thoughts.
4) maria's feelings are definitely changing. no doubt about it. as for a reaction to esther's confession...honestly maria is so dense i wouldnt be surprised if she just could comprehend a love confession. gets told "i love you" and shes like "i love you too....youre a dear friend." once she realizes though, i kind of feel like shell...limbo turn down esther and tell esther shes not sure how she feels. then decide and couple will be created. as for ruining their friendship, eh, therell be tension maybe? not friendship ruining tho cause maria is just too nice for that. 5) I'm gonna assume that it was some sort of injury to be honest. cause esther did mention wanting to be an adventurer and i could see esther being overenthusiastic and trying something dangerous and winding up permanently injured because of it. or poisoned maybe. thats also an option. but regardless the curitive magic came with a price. i think esther will tell maria the full story someday, and i think it will bring her and maria closer. and consequently cause maria to get ultra defensive against those questioning esther's honor. 6) i do think we'll see that paladin again, and boy am i looking forward to it. i want to know more about him cause i think the dynamic hed have with maria would be awesome. i think as far as role goes, he might be the one to challenge how maria handles herself as a knight and her general love obliviousness. because maria's friends and esther all kind of either find it endearing, support her, or just accept that is part of her. whereas i think this paladin could be the one to ask her if she isnt hurting others by being so oblivious to love while constantly giving everything of herself. or something like that.
snuffysam
ok i'm caught up i'm not sure about the paladin. because yeah maria's friends aren't exactly helping move this relationship forward but... why would the paladin do any better? he just seems like a jerk to me.
maybe he shows up again and gives maria something extra to vent about to esther?
also, apparently his name is marcus? at least that's what the cast page seems to say, it's hard to tell without pictures lol
thisintermezzo
I co-write this comic and aklsjdkjhffjk it's so cool to see people actually seriously talk about it??? Thank you so much for this. We almost never get actual responses--which is pretty normal for most comics; feedback is just hard to get, haha--so this is super novel and hugely appreciated. If you want to ask me anything, please feel free. Otherwise, I'm just going to spectate here and there. (Also, now that I have Discord again, I can try to similarly contribute to chats about people's comics!!)
snuffysam
welcome! this is a really cute comic! if I may ask a question - what was originally on this page?: http://lovespellscomic.com/post/162477687227/hey-this-post-may-contain-adult-content-so-weve
it was after a bunch of guest comics so i'm guessing it was another guest comic? but tumblr deleted it so i have no idea
RebelVampire
QUESTION 7. Do you believe Esther’s magic tutelage of Maria will pay off at a critical juncture at some point? How might Esther’s own skills change due to contact with Maria? How might their changing relationship affect their professional lives?
thisintermezzo
I can't tell, haha. I actually don't know what the page before that is, even, since the "back" button is gone. Tumblr is lame and didn't notify us of any of the flagged posts, so I have no clue what else has gotten randomly deleted. :U Tapas would have it all, though.
Thanks for letting us know, though! o/
RebelVampire
QUESTION 8. Do you think Maria’s friends will play a role in Esther and Maria’s budding relationship? If so, what role will they play and how might their own relationships with Maria change?
(the archive for the chat on Psychteria is up! @CalimonGraal https://comicteaparty.com/post/181287718835/december-10th-december-16th-2018-ctp-archive)
RebelVampire
@snuffysam sometimes strangers are more helpful than friends in certain contexts. cause friends can come with a lot of biases. but eh it was just a thought
7) I def hope esther's magic tutelage pays off. Though not sure when since the tournament seemed like the most dangerous thing to happen so far. but if maria goes on a mission for sure shes gonna be pulling out that crit move esther taught her and save the day. albeit alternatively i could also seeing it going the opposite. wherein maria tries and fails hardcore. and then esther has to hug and comfort her and tell maria its okay. as for esther's skills, i actually think any change is gonna be less related to magic and more esther is gonna learn like how to express her feelings better or something. but this is something i dont forsee happening until they get together. 8) i dont think the friends are gonna help. rather, i think after maria and esther get together maybe that theyre gonna hurt the relationship in a way. in that theyll get jelly of maria spending more and more time with esther. cause while maria sees esther a lot, theres clearly more freetime maria has she could spend with esther instead of her friends. and i could see maria doing that cause as nice as maria is, shes extremely inexperienced in this area. so i think shed put esther first way too hardcore at first and the friends would have to say whoa there hold your horses. i think at the end itll strengthen their bonds though cause itd give maria a better understanding of some of the experiences her friends have maybe. idk. im spitballing.

QUESTION 9. If Esther and Maria do date, how do you believe that will go? What relationship obstacles might the two have to overcome in order to make their relationship work? How will the change affect the course of the story?
Delphina
Oh noooo, cute magical girl AND lawful good swordy girl having adorable crushes on each other. I might have to jump into this one.
1. My anime roots are showing, but I love a good "you don't have to refer to me with honorifics" scene. Also any time Maria carries sleepy Esther around is adorable.
2. Maria's hard not to like. I'm also a sucker for strong intense ladies who wanna do the right thing always.
I'm not so great with the speculation-type questions, but it's a great comic and I'm looking forward to what happens and hope that things go smoothly in both the romantic and magical arenas! The writing is very sweet and pure and the character designs and great environments complement them nicely. Really can tell there's a lot of love in this story!
RebelVampire
QUESTION 10. What are you most looking forward to in the comic? Also, do you have any final thoughts to share overall?
Delphina
I really enjoyed the part where Esther was explaining her sketches about adventuring to Maria. Esther has mostly been a reactive character - she gets orders and reacts, she's asked for help by Maria and she reacts, she sees some kids in trouble and she reacts, she gets low on MP and reacts. But that was the first time we saw what she wanted for herself, and how she views her role, and it really helped make her feel real and more proactive. I hope we see more of what Esther wants and who she is in the future!
RebelVampire
9) I think they'll have to deal with the usual relationship challenges. balancing work life, balancing other friendships, accepting that maybe they dont know each other as well as they think they might. but i think theyll manage. esther especially i think is gonna have to learn to be more open like how she was about her desire to be an adventurer. 10) I'm looking forward to seeing paladin returning and revealing why he's in this story in the first place and butting heads with maria. and then esther being "it's okay baby hes just a big ol' meanie"
snuffysam
i just really want to see more of the comic. it's super cute, the characters all lovable... i need more.

2017: A Reflection
Welcome!
Welcome to Rachel Pistachio’s new creation. Please leave a message and make sure to follow!
Okay, honestly? I’m really awkward when it comes to introductions and first impressions. So I guess, here it goes?
Fun Facts About Moi:
I like lists.
I am Greek-Mexican American.
I get called Rachel more than my actual name (Rebecca).
My last name is Cypriot Greek slang for Watermelon.
I’d like to think I am a combination of Audrey Hepburn and Selena Quintanilla (obviously the biggest delusion I have).
I can’t think of any other cool things about myself.
Phew, now that that's over…
Reflection
Man, I don’t even know how to begin this post. Currently, I am sitting on a worn-out faux white leather sofa in the dark. Well, not completely.
Tumblr media
Proof that indeed I am not in complete darkness
I can’t really tell if wanting to write this post is a result of wonderful family cheer or the fact that 2017 has been worth reminiscing. Nevertheless, here we are.
Memories of 2017
1. had a great seventeenth bday
Tumblr media
I celebrated seventeen years on this earth surrounded by people that make my life significantly better. There were also s’mores, frozen noses, good music, and delicious cake. (Peep Sage, a human being that makes my life pretty interesting)
**Also, please ignore my incredibly obvious farmer’s tan**
2. received my first B in high school (it was liberating btw)
Going through high school, especially the one I currently attend, involves competition amongst people you should really be calling your friends. Amidst my small class size and incredibly intelligent people, I always felt the pressure to make straight-A’s regardless of what I was or wasn’t learning. Attending that school has taught me all the wrong, toxic things.
Needless to say, junior year was probably the shittiest time of my life, but that is not why this made the list.
The second semester of my junior year involved sleep deprivation and a stupid amount of stress, and eventually I found myself passing out in my dual-credit Calculus II class during an exam. Pretty embarrassing to be honest. And yet, an extremely incredible experience that I dearly needed.
You see, although I did have an asshole math teacher, passing out in that class and getting a B gave me the reality check I needed. I needed to realize that good grades does not correlate to actual learning.
Also, news flash, I am an incredible human being whose value is actually not measured by straight-A’s when I have so many other things going for me. :)
3. flashmobbed w/ awesome gals
Tumblr media
My summer began with the inception of the Flamenco Youth Fundraising Council. To put it in a nutshell, we are all a group of gals that wanted to watch incredible dancers, so we blessed the city of Albuquerque by flashmobbing the streets and ultimately making $4k in two weeks. The day this picture was taken, we were downtown and a man offered us coffee on the house. We were also mural hopping and being extremely fierce (definitely not cute, fierce).
4.  attended the stanford hssc for the second time
I don’t even know how to begin this one. The eight weeks that this program offered me a home were the most amazing weeks of my entire summer (aside from the fact that it kind of was my entire summer).
Not only did I spend an invigoratingly independent time on campus, I stayed up late either finising my cs assignments, enjoying thought-provoking and hilarious conversation, or a combination of the two, and every bit was amazing.
Tumblr media
Peep the incredible people I was blessed to meet and spend my summer with. Not only were they witty, smart, and everything you could ask for in a person, they were also really hawt.
5. had my first kiss
I guess you can say that the summer program might have offered a bit more than academics?
In all honesty though, this was definitely one to cross off the bucket list. Although I’d been previously presented with the offer, my little naive self continued to refuse, expecting an epic story.
Well, epic is a pretty good description. Let’s just say I was beginning to grow impatient listening on the sidelines as my friends recounted their first kisses in exciting whispers. I knew my time would come, but when?
I never thought my time would involve an amazing summer with a relatable person who actually made me secure and comfortable. All I can say is thank god I waited for my epic moment and not some cheap shot who I could have settled for.
Also, thank god for roommates who can’t make curfew and large campuses where you won’t become embarrassed by a stranger’s familiar face.
6. rediscovered my actual obsession w/ poetry
Coming back from a great summer brought immediate depression and senioritis as I had to step into the real world of Rebecca-in-Albuquerque-with-grandiose-expectations. And then, it happened.
I discovered Button Poetry on YouTube.
For those who haven’t heard of this channel, Button Poetry publishes videos of slam poetry from various authors. Well, I happen to come across Sarah Kay and her marvelous poetry on love and the reality of life. All I can say is, click the link below to be blessed with words that will sing the best melody to your ears.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xHHzHu289Ws
7. performed at tedx
Tumblr media
The Youth Fundraising Council had been given the incredible opportunity to step on the TEDxABQ stage and fill it with passion and art. Plus, we were given VIP passes, so you already know that we spent all day getting our hair and makeup done, along with pocketing all the expensive snacks and pretending we were indeed professional like all the other middle-aged accomplished humans we shared the stage with.
**Shoutout to our founder Caro (pictured in sunglasses) for literally being my type of human**
8. became an apprentice for the professional company
Since I began dancing flamenco at the age of five, my friends and I had this amazing hope and dream that we would one day be sharing the stage with our teachers and mentors. Well, this semester, I was given the opportunity to partake in the company’s rehearsals with guest artists and surrounded by motivated and incredibly hardworking people every day. With the 20 hours a week I danced this semester, I have to say it was all worth it.
Let’s just say I learned a lot more than dance technique. I learned how to be extremely confident in myself and my abilities. I learned to be my harshest critic, and my best teacher.
Although I may not end up in the actual company, this lifelong dream of mine is the best news to receive during my final year in Albuquerque.
9. danced with actual legends
Tumblr media
Okay, just seeing this picture gives me chills. When I tell you that the people I shared the stage with that night are legends, I truly mean it. I mean I’ve been watching Tacha (third from left) and Loreto (fourth from left) on YouTube for a really long time, and suddenly I am studying and performing with them. It was amazing, and without this picture, I wouldn’t believe the words I am currently typing.
10. danced at my last greek fest
Tumblr media
Newsflash: For me, being multicultural means having the craziest clubs and hobbies. Aside from dancing flamenco for thirteen years, I have also been Greek dancing with some of the peeps depicted above.
Although I am the only senior girl in the group, these guys have toughed it out with me all twelve years, occasionally cussing each other and others out in Greek (eimaste malakes).
11. spent thanksgiving w/ the greatest peeps
Tumblr media
Now back to the Mexican side of the family.
The arrival of Thanksgiving week also brought the arrival of my mom’s family in a white van coming from South Texas. For the entire week, our house went from hardwood floors to air mattresses. Meals varied from tamales to meat to (surprise!!) turkey.
We also may or may not have blasted music from Grupo Celedón’s track, which was the family band my grandfather had started that consisted of my mom and her siblings traveling the country to make ends meet by playing awesome original music. Enjoy the shameless plug below:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mnHJb2qmtZM (my mother is not in this recording; she’d dipped to UT Austin by then)
12. got accepted into actual college
To be honest, this is probably the one that brings me the most relief. I, Rebecca Watermelon, have been accepted to two universities. I believe that does mean that I will be, ahem, going to college.
I am so excited. The opportunity to leave New Mexico (the land of enchantment) for the independence and fresh start I felt at the summer program is so cool. However, I now have no motivation to complete any other college applications, or, for that matter, complete my senior year of high school.
13. performed in my last recital
Tumblr media
Dancing has always been a part of my life, and every December brings the Recital Navideño, in which all the students and dancers from the National Institute of Flamenco share a weekend of what we’ve been working on.
Well, this December is officially the last recital that I will ever partake in, and it was extremely sad but also a bit liberating. It is a quite literal marker that marks the end of an (epic) era, but also the start of a great beginning. Plus, who’s to say I will stop dancing? ;)
14. held my grandfather’s hand for the first time in two years
This is huge for me. About four years ago, my grandfather had a stroke. As a wee little eighth grader, I felt incredibly hopeless and frustrated that I couldn’t do anything. And then when I came to visit him for the first time, I realized the true extent of it. My grandfather, a man who was considered an accordion legend in The Valley, could no longer move the right side of his body.
And yet, I still had one thing. I could hold his hand.
Although he could not speak to me, he could look me in the eyes and hold my hand. This small act to many has instilled a sense of hope and love that I did not completely appreciate before the horrible moment.
Being that I was gone every break either studying or traveling somewhere else, coming here this Christmas made me realize that I hadn’t held his hand in two years. And when I did, I felt grounded. I feel grateful. After all, holding hands is such a loving form of communication.
15. realized my life motto(s)
Last but not least. Since starting this post, it has been about half a day of procrastination, watching Friends, and being quite a couch potato. It is currently two in the a.m. on Christmas Day, and I am reminiscing on the beautiful year that was (and still is) 2017. I see now that this year has allowed me to grow into myself, and learn the best lessons before embarking on the next chapter that is college. This semester involved two phrases that I constantly repeated to myself as I tried not to actually panic about the future:
Whatever happens, happens
Find happiness in oblivion
I’ve found that these simple words have truly calmed me, and therefore I am dedicating this blog to being ok with not knowing the future, and being happy with the fact that all I know is that I know nothing.
Thank you for reading this incredibly long story that is my life. Here’s to many more reflections and memories. :)
