Sumire didn’t get pulled to the First like the Warrior of Light and many of the Scions did, but she helped Krile and Tataru take care of those whose bodies were left behind. Whenever she had a chance she would climb the ramparts in Revenant’s Toll and stare out at the stars, wondering if her friends were on one of the ones she could see, and praying for their safe return.

Personal gripe but I really wish people wouldn’t do Au Ra April when 2 years ago we started AuraAugust purposely so it wouldn’t overlap any other race’s month. Now people insist on doing both and it just seems a bit selfish that Au Ra should get 2 months. and for the record I’m pretty sure Au Ra April didn’t start until after the first AurAugust.

AuRaAugust Day17: Warrior

Not gonna lie I struggled with this one.

“Warrior of light. More like a ruthless warrior of gambling,” Thancred mused, watching as the youngest son of the Fortemps family placed a card on the table in a desperate attempt to save himself.

“And that's another win.” Mizuki laughed, laying down her last card and turning two of Emmanellain’s and then another two. “You were so close.”

Thancred joined in her laughter and patted the Elezen’s shoulder “she jests...you lined them up for her.” He watched Mizuki collect her cards again. “How much have you lost now?”

“Thancred! How rude! I would never collect money from my family.” Mizuki gasped in horror “you however is a different matter. So take your seat.” Emmanellain rose from his chair reluctantly and hovered by Thancred’s shoulder. “If you’re looking for tips, you won’t get them from Thancred, he’s never won either.” Mizuki bolstered, reaching into her jacket pocket to fetch another card, one in a protective case.

“Changing cards? How unfair of you.” Thancred huffed playfully letting his shoulders slump “a warrior until the end?”

“It’s just cards…” Mizuki laughed, unclipping the case to take one of the two cards from within and switching it out with another card from the deck. “You make it sound like I fleeced you out of every gil in your pocket.” she teased.

“Is that Ser Aymeric’s card?” Emmanellain interrupted, noticing the picture on the top of the card. “You have two?”

Mizuki looked down at her dear Aymeric’s beautifully painted face “well yes….one for best and one for use.”

“I wasn’t aware you felt that strongly about me.” a smooth voice came from beside her. Mizuki jolted away from the sudden voice and fell off her chair majestically with a thud.

“By the twelve!” she glanced up to see Aymeric leaning down with a playful smile on his lips. “Aymeric...I..This is-” she hid the card back into her jacket as she scrambled to sit back at the table. “...just a card-” she mumbled.

“It’s not just a card,” Thancred added coyly, “you should see the wind-up Ay-ARGH!” Thancred was uncermonacy kicked out of his chair.

“Oh, Thancred you seem to have fallen out of your chair. How clumsy.” Mizuki said with a forced smile. “What brings you here?” she looking back up at Aymeric with a softer smile.

“Count Edmont inviting me over to dinner, did he not inform you?” he questioned, tilting his head to the side. It was then Mizuki noticed he was out of his armour and in his thick padded housecoat. She blushed, so that’s what father meant when he said we had a quest coming… Aymeric chuckled, kissing the top of her head. “Also- I know about the little wind-up.” he said, not missing a beat and watching Mizuki’s face flood with a brilliant crimson. “I saw it marching down the hall trying to get into the study most likely to find where the little wind-up warrior of light was.” Mizuki tensed at his words and struggled to articulate her words.

“I..you...You have a what now?” Mizuki choked out,

Aymeric brought his hand to his lips to hide his boyish smile “how could I resist it? They brought one straight to me when they were made. It is rather cute. Though-” he leant in to plant a kiss to her forehead “not as cute as the real warrior.” Mizuki jerked away and tried to hide her own silly smile. “They both like to sit on the chair in the study.”

“Well this is so overly sweet I think my teeth have fallen out.” Thancred teased loudly, interrupting the moment only to get ousted from his chair once more. “Warrior of lovesickness apparently.” he groaned.
