"Do you think about me now? yeah"

Summary: You have liked Lo’ak for a while but he’s only had eyes for her, Tsireya, the girl who caught his since you and his family came to Metkayina.

A/N: This is all over the place and I hate it I will rewrite this when I’m out of school

You’re his best friend and he never wanted to hurt you. But watching your face grow more and more with despair, it was pretty obvious that there was only one way to say this. He cares for you and he does love you but not in the way it counts or matters.

You’re speechless, and you keep trying to find the right words to make this less awkward. But every time you go to open your mouth to speak, sobs threaten to spill and you just close your mouth again, finding it much easier to keep quiet. You want to run and you’re considering it. But running away won’t fix things, not when the group of boys is staring at you. How could you have ever think you could compete with someone who shines perfectly in the spotlight?

Deciding you don’t want to embarrass yourself anymore you walk away from the group of boys holding back tears of embarrassment. Lo’ak wanted to run after you but he knew if he did it wouldn’t make anything better so he decided to go home and hope Tsireya would take his mind off things.

Rai’uk, however, followed after you hoping he could lift your mood, you had caught his eye the day you came to Metkayina, and hoped to get closer to you but you had your eyes elsewhere. He tired everything to take your mind of the youngest sully who never paid you any attention but you were blinded by his charms.

Rai’uk found you with your feet lazily moving in the water as your Ilu laid by them and enjoyed you rubbing its head, hearing someone behind you, you quickly grabbed your knife and held it against the boy's neck before realizing who it was and backed away from his scared form.

“Are you here to laugh at me or something?” You looked back into the water as the boy sat beside you. “No, I came to make sure you were okay..” Finally looking up you saw the boy staring at you with a look between admiration and love, you’d never gotten that look from Lo’ak and if you’re being honest you really liked it and you liked how Rai’uk was there for you he had always been there for you and you appreciated that. If only you knew this was him hinting at his feelings for you.

As the night went on Rai’uk did whatever he could to make you feel better and eventually, he walked you back to the Sully’s Marui where Jake was impatiently waiting for your return seeing as he pulled you inside thanking Rai’uk for bringing you back home in one piece.

Over the next few weeks, you hung out with Rai’uk and his friends trying to avoid Lo’ak but it was no use since you lived with each other. Your feelings for the Sully boy were fading away and you were glad because Rai’uk had finally grown balls and confessed to you, you didn’t accept right away since you were still hurt and had feelings for the OmatikayaN boy but as the weeks progressed you slowly started to pay more attention to the Metkayina boy with the goofy smile and comforting laugh. He treated you like a princess and made you feel safe and wanted.

You and Lo’ak have talked things out and decided that you both loved each other in a platonic way which you could finally accept since you had started hanging out with Rai’uk more which Aonung happily teased the both of you for. He was glad you weren’t pining over him anymore because he hated the thought of you being hurt because of him. As of now he watched you and said boy dance with giant smiles on your faces, only looking into each other's eyes as if you were talking telepathically.
