Ok I know I haven't posted about it ever on here but can I just say what Scar said to Cleo as he killed them in Secret Life has really stuck with me.

"Goodbye Mom! This is for telling Bdubs I'm your favorite!"

The fact he said something so cold in his same-as-usual warm and happy voice. The fact that Cleo was silent to him cause she was muted. It was dark and cramped and, quite frankly, merciless. Scar didn't relent. He didn't hold back for a second. It just really stood out to me in such an intense final episode.

Scar claimed he had no friends this season but you know what I think? He did. He had friends. They just only really were by him at the end. Pearl, his good neighbor. Scott, the one that he had to turn on.

And Bdubs. His brother.

I love the choices in baldurs gate I love that there's not a "default good" and "default evil" path I love not knowing who to trust I love being tempted from all directions I love characters who are complex and want to do immense good while also being given the opportunity to feed their darkest impulses I love watching characters struggle and having the agency to struggle alongside them like it's all so goddamn refreshing
