Warning: this fic is VERY gorey, horrific, all that jazz so read at your own risk! It also has spoilers for the ending of Demon Slayer.

This is an au of the Milo Kocho au btw

As Muzan is restrained outside and starts to burn up, Milo is begging and pleading Basil inside to turn back. Her eyes are filled with tears and she has scratches and cuts and bruises all over her body, but she is determined to save him.

Kanao arrives with a fourth syringe, and quickly inserts it into Basil before leaving to hrlo with other slayers. He falls down for a minute as Milo panics.

"Mi-o?"

Basil wakes up and looks at her, his eyes and hair slowly turning back to normal.

"Basil!!"

The area is spinning, blurry, and the colors are inverted.

"Wh...at? Wh-is ha-ing?"

Basil's voice cuts out and skips letters.

"W-voice-at?"

Basil starts to panic, as he realizes that he can't move his arms either

Both of their faces turn confused.

"Basil, wha...what's happening to your voice?"

"I-d-now..?"

Basil shifts to sit up, but their arms dont move, like they are sown into the ground. They try to close their eyes, but they sting and stay in place.

Milo holds his arms in an attempt to heal him, but instead her hands come back bruised.

The scab on Basil's forehead from where he was turned to a demon, starts opening up. Milo only realizes when a glistening streak of white starts running down basil's face.

"B-asil... your scars..."

As he glanced around, he noticed all his scars and bruises had been reopening.

Milo starts crying, she looks into Basil's eyes, which were also crying, and hugged him.

"I-an't m-ve"

Suddenly, Basil's left eye grows black, and the blood from his forehead turns red, then white, then red again. He stares forward, not moving, nor breathing

He stays like that for a minute, while milo pulls back and watches him.

With a large gasp, he comes back to life suddenly. His head is thrown back as his eyes turn fully black. His arms and legs contract, and then his whole body relaxes and he falls back asleep.

"Milo, what's happening to basil...?" Kanao had come back over to basil and milo after hearing the panic.

"I-I don't know! His body's doing weird things!" When she looked over, she noticed basil's left arm separate from its forearm and blood covering the area. She looked over to his right arm, which was deteriorating in the same place it had previously been lost, pooling with red and white blood.

Basil wakes back up, looks down, and cries harder than he had previously. He moves his hand to ease a sudden pain in his jaw, but can't reach without his arm.

Temporarily, basil's skin becomes more vibrant and colored, like Milo's. All his pain ceases, but the bleeding does not stop. They look at milo, and smile.

"Mallow, I love you..."

Their whole body falls.

Their hair turns brown, black, white, and every pastel it used to be, flickers.

Their skin pulses and bruises and turns pale.

Their eyes flicker black and white.

Milo hugs him, as tight as she can, her tears running into Basil's changing hair.

Basils body freezes, their pulse ceasing.

"I love you too."

Milo falls onto him, and succumbs to her injuries, the two lovers dying in eachother's arms.

A/N wow! First fic and it's killing off my and @larz-barz ocs! I seriously didn't know I could write something like this, and I did it all in one sitting. Hope I didn't cross any lines of gore because it's VERY gorey but I've posted it now so 🤷

Basil and Milo are at the library studying right now.

He’s helping her with some math she didn’t really understand very well and Sanemi just yelled at her for not understanding.

“Did that help? Do you get it now?” Basil asked softly, he’s gently rubbing his thumb over Milo’s knuckles.

She nods and smiles softly at him. “Yes, thank you Basil.”

He nods and leans over to press a gentle kiss to her temple.

“Of course my love..” He said softly.

“Do you wanna look at the books?” Milo asks with a smile.

Basil smiles and happily goes with Milo to look at the books.

Milo finds something in the manga section, Demon Slayer.

“Hey love! That looks like Tanjiro doesn’t it?” She shows him the cover and he gently takes the book to get a better look.

“It does! That’s really weird not gonna lie.” He flips through the book and finds a girl that looks like Milo.

Basil’s eyes widen and he shows the character to Milo. “And this character looks like you!”

Milo gasps softly. “This is weird..! Do you think there’s one that looks like you..?” She curiously flips through the pages and finds one that looks like Basil.

She quickly shows it to him and his eyes narrow curiously.

“This is so weird.”

“Agreed..”

Milo’s eyes fluttered open, the last thing she remembered before blacking out was Basil attacking her.

~Flashback~

“It’s all your fault this happened to me, don’t you see that?!” The words spewed from Basil’s mouth like a waterfall.

“B-Basil you can’t really mean that..!” She cried out as she tried to restrain him.

“I do and I know for a fact you know I’m right!!” He yelled and escaped her tight grip.

Basil tried to cut Milo’s right arm off but she fell back, crying and trembling fearfully as the gash on her arm bled heavily.

“I hate you!!!” He yelled angrily.

~End of flashback~

Basil had already been crying but as soon as he saw Milo had woken up he began crying harder.

He rushed to hug the girl he loved so much but..

“P-please don’t h-hurt me!!” She cried out fearfully and Basil’s eyes widen in terror.

“M-Milo….. I-I would never! I-I’m a human again! S-see?” He frantically tried to reassure her and even ran to the window and held his arm up to it to demonstrate that he won’t burn.

“My love, please trust me.. Please don’t be scared of me.. I-.. I would never ever hurt you on purpose..” He spoke softly as tears ran down his face.

She relaxed when she saw he wasn’t going to hurt her.

Milo jumped out of the bed and hugged Basil tightly. “I-I’m s-sorry.!!”

“Princess, you have nothing to be sorry for.. You’ve done nothing wrong.. I’m the one who should be apologizing.” Basil muttered softly as he gently but tightly held Milo in his arms.

The young couple just spent the next hour or so crying in each other’s arms and they eventually fell asleep together.

Basil always keeps his arm around Milo cause it calms her down when she’s nervous.

They make eye contact on accident all the time cause they love each other’s eyes. When they realize, they get super blushy

They LOVE to play with each other’s hair

Basil has really soft hair so Milo is usually gently brushing her fingers through it or braiding it

Basil makes a lot of flower crowns for Milo and she keeps every single one

Milo usually comes back from missions with an assortment of flowers she thinks Basil will like and leaves them in his estate

Basil loves to show Milo how she deserves to be treated by others as she was mistreated for a good portion of her life (not by her parents, by other ppl including her uncle)

Milo has nightmares fairly often and Basil is always there to comfort her.

Basil is the reason Milo started feeling emotions again and he helped her when she was overwhelmed by the amount of strong emotions she felt

Basil thinks Milo is adorable and he wants to pet her so bad but he doesn’t know if she’d be alright with that so he refrains until she states otherwise

When he finds out Milo actually loves being pet and sees it as a source of comfort, he does it all the time cause he loves seeing Milo happy

THEY HUG A LOTTTT

When they eventually have their first kiss it’s really awkward and quick at first then they kiss again and it’s more natural

did that make sense-? idk

They say I love you a lot. Like, they don’t overdo it but they make sure their partner knows that they love them

Have I mentioned how protective Basil is of Milo? I don’t think so-

Basil is mega super ultra protective of Milo, especially after finding out about her uncle

Milo is also really protective of Basil of course, she was extremely worried the whole time he was gone fighting Akaza

They’re terrified of losing each other

Basil bby this is the Hashira Milo au, I’m sorry but she’s gonna die with Mui😭

Basil and Milo both dyed part of their hair to match each other

Basil buys Milo lots of gifts after finding out about how her uncle would destroy her stuff

My cat just scared the crap out of me

They have really cute nicknames for each other

Basil calls Milo things like princess, baby, sweetheart, love, and angel

He just seems like the type that would have classic pet names for his partner

Milo calls Basil things like baby, love, my star, my life, and the universe (or my universe)

If Milo were to ever tell Basil that she can hold the universe in her hands then pick him up he’d get so flustered and so would she

They fight really well together in battle, but because of how they are, they never get paired in missions

They sing together a lot

They spent a lot of time pining before actually getting together

It was very obvious they loved each though

Considering not having hashira au Milo die in this version of it cause they deserve happiness

Not saying she doesn’t in the regular hashira Milo au, cause she definitely does but like, Basil and Haia don’t meet in the purple streak au soo- yall get what i’m saying?

“Hi Miss Yuna!” Basil says cheerfully as he walks into Yuna’s and Milo’s house.

“Hey Basil! How are you?” Yuna asks happily, she notices the bag in his hand. “Whatcha got there?” She asks curiously and he smiles.

“I wanted to surprise Milo with something, shhh..” He whispered and Yuna winked.

Milo comes out of her room and smiles brightly when she sees her beloved partner. “Basil!” She happily hugs him tightly and he returns the hug without hesitation.

She buries her face into his chest. “Have you had a good day princess?” He asks softly and gently scratches behind her soft, fluffy ears.

Her smile faltered and she looked down at the floor sadly.

Basil frowned and gently tilted her head up to look at him. “What happened?” She saw the protective glint in his beautiful eyes shine brighter.

“B-bullies..” She said softly and was immediately engulfed in Basil’s warm and comforting embrace.

“I promise I’ll take care of them tomorrow at school.. here.. I have a surprise for you!” He pulled away and gently wiped a tear from her sparkling purple eyes.

He gently places the bag he was holding on the countertop then takes the box out.

It’s a gingerbread house kit! He remembered Milo saying that she’s never gotten to do one before cause of her uncle so he immediately bought one for them to do together the first chance he got.

Milo’s excited smile immediately gave him butterflies. “Thank you!!” She exclaimed happily and hugged him tightly.

“Of course, my love. Anything to see that pretty smile of yours.” He says immediately making her blush.

She hides her face in his chest making him chuckle and blush.

“Ok, let’s get started!” She says happily and her tail is swaying excitedly.

Basil and Milo unpack the box and look over all the stuff.

Gingerbread walls and roof, the frosting, and various types of candy.

Basil guides Milo through the process of putting the house together. He wants to let Milo experience the fun of everything since it’s her first time.

“Alright, now we need to let the icing set up before we can get to decorating! You did great princess.” He wraps his human arm around her waist and presses a soft kiss to her temple and she blushes.

“O-o-ok..” She says shyly, looking away from Basil.

The frosting finishes drying so they begin the fun part. Decorating.

“Don’t eat all the candy ok?” Basil says then looks over at Milo to see that’s she has at least 5 gum drops in her mouth.

He stares at her silently and her eyes are wide as she stops chewing.

She swallows them and stays silent for a moment. “…Whoops… Sorry..” He chuckles softly.

“It’s alright princess, just don’t eat any more until we get it decorated so we’ll have enough.” He says with a smile and she nods with a soft giggle.

They happily decorate the gingerbread house.

Basil continuously has to keep an eye on Milo to keep her from eating more candy.

“I’m gonna have to tape your hands together, aren’t I?” He asks jokingly and Milo giggles.

When they finish, Basil lets Milo go to town on eating everything.

He eats the house along with her and they also invite Yuna to join them which she happily accepts.

“Well, princess? Did you enjoy making your first gingerbread house?” He asks with a soft smile and she nods happily.

“Yes! I had so much fun, thank you so much!” She hugs him tightly and he smiles and hugs her back without hesitation.

“Of course my love, I’m glad you had such a good time!” He gently cups her face and kisses her forehead then both cheeks.

Basil and Milo fought alongside each other up until…

“BASIL!!!” Milo shrieked tearfully.

Basil’s breathing is heavy, his white hair quickly faded to black, covering the part he had dyed purple in honor of Milo.

All the demon slayers present watched in horror as Basil transformed into the very thing they swore to fight against.

Basil ripped both of his prosthetics off and threw them to the ground and his human arms returned.

He began attacking the demon slayers, he’s very strong.

Milo launched herself at him and tried to restrain him.

He turned around roughly in Milo’s arms and pinned her to the ground.

“B-Basil.. please..” She cried as she tried to get through to him.

“This is all your fault Milo!!” He yelled angrily at her, her ears flatten.

He started to twist and squeeze her right arm, digging his claws into her skin.

She winced, large tears fell from her wide, scared eyes.

He saw Rengoku running to them and shoved Milo aside.

Basil fought the flame hashira mercilessly.

Milo tries to get him away but he’s much faster and stronger than her.

He grabs Rengoku by the neck and snaps it.

Milo finally restrains Basil, forcing her sheathed katana in between his jaws, holding him back.

When the battle is over Basil cries next to Rengoku’s lifeless body.

“B-Basil.. I-It’s-“

“Yes it is!!! It is my fault!!!” He cries out, cutting her off.

Milo passes out moments later, going into a coma for a month.

“M-Milo!!!” Basil cried out and gently pulled her into his arms.

“I-I-I’m so sorry…” He holds her close and cries over her unconscious body.
