The anniversary of his creation? Mayuri is excited that yet another year has passed. "Yon! I have a gift for you. To celebrate!" Mayuri hands him a memory stick. "It contains all the data regarding your creation. Isn't that interesting??" It's about time Yon got to learn all the 'secrets' about how he came to exist.

--- Oh..? His captain has remembered? Well, really it is not that surprising. Yon is just another project to keep tabs on, after all, even if his expiration date has passed. He sometimes wonders how much Kurotsuchi-sama still records about him. When he was younger there had been regular check-ups. Very regular, in fact. Now, he underwent a physical once every year, just like everyone else.

Remembered is one thing, but to come bearing gifts, as well? Yon blinked at his captain curiously, unable to immediately discern anything. The gift must not be physically big, then.

Yon didn't care for his birthday. Or gifts. The passing of time made him nervous. But, coming from his captain, of course he had to accept!. And what a gift it was. When it was revealed to be a memory stick of data, Yon's eyes grew even wider. He couldn't tell whether he was happy, though.. Was it a nice thing to receive? Information about yourself? He could argue yes, simply by virtue of information being infinitely valuable. But.. What if there were things on there he didn't want to know? Were there things about himself he didn't know yet?

His behaviour was starting to border on rude, though, so he quickly took the proffered gift and, placing it between his joined palms like an object for prayer, bowed. "Thank you, sir... This will be of immeasurable value to me, I'm sure." Though.. He wasn't sure. Not sure at all.

Shuuhei doesn't draw attention to the new knife sharpening set he had placed beside Kensei's kitchen knife set. He still hasn't put his finger on how exactly Kensei feels about birthdays, specifically his own. Likewise, Shuuhei won't draw attention to the fact that he might be a little more affectionate today than on average, but that might be obvious enough on its own to give away his motivations.

"If you want, I can make dinner tonight." An innocent enough suggestion, right? Even before receiving an answer, Shuuhei nuzzles deeper into Kensei's shoulder, whereupon he whispers, so quietly that he might as well have mouthed it soundlessly, of his love for this man who was born on this day however many years ago (somehow, he thinks Kensei would be peeved if Shuuhei were to ask him how many years ago exactly).

--- He notices immediately that something is not quite right about his kitchen. Everything seemed to be in its place, and the space was neat and clean. That was not the issue. Something was added. At first, his instinct was to complain that Shuuhei should not leave his things laying around. But it quickly becomes obvious, as he approaches to grab the offending object, that this is not one of Shuuhei's possessions.

Ah.. Of course. He knew what day it was, but.. He still has to get used to others actually trying to celebrate it with him. The visored had all known that he didn't care for it { and yet still some of them had insisted on parties or gifts, but most knew how to act around the day }. "Mm?" Shuuhei's presence at his back shakes him from his reverie. His lips part to answer, but Shuuhei's breath in his neck distracts him. He turns over the gift in his hands a few times, studying it. "This is nice, Shuuhei.. Thank you." Functional; useful. The way he preferred gifts to be, if people were so set on providing him with them.

As for the quiet suggestion; he almost forgot to answer, but he sets the knife sharpening set back down on the counter and turns, placing his hands on Shuuhei's hips to pull him a little closer. "How about we cook together?" Kensei didn't usually like people in his kitchen when he was cooking. He'd made an exception for Hiyori when she'd helped him way back when, and occasionally the other visored were allowed, but no one else. So in the past when he and Shuuhei had dined together.. It was usually either him or Shuuhei cooking by themselves in there rather than together. But, he was willing to give it a try. He doesn't have to make it a birthday thing. In fact, they don't even have to mention it's his birthday at all. Though, if this means Shuuhei is going to be more affectionate today, he won't complain.
